A Flying Thrill: Departure Season 1

When a British passenger plane vanishes without a trace, investigators embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mystery. This captivating enigma will have you on the edge of your seat right up until the very end! I’d love to share my thoughts with you.

Peacock's new drama, Departure, is the best new series since The Capture, which premiered in July. The series centers on Kendra Malley, played by Archie Panjabi, who is brought in by her boss and mentor, Howard Lawson, portrayed by Christopher Plummer, to help investigate the disappearance of a British passenger plane.

Malley, who just suffered from losing her husband in an accident some time ago, is dealing with a troubled adopted son. She tries to figure out the plane's location before disappearing. While discovering the aircraft's location, they had only found one survivor.

During this investigation, Malley and the team go back and forth on whether it's terrorism or suicide from the pilot. But the story keeps you guessing until the end of the final two episodes, which makes a satisfying ending.

I absolutely loved Departure; it might just be my favorite new series on Peacock so far! The performances by Panjabi and Plummer were truly marvelous, and they complement each other so well. The writing was solid, and while I wasn’t sure about the mother-son story at first, it really turned around for me once I learned what happened to Malley's husband and what her son did for her. I highly recommend giving this six-episode series a watch; you won’t be disappointed!

Overall, this first season is an 8.5/10.

You can catch Departure, which is available now on Peacock Streaming Service.
