Moving Forward: This Is Us "The Adirondacks" Season Finale
The season five finale was as good as it could have gotten, especially for that twisted ending. Here's a recap!
It's Kevin and Madison's wedding day, and it's not going too well with Kevin, as things are going the way he had hoped it would be, perfect. As Kevin shows his groomzilla, Randall, Miguel, Tobey, and Uncle Nicky try to help as much as possible.
Meanwhile, as everyone had arrived, Rebecca wanted to hear about Randall's trip and learn about his biological mother, which she got overwhelmed and made Randall uncomfortable. But the two resolved the issue, and she learned quite a bit about Laura.
Tess wasn't too happy with the bride's maid of honor dress, so Beth decided to help her make it into her own style. Deja awaited her from Malik about his college interviews and got a surprise when he told her that he not only got four out of four but five out of five because he's got an offer from Harvard.
Tobey gives Kate good news about him taking that job offer in San Fransico, but that means he'll have to be there three times a week, which he thought that they could move. As Kate called her boss to tell him that she would resign but he wouldn't because she's the best assistant that he's had, even if he didn't really want her at first.
In a flashback, we see Rebecca upset that Jack taped a Pittsburgh Pirates game over her taped Dynasty wedding episode and had the kids see them fight for the first time. Not only did they try to show them that they love each other, but they put on a wedding for them as well.
As Madison prepares for her wedding, she looks back to when her mother left her and her father and the time that her father wasn't all there for her. Not to mention learning how she got into the eating disorder program in the pilot episode. That's when she decided that she didn't want to marry Kevin and called off the wedding.
After the wedding was called off, Rebecca, Randall, and Kate comfort Kevin. In their conversation, Rebecca asks Kevin to build her that house that Jack had planned to do. Plus, in a five-year flash-forward, we come back to when Kevin was practicing his speech, we thought it was for his wedding, but it turns out to be Kate's wedding...to her boss from the music school! WTF!
"The Adirondacks" was such a great season finale that had many great moments; one of them I just ate up was Randall being there for Kevin, like holding the umbrella for him as he tries to avoid Rebecca talking about his mother. Nicky's wedding gift and well that powerful seen when we see the Pearsons together talking about what would Jack have said and talked about the future (which had me in tears).
Talk about shocker, right? I didn't see that one coming at all. Kate and her boss getting married? Wow! I was at least thinking of Kevin and Sophie getting married. Man, I can't wait to see where the final season will go and how it will end.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10 and the season a 9/10.

Thoughts:
This season finale for both Med, Fire, and PD is all hands on deck type of watching. I think that PD might have another great ending to the season (once again).
Even though we know that April and Natalie are leaving, I just wonder if Natalie will be the one to save Will's career one more time? Will Dean take responsibility for what had happened to Ethan? I can't wait!
Fire looks to be so good. That proposal was epic in last week's episode! Casey's speech to Brett that he loves her and that Dawson is no more got me all excited! Is that what gets Brett a bit cloudy during a call in the season finale? I feel there's going to be a surprise yet to come, I just don't know what.
PD, let's just call it for what it is, I wanted Wednesday to get here as soon as possible. Why did no one go with Burgess? And I just wonder if this will drag into next season?
This is a "get your popcorn ready" type of finale!
Excited for the season finale? What do you think will happen? Leave a comment below!
The season finale of Chicago Med, Fire, and PD airs this Wednesday beginning at 8/7c on NBC and airing the next day on PeacockTV.

Helping and Settling: Single Parents "Hip$ for Dolores"/"Untz, Untz, Untz"

"Hip$ or Dolores"
Poppy gets a letter from her landlord at her wineberry of the rent increased, everyone tries to help her out with money. Poppy and Will tries to sell her engagement ring for a lot more money, but it turns out that it's worth around $200. She did tell Will how the store has really built her self-esteem after leaving her ex-husband.Meanwhile, Angie, Miggy, Rory, and Graham try to get money from Angie's co-workers from donations to even feeling bad at knocking Graham's foot to the floor. As soon as they got their money together, they've lost it after Angie's story was actually true.
Even Doug tries to help manage Poppy's store with some drastic measures, but as soon as everyone came back, Angie and Miggy brought back enough money as they sold Miggy's calendars at the office.
"Hip$ for Dolores" was funny at times with its simple story of the gang trying to help raise money for Poppy's store. It had perfect moments like Poppy telling Will how the store had changed her from leaving her ex-husband.
"Untz, Untz, Untz"
After another night spending the night at Doug's house, Miggy gets Doug to consider staying at Poppy's house, which turned into a disaster. First, Doug didn't enjoy it because of not getting in his evening routine, not to mention trying to find a place for his toothbrush and Poppy playing Frasier episodes so loud that she fell asleep. And the kicker comes to the bed as he couldn't get comfortable.Poppy didn't enjoy it either. As Doug was too moving in the bed and even talking in his sleep. The two settle their difference and Facetime each other as their new sleeping arrangement.
Meanwhile, Angie tries to hit it off with Colin by using Sophie to bond with his son, as Will takes Graham to have a boy's night. But Graham finds a woman and disappoints Will. Angie's date night that she was hoping for didn't go the way she had hoped but ended well after Sophie finally enjoyed Colin's son after talking about apples.
"Untz, Untz, Untz" was another fun episode. I very much enjoyed watching this episode with both stories as they were hilarious and so enjoyable. This was yet another good performance from the cast, and the writing was as good too. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
You can catch Single Parents Wednesdays at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.

