Chicago Med Shuts Down Production After Positive COVID Test

The doctors and nurses of Chicago Med are now dealing with the coronavirus in real life.

Deadline is reporting that Production on the NBC medical drama has shut down for two weeks after a production team member tested positive for COVID-19.

The production team member was immediately sent home following the positive test, and producers at Wolf Entertainment and Universal TV decided to pause production out of an abundance of caution since the production team member was close proximity to the cast and crew. Also, a second member of the same department also tested positive last week.

MEd just began filming last week for the upcoming sixth season and as of now, is still slated to premiere on Wednesday, November 11, along with its counterpart #OneChicago series, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. Those other two series are set to begin filming next month.

I'm hoping that the two production members are okay and they get well. I still have optimistic that we'll see Chicago Med and others meet their season premiere.
