After an action-packed and critically acclaimed debut, Reacher returned to Prime Video with high expectations and big shoes to fill. While the second season retains much of the show's signature grit and explosive set stuff, it stumbles where it matters most: the story.
Alan Ritchson continues to impress in the lead role, bringing the same stoic intensity and physical presence that made Season 1 so gripping. The action choreography remains sharp, offering several satisfying brawls and high-stakes encounters. However, the narrative underpinning these moments lacks the same intrigue and momentum.
The central plot never quite clicks, with pacing issues that slow the season's forward motion and supporting characters who feel more functional than fleshed out. Even Robert Patrick's antagonist, who had all the makings of a memorable villain, is underutilized in a finale that fizzles instead of soars. What could have been a thrilling second chapter feels like a missed opportunity to deepen Reacher's world and stakes.
Overall, I give the second season of Reacher 7.5/10.
You can catch Reacher Season 1-2 available on Prime Video.