Personal Struggles: Chicago PD "Intimate Violence"/"Before the Fall"

"Intimate Violence"
When an armed robbery goes homicide, the Intelligence Unit relies on the witness, who happens to be the wife of one of the armed robbers. Jay and Hailey work together to get the suspect's wife to bust their next heist, but it turns into a bust when Jay overhears her getting beaten by her husband. While the suspect is arrested, they try to get him to turn over his team, but he won't.Hailey learns that their suspect was let go and calls Jay to find the suspect's wife beaten once again. Jay not only kicked that guy's butt and took the wife out of the house and got her and her child a flight to Pheinox, Az. Jay learns from Hailey that what he did was very good and tells him how she dealt with the abusive father hitting her mother over the years.
"Intimate Violence" was an excellent and one of the best Halstead-Upton episodes. Both characters had some good to solid character developments, mainly Hailey Upton. The writing was good as well. Soffer and Spiridakos work so well together, and their chemistry
is so good. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
"Before the Fall"
Fixing and Saving: Chicago Fire "The Tendency of a Drowning Victim"/"Protect a Child"

"The Tendency of a Drowning Victim"
When 51 gets called to a cave in the lake, Casey wastes no time putting his men in the freezing water to search for a dead victim. But he gets a twist that it turns into a scam of a fiance being taken out of her money so he can afford more for his model aircraft collection. The case does put Casey and Severide at odds, but not for long.Lilly returns to 51 to ask Herrmann for help to find her a place for her new bakery. But when Herrmann tries to do what he did for Molly, it becomes a new ballgame. That doesn't mean he hasn't given up on her but instead helps invest in her business.
Brett and her birthmother bond, but trouble comes when she starts having Braxton hicks contractions. But she did ask the question about her and Casey after she had met him. As Casey awaits them at the ED desk, the doctor tells Casey about Gallo coming to visit that little girl who got burned.
Boden is on a rampage at 51, which doesn't have to do with the fire department. Donna has him on a diet and takes his anger at everyone on 51, so Kidd steps up to help with him until Ritter and Gallo devise a way to enjoy a diet.
"The Tendency of a Drowning Victim" was an excellent episode from start to finish. Casey has a perfect story in this episode with the twists and turns of the car accident. And the Casey-Severide bromance, while having some bumps, always ends with a nice ending, this time with steak with Kidd. Watching those three at the end reminded me of Casey, Severide, and Dawson seasons ago. Brett's mother is on board for the #Bresey train. And I couldn't get enough of Boden and Kidd in this episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
"Protect a Child"
When 51 rescues a disabled mother and her child from a house fire, it turns into an issue with the DCFS that gets Casey all fired up. After receiving multiple complaints from the neighbor about how the mother was unfit to care for her child, the BCFS took the child away. After another rescue at a warehouse factory, Casey and Gallo talk to the caseworker about comparing that mother to a group of prominent men trying to help save their friend at the warehouse. Also, Casey tells the story about Lou, an experience that was brought to him. In the end, both the mother and child were reunited.Herrmann believes he should have quarters like Casey, Severide, and Boden, but Boden disagrees. Herrmann takes the spot right between Casey and Severide but soon causes a small fire that has him reporting to the fire academy by Chief Walker.
After seeing young girls hanging out with bad crowds, Kidd wants to help bring young women to the world of firefighters with a Girl on Fire program. After getting positive responses, Kidd needed to find a partner to help her; Severide advised her to have Wendy help. After asking her, she's all in.
Brett's mother, Julie, makes another visit and asks Brett for help finding a place to live in Chicago. After making a call that didn't need both Foster and her, Brett meets a realtor to help find a few places. After meeting, the guy asks Brett out, but after thinking about it,t she turns the guy down. Maybe she's waiting to see where Casey will go, like when Casey was waiting to see where Brett was going.
"Protect a Child" was such a good and heartwrenching episode. I say heart-wrenching because of the story of the mother and child splitting up by DCFS, and also, we relive a bit of history of Casey and Dawson having Louie for a short and painful time. It stays with you for sure—I greatly loved Herrmann's story in this, as it was just downright hilarious. Also, I love Kidd stepping up to make this program work. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
You can catch Chicago Fire on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Family is Family: Chicago Med "Who Should Be The Judge"

