The Ringing of the Bells: The Blacklist "Mr. Solomon " (No. 38)"/ "Mr. Solomon: Concussion"

Mr. Solomon (No. 38)

There's a wedding in the air for Liz and Tom, but those church bells won't be the only ones ringing in this episode.

As Solomon is being transferred to another place, it turns out that he's about to get taken out from his previous employer. But that's until gunshots go off, and a mysterious car comes and takes Solomon.

As Solomon is on the loose, he plans to steal a nuclear weapon from the government. Red informs Liz about it and also cancels the wedding. Of course, you know that wasn't going to happen, as she tells Cooper and the team about it and lets them go while she and Tom get prepared for their big day

After Solomon and the team take the weapon, Ressler and the team spot where they are at a motel. As they try to ambush Solomon's counterpart, they too get ambushed with their squad but catch the counterpart as she is in a jeep but having trouble getting the car to start.

Ressler talks to the suspect, but the suspect informs him about the military's information of the decay of the weapon travels. That worried the army, and they gave her anything she wanted for whatever information she gave them.

Tom gets a surprise visit not only from his ex but from The Major as well. But it didn't last as Tom's ex shot The Major and had him clean it up.

As things get moving for the wedding, Cooper weds the couple, Samar and Aram, the bride's maid and DJ. I would hire Aram to be the DJ for my wedding. And, of course, Red tries to convince her to cancel the wedding. That led him and Dembe to leave, but that gave Red something to think about when it came to that jeep the suspect was trying to escape.

As soon as Red saw the jeep and was told that it ran fine, he called Ressler as they were about to detain the bomb that wasn't there. Red tells him Solomon is after Liz and needs to get there as quickly as possible.

The one moment from this episode that I truly love is when Red walks into the chapel with his gun and walks towards Liz and Tom, almost like it was a father saying, " I've eject!"

Solomon gets there, and he is about to set foot. Everyone takes cover, and Solomon and Red have a nice chat to hand to Liz. The one thing that Red and Tom can agree on is not to give her up. As things get heated, guns are blazing, Ressler makes his move, and soon, Liz and Tom rush out and drive away in the wedding car.

Liz looks back, looking like one of those runaway brides,  and they drive off.

"Mr. Solomon: Concussion"

When they say a bombshell, they mean there will be one. HOLY CRAP!!!

The episode picks off as Tom and Liz drive away. Red and the team are still at the church fighting back, but soon Solomon and his team leave to find Liz.

We see that Solomon's new employer or helper, which, for now, I call "God's Eye," helps Solomon track and give direction.

Solomon and the team find Liz and Tom and try to stop them. Watching a pregnant Liz shooting at Solomon's car reminds me of Bonnie and Clyde. They crash into a moving truck but escape before Solomon arrives.

Liz and Tom walk into a nursing home and hide for now, and after they dodge Solomon, things go wrong for Liz as she starts bleeding and rushes to the hospital. Red calls, asking where they are, and tells Liz he can't protect her and everyone else in that hospital. They leave just in time.

Things get complicated for the baby, and Liz has to have an emergency C-section. The baby is born, a girl, but at first, doesn't breathe but soon recovers and screams like hell. The happy parents take it all in, and then Red comes in. Liz isn't happy and wants him out; Mr. Kaplan tells Red that she'll talk to her.

But soon, Liz isn't doing well and is put on a by-pap machine for breathing. The doctor would need a lot of stuff, and Kaplan provided it, but it wasn't enough, and they needed to rush her to the hospital. Red comes up with a plan to distract Solomon, which it does for a short time, but catches Red and them.

Guns are blazing, and Red moves towards the back with the doctor and Liz. Things aren't looking good at all. Liz goes into cardiac arrest.

Soon, Ressler and the team get there, Solomon escapes (see him in the spinoff), and Ressler and Dembe head towards the van when they see the bombshell of the year...Liz is dead. The doctor had to call it, and we see the most emotional image and scene as Red holds her hand and lies near her. Ressler tells everyone to move back. Kaplan tells Red that he needs to leave.

Red gets out, Ressler puts his jacket over him, and Red tells Kaplan that he doesn't want Liz at the morgue.

We see Ressler walking Red towards the car in a slow fashion. As he gets to the car door, he faints, and Dembe catches him. That look that Spader gave through that scene was remarkable.

The music playing was so eerily and haunting but sweet in a way. The reaction from Cooper, Aram, and even Samar is just heartbreaking. Even when Kaplan pulled and closed the sheet over Liz and walked her toward the van, I burst into tears.

And at the end, we see Tom and Red discussing what to do next. I'm sure Tom will be a great father once he gets the hang of it. That baby is so cute.

Now, where we go from here, I have no idea. But one thing is for sure: I can't wait to see how Red deals with this next week. Is Liz alive or dead? I can't tell, and to keep in mind that this is The Blacklist, and she did die in between scenes.

