Understand This: Chicago Fire "Blow This Up Somehow"

Another exciting week on Chicago Fire. Here's a recap!

During a call to a crash at a gas station, Casey learns that Gallo has overstepped his order but instead saved a woman who was unconscious and surrounded by gasoline. Casey disciplines Gallo for a couple of days, but after a few days, he and Gallo talk about the situation and come to an understanding.

Meanwhile, it looks like Casey's new love life looks to be taking off, but as she comes to visit him at 51, she notices the way that he looks at Brett, who is on a call. Soon, the two broke things off until Casey could figure out his feelings about Brett again.

Also, Brett and Mackey deal with discipline from the paramedic board as they are questioning why, after a max of fentanyl on a patient who sawed his leg off, wasn't working. They figured that the couple had ripped them off after a call. They finally busted them as someone made a 911 call using the same emergency.

Kidd is stressing out not only about work and the Lieutenant exam but also over Severide. She talks with Boden about maybe taking a year off for the exam. Still, when Severide learns about what's going on, he talks with her about not quitting and soon tells her the truth about what's been going on; while she understands, she doesn't care as she's her person and doesn't back down and would never let Severide go.

"Blow This Up Somehow" was an excellent episode and probably one of my favorite rewatchable episodes for the season. There was so much fun in this episode, not only with Cruz-Herrmann-Mouch and Mouch's tattoo, as that was too funny, but also the Severide and Casey moment in the loft talking about their situation with Stella and Sylvie.

I'll admit I'm so glad that Severide finally talked with Stella, not only to encourage her but also to explain why he's been so distant with her. Even though I thought that it would take a turn for the worst, I was happy to see it end the way it did.

The Gallo and Casey thing was good, and it's good to see Gallo stand his ground and learn a bit from Casey's experience. And while agreeing to what Gallo had to do then, Casey was fitting that he should have radio quickly.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

What did you think of this week's episode? With Stella and Kelly back together, is the next thing a ring? How long will it take for Casey and Brett to embarrass their feelings again? How long will it take for Cruz to tell everyone about the baby? Leave a comment!

You can catch Chicago Fire on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Come Together: Chicago Med "When Did We Begin to Change?" Season Premiere

Chicago Med returns with a season premiere that hit all cylinders. Here's a recap!

"When Did We Begin to Change?" was a very intense, at times, intensely emotional episode to kick off the season. Will rides with Hannah in an ambulance as she comes in from an overdose. Will tries to deny Hannah's actions until he realizes after treating a patient that he thought was in the same boat but wasn't. Will and Hannah break up.

Natalie has moved to "Club Med," where doctors and nurses stay during COVID-19 so they can work and not bring any of that home. She teams up with Crockett with a patient whose cancer is back but can't decide which treatment would be best until it has to go down to Crockett's idea of surgery. The two bonded over the case and Crockett's daughter.

Dr. Charles came back to Med after he suffered from COVID-19. While he was there to help with Will's troubles, it took him a day to realize that his daughter was upset with him for not being mad at her for giving him the disease as she went to a friend's place during the shutdown. As he apologizes, he tells her why she should stay with him, to keep him honest as he tries to hide his feelings.

The big story comes with April and Ethan as they have broken up but are treating patients for COVID-19. There, they're dealing with one patient who needs the ventilator while a patient dies. As the day ends, the nurses and doctors gather on the rooftop, light their phones with a lit candle, and name the names that have died that day.

I can't stress enough that this premiere, while it was exciting and entertaining, was highly emotional. The Natalie and Crockett story was excellent and meaningful; Will's was fun and engaging with that medical case. But it was April and Ethan and dealing with COVID-19 patients that were so heartbreaking. The writers depict what it's like in the ER during this situation. I had a lot of tissues around me by the time this episode ended.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Chicago Fire: #Brettsey To Be or Not To Be

It's been a dilemma since Season Seven, but the question remains that has me going back and forth: Should Sylvie Brett and Matt Casey be in a relationship?

