Two sisters, one act of vengeance, and nowhere left to run, Netflix is bringing another gripping drama to the screen with Kate Winslet starring.
Kate Winslet is heading to Netflix for her first major drama series with the streamer. The Oscar-winning actress will star alongside Maxine Peake (Say Nothing) in The Unheard, a five-part limited series from the creative team behind the Emmy-winning hit Adolescence.
Written by Jack Thorne, the thriller follows two sisters who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes horribly wrong. As they are pursued, the series explores what drove them to take such a reckless step—and whether escaping was ever truly their intention.
Mounia Akl will direct the series, with Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B producing. Executive producers include Winslet, Thorne, Adolescence’s Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters, along with Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
The news was announced at the Edinburgh TV Festival, The Unheard is scheduled to begin production in 2027.
