Great news, ChiHards, One Chicago is staying put.
Just as One Chicago returns with the final three episodes of the season, on Monday, TVLine has learned that NBC has renewed Chicago Fire for Season 14, Chicago P.D. for Season 13, and Chicago Med for Season 11.
Season-to-date, Fire is currently averaging 7.9 million viewers, including those who catch up via delayed playback. This marks a slight dip of just 9% compared to last year, yet it proudly holds the top spot among all the dramas NBC has presented this season. When looking at all broadcasting dramas, it sits at a commendable fifth place. Meanwhile, Med also performs well with 7.6 million viewers, down only 5% from last year, making it NBC's second-most-watched drama. P.D. follows with 7 million viewers, experiencing a 10% decrease year-over-year, ranking third among NBC dramas.
The renewal follows the news from Deadline in April that there will be cast changes next season. Jake Lockett (firefighter Sam Carver) and Daniel Kyri (firefighter Darren Ritter) will not return to the show as "part of an effort to trim the budget" of the long-running series.
Of course, we expected both shows to return, even if we don't like the outcome of losing cast members. But you got to take the good with the bad sometimes.

One Chicago returns with new episodes on Wednesday, May 7th, on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock.
I am excited, especially about Chicago PD's renewal. Kevin Atwater is my favorite character. I hope Kevin and Val get married next season.
