Lucifer is about how the devil, Lucifer Morningstar, decides to vacation from his job in hell and enjoy what's happening in the real world with humans. He's made quite a life with friends, and even his charm gets everyone to spell out their secrets, well, except for one.
When a friend that he's helped gets murdered, he and Det. Chloe Decker (played by Chicago Fire's Lauren German). Who butts heads with him as they try to solve the case. Lucifer tries to use his devilish tricks on her, but it seems to not work on her, which intrigues him.
Based on the comic book by Vertigo, the series has a lot of dark humor, mystery, and even some sexuality. Tom Eliis is outstanding, and the chemistry work between Ellis and German is a plus.
Rachel Harris, a supporting actress, gives a terrific comedic scene with Ellis as a therapist, and trying to get answers from her is just hilarious.
I am looking forward to how this series will go. Can Lucifer stay in the human world, and if so, would he ever lose his power of mortality? After watching one episode, I might have to look up the comics and see what they're like.
Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.
You can catch Lucifer on Monday nights at 9/8c on FOX.
