Good Fix, Not Enough Story: The Blacklist Lipet's Seafood Company"

New year, new episode!!

Thank god, The Blacklist is back!! I've been getting a little bored during the month and a half since the show's fall finale. I got to have my Reddington fix.

"Lipet's Seafood Company" is a great episode if you haven't seen the series yet (like Chicago Med). The question that we've been wondering since we heard about it in the promo is, who's the mole on the team?

Here's what stood out in this episode: One, Aram dealing with the aftermath of being hacked of highly classified information. If you remember, he got into a relationship with an enemy that he had no clue she was part of and hacked the post office. That didn't sit well with the US Attorney, and she interviewed him about it. He admits that he's horrible at picking relationships, and after knowing about Samar's mole doing (that's right, she was the mole, but to save her ex-boyfriend), he breaks off their date.

Another Liz and Tom finally get to have an everyday life. Now that Kirk is somewhere that he can no longer be found or heard, Liz and her family get to have a routine so-called life. She returns to the FBI hoping to be an agent, but it won't happen because she shot the US Attorney (Season 2). But Red, who made a couple of deals with the higher job (President-elect), soon gets her badge back.  


I found that the case this week was a bit disappointing but entertaining at the same time. There were a few perfect moments, but the case for this episode didn't stick to me like the rest. The one thing that popped into my head when seeing fish and computer chips was thinking of getting fish and chips.

Nonetheless, even though the story wasn't as strong, the actors' performance helped pull off this episode. Will I rewatch this episode down the road? Maybe. Will I remember it? It's probably from drone to cheeseburger chowder. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

A thrilling Twist: Chicago Med "Uncharted Territory"

New Year, new episodes of TV's best medical drama, and if you haven't seen Chicago Med, this episode would be the one to hook you.

"Uncharted Territory" is one of those episodes that you don't need to go back and rewatch the previous episodes to catch up. This one was like this is what Med is, and enjoy. And boy, was this episode enjoyable.

The episode had two great story plots: Dr. Manning's treating a young 20-year-old with what was thought to be one thing but goes a complete 360 when it was all done, and it didn't end on any good note. This one stunts me as a viewer who thought this kid would improve. But it did give us some excellent Manning-Halstead scenes.

The second, Dr. Choi treats two MMA fighters, two different kinds of people with their brothers hating on each other. One tries to find peace, while the other thinks it's all in the rules. It's something that Choi has seen before, and why, trying to be the ref between one another, one of the patients takes a turn for the worst and goes brain-dead. After watching a family forgive the fighter, Choi takes the fighter's brother and tries to make things up.

Others: Charles gets his head twisting and turning when he has to give his two cents on a patient who needs a new heart, but the problem is that she's had a bad past with alcohol but has been cleaned for three months with help from her daughter and willpower. But he doesn't think that's what cuts to get a new heart. I also believe that not only was his decision based on what his brother did but also on his relationship with his daughter and Rhodes.

And not to mention: April is back to work but gets worrisome news about her baby's health due to the medication that she's on. Her finances suggest that maybe it would be best to terminate the pregnancy, but of course, she won't do that at all. The two seem to be on separate terms right now.

This episode was one of the show's best so far this season. The characters drove it. The writing was so good, as was the performance from Torrey DeVitto and even Brian Tee. Manning's storyline was a roller coaster kind of a ride following it.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

A Ring of Memories: Kevin Can Wait "Ring Worm"

New Year, New Episode!!

When Kendra questions on the whereabouts of Chale, Kevin digs into it and gets a reminder of a promise that he had made long ago.


When Kevin finds out what Chale has been up to, working to save money to buy Kendra an engagement ring, it pop into Kevin's head that he promised Donna that he would get her a better one than he got her. Jumping to 20 plus years, he forgets and tries to make it right.

That leads to trouble when it comes to getting the money. He gets advice from his brother and friend about sneaking money into the account with her seeing the bank statement, that he thinks comes in the mail but didn't know you can check in online (uh oh!).

