Chicago Med TCA press tour

On Thursday, NBC's new drama series "Chicago Med" answered questions and discuss about the new spinoff series. Here are some pin-points.

  • The premiere date has been moved back a week to Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 9/8c. That filming the new season will start in mid-September.
  • Dick Wolf says that they aim for a "Ripped from the Headlines" storyline each week that'll get you one piece of medical information that you don't know. Other medical stories besides Ebola.
  • As for crossovers, Wolf says that they "are incredible ratings engines for us." But can't be commonplace.
  • Colin Donnell was questioned if he's worried about being killed off after dying in the last two shows he was in. He replied with a no.
  • Wolfs mentions the support of the city and the people have been incredible, "Now these are the hometown shows." Also saying that people are polite in Chicago and don't bother the actors like they would in other cities.
  • Andrew Dettmann, the showrunner for Chicago Med, says that the series will be a fast-paced show but they're also taking cases and following them through so you won't know what the diagnosis is right away.
  • There will be a three crossovers: two will be between Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD and the third one will be the jumbo four episode crossover between Fire, Med, PD and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
