Can Alex accept some help from Serena at work for a co-worker's baby shower? Here's a recap!
When alex has a lot on his plate at work and accidentally forgets to prepare for a co-worker's baby shower. Thankfully, Serena steps in to lend a hand and help sort things out. However, as Serena organizes everything, Alex feels a bit uneasy since it's different from how she's handled other parties for their co-workers. This makes her feel a little frustrated, and before long, she's getting involved and putting things together too!
Later, when everyone gathers at the shower, the co-worker feels grateful for everything Alex has done. However, Alex quickly points out that it was actually Serena who did a fantastic job organizing everything. When the atmosphere is bright and cheerful, the co-worker innocently asks about cupcakes, even though only donuts are available. Alex and Sernea joke about the co-worker's comments and seem to be best friends again.
In the midst of all the feedback from his fellow doctors and nurses, Matt realizes that he feels a bit out of place at work because of the mistakes he's made under pressure. Bruce steps up to lend a helping hand, though it might not always go smoothly since he sometimes likes to tease Matt, like that time a patient walked in with an arrow wound- and it turned out to be an actress in costume! But there's no need to worry; Matt gathers his courage and impresses Bruce and the rest of the team during a shower scene.
Joyce has lunch with a drug representative friend, but Ron isn't keen on it. During their conversation, Joyce worries about potential sales pitches. Her friend offers an exciting trip to a conference, but Joyce declines. However, Ron, hearing about the trip and its golfing opportunity, later decides to pass too. They talk about Joyce's other friends in the industry. At a shower, Ron invites Joyce to karaoke, and she recognizes her wonderful circle of friends beyond the industry.
"Anything to Push Zaluva" was such a delightful episode, brimming with charming character development and clever writing! I absolutely adore Alex and Serena's friendship- they're such awesome BFFs, even when they have their little disagreements over planning a baby shower. And can we talk about how hilarious the Bruce-Matt relationship was? It was totally bonkers at times, especially when Bruce pulled that wild stunt with actors in the hospital! I was so thrilled to see Matt finally stand up for himself and tell Bruce to back off- it's something we haven't really seen this season. And oh my, the Joyce-Ron situation was just too funny! I found myself cringing a bit, especially watching Joyce try to navigate the awkwardness with the drug rep. You could really feel Joyce's anxiety about it!
Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