So when she sees that $6,000 was transferred into their checking account, Kevin tells her that he was going to buy and dirt bike but she disapproves it but she quickly learns from Chale that he was going to use the money to buy her a ring. After feeling bad and getting excited she plays him into getting the bike. That gets Kevin thinking that he should get the bike and not the ring and when it came time to getting the bike, Donna thinks they were getting a ring along the way.

But it was until they get to the bike shop and sees what Kevin wants to buy. Disappointed and wanting to go home, Kevin tries to get her to open the hatch on the back of the bike but after the third time he tells her, she did and sees the ring.

It lead to a really good surprise that really ended up that Donna didn't want the ring after all since her regular one contains so much memories. But she proposes to him on getting that bike and the two rides around the woods in front of the kids popping wheelies and splashing mud on Jack, their son.

This was a good episode to start the new year, there were hilarious moments at times and there were some that didn't stick out. But watching Kevin and Donna is enough in this episode to be hilarious. I find the Chale-Kendra story plot okay there was some okay moments, let along better when Kendra and Kevin were having a daughter-dad talk. Also the cold opening of the spider was funny and the breakfast scenes with the kids as well.

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

The Choice: The Good Place: "Chapter 10: Chidi's Choice"

Love was somewhere in the air in this week's return episode of the new year.

As Michael tries to find a way to figure out how (fake) Eleanor can stay in the good place, (real) Eleanor goes her way and conducts an interview with (fake) Eleanor to see what they could use in their argument.

When she told them about how a big mess she made the first day, she then told about hoe Chidi has helped her, she returned the favor and described him in many ways. (Real) Eleanor thinks that she might have a crush on Chidi and thinking about she thinks she really does.

While back at Michael's office, him and Chidi try to work up something that could help them with Eleanor, but it gets complicated due to Chidi's lack of making a decision, for which happens to be his biggest issues. Michael tries to help him make a decision but it was just useless and we see flashbacks of him trying to make a decision from as a child to being a best man for his friend's wedding and even trying to pick a place to get a beer, for which caused him to go to his death.

(Fake) Eleanor pulls away Chidi from Michael and expressed her feelings for him but soon after Tahani learned that Jianyu isn't who he says he is and learns about the painting that Chidi made, she too expressed her love to Chidi. Talk about a real bachelor series going on or either someone turned up the romance love to 5 clicks.

Chidi leaves and talks to Michael about it. Michael thinks all of this is caused by him and so he takes him to the frozen yogurt shop and tries to make him make a decision. I feel like he'd picked (fake) Eleanor, which I was hoping but by the time he gets there to make his decision, she tells him that  it might not be love but she thinks of him as a best friend savoir kind of relationship. Also we see how Chidi dies too from a fallen air conditioner that he hit in his place, while talking about his best man speech and while choosing a place it fell right on him. Holy Crap!!!

At the end, (real) Eleanor comes back and over hears that Tahani has an idea of keeping (fake) Eleanor in the Good Place and heads over to Michael.

Other things: After Tahani's upset with Jianyu, Janet comes and cheers him up with his favorite food. He wonders why has she been nice to him as it was the same way he treated her when she was rebooted and then the two fell in love and got married on the same day. It was one of the funniest moments throughout the episode, even the wedding was too.

Not to mention that (fake) Eleanor and Tahani had a very nice BFF time while waiting for Chidi to make a decision. Watching a classic BBC comedy series, for which I have no clue how a show lasted 16 years with 30 episodes, and also braiding hair as well. You know finally these two seem to be the best friends that they seem to be.

I thought that this episode as it's first in the new year was really good. There were a lot of great moments, mostly about love and decision making. I thought that everyone played so well with one another from Kristen Bell to Jameela Jamil to William Jackson Harper and even D'Arcy Carden to Manny Jacinto as they were amazing and so funny. After waiting about two months, it wouldn't have bothered me waiting (because I still have the episodes on my DVR and I watch them a lot when I get bored).

