One Chicago Recap: Chicago Med "Not To Forget"/Chicago Fire "Birds of Prey"/Chicago P.D. "Pawns"

Here's a recap of this week's episodes of One Chicago.

Chicago Med "Not To Forget"

This week's episode of Chicago Med has things heating up with Lenox and Archer, but that's not always a good thing, as they butted heads when their patient, who requires life-or-death brain surgery, is waiting for his parent's consent on the surgery but instead gets the permission from the kid's camp consular, who has the papers to do so. That didn't go so well with Archer, and while the hospital allowed it, it didn't go so well for Lenox and even the parents of the kid, who learned that he had died.

Goodwin gets word of the person who sent the threatening note, but later, after being in police protection thanks to Atwater, she gets word that they got the guy and will be treated at Med. Yikes! Talk about an awkward situation. Will that be the end of this storyline?

As the first mobile prenatal clinic is underway, Maggie gets pulled to help a teenage girl deliver her baby. But that's not all, as Maggie tries to give her advice about whether or not to keep her baby and tell her mom. Don't worry; after a talk with Maggie, the mother helps her daughter decide whether or not to keep it.

Frost and Charles help a patient who was in the same accident as Archer and Lenox's patient. But this time, the kid seemed fine until he didn't remember any personal information about himself; even his mother came, and he didn't recognize her. After talking to the mother, Charles experiments on the kid with a relaxing medication, which actually helps, and even dives into why he has been having behavior issues.

"Not to Forget" was a solid episode. Some of the stories were solid, from Maggie helping the teenage girl deliver her baby to the dynamic between Charles, the kid, and his mother, which kept me interested. I'm enjoying the tensions between Archer and Lenox, but even the start of the conflict in this episode was so-and-so. Granted, it did improve with the camp consular guardianship decision to get that kid into surgery.

I know that Lenox hasn't won anyone over these past six episodes; even the previous episode showed some humility (if you want to call it). But something is interesting about her that has me wanting to learn about her and their ways of doing things, even though her style is a pain in the butt.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.51/10.

Chicago Fire "Birds of Prey"

This week's episode of Chicago Fire has Severide and Pascal at different ends regarding the state police's sidelining of them in their investigation of ghost guns found during a fire call. Severide pushes Pascal to not let Bishop, the lead investigator in the gun case, take complete control and make their investigation to the bottom of the burn pale. But when Bishop and Pascal meet for a chat, Severide tells him how Bishop knows so much of Pascal; Pascal agrees that Bishop is dirty and soon agrees to work together to try to take Bishop down.

Carver is not having the best week so far. Not only is he getting to work late and even sleeping while there was a call, but his relationship with Tori has really shown us the Carver that kind of started out at 51. He has to realize that he's again gone down another rabbit hole with this relationship.

Meanwhile, Violet's date seems to go well, and even though she was planning for their second date (or third), I wonder when he cancels their next date if he was part of the Bishop case since he said he was working on a case. Mouch deals with an attack by a bird that only attacks him. He tries to get animal control, but let him do it himself when all else fails. He soon realizes that one of the eggs had fallen on top of a bag, and he brings it back to the nest, where both baby birds are quickly born and happy.

"Birds of Prey" was an excellent episode, even with the build-up of whether Pascal is in or out of helping Bishop. I just had the feeling that he wasn't that kind of firefighter and that he was feeling the guy out, even when Bishop brings back Pascal's past in Miami. I can't wait to see what the next episode will bring. Also, does anyone think that Voilet's date is working with Bishop? ch's story was so good and so humorous, which was a nice lighthearted story.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Chicago P.D. "Pawns"

Will she or won't she be a detective?

As Burgess takes her detective's exam, she gets put on a ride along with Detective Suarez on a case, for which Burgess is in charge. It all seems to be going well for Burgess, with first time leading the scene, but its when Suarez gets pressured by Deputy Chief Reid, who wants this case solved quickly as the press has been heating up.

You can see Suarez teaching Burgess how the game is played when the chief is on your butt to solve the case. At one point during a chase with the suspect, both of them spilt up on Suarez's orders) and that's when Burgess catches up with the suspect and soon gets into a fight but shoots and kills him. When Voight arrives, both Suarez and Burgess gives two different stories, which Burgess telling the truth about what had happened.

Later on, Suarez asked Burgess what the favor would be after covering up for her, but she wasn't asking for any. Instead Suarez's gives advice to her that she should transfers to another department to fulfill being a detective as there's just too much protection and safety, for which I could understand, but Burgess doesn't seem to be the person that plays the game in the political world of the Chicago police.

Even though she agreed to it, Burgess gets to be a detective but in Intelligence as Reid, who made the decision, makes a stop and not only tells her but to Voight as well. All I have to ask is what's the favor for this one? But, that's not all as a familiar name is back from Torres' past, Gloria Perez.

"Pawns" was very solid episode and a very good Burgess episode as well. Elizabeth Rodriguaz was amazing as Detective Suarez and even the somewhat of the bonding between her and Burgess felt intense at times. I do wonder if this decision from Reid will have a backlash in the season to come. And Perez is coming back? Holy crap!

Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.