Since the episode in season seven where the spin cycle instructor told Brett that she and Casey were meant for each other, that pretty much got the ball rolling with #Brettsey. At first, I was all for it, but when Gabby Dawson returned and that one night with Casey, things took a back seat.

In my head, questions pop up like what happens if Gabby comes back and reveals to Casey that she had that child and it's his. It seems far-fetched to go on with this show, but things could happen. Heck, we thought he would have a child, but it turned out it wasn't his.

And there's the friendship that, why ruin, the best company these two wouldn't do for helping each other after a traumatic call, like Casey almost getting his head blown away or Brett reuniting and losing her mother. Why ruin a good thing going, right?

And there are these music videos on YouTube of them from scenes that have been fueling me to get me thinking that they should be a couple. It's just wild!

But let's not shine away from this: they both ended their relationship with the Dawson siblings on a rocky but mutual breakup. Brett and Casey connected with a TV series (Emergency) during that game night.

So, after last week's season premiere, I think I've decided where I stand on this. I can't deny that scene of Brett and Casey at her apartment playing Heads Up was the nail in the coffin that I want them to be in a relationship, and hopefully a long term at that, like Severide and Kidd.

Plus, I know that this week's episode will determine whether or not they share their feelings, and the latest promo doesn't shine away from it.

So, as of now, I'm on the entire board with #Brettsey.

Was I crazy about going back and forth on this? What do you guys think? Are you all in for #Brettsey or not? Leave a comment below!

Chicago Fire Season 9 Preview and Thoughts

Could Brett and Casey share their feelings for one another? What drama could be in store for Kidd and Seveide? What's in store for Season 9 of Chicago Fire?

TV Insider laid out a preview for the upcoming season nine of Chicago Fire and talking with the Fire's executive producer Derek Hass. Hass told TV Insider there were going to be many changes that will affect both personal and professional.

"We are going to reflect what the world is like in 2020 for Chicago firefighters, pandemic and all," said Hass. "It will be a year of new challenges."

Changes like paramedic Sylvie Brett, who is breaking in yet another new partner now that Emily Foster will be returning to medical school. She'll be partnering up with a young medic Gianna Mackey, who grew up in the same rough neighborhood as Joe Cruz.

A heads up, look for Brett and Mackey to find themselves in harrowing circumstances. Hass tells, "Don't miss the premiere's last 10 seconds."

Oh boy!

But the one question that has everyone been wanting to know will Brett and Casey begin a serious romance? The first two episodes of the season will tell. Cross your fingers!

Looks like firefighter Stella Kidd will be heading in a new direction when Chief Boden asks her to take the lieutenant's exam. That could cause some tension between her and her boyfriend, Severide, and other members of house 51.

Last season, we've seen the candidates Darren Ritter and Blake Gallo become BFFs in the firehouse. They'll still continue to learn the ropes.

"Ritter has an epic rescue coming up," Hass said. "And he might be taking a break from (his boyfriend)."

While Gallo's efforts to impress EMT Violet Lin has fizzled, he'll now face an even bigger challenge: impress his boss, Captain Casey.

"Especially, if he decides to cowboy a call instead of following orders," Hass warns.

That could surely be another big problem.

I'm just eager to get the season started right now. While I might be excited to see where Brett and Casey might be going, I'm excited to see what's going on with Kidd and Severide.

Yeah, this summer I've been back and forth on whether or not Brett and Casey should be a couple. YouTube music videos have been very helpful. Thank you!

I think that if Kidd and Severide make it through this tension of her taking the exam. Could we be looking at a marriage proposal?

Heck, has Cruz and Chloe gone on their honeymoon between this long break? What has happened at Molly's during this whole pandemic? It can't be good.

The one thing true thing I can say is that once the show has started everything will be so much better now that our best friends are back and we get to hang with them.

What do you think about the upcoming season nine?  What are you looking forward to? Leave a comment!

You can catch the season premiere of Chicago Fire Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 9/8c on NBC.