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

This Is Us "The Trip" & "Last Christmas"

"The Trip"

After watching this episode, I wanted to give Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown a hug because their performance in this episode was unbelievably flawless.

After a chaotic Thanksgiving, Kate, Kevin and Randall travel to the family cabin to collect some of their stuff because Rebecca was going to sell it. Trying to talk to Randall of what their mother had done wasn't really working, but the one solution that helped him was Kevin's co-star's ex boyfriend's mushroom juice that did the trick.

When Randall drank mushroom juice, he started to hallucinate seeing Jack fixing the roof and having a conversation about what Rebecca has done to him. It had that feeling of "It's a Wonderful Life" meets being high, in a way.

But anyway, Jack tells Randall that what they've done a lot for him and he shows him visions of what she was during a family game time. She looked happy, but Randall tells her straight a list of why she had ruin his life about not telling him about his father, William. At one point, Jack shows him what was really going on with Rebecca in those days, a mother of three, with a free caring husband, trying to keep everyone safe. We see her running to doors and windows and locking them with tears of fear. It was literally the best scene out of the whole episode.

In those flashbacks, Rebecca talks to William about Randall and talks about wanting to meet his dad but when it got overwhelming for her she left. It wasn't til near the end after her, Jack and Randall were at the karate class that she wrote a letter to William that she thinks it the best that he doesn't meet his father but sends him a photo at the age of eight years old.

This was a remarkable episode, probably one of it's best so far. The performances from Brown and Moore left me with emotions that really made me think of family but also why the mother is literally the heart and soul of the family. It literally made me want to give them hugs and also my mother and grandmother too.

I didn't really care for too much of Kevin inviting his co-workers from the play too much because it never really brought enough interest like Randall's. But it was an okay storyline. I didn't think that co-star was going to be his girlfriend anyway (liked to but didn't).

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10

"Last Christmas" 

Nothing bad happens on Christmas Eve, but there are a few surprises.

In "Last Christmas" might be one of the most interesting Christmas episodes in recent time. It had the joyfulness, emotion and even some shocking moments too.

On Christmas Eve, Kate has her appendicitis taken out. With Rebecca and the family worried about her, she told Kate that when she get out she'll be holding a piece of pine from a fake Christmas tree to rpove to her that bad things don't happen on Christmas Eve.

As the family waited, Rebecca spots Dr. K in the hospital as a patient. He tells her that he's got a mass in between the heart and lungs that having surgery is a life or death thing. But after spending some time with Rebecca, Jack, Kevin and Randall, who gave him a snow globe, Dr. K had the surgery and came back fine.

In the present time on Christmas Eve, Kate had her mom with her at the lap band surgery and during the questions and answers, Rebecca learned some stunning information about her. They both answered opposite answer to each question. On the car ride home, the two weren't talking as much but thanks to Miguel, the Christmas spirit was brought back in them.

Kevin  had to go to Sloane's family for Hanukkah, since he owe her one after they slept together, they lost the leading lady of her play and she told her mother that she's dating The Manny. Fear to tell her family about the play, Kevin had this idea when he sees her tell the kids about the history of Hanukkah, that she should star in the play. She accepted.

Randall and his wife was at an office Christmas party. When Randall's wife heard that Randall bought a boat, she asked him to give it back. He finds the co-worker and sees that he's about to jump off the building. But Randall tries to talk him down about life, family and his kid, but when his wife comes by he sees that he's gone and thinks that he jump off, but really he was in the building walking somewhere else. That worries me a bit.

William was at his support group and talked about how he was going to spent probably his last Christmas with his son and family. Then comes the next guy, Jessie, who happens to know William, personally. They use to date a year ago. The two kind a settle their differences and went to Randall's house for Christmas party.

When Randall and his family got home, everyone started to come like it was suppose to have happen. Everyone came, even Toby makes a surprising visit and tells Kate that he'll change because he wants to be with her and that he loves her. The two had a thing upstairs, which didn't quite settle for Toby because he was pretty exhausted. After a whole lot of fun, things were slowly winding down, as Randall takes the kids to bed, Toby gets up to help and collapses. There we see someone in surgery, with tubes and such, and then we see Toby and the surgeons shocking his heart.  

