Once in the Family, Always in the Family: Chicago PD "Life is Fluid" Season Premiere

Chicago PD is back and the premiere did not disappoint at all.

Antonio's intelligent was about to jump off because of her brother and what he's in with a top Heroine dealer. Hank and Company go and get her brother and interrogate him until he gives them some answers and help take down the kingpin.

In there to show proof, Halstead goes in as a buyer but it goes wrong within a minute and Halstead is taken hostage. The kingpin sends Voight a package with a phone and a dvd showing Halstead getting the crap beaten out of him.

The kingpin makes an arrangement to Hank that he wants all the CI files and have a female officer bring it. Well, Voight went to talk to an old friend Eddie, who apparently has a job when he gets out in a couple of months. Voight ask for a name that can help them find where the kingpin stays.

In the meantime, Erin is out partying, drinking and don't have a care in the world. But deep down inside her, she still wants to be back with the CPD. She wouldn't repeat what Halstead asked her that she doesn't want to be his partner anymore.

But things turn when Al calls Erin and tells her about the situation and she heads back to the house and wants to help. Voight wasn't too please to see her and but gives her back her badge.

Erin goes out bring the CI files that are fake and awaits for the guys to come. Halstead wasn't with them so they brought Erin to him.

Erin and the kingpin have a chat and when things don't go the right way, Halstead was going to get it until Erin stabs one of the members multiple times and still fights with him til he's dead. Halstead tries knocking out the kingpin til Erin grabs him and than takes a shot at him. He sees a gun in his desk and head towards it and Erin kills him.

You can see the fear but also the sparkle in her eye that she wants to come back. She does talk to Voight about rejoining the team, but only on his rules that she stays with him, take rapid drug test and cut all ties with her mother.

Looks like she might go for it. Also can't forget to mention, Burgess and Roman gets in a discussion about marriage of two cops, but she doesn't care she'll take the risk. But Burgess finds a syringe that fell out of Roman's backpack, something of concern: what is he doing with that?

And of course, from the end of last season, we found out that Al has another daughter and she's in jail. In this episode, she gets out help from Al but doesn't stay and gets a ride from a guy. But I think she'll be back soon.

This episode was not a disappointment at all. It starts off fast and ended on a very good note to start the season. Sophia Bus gives a great performance.

I wonder what Halstead will be like after this event blow over. What the heck is with Roman and is syringe. And who is Eddie and what job will he be having with Voight when he gets out?

I can't wait to see where this season will be going. It looks like it's going to be a very good season.

Overall I give this episode a 9/10.

Here's a promo for next week's episode.

You can catch Chicago PD Wednesday nights at 10/9c on NBC.