Tough Decisions: Chicago Fire "51st Original Bell" Season Finale

Chicago Fire Season 8 Episode 20, "51's Original Bell" | Tell-Tale TV

The season finale of Chicago Fire had us questioning whether someone was leaving Firehouse 51. Here's a recap!

Don't Give Up: Chicago Med "A Needle in the Heart" Season Finale

Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 20 Review: A Needle In The Heart - TV ...

The season finale of Chicago Med might not have felt like a season finale but it probably gave us one moment that will help carry us through to the new season. Here's a recap!

In the season finale, Dr. Charles deals with how a patient been putting needles in his heart, while his teenage daughter has been acting strange due to teenage love stuff. But as he questions the patient's means of putting needles in his heart, he realizes that panic attacks might not be just the cause but a genetic condition.

Will starts his day questioning Hannah's whereabouts; as she leaves him in the morning to go to a meeting but forgets her phone. At Med, Will deals with a strange patient that has a nasty skin infection; but the course of treatment almost kills him due to the fact that he used his friend's ID.

But another patient comes in with needle marks on his arm and sees Hannah coming in. The other patient happens to be Hannah's former boyfriend. Will starts to worry and after a talk with Maggie, Will trusts Hannah and they leave Med for the night.

Natalie and Crockett help a boy who has blood in the chest. During surgery, Natalie and Goodwin learn that the New Orleans police have a warrant or Crockett's arrest for murder seven years ago. Natalie does what she does best and learns about Crockett's past. She uses the information that he donated bone marrow and that the recipient who had his bone morrow still has his DNA. That got him cleared while the boy will make a full recovery.

All seemed lost for the Chexton fans, but as Ethan been doing a ride-along with the paramedics. Ethan and his team get a call of a shooting and as they head over there, Ethan goes in to help a boy with a gunshot wound. While being held hostage, Ethan tries to help save the boy. After a few hours, Ethan gets through with the shooter and just as he was going to turn in, SWAT comes in. April is there to make sure Ethan is okay and it looks like they might be with them.

"A Needle in the Heart" doesn't feel like your traditional season finale; that's the thing we need to put in our heads about. Yes, it's a regular episode but it left us with one question that could help carry us through the summer about April and Ethan. Also, Will and Hannah too. I still have doubts about her. Natalie does what Natalie does best she helps her colleagues no matter if she has disagreements or not with them. She cares and that's what we should realize about her character. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med available on all platforms NBC.com, Google Play, iTunes and others. Hopefully, we'll see the show back this fall!

Personal Struggles and Trumpets: Chicago Med "The Ghost from the Past" 100th Episode

Image result for chicago med the ghosts of the past

The 100th episode of Chicago Med was everything and more in this particular episode. Here's a recap!

April's health worsens when she experiences a complication from the IVF treatments. Will gets Dr. Asher to treat April as a sign of trust in the hospital. While it was only a slight complication due to overdoing the IVF, April tells Ethan that it's still her fault because of her kissing Crockett. Ethan didn't take it well.

Before that had happened, Ethan and Crockett were treating a cop who took a bullet to save a kid. But during surgery, there happened to be another bullet wound years ago. They tried to ask him questions about it, but the cop kept denying it. After Ethan almost ripped Crockett's head off, the cop confessed to what had happened and soon told Platt about it, too.

Dr. Charles and Natalie treat a daughter who seems to have no health issues whatsoever, but another colleague believes that the mother is medically abusing her daughter. Dr. Charles realizes it's not what they were thinking, but the mother had PTSD due to seeing her daughter born premature and almost dying.

Dr. Charles tried to bond with his 13-year-old daughter, who was in trouble for vaping at school. While Dr. Charles attempted to converse with her, it was more of a lecture talk. But after she witnesses him and other doctors with that mother, Dr. Charles takes her away and has a heart-to-heart conversation about not being there for her, and he'll do better.

Throughout the episode, Maggie tries to get her wedding on track, but things get complicated at the wire of the event. Ben, who's been trying to ask to help, comes up with a brilliant wedding at a bowling alley (of all places). After the wedding, the party went bowling.

