We know that Chicago Fire's Kelly Severide ( Taylor Kinney) has had a history of romance with characters from both on Chicago PD and Chicago Med. But in this upcoming season, he's going to find a brand new love interest in an unexpected place.
Executive Producer Matt Olmstead tells TVGuide.com, "He's back to fling mode. Part of the ramifications of getting demoted is that he has to go to this manager trainee course that is obligatory. Sure enough, he meets someone, played by Rachel Nichols, who's sent there because she's a problem employee at the law firm she works at. So, there's a little romance that happens there that turns into a complication down the road."
That kinda ask the question about Severide's relationship with Chicago Med's April (Yaya DaCosta) now that she's staying in Chicago.
"That was a culmination of a longtime friendship," Olmstead says. "They just wanted to know what it was like."