I thought it was going to be the baby for some reason. I didn't expect Liz to die. I played so much with my emotions that I haven't felt like this since Shay was killed in the season 3 premiere of Chicago Fire.

The first episode brought the suspense, while the second brought us not only suspense but also emotion as well.

Overall, I give each a 9.5/10.

You can catch The Blacklist Thursday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows | Trailer #2 | Paramoun...

The latest new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been released and it looks totally rad!!!

The story dives int the ooze that help made the turtles and Beepbob and Rocksteady. But if the turtles tied it, they would turn human and it looks like Ralph is the only one who wants to turn human.

Hell, I can't wait for this film. Looks like they dive right into the television series with the colorful tone than the previous film.

TMNT Out of the Shadows comes out on June 8th.

The Blacklist Spinoff Has It's Lead Actor

A couple of weeks ago there was word that a spinoff of The Blacklist was in the works in an episode in May. With Famke Janssen getting the lead actress role now Ryan Eggold is officially in as the lead role.

Deadline.com reports that Eggold "has closed a deal to play the male lead." He'll be reprising his role as the covert op Tom Keen aka Jacob Philips.

If the spinoff is a go, Eggold will be the star of the series of the new series with possible crossover appearances on The Blacklist. But if it's not a go than Eggold will stay on the The Blacklist, resuming his duties as a regular.

The backdrop episode will air on May 12th and it will be written by creator/executive producer Joe Bokenkamp and executive producer/showrunner John Eisendrath.

For what's being heard, the spinoff will be focus on the relationship between Susan "Scottie" Halsted (Janssen) and Tom (Eggold), which are to be alike of Raymond "Red" Reddington and Liz Keen, with Scottie as Tom's handler.

In the spinoff, Jessen and Eggold are being joined by The Blacklist recurring player Edi Gathegi and a new character Tawny Cypress.

The spinoff is created by Bokenkamp and Eisendrath and produced by The Blacklist producers of John Fox and John Davis.

The Blacklist returns this Thursday at 9/8c on NBC, with a can't miss episode that will have you on hyper drive.

Shades of Blue A Season Finale that's Must See

Ever since January 7th, there has been no other show getting major buzz on Thursday nights at 10/9c like Shades of Blue. For week after week, the show has been thrilling us with unbelievable moments. And as tonight's the season finale, it's gonna be the mother of all season finales.

If you don't know or haven't heard of Shades of Blue, it's about a NYPD detective Harlee Santos (played by Jennifer Lopez), who's a single mother dealing with financial issues. She gets caught by the FBI anti-corruption task force and has to decide whether to do the right thing for her daughter or cover up for her corrupt co-workers.

From the moment episode one ends, you're on this ride that you can't and don't want to get off. There are so many twist and turns for this cop drama that it's not your typical cop drama at all. It's basically a character driven cop drama.

Lopez gives her best performance in this series. I'm already given her an Emmy nod. She's been nothing but unbelievable and half the time it's not only her but this great ensemble cast. Ray Liotta, gives a great performance as Harlee's captain, mentor and friend. So does Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos) too. And Warren Kole (Common Law) gives an amazing performance that gets into your skin as the FBI anti-corrupt task force leader and Harlee's handler. With great acting comes great writing and this series has great writing.

Tonight is the season finale, if you missed episodes you can download the NBC app and watch the full season episodes. Less than a month after the series premiered, the show gets picked up for a second season.

What's being said about the finale is that you need to brace yourself. Lopez tells The Jess Cagle Interview with People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly editorial director, "All I can say is that I don't know where we go from here. When we were doing the last scenes for the last episode in that last week,  I was like 'what the hell are we doing?' Oh my god, it's riveting. I'll tell you that much."

You can catch the season finale of Shades of Blue tonight at 10/9c on NBC.

A "Blacklist" Spinoff?

It seems that NBC has been hitting the success button with spinoff shows, take example the Chicago series (Fire, PD, Med and soon to be Justice). Now the Peacock network is looking into The Blacklist for another show.

TVLine is reporting that NBC "is developing a spinoff of The Blacklist," that will have Famke Janssen (How to Get Away with Murder) as the lead role.

The backdoor pilot episode is set to air May 12th as Janssen will play Susan "Scottie" Halsted, who'll be introduced into the show a week earlier, May 5th.

There's a rumor that Blacklist regular Ryan Eggold would have a major role in the project, that gives Tom and Scottie's relationship just like Liz and Red's relationship dynamic.

TVLine says that a source "stresses that there is currently no series commitment for the spinoff "and "a decision will likely be made in May."

In addition to the spinoff news, TVLine has learned that Edi Gathegi, who plays Mr Solomon in the series, has closed a deal to co-star in the spinoff.

As a viewer and a fan of The Blacklist, this does seem interesting but also a bit scary to see a spinoff come from this show. How different would it be from the original series is something tough to get off.

Nothing is set in stone or in contract so let's just see where these two episodes will go.

You can catch The Blacklist as the show returns Thursday, April 7th at 9/8c with a wedding that can't be missed.