"The Ghost from the Past" was an excellent episode. April and Ethan could be on the verge of a breakup. Should we be worried about Natalie with Crockett?  Will and Dr. Asher, while friends, could be a thing down the road. While everything in this episode was so good, the Dr. Charles stories and Maggie's wedding were my standouts. I thought Anna Belknap was so good and the second CSI: NY actor in the last couple of episodes. Any chance we'll see her again? That wedding was such fun to watch. I loved how it ended in a way that season two ended with that party. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

CSI: Fire: Chicago Fire "I'll Cover You"

Chicago Fire Review: I'll Cover You (Season 8 Episode 18) | Tell ...

Personal Struggle: Chicago PD "I Was Here"/"Center Mass"

Image result for chicago pd "I Was Here"

"I Was Here"

In one of the most brutal episodes to watch, it was this season's best episode.

As Burgess takes light duty as a 911 dispatch operator, she gets a call from a young woman who requires help. After letting it go, it turns out that the young woman needed help and was part of a human sex trafficking ring.

As Burgess takes the lead on this case, the circumstances don't go well for her. When Burgess found the woman's location and was by herself, she went in to save her. After making some horrible beatings, the injured Burgess kills the suspect and saves the young woman. But as Ruzek gets Burgess to the hospital later that night, she learns that she has lost the baby.

"I Was Here" was one of the season's most divisive episodes. It had thrills, but near the end, when Burgess goes in without backing up to help, the victim was on the edge of your seat with your stomach turning in every way possible. Marina Squerciati gives one hell of a performance. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Image result for chicago pd "Center Mass"

"Center Mass"

Sometimes, things don't always go their way.

When a former caseworker from Rojas's past asks for a favor to find a homeless man, it leads her and the Intelligence to investigate the homeless man's murder. But as the investigation moves forward, the team learns that they're pursuing a cop killer who had killed the homeless man for his identity.

But when Rojas finds a witness, it is not only helpful but hard to handle due to being a paranoid schizophrenic. It doesn't end well with both the suspect and the witness.

"Center Mass" was a good episode with character development for Vanessa Rojas. The character uses her experience to help the witness find the murderer and help him get well. You can see from Voight's point of view that this case will be complex for her, even in the end. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Family is Family: Chicago Med "Who Should Be The Judge"

Image result for chicago med who should be the judge

Two doctors are kidnapped. There's good news for Maggie, while a family reunion isn't what it seems. Here's a recap!

As Crockett and Natalie walk to Med, they get pulled into an unexpected emergency that ends up being a kidnapping to help a prisoner get to his dying son. But will one make it out alive? Of course, when Crockett saves the guy from killing himself.

Meanwhile, Will visits Hannah at rehab and sees that she's not taking anything to ease her way out of the addiction. After treating one of Dr. Charles' patients, Will tries to sneak something to help her, but she refuses and kicks him out.

April and Ethan are part of a family reunion miracle as a daughter is reunited with her biological birth mother, who needs an organ donation. But something doesn't seem right, and it turns out that they aren't biologically related, and it turns out that the daughter's friend used her job at the Foster Care Service to locate her. Even though they both knew, they didn't care and became a real blended family.

Maggie waits for the news of her test. After a hell of a day, she gets the good news that she deserves, cancer is gone and in return, Ben is there to help get her to celebrate. But what celebration does she want, the one with wedding bells and Ben at her side?

"Who Should Be the Judge" was an excellent episode. While Natalie and Crockett's storyline was thrilling, adding Jay was good too. I worry that this could start up something between the characters that I don't think should be. The family reunion, which really wasn't, was an excellent story, and there was a nice twist at the end that was heartwarming. The episode had good writing and good character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch the 100th episode of Chicago Med tonight at 8/7c on NBC.

Acting with Care: Chicago Med "I Will Do No Harm"

Image result for chicago med "I Will Do No Harm"

Last night's episode of Chicago Med was as gripping as ever. Here's a recap!