Two doctors are kidnapped. There's good news for Maggie, while a family reunion isn't what it seems. Here's a recap!
As Crockett and Natalie walk to Med, they get pulled into an unexpected emergency that ends up being a kidnapping to help a prisoner get to his dying son. But will one make it out alive? Of course, when Crockett saves the guy from killing himself.
Meanwhile, Will visits Hannah at rehab and sees that she's not taking anything to ease her way out of the addiction. After treating one of Dr. Charles' patients, Will tries to sneak something to help her, but she refuses and kicks him out.
April and Ethan are part of a family reunion miracle as a daughter is reunited with her biological birth mother, who needs an organ donation. But something doesn't seem right, and it turns out that they aren't biologically related, and it turns out that the daughter's friend used her job at the Foster Care Service to locate her. Even though they both knew, they didn't care and became a real blended family.
Maggie waits for the news of her test. After a hell of a day, she gets the good news that she deserves, cancer is gone and in return, Ben is there to help get her to celebrate. But what celebration does she want, the one with wedding bells and Ben at her side?
"Who Should Be the Judge" was an excellent episode. While Natalie and Crockett's storyline was thrilling, adding Jay was good too. I worry that this could start up something between the characters that I don't think should be. The family reunion, which really wasn't, was an excellent story, and there was a nice twist at the end that was heartwarming. The episode had good writing and good character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
You can catch the 100th episode of Chicago Med tonight at 8/7c on NBC.

Reflection of Life and Art: This Is Us ""New York, New York, New York"
"New York, New York, New York," tells of a such a moving story of Rebecca as we see three different stories past and present. We see Rebecca Jack and the big three going to New York City for the day, but after a few delays, everyone got to see what they wanted except for Rebecca, who missed out visiting a museum.
Another would be when Rebecca, Randall, and Beth visit Kevin and Sophie in New York City to see Kevin's show. Kevin takes everyone for pizza and tries to introduce his teacher to Rebecca, trying to maybe set them up. Even Rebecca does go out with that guy, she didn't get to see the museum that she tried to go see when she remembers a moment when she, Jack and the family rode in a horse carriage.
The present: Randall has found a place where Rebecca can go for her condition and gets Kevin and Kate's approval to back him up. But when Kevin takes Rebecca to the red carpet of his premiere, Kevin wants to hold back but Randall tells her anyway and upsets her.
As Rebecca walks off, Kevin and Randall find her at the museum where she has always wanted to go since she was a child to look at a painting that she describes. She tells them that she doesn't want to go for that trial and wants to live out her life to the fullest with her family. But they leave, Kevin tells Randall that she wants what she wants but Randall thinks that she's doing this because she's scared and tells Kevin that he's been living a "what if" in his head every day since that fire. Next week's episode will be a "what if" Jack lived after that fire.
This was an amazing episode from start to finish, probably one of the best episodes of the season that gave us a lot to take in. As a caretaker for a relative for 10 years, this episode hits a bit close to home just a little. I can see that if Kevin could just use the right words towards Randall that they could be on board with each other. Both have different opinions towards this situation and while I think Randall's belief is correct; I lean towards Kevin's belief as he respects his mother's decision.
Mandy Moore gives her best performance in this episode. But it was that moment when Kevin and Randall found Rebecca at the museum and she describes the meaning of the painting. When the camera is at Rebecca's face as she describes the meaning of the painting, it not only gave goosebumps and a tearful moment, but from that point understand that her decision to not take the drug trial was a meaningful one and it's a decision that she finally makes. If Mandy Moore doesn't get an Emmy nomination or a win for that matter something is deadly wrong.
Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.
You can catch This Is Us Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Welcome to the Fight: Chicago PD "The Forgotten"

Politics is such a dirty game, but will Voight be involved? Here's a recap!
"The Forgotten is another powerful episode that circles around Hank Voight and his relationship with a longtime C.I. that's been working since the days with Al. After doing one last job for Voight, Lexi, the CI, gets kidnapped. Voight and the team try to find her; but learn that the suspect that took Lexi is connected to a string of kidnapped stripers/dancers to torture and kill.
To makes things a lot worst; Kelton was involved in the previous investigations of these murders; plus kept it quiet because of getting a promotion for keeping crime down. After searching and finding their suspect, just as Voight was so close; the suspect gets killed by another detective that had no business being there.
After using the dead suspect's GPS on his car, they find a location where Lexi, but it was too late as she was dead. The death of Lexi, who was so close leaving the city to be with her ailing mother; hurt Voight and even give Ray Price inside information about Kelton to use in his campaign for mayor. OF course, Voight doesn't like to get into politics but after what just happened, all gloves are off.
This was another fine episode that had so much character development between Lexi and Voight, From learning how she helped saved his life to listening; to them talking about the good old days with Al. The episode really builds up and just when you thought she might still be alive. Ouch! It hurts. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
You can catch Chicago PD Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

