Last week's episode focused on Ruzek; this time, we're diving into Atwater's journey—personally and professionally. I’m excited to share my thoughts on the episode!
"Off Switch" presented an exceptional narrative focused on Atwater. Once again, he strives to achieve equilibrium between his professional responsibilities and personal challenges as he collaborates with the intelligence unit on a robbery case while managing his obligations as the building superintendent. At one critical juncture, the immense pressure becomes palpable as Atwater attempts to balance various demands within the police station.
Additionally, the episode explores the development of a professional relationship between Atwater and a forensic psychologist whom he encounters at a bar on the night of the robbery call. This psychologist becomes involved in the investigation by assisting the victim who witnessed the crime. While their collaboration experiences several fluctuations, by the episode's conclusion, their partnership has been successfully reconciled, indicating that Atwater has finally entered into a romantic relationship.
LaRoyce Hawkins delivers a remarkable performance, establishing himself as the central figure of the intelligence unit. It was noted on social media that Ruzek, Burgess, and Atwater, once youthful officers, have now ascended to leadership within the unit, an observation that evokes a sense of nostalgia. Overall, this episode is an outstanding contribution to the series.
Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock.
Excellent episode 👍 I could see Kevin and Val in a long term relationship. Kevin deserves to be happy. He would make an amazing husband and unbelievable father.