Dr. Charles and Natalie treat a man who's ill, but he's not who he says he is. The so-called ex-wife says that he's an actor to play her daughter's father, and she's trying to end it, but instead, he is the one who's ending it by taking poison. Dr. Charles and Natalie do what they can to get their patient to talk, but after trying to fake death in front of the girl, he confesses what he took. Even though the girl understands he's not her father, she still cares for him.

Marcil and Ethan deal with a death-row inmate about to be put to death, but a mistake has occurred, which is killing the patient's arm. As Ethan wants to treat and get him back, Marcil intends to end it here. When the patient's arm is dying quickly, the two take him to the hybrid OR to take out the arm, but it becomes more than just the arm as things get "complicated" and the patient dies. Indiana isn't going to like that at all.

April and Noah try to help a man whose heart is not beating right and who has to keep moving for his heart to keep going. But nothing is working when they are at the gym, and when trying to put a line into shock, the patient stops, and Noah tries his best to get the line in and shock the heart just in time.

I will get a patient who's seven months pregnant and is in severe pain with sickle cell. Will and Maggie do what they can to help fix the problem, but her OB, Dr. Asher, is nowhere to be found. After hours and hours of complications, Will gets the patient to the OR for an emergency c-section; the baby's health and the mother's health are good. Asher returns, and Will isn't buying her lies and gets security to have a sniffing dog check her car, to which the dog smiles something.

"I Will Do No Harm" was an excellent episode and, at times, creepy. Mainly, with the whole actor playing someone's daughter, it seemed a bit far-fetched, but it was excellent storytelling. The dynamic between Ethan and Crockett was terrific, as two different mindsets of doctors finally agreed to not only save their death row patient but to let him die as well. And  John Lutz on the show was just hilarious. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Fly: Chicago Med "I Can't Imagine the Future" Fall Finale

Image result for chicago med i can't imagine the future

The fall finale of Chicago Med holds nothing back. Here's a recap!

In the fall finale, we see Dr. Charles do one last thing for his wife: throw a party with family and friends. At the same time, it may not be something new for Charles to do for someone. It's a real turning point for the character as, at the start of the episode, he gets overwhelmed with emotions when Caroline tells him that she wants him to remarry.

Things aren't looking great for April and Ethan as April learns she's going into early menopause, but with luck, the IVF could work. She takes not having children to heart and takes it out on Ethan, who's been reading a book about being a father. Later on, the two will have even more arguments when both Ethan's and Marcil's patients could be part of the domino transplant. However, when Ethan's patient dies before going on the table, Marcil's patient still gets the kidney from Ethan's patient's mother. Ethan and April leave on bad terms, with April kissing Marcil as Ethan is about to head out overseas.

Will treats a patient who believes he can fly when he skates on the ice. With an injury to the vertebrae, Will options the patient's father for him to have the brace instead of surgery, but that's not what the patient wanted, and he got the surgery and passed with flying colors to make a full recovery. While Maggie takes care of Ben, who almost is at heaven's gate, but instead creates a full recovery from fighting the measles.

As for Natalie, while treating and hoping that Phillip's daughter gets the surgery, her memory returns, as she gets flashbacks to the events leading up to the crash. After learning about the girl making a full recovery, Natalie remembers what she wanted to tell Will and meets him on the roof to say that she loves him, but in return, Will tells her that he's taken to what she had said and has moved on. NO!!!!!!!!

"I Can't Imagine the Future" was a fantastic fall finale with powerful writing and performances from the cast. The Maggie-Ben story was emotional; I wondered if he would make it. Dr. Charles's story was overwhelmingly inspirational; we have never seen his character be that full of emotions that just took my breath away. And the Natalie and Will situation again has me pulling my heart out as I've wanted these two to get back together. It can't end like this again! Once again, I still have hope! Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Fight to Be Right: Chicago Med "Got a Friend in Me"/"It's All in The Family"

Image result for chicago med got a friend in me

"Got a Friend in Me"

Tensions rise between two doctors, a secret will be revealed, and a doctor will do the unthinkable. Here's a recap!

