This week's episode of Chicago Fire had us on the edge of our seats! It gave us some thrilling moments and unraveled another intriguing Fire Cop mystery. Let's dive into the recap!
Our 51 gang gets a call about a Chinese restaurant fire, which knocks Ritter off the second floor and lands him in the bushes. Thankfully, he recovered, so we can take a deep breath. But that only led to Severide questioning the fire and putting his Fire Cop cap back on to investigate, which was arson by a family member.
Meanwhile, Stella tells Pascal that Damon is the right fit for 51, but Pascal doesn't like this. He questions why she's bringing this up now and mentions that her team is again dealing with the overturn. Pascal talks with Damon, and it looks like Damon is more like Benny than ever as he lies to him about the boat accident call from last week.
It doesn't look suitable for Stella, as Pascal will transfer her instead of Damon. That is until Mouch gives Pascal proof of Stella's leadership and the deal of the overturn. Let's face it, Damon got the boot.
Violet needs help knowing whether Carver got her message about how she misses him. During a call, she and Novak deal with an accidental overdose child, but the ambulance suffers from the disconnected battery, thanks to good old Illinois potholes, but makes it to Med in time. But that isn't all, as Violet learns from Carver's new lady that she deleted Violet's messages to him. Carver's girlfriend tells her to back away from him as she isn't letting Craver go again. No one plays Violet like that!
"All Kind of Crazy" aptly encapsulates the events of this episode, considering the numerous unforeseen occurrences, including Ritter's injury and the Pascal-Stella-Damon storyline, which reached a satisfying conclusion with Doman's departure. However, with Damon no longer a part of the narrative, one might question what direction the storyline will take. Is there a possibility of Gibson's return?
Moreover, the constant influx of new characters has become tedious. It has been some time since we have witnessed a consistent ensemble remain for over one season. The current narrative also features a love triangle, which I hope resolves favorably with Violet and Carver. On a positive note, we had the opportunity to observe Pascal demonstrate empathy towards our team during this week’s episode.
Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
