Recap: Ghost "Kyle"

When someone else shares the same power as Sam, could that create tension in her relationship with Jay? And what about Sass—will he finally take the plunge? Let’s dive into a recap!

When Pete finds himself in Canada, he runs into Kyle at a cozy diner. To his surprise, Kyle can actually see him! This revelation sends a thrill of excitement through Pete, and he eagerly follows Kyle, leading him to an enchanting encounter with Sam at the beautiful mansion. As soon as Kyle and Sam meet, there’s a wonderful spark between them, fueled by their incredible ability to see ghosts. Watching them share laughs and stories about their ghostly adventures makes Jay jealous.

When his sister discovers an article about Kyle’s break-in, Sam talks with Kyle and learns the entire story. Later on, after another heartfelt moment, Kyle leans in for a kiss, but Sam, channeling her inner Pete, playfully blocks his face! Eventually, both Sam and Jay express their apologies for what happened. In a sweet moment, Sam also shares with Jay that Kyle had tried to make a pass at her. Despite that, Sam emphasizes how much Jay means to her, and the two share a touching moment together.

In the meantime, Sass and Joan are looking for the perfect moment to share a special experience, although watching a branch fall from a tree isn't romantic! Joan lets Sass know she's ready, but he feels he could use a little guidance because she's not quite picking up on the signs she's giving off. Their initial attempts don’t go as planned. Sass tries to playfully toss her onto the bed, but instead, he bounces off and lands outside—what a surprising turn of events! After some time, just when Jay and the others start to worry, Sass finally shows up to share the news that he did, in fact, sleep with Joan.

"Kyle" was another delightful experience packed with hilarious moments and the exciting prospect of encountering someone else who sees ghosts. This season also explored the fascinating dynamics between Jay and Sam, adding an intriguing layer to their relationship. It's wonderful to observe how Sam's joy in bonding with Kyle sometimes makes Jay feel left out. It's especially notable since Jay can't see the ghosts that have been dealt with before—yet Kyle's character brings a refreshing touch to it all, which is truly nice.

Kyle's character had great potential for an engaging episode arc, and I'm glad it turned out well! Ben Feldman was a fantastic choice for the role, bringing so much energy. On a lighter note, the storyline with Sass and Joan sleeping together gave us some really delightful moments, especially that playful scene when they tossed her onto the bed and bounced right off outside the mansion. It's great to see a character like Sass finally having to accomplish something that he has long hoped for.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