While Noah starts his surgical training with Marcil, Choi doesn't think that Marcil teaches with the proper methods. But when the patient of Choi got sicker and sicker, the best thing to do was surgical. At the same time, the surgery was a success. While both Choi and Marcil think differently, they see eye to eye for what is best and get what they all want: their patient feeling better.

Maggie, dealing with the chemo, is still secretive with her colleagues about her cancer. After seeing CeeCee, she comes to terms and reveals her secret that she's battling cancer. Will tries to help a patient suffering from DVT, but then it soon turns into a P.E. that ends up killing his patient.

Natalie, who's been on one patient at a time, deals with a child with nose bleeds. But the problem comes when the parents have their methods of treatment. But when Natalie believes that their child has pneumonia and goes against the parents' wishes to treat, that leaves her to lock herself with her patient and give him the treatment.

"Got a Friend in Me" was a powerful and shocking episode. Marlyne Barrett gives a solid and powerful performance as Maggie shows her struggles with treatment and work. But the powerful scene comes when she finally comes to Natalie and April and removes her wig in front of them. I'm very much enjoying the Choi and Marcil battle chemistry. Two minds think differently. The episode has good writing and character development. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Image result for chicago med it's all in the family

"It's All In The Family"

Noah and April helped treat an assault victim they found in an alley. As soon as April and Noah learn who the victim is, they try to help her but instead disappear. But Noah brings her to his apartment to stay till she knows what to do next. This could be an issue down the road!

Dr.Charles and Ethan help a patient who happens to be a childhood friend of Charles' growing up who's been transitioning. Charles learns from his friend and her ex-wife maybe two people can reconnect and comfort each other. That's what happened with Sharon and Burt.

Will and Marcil deal with an issue of treating a Jehovah's Witness; Will learns that the patient broke the rules of the religion. But when the patient found out that his parents left and that he had surgery and was given blood, he was distraught.

As Natalie might face jail time for what she's done to her patient, Maggie gives her a sense of hope and tells her to trust her gut. That leads to one more test, but by the time she is about to do it, she gets arrested as the court order is lifted. It turns out that Natalie was right and that the little boy had an autoimmune disease. But that isn't all as Natalie confronts Phillip that she will not marry him, and just as she gives him a ring, Will comes and tells her the truth about how Phillip slipped the ring while she was recovering.

"It's All In The Family" was an excellent episode. Torrey Devitt performs outstandingly as Natalie battles everyone, with a few supporting her efforts to treat that child. The episode had good stories, writing, and performances from the cast. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Comfort: Chicago Fire "Shut It Down"

Image result for chicago fire shut it down

This week's episode of Chicago Fire had one of its best case of the week episode this season.

When a 51 gets called to a gas leak at a home that exploded injuring a little girl, the team learns of a pattern. Confronting the gas company, they come to learn that there was a faulty sensor. Meanwhile, Cruz is in a state of panic over the wedding, but Severide lends him a hand, finally. Gallo saved the little girl from the first gas leak house explosion and learned that she's got a long recovery. Kidd tries to cheer him up and learns of why he's been acting like he's been because of his past.

After the previous episode, Brett gets what looks to be a letter from her biological mother. She tells Casey to throw it away, but you know how Casey is...he keeps it. But after throwing it away for the first time, Brett confronts Casey once again and of course, Casey saves it and hands it over to her. But when she opens it, it's just an address of where she is, which isn't too far from Chicago.

"Shut It Down" was a very intense, fun and heartwarming case of the week episode. From the hilarious moments of Cruz dealing with the wedding plans to Mouch trying to prove to Herrmann that he can still be effective on the team. The gas leak storyline was so good and kept the episode interested and on point. The Brett and Casey story was as heartwarming and funny. I just hope that she finds out that Casey could be her half-brother or something. Just a thought. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire as they team up with Chicago PD in the two-hour crossover event on February 26th at 9/8c on NBC.

Could Dr. Manning go too far this time? I don't know about you, but I feel that this promo is making Natalie look like she's losing it. I think Maggie will come forward to her colleagues and friends about her condition. I can't wait for this week's new episode.

