Looks like Paramount+ is adding another medical drama.
Paramount+ is expanding its original drama lineup with Trauma (working title), a new high-stakes medical action thriller starring Richard Madden.
The series follows former Royal Marines medic turned emergency room doctor Jim Marchant, whose ordinary shift turns into a fight for survival when terrorists seize a busy London hospital and take the British Prime Minister hostage during surgery. Forced to battle his way floor by floor, Jim must outthink the attackers and protect everyone trapped inside as the hospital becomes the center of a deadly siege.
Created by Geoff Bussetil and directed by Daniel Syrkin, Trauma is a co-production between Paramount+ and Prime Video. Paramount+ describes the series as a fast-paced, globally appealing thriller packed with suspense, while producers have praised Bussetil's gripping scripts and Madden as the perfect choice to lead the action.
From its premise alone, Trauma sounds like it has the ingredients to be one of Paramount+'s most exciting new drama. Richard Madden has consistently excelled in intense, action-driven roles, and combining the urgency of a medical drama with the tension of a hostage thriller is an intriguing concept that already has my attention. If the series delivers on that premise, this could be one to watch.
