New Summer Comedy: "Mr. Robinson"

It's still summer and there's really not much comedy going showing these days. That will all change come this Wednesday when Craig Robinson ("The Office" & "Hot Tub Time Machine") comes back to NBC with a new series.

The series "Mr. Robinson" is about when a musician Craig Robinson is in search for a day job so that he can pay the bills. Finding a substitute teaching might be the easiest choice. Thinking that it's just popping in videos for the students all day, wrong! Soon he's surprised that he wants to inspire his class by using his music as an educational tool. However, that doesn't impress the principal at all with his teaching style, so if he wants keep teaching he'll have to get it together.

The series is created by Owen Ellickson with Greg Daniels as Executive Producer along with Mark and Robb Cullen and Howard Klein. Along with Robinson, Peri Gilpin, Brandon T. Jackson, Amanda Stenberg, Spencher Grammer and Tim Badley stars in the series as well.

You can catch the series premiere of "Mr. Robinson" Wednesday, August 5th at 9/8c on NBC.

Playing House: A Comedy that's Full of Laughs

If you haven't seen the USA Network comedy series "Playing House," you might want to tune in this Tuesday to watch the season premiere.

The series is about two best friends: Maggie (Lennon Parham), a new mother who ended her marriage when she discovered her husband's affair with another woman online. She turns to her best friend, Emma (Jessica St. Clair), for support. To help Maggie in her time of need, she gives up her successful trip to China to return to their hometown and help her friend raise her baby.

Season one was all about Maggie and Emma learning the ropes of what expecting couples do during pregnancy. Now, come season two, the series will have the two going through what it's taking care of the baby together.

This is one of the funniest shows on cable. Watching these two characters as childhood best friends would reflect how we would be with our best friends. Parham and St. Clair are hilarious, and I would say one of the best comedy duos on television today.

You can catch up by watching season one episodes.

You can catch the season premiere of "Playing House" on Tuesday, Aug. 4th at 10/9c on USA.

Madison Promoted to Series Regular on Chicago Fire

Looks like the newest member on Firehouse 51 will be staying around.

Dora Madison, who recurred on the third season of NBC's hit drama Chicago Fire as paramedic Jessica "Chili" Chilton, has been moved up to series regular.

Madison (Friday Night Lights) joined the series late last season as a replacement for Mills, who was played by Charlie Barnett, a former series regular.

Fire has never been been shy from shaking up it's characters. Before Barnett, the series said goodbye to Lauren German when they killed her off her beloved character, Leslie Shay in the third season premiere.

Madison has also been in "Dexter," "The Lying Game" and "Star-Crossed"

You can catch the season premiere of Chicago Fire Tuesday, Oct 13th at 10/9c on NBC.

Perspective of Fear, Rage and Horror: Weekend Catch Up Part 6

Once again another weekend catch up. Here are this past week's episodes.

Royal Pains: "Lending a Shoulder" Season Finale

In the season finale (hopefully not series finale), a life, a death and a perspective life relationships and meanings.

Hank encounters someone from his past, his ex-fiance. As Hank treats a paient that's about to get married it turns out to be Nikki. Things blow over broad when Hank thinks that it was her that caused the break up but he realizes that it was his fault.

Divya doesn't make it in time to she her grandmother but makes a life perspective when she helps save a motorist in an accident and tells Hank that she wants to go to medical school. Plus her true love comes back to her.

As for Evan and Page, as the baby was coming, you can sense that somewhere soon that the mother was going to change her mind and keep the baby. But watching both Evan and Page go through that was tough to watch.

But the ending of this episode was far brilliant and felt like a true finale when Hank and Evan watched the sunset while drinking a beer. Hank can't get over how Evan has grown so much in the past seven years of them being together in the Hampton's.

This was a really good season finale. Some laughs and a lot of really good moments that I can't say enough about.

Until next season (Season 8) or as we love to say it "next summer." Which I would think that this season eight could be the end of the series. It will make it's 100th episode and each of the characters seems to be near the end of their journey and being happy.

You can catch "Royal Pains" next summer on USA Network.

Stitchers: "Fire in the Hole"

In this week's episode, a scientist is dead due to a virus that she was working on. But when Kristen and then gang try to find out what happen to her, things don't go the way they hope; not even on Kristen's birthday.

In this bottle episode, the gang tries to figure out the deal with the virus and the cure. The lab shuts down and one by one each member shows symptoms of the virus.

They can't get into any lab, so Camille goes inside the vents and unlock the door, but in this hilarious moment she encounters a rat and freaks out. I would too.

When hope feels lost, everyone makes a phone call to their love ones except Kristen as she tries to figure things out. Until her and Cameron talk and soon figure out that the virus can be killed by the heat.

There were some questions answered and mostly it was between Kristen and Maggie as she told her the truth about her and Kristen's mother.

Good episode, as I said there were some questions answered. Allison's character was once again hilarious. Her humor pulls off great and still reminds me of her on Warehouse 13.

Overall I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch "Stitchers" Tuesday nights at 9/8c on ABC Family.

Complications: "Fever"

Where does the line end for John? Just how far can he go doing these things and not get in trouble?

In this week's episode John is face to help a friend to get out of jail while stealing some drugs for business. When Gretchen's friend/collage is in jail and need bail money, only one guy can help but it will cost dearly to do so.

When Gretchen ask John for help, he really couldn't but when she tells him this plan she has about stealing chemo drugs for this guy, John still says no. But when John has a meeting with the guy, he not only talks to him but blackmails him as well.

John didn't want to but came up with three or more plans to get the job done but that didn't work because Gretchen likes to wing it. As they stole up to nearly ten boxes of drugs, John saw what the guy was doing and pretending to pass on fake stuff as the real stuff.

That set John mad and blows up the lab and goes into his rage again. I think he like being angry, he looks like he's enjoying it.

Meanwhile, John's wife was informed that the cop watch was going to end and freaked out that a gang car drove by slowly. When she talks to her dear friend about it, he tells her to look into what the detective has on her husband.

This episode was good. Love how Gretchen and John always argue about how they help and that it's for the same but in a different manner of helping.

Overall I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch "Complications" Thursday nights at 9/8c on USA.

Hannibal: "The Great Red Dragon"

It's the episode that we're all dying to see, Red Dragon aka the Tooth Fairy baby!!!

This episode started off with the introduction of the Tooth Fairy, exercising and getting his tattoo of The Great Red Dragon.

Meanwhile, we jump three years ahead in the story. Hannibal, of course, is in his special jail cell, Jack is still working for the FBI and Will is happy with his wife, son and dogs at the cabin.

As the Tooth Fairy strikes, Jack needs help from Will and pulls him back into the game. Will, who doesn't want to, decides to help on the case of this fugitive.

When Will checks out the murder scene, Will does what Will does best, vision his design and it look great. But in some why, he doesn't feel quite right about ti. Even dreaming about the murder family.

But it was at the end of the episode that Will goes to Jack and tells him that he's going to need some help, more of an opinion on the case. He wants to see Lecter and oh boy did that first meet since he was captured look great.

Also not to forget, Fredrick comes in and talks to both Lecter and Dr. Bloom. Hell Bloom had a talk with Lecter too and mostly was about Mason and how he kept his promises about Will.

This episode was great. The introduction of the Tooth Fairly was amazing well done. Hell I couldn't have wanted it either other way. Finally we get to see Will's  wife and son and not to mention Will being a profiler that he once was or is.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch "Hannibal" Saturday nights at 10/9c on NBC.