All Hail The Great.....: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "Cinco De Mayo"

The Heist is BACK! Who's worthy of the belt?! Find out and see!
"Cinco De Mayo" gave us an episode that we hoped we would get after NBC picked up the show from FOX. The Heist is back and even though it wasn't on Halloween; it made it even better. The episode really steps it up from the previous Heist episode; even though Jake's proposal to Amy was my all time favorite, this one comes close to second.
Just when you think that either Jake could win it; because he's Jake Peralta, one of the best detectives out there. But when it stopped on an injured Terry, after all, he's gone through a lot in this episode just trying to take his mind off of the lieutenant's exam. But the shocker comes when the winner is actually Terry and the scheme that got him to win was all planned out all the way to Halloween of last year as that gas explosion was part of his plan.
As much as I have said about every episode of this season; because this has really been Brooklyn Nine-Nine's best season by far, but this was literally the best episode of the season. The writing was as strong as ever; even the character development with adding Scully's twin brother was a shock to the television viewing system. Adding Kevin to the mix made it even better and not to mention Jake and Amy tasing each other with their gifts that they got each other was just hilarious.
Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.
You can catch Brooklyn Nine-Nine one-hour season finale next Thursday at 9/8c on NBC.

Heroic Moment: Chicago Fire "Fault in Him"/"Move a Wall"

"Fault In Him"
Casey gets a close call to death, while Severide helps out with someone's career and a 51 member has a chance to win $10,000. Here's a recap! When Casey and truck 81 are on a call of a suicide attempt; when they break in the house the cops found the body and no one else. That was until Casey heard something and walked into danger with the dead guy's brother aiming a gun at him and shoot but the gun jammed and Casey made it out alive. The rest of the shift he tries to ask why did this happen to him. Brett tries to help him even asking the Chaplin to help but that didn't go so well. Casey eventually talks to Boden; got probably what he needed from him that he needs to keep moving on.
Severide was asked by Grissom to help make him look good in front of a group of city officials; that's even letting him show the officials a tour of Firehouse 51 and even witness of what they do on a daily basis. After digging dirt and all, Severide gets word from Grissom that he's good and will keep his job.
Mouch receives the winners from the raffle and Otis won third place and will get a sports package. That lead to knowing that the package was tickets to the Blackhawks game and a chance to win $10,000 dollars if he can make a goal. After getting somewhat trained for this Otis finally go up there and missed on the first one, came close on the second and scored on the third.
It seems Brett's relationship with the Chaplin is over after he tells her that he has to stay neutral. It wasn't Casey's fault but in some mind, I think Brett kind of blames him. But this makes a push for Brett and Casey to start a relationship.
"Fault In Him" was a very good episode, with a lot of strong character development and building. I very much enjoyed Casey's story in this episode and what he went through after that event was very good. Even when he was thinking of calling Gabby; it had me on the edge telling him don't do it. After all the bad blood between Grissom and 51, it was so what nice to see things calm down and worked together. Hell, the Otis storyline was hilarious; even had me up on my feet cheering when he made that last goal attempt. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
"Move A Wall"
When something goes wrong on a call, two firefighters will bump head with one another. Plus an investigation leads to a shocking undercover scam. And 51 gets a makeover, will it look better than before? Here's a recap! When a call to an apartment fire, Casey gets upset with Herrmann for acting irresponsibly when he had the fire hose across the street and a car drives by dragging Ritter. It turned into a heated match between the two and soon Herrmann gets the understanding of what's really going on with Casey; as he's still dealing from the event from the previous episode. But after an accident call of a car and truck was a safe rescue, both Herrmann and Casey forgave one another.
During that apartment fire, Kidd notices in the apartment rooms that had a hidden room behind the couch and saw pillows, blankets, and even a doll. She gets this bad vibe that something ain't right and talks with Upton about it; but by the time they get there the room was completely gone from the fire. But talking with the neighbor, they looked into the mail and found a name and an address; there they not only found the kids but also stopped the bad guy that was using the foster system in a scam.
Herrmann apparently gave Cindy permission to decorate the 51 quarters. After taking in all the suggestions, Cindy finally comes up with a look that no one loves. Herrmann had to eat his words and yet might be sleeping in the dog house for a while.
"Move a Wall" was a fine real dramatic episode. This really was a Herrmann episode with him dealing with Casey and Cindy. I thought that Kidd and Severide story was fantastic; at the end, you could see there were still sparks between them which lets hope they can get together. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
You can catch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
