Eternally Yours Episode 2 Review: Funny, Familiar, and Still Finding Its Bite

Eternally Yours keeps finding laughs in the awkward realities of being a vampire, but Episode 2 feels too familiar to truly stand out.

“Baby Vampire” follows Max as he struggles to accept his new undead status, stubbornly insisting that he’s still human even as his vampire powers begin to emerge. Naturally, his attempt to return to normal life quickly ends in disaster. Meanwhile, Charles tries a little too hard to make friends at work, only to be ghosted at supernatural speed.

The episode’s strongest moments come when the characters confront what Max’s transformation means for their relationships. After rescuing him, Charles decides it's best to send Max away as his powers develop, but Emma pushes back. Despite her commitment issues, she’s willing to take a chance on their relationship instead of running from the possibility of spending eternity together. It’s a surprisingly touching moment that adds welcome emotional depth to the comedy.

Unfortunately, much of the humor relies on familiar sitcom situations, while Jesse remains a fairly predictable source of jokes. The episode has its funny moments, but it doesn’t do enough to make its supernatural premise feel fresh. However, the introduction of werewolves and vampire hunters hints at a much larger world waiting to be explored, and I’m curious to see whether the series takes advantage of that potential.

Overall, “Baby Vampire” is entertaining, but I’m still waiting for Eternally Yours to reveal what makes it truly special. The characters and supernatural world both show promise, but the comedy needs more originality to really sink its teeth in. Overall, I give the episode a 7.5/10.