Welcome to the Unit: Chicago PD "Assets"/"Familia"

"Assets"

When an undercover job goes wrong, will the Intelligence Unit suffer? Here's a recap!

When the Intelligence Unit goes undercover to take down the Robin Hood of drug dealers, Atwater tries to play the game to get to meet Darius Walker. After a couple of bumpy roads, he finally meets, but Halstead and Upton get a call of a shooting, which leads to a couple of members of Walker's dead when they look into the cameras that capture an automobile leaving the scene.

The next day, as Atwater awaits Walker, the car shows up, and when he sees who it sees, it just so happens to be the bartender at Walker's bar. So Atwater and Halstead make a deal with her and her partner, but what the Intelligence Unit doesn't know is that they are undercover cops, too. And so the two groups work together; Atwater meets Vanessa Rajos, a rookie cop on the team.

Vanessa agrees to place a wire in Walker's office, even if she does get caught by Walker. The team learns there will be a drop-off in two different spots; one is for a college student delivering baked goods to people who can't afford them. The other was where the drug droop-drop-own place, and they took down Walker and his associates.

But Atwater and the Intelligence Unit find out that Walker isn't really what they all thought he was as he explains that he might be Robin Hood, but it's the other way around. He takes from the weak and gives it to the strongest as it goes to those who can do good in the future, and Walker gets a deal with the CPD to keep what he's doing.

Also, Ruzek is having the most challenging time adjusting to life, not being a cop. He even tries to help take down someone that was selling a product. Both Trudy and Voight are worried, and he tries to work things out with the ASA. There was a plea deal, but Ruzek turned it down. But Voight got one even better for him, asked the acting intern chief, and got Ruzek his badge and gun back.

"Assets" was a good episode with a fine story and character development. Michael Beach, as Walker, gave a veteran excellent performance. Ruzek had a nice, solid story and good character development to see how he suffers from waiting to know what will happen to him next. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Rojas' first day in the Intelligence Unit didn't go well; could she prove the team wrong and stay? Here's a recap!

It's Rojas' first day in the Intelligence Unit, and after a first-day run with Trudy, Rojas and Atwater spot someone screaming for help. As they chase, Rojas gets close to the suspects, but with one driving, she chases the other on foot, but by the time she catches him, he dies with wounds. Voight isn't too pleased, and they look into what turns out to be drug smuggling.

They interview the victim, Rub. She doesn't give a whole lot, but when they see her again, they find the dead outside her apartment. Her roommate Karla works alongside Wity at a restaurant owned by Alexa Rivera, who uses her girls to smuggle drugs with drug dealers. But when Karla learns that Alexa had Ruby killed, she helps the Intelligence Unit to get the confession, but instead, it turns into a standoff that ends with Karla stabbing Alexa, killing her.

After that, Voight sees how Rojas does, and after getting a report from Upton, who was partnered with her, she gives him the okay. Upton tells Rojas that she has to work together with this unit as a family but also that she got the job and a new roommate.

"Familia" was an excellent episode from start to finish. Lisseth Chavez was perfect as Vanessa Rojas in this first full episode. Also, Lisa Vidal as Alexa Rivera was amazing, too. Good story and character development. I very much enjoyed this episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Gut Feeling: Chicago Fire "A Real Shot in the Arm"/"Badlands"

"A Real Shot in the Arm"

As one firefighter makes a dangerous rescue, could he be part of Firehouse 51? Plus, another rescue is made to bring back a former member. Here's a recap!

Firehouse 51 gets a call of a man hanging off his apartment building. A candidate from another firehouse makes a dangerous rescue that gives Casey an idea to pick for Truck 81. Still, Boden won't approve of it as Casey gives Boden the reasons why; it isn't enough until Severide, after apologizing for Boden's boat, talks to him about how he changed him when he was a daring young firefighter. After that, Casey and Severide talk with Gallo, the candidate, about what he'll be doing, and soon after, Gallo talks to both them and Boden and agrees to come abroad.