This was a very good and memorable episode. There were some interesting and surprising moments like William having had a relationship a year ago, Randall talking to a co-worker from jump off that apparently wasn't. And Toby falling down and seeing him getting his heart started. The entire cast did a tremendous performance. The writing was so good that each story plot was equal good as the other.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10

Thrill of the Chase: Blindspot "Nor I, Nigel, AKA Leg in Iron"

The return of Blindspot literally was on a breathless, edge of your seat episode. Let's get to the recap.

The episode last night picked off right where we left off in the fall finale, after a brief recap of what had happen, we come to Patterson and Borden after we heard the gun go off. Who was it? It was Patterson who gets shot, but for the fans out there, she was saved by Borden as she was taken to be treated.

Meanwhile, after Jane zipped Roman (zipped is the name of the brand that erases memories), she takes him in a car and tries to get him back to the FBI but when he wakes up later he puts on a fight. Jane tries to explain to him who she is and what's going on. But he just wouldn't listen and runs off with the car leaving Jane behind.

Jane gets back to the FBI and not only are Weller, Nas and Zapata looking for Patterson, they're now looking for Roman. They track the car and try to call on the phone in the car. They located him and picked him up but with Sheppard's men there too, so there was gun battle.

When they bring Roman in, they try asking him questions on the whereabouts of Borden or Sheppard, but nothing was getting through in his memory. But when FBI Director Pennington shows up he gets Nas to leave the building as her department is no longer available because of 12 FBI agents had died in that blast at the compound.

Meanwhile, Patterson wakes up and tries to take down Borden, who was washing his hands after fixing her wounds, but Sheppard pulled a gun behind her. Instead of killing Patterson, Sheppard tries to get what she knows about her and Phase II. After being tortured by poking in her ears and getting hit with a pipe to the face, Sheppard left it to Borden take over after getting word about Roman.

Soon, Weller, Zapata and Jane tries to figured out where Borden took Patterson. After a couple of leads, and a garage repair shop lady, they found where Borden has Patterson at and headed over there. When they get there, they triggered a bomb that blasted the car a couple of feet. The three gets out and Borden runs into the woods along with Weller, while Zapata and Jane get Patterson.

Weller catches Borden and the two battle it out. Amazing on Borden combat skills, he literally kicked Weller's but and even taken his handcuffs and used it against him, tying him up. Weller asked him why does Sheppard want him alive as Borden responds to him that he'll know soon.

Everyone seems to be on okay terms after the events that just took place. Weller comes by to give Patterson flowers, as she is still working and finds something interesting to show him. But after she should him it, Weller gets out a cell phone that Nas gave him and she tries to crack the code, for which she did and found a files, for which shows a video of the layout tattoos on Jane. And there's one single tattoo that in the video but she doesn't have on her now, a tiger on her neck.

Also to add: Reade had recovered well and was sent home, thanks to the help of Zapata. But it got awkward or relieved that he kisses her after checking up on him at his home. But she resist it and left to go back to work. Reade finally has feelings for her and I thought she does to for him but I guess she just wants to be friends. I guess those signs of them looking at each other funny kind of thrown me off a bit.

I couldn't enjoy this episode a lot more than it already was that the first fifteen minutes of nothing but a breathless thriller ride. At least no one died and that Phase II. I feel that Sheppard is going to get Roman back soon, I don't think it will last working with Jane and the FBI. That tiger tattoo that Patterson and Weller found, what could it mean and why did Sandstorm not ink it. As creator Martin Gero said over a year ago during the TCA press tour about there were going to be more tattoos that are hidden than seen. I think it has to do with Sandstorm and one of their Phase II or something even bigger than Phase II. The writing for this episode was really good and the acting from the cast was so good even Ashley Johnson gives a really good performance so far. Overall I give this episode a 9/10.
