In the new year we'll be calling Jennifer Lopez Detective J-Lo.

NBC has announced Wednesday that J-Lo's cop drama Shades of Blue will debut on Thursday, Jan. 14th at 9/8c with a rwo hour premiere.

Following the super size premiere, the series-which also stars Ray Liotta and Drea de Matteo- will shift to it's regular Thursday timeslot at 10/9c on Jan. 21, which replaces The Player.

In Shades, Lopez plays Harlee Santos, a cop at the heart of a tight-knit crew of Brooklyn detectives, led by Lt. Matt Wozniak (Liotta), who often leads the team to step outside the limitations of the law in order to effectively protet their precinct and their own. As a big illegal job looms on the horizon, the FBI catches Harlee in the act and pits her against her own unit. As a newly turned informant, Harlee struggles to safeguard her on the job family and avoid arrest in order to stay with her daughter.
