One Chicago Recap: Chicago Med "Bad Habits"/Chicago Fire "Down the Rabbit Hole"/Chicago PD "Water and Honey"

Missed out on One Chicago? Here's a recap!

Chicago Med "Bad Habits"

It's Halloween at Chicago Med, and the layout is to expect the unexpected.

Ripley treats a nun who happens to have been pregnant, but it turns out to be a miscarriage that needs surgery. While taking care of the sister, Ripley discovers that Lynne's son was brought into the ED but is upset when he finds out that Lynne wasn't with her son but at a get-together party. He talks about it not to Asher but to the nun about it and talks to Lynne about being there for her and the baby.

Asher and Maggie help a pregnant woman who can't attend the prenatal clinic hours. They get the go-ahead to help her from Goodwin and find out that the patient's baby has a low heart rate. After finding out the cause, they treated her, but it was us who got the treatment as the patient's son, who is autistic, has an outburst in the ED but who other than Dr. Lenox to come in and help calm the kid down.

Goodwin gets spooked at home when she hears someone in her house. Instead, she pepper sprays her neighbor's kid. But she learns that someone was in her home from the neighbor's door cam that night. Who could it be?

Charles and Nurse Jackie treat a patient about to lose custody of his child for his outburst and see that he hurt himself. It looks like all signs were pointing to that he might be mentally ill, but once Charles learns of the patient's medical history, like asthma and the meds that he's taken. Dr. Frost gets some Halloween spooks and scares when he helps treat a few young patients bitten by a bat.

"Bad Habits" was an excellent episode from start to finish, from the staff at med getting ready for the trick-or-treaters from the children's floor to getting spooked by Frost's patients of the bat bites. But I think it was when Dr. Lenox stole the episode, opening her kindness to help the autistic child calm down. It reminded me of Sarah Ramo's Hannah in the NBC series Parenthood. If you haven't seen that show, you must even in November; it's a must-see.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Chicago Fire "Down the Rabbit Hole"

When a semi-truck accident occurs for the third time in the last six months, Stella and Severide investigate to learn that the trucking company is doing illegal things. Stella tries to get one of their employees to help them but cannot because she fears losing her job. Instead, the employee's son got the mother to come clean about what was happening.

Herrmann gets Kylie's help to get new radios for his truck team. Still, after trying to convince them of their radio's failures, it is Kylie to the rescue who goes over the firehouse budget and makes the necessary cuts to get those new radios that happened to have made Squad jealous.

It's Violet's birthday, and who came to the party? Carver! He tells Tori he is working overtime at the firehouse, but that doesn't last long, as Tori stops at Molly's (where the party is) and gets mad at him. But it would be Carver who will get angry at her as he learns that Tori deleted the text messages that Violet had sent him for the past few weeks. Could we see a breakup happening? In the meantime, as that was going down, Violet met a nice, heroic guy who helped her and Novak on a call and might be taking one of Violet's classes. Here we go!

"Down the Rabbit Hole" was a good episode. I enjoyed Stella's attempt to help the mother and son. The Herrmann and Kylie story was so good, and it just made me excited to see what these two have in store for when they work together. And what can I really say about the Violet-Carver thing? Will Carver end it with Tori or go down the rabbit hole again? But just when his relationship is about to implode, Violet is taking a new relationship.

I give "Down The Rabbit Hole" an 8.5/10.

Chicago P.D. "Water and Honey"

When Cook questions an investigation, she goes to Intelligence for help only to help lead in the investigation. They learn that the victim was a juvenile and that two of her friends were part of an abuse situation that led to one of the suspects being murdered and the other hunting them down.

As Torres and Cook work together, they bond through their experience and Cook's relationship with her boss. As Cook tries to talk to one of the victims, she gets her to talk about where her friend is as she's in trouble, too, with the other suspect hunting her. Just as they find her, they, of course, chase her to a house where she is caught by the suspect.

That is until Cook goes to a flooded basement, spots the victim, and quickly gets in a fight with the suspect. Cook takes him down, and Torres saves the victim. After all that, Torres gives Cook the offer to join the team, but after fighting back and worrying about her boss, she takes the offer.

"Water and Honey" was a solid and exciting episode from start to finish. I couldn't get enough of the chemistry of Torres and Cook's partnership, which excited me to see what this season would bring. When Torres offered Cook the position in Intelligence, it was so exciting and felt like the Doctor asking his next companion to join in the next adventure in Doctor Who. It was such a good moment. Gwen does it again!

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
