Hacks (S5, Ep. 4-5) "Who's Making Dinner"/"D'Amazing Race"

This week, Hacks serves up a double dose of episodes. Here’s my recap and review of episodes four and five.

Ghosts (S5, Ep. 18) "Under New Management"

Just when Sam and Jay thought their new business partner at Woodstone would be hands-off, things took an unexpected turn, forcing them to fight for the future of their home. This week’s episode, 'Under New Management,' puts the B&B’s autonomy on the line while giving us some hilariously awkward ghost dynamics. Here is my recap and review.

Apple TV's Widow’s Bay, created by Katie Dippold, blends classic horror with humor, producing an atmospheric, unsettling series that honors genre tropes with a cynical twist. Here's my take on the two-episode premiere.

Margo's Got Money Trouble (S1, Ep. 5) "Flamingos"

'Flamingoes,' a tense wedding weekend, mirrored three generations of survivalists. With a marriage built on a 'bed of lies' and a mother-daughter reveal that cut deep, the episode showed that security often costs the truth. Here's my recap of an hour both heartbreaking and neon-soaked.

DMV (S1, Ep. 18) "Abuela"

With the series finale near, DMV's episode was heartfelt and playful. 'Abuela' highlighted the social scene at East Hollywood, showing that winning a coworker's grandmother is a new level of influence. From fitness challenges to humorous corporate 'hatchet men,' it set a heartfelt tone for saying goodbye to our civil servants. Here's my recap and review.

Margo's Got Money Trouble (S1, Ep. 4) "Buddies"

Buddies' explores digital stardom and Margo's legacy, with a legendary guest and a powerful closing scene, making it a surprisingly poignant comedy. Here's my review.

Hacks (S5, Ep. 3) "No New Tricks"

As Hacks nears its finale, it returned to Vegas to explore the peril of being a fool. 'No New Tricks' centered on risk—buying a dying casino, dating a coin-pulling man, and the danger of revealing true self. Here's my recap and review.

Ghosts (S5, Ep. 17) "The Investor"

After last week’s poker game drained Sam and Jay’s bank accounts, the Arondekars sought a miracle. In 'The Investor,' that miracle came through a political power with a decades-old grudge threatening to split the Woodstone family. In a landmark episode ending a five-season silence, the series showed that, while money is scarce, true friendship justifies the risk of seeming crazy. Here's my recap and review.

DMV (S1, Ep. 17) "Drive-ory Tower"

This week, Colette found her position and disliked it. 'Drive-ory Tower' explored the unseen lines between the front desk and examiners' booths, showing that bridging 'us' and 'them' often leaves everyone feeling displaced. From nickname crises to a poignant confession about a bird injury, the episode reminded us that bureaucratic hearts have history. Here's my recap and review.

Hacks (S5, Ep. 2) "Number One Fan"

After after surviving her own death hoax, Deborah Vance shifts from mourning to weaponizing her legacy. In an episode that skewered 'stan' culture and highlighted her core relationship, 'Number One Fan' showed Deborah aims not just for a comeback but an empire. From a fierce campaign at Madison Square Garden to a tender 30th birthday, it balanced satire with the intimate bond between two women. Here's my recap and review.

Ghosts (S5, Ep. 16) "Woodstone Royale"

Sam and Jay, facing a $200,000 IRS debt, switch from bed-and-breakfasts to gambling in 'Woodstone Royale.' This episode turns the mansion into a scene of celebrity cameos, spectral espionage, and bureaucratic bad luck haunting Sam and Jay. It’s a fast-paced mix of heart and tension, like Molly’s Game meets Beetlejuice. Here’s my recap and review.

Margo's Got Money Trouble (S1, Ep. 1-3) "The Hungry Ghost"/"Homecoming"/Jinxed" Series Premiere

Apple TV+ dives into the messy-millennial genre with a wrestling twist. Margo’s Got Money Troubles, premiering this week, is set in the debt-ridden suburbs of Fullerton, California. Led by Elle Fanning and a strong cast, the first three episodes mix heartbreak and humor. Here’s my recap and review.

CBS has become the first Broadcast network to announce its fall schedule, and they've made some changes.

DMV (S1, Ep. 16) "Fresh Ink"

This week’s South Hollywood DMV episode showed that sometimes no press is better than bad press. 'Fresh Ink' was a case of good intentions gone wrong, as the staff dealt with public perception, harsh reviews, and losing a wager. Though the stakes were minor, the comedy highlighted why this crew is the most dysfunctional branch in the state. Here's my recap and review.

Hacks (S5, Ep. 1) "EGOT" Season Premiere

In comedy, they say dying is easy—it’s the legacy that’s hard. The final season premiere of Hacks literalized that, bringing Deborah Vance back from a death hoax to face her own immortality. In an hour that was a media satire and personal chess match between two comedy titans, 'EGOT' showed why this show is the gold standard of character-driven comedy. Here's my recap and review of the start of the season end.

Ghosts (S5, Ep. 15) "Michael Jackson Goes to HR"

This week, the spotlight was on the 90s 'finance bro' and his exhausted human proxy. Trevor’s past indiscretions clash with HR realities, forcing Jay into a corporate nightmare that even a fake identity can't fix. Here's my recap of 'Michael Jackson Goes to HR.'

St. Denis Medical (S2, Ep. 18) "We Make Time" Season Finale

In this Season 2 finale, St. Denis staff chose to pause and support one of their own, shifting from busy workplace humor to a heartfelt, emotional story about family bonds. As Ron faced surgery, masks came off, and the episode became one of the most touching of the year. Here’s my recap of the finale.

Hacks Season 4

Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac, but for Deborah and Ava, it’s more like a grenade without a pin. Season 4 of Hacks didn't just shift the stakes; it destroyed the stadium. Picking up after last season’s brutal betrayal, the show became a high-stakes psychological battle between a comedy legend fighting to protect her legacy and a protégé learning to fight dirty. Here's my take on a season that proves the only thing more dangerous than Deborah Vance is an Ava Daniels leverage.

St. Denis Medical (S2, Ep. 17) "Here a Righteous Woman Comes"

They say in hospitals you’re either holding a clipboard or in a gown, but this week’s St. Denis Medical showed life seldom respects those lines. During an emotionally intense hour, the 'Welcome to Life' birthing center's opening became the scene for a health crisis and a romantic breakthrough, from Joyce’s sacrifice to a pivotal parking lot kiss. 'Here a Righteous Woman Comes' was a standout. Here's my recap and review.

St. Denis Medical (S2, Ep. 16) "Experience with Human Babies"

Opening a top birthing center should be a career highlight, but at St. Denis, it’s more about professional sabotage and personal awkwardness. This week, staff faced hiring crises, high-altitude rescues, and Oregon's biggest stationery theft. From Joyce’s romantic struggles to Matt’s leap of faith, 'Experience with Human Babies' shows that surviving a day with these coworkers is tougher than bringing new life into the world. Here’s my recap and review.
