Emotional Roller-Coaster: Station 19 Season 2 Review

This week, I watched the second season of ABC's Station 19. Here are my thoughts.

While Season One had some issues, but I enjoyed it. With season one ending with such a good cliffhanger, I had to check what season two had in store. I thought the second season was such an improvement to season one. One of the improvements was that the emergencies/rescues storylines weren't so predictable.

Some stories packed a punch with intense excitement and even emotional drama. Episodes like "When It Rains, It Pours," "The Dark Night, "along with the crossover episode "Always Ready" and the follow-up "For Whom The Bell Tolls were some of the season's best episodes that had me grabbing tissues.

The addition of Boris Kodjoe as Captain Sullivan was great casting, as the character brought friction to the firehouse that just made the show so engaged with drama. And the way that they handled his character arc in the second season was so good, coming to his grievance of the loss of his wife years ago and learning to open up with the 19 crew.

This ensemble cast was so good. This season's character development was so strong and impactful at times, from Vic's relationship with Ripley to Andy dealing with past and maybe future relationships and even Gibson coping with PTSD, along with friction between Andy and Maya on leadership, which was so good.

The season finale ended after the crew dealt with the aftermath of helping with the California fires with some outgoing and not so much outgoing. After watching this season and seeing where it ended up, I can't stop now. I have to start watching the third season.

So, I give Season Two of Station 19 an 8.5/10.

You can watch Station 19 on ABC or Hulu and catch the new season this November on ABC.