Hermann is in trouble as he got word from Otis' brothers that they won't invest Otis's shares in Molly's. Trying to find a way, he asked Mouch, but he declined. When Trudy comes in, it's not pretty, as she complains about the cherries being used. As all seemed lost, Mouch comes through with a check to buy out Otis' share. But it's not only Mouch but also Trudy that's part of it, too. Oh boy! Get ready for an upgrade.

Forster and her new partner, Collins, aren't doing too well. When she tries to bond with him, he thinks she's hitting on him. After a call, a little girl is having an allergic reaction that proves to be a tick bite. But after Forster had had it with him and fired him. Quickly, she and Kidd go after Brett, who wasn't having the best of time at Fowlerton. But just as soon as they get there, Brett walks out and has her bags packed and ready to go; this comes after she broke things off with The Chaplin. Brett's coming home!!!

Also, Cruz is selling his apartment due to not only costing too much for one person, but the memories of Otis were getting too painful. Even Chloe has been seeing it and asked Mouch for advice, which was to be there for him. After the good news with Hermann, he gives Ritter better news that he's coming back on his team again but also learns that Ritter has a boyfriend and he's not a vegan.

"A Real Shot in the Arm" was perfect. You could feel that this episode carried the weight of the loss of Otis, which was decisive. The drama between Casey and Boden was excellent and something that we haven't seen in a while, and I love it.

But mainly from this episode, Brett is coming home!!! YEAH!! I guess she's so used to the adrenaline of Chicago living. Plus, even though she broke it off with The Chaplin and might take it easy from dating, will she persuade to ask Casey out on a date? The writing was good, along with character development, for one character: Ritter. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Badlands"

On Brett's first day back at 51, she and Foster deal with an attacked kid. Plus, Boden finds out the truth about Gallos. Here's a recap!

It's Brett's first day, and coming back to 51, everyone gives her a pleasant welcome back surprise. Glad to be back, Brett and Foster get a call of an injured kid, Issac, at a correctional facility, but when they get there, they get stopped by the high power guard. Both Brett and Foster get a bad fab from the kid and look into what's been going on.

After telling Boden about it, they see that the facility was quickly on the defense of what happened. They went to talk with the attorney who represented Issac but got nothing from him—instead, they spoke with a social worker who worked with Issac—the three worked together to confront the boss of the facility and the officer. Still, as Issac backs off his statement, he starts telling what the officer does and gets everyone to talk to him, which puts the officer in the wrong position.

Firehouse 51 has gotten a new upgrade, but it's not going well. Of course, it pisses off Herrmann but soon gets on everyone's nerves. But at least Casey got a hot date along with it, so it's not all that bad. But it was, and when the alarms go off for nothing, Boden breaks the machine while Casey's hot date comes back mad and tells him to lose her number.

While Boden had a headache, he still had doubts about Gallos, and after listening to his story and seeing how he and Casey saved a little girl at an amusement park. He learns that he and another firehouse team saved Gallos a long time ago, and ever since, the kid has been coming around their firehouse. Wow, right?

"Badlands" was an excellent episode, and seeing Brett back at Firehouse 51 was awesome! The story was perfect, with character development with Boden and Gallos. Plus, I ate the Casey and Severide scenes up. I loved it. Fun and awkwardly brilliant. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Are You Sure?: Chicago PD "Doubt" Season Premiere

It all comes down to asking that one question, "are you sure?" Here's a recap of the season premiere of Chicago PD.

In the season premiere of Chicago PD "Doubt" had both not only the audience asking major questions but the characters too from did Voight kill Kelton to where's Antonio? With the murder of newly elected Kelton; with everything pointing to Voight would prove that this could be it, but in the classic fashion, it wasn't.

But that didn't stop Halstead to still keep asking in his mind that Voight had something to do with it. Even the homicide detective tries to get Halstead to turn on Voight, but he keeps his stance that he didn't do anything. That is until he and Voight figured out that gun was used in a previous shooting that was taken from evidence; but got into the hands of Kate Brennan, who took getting revenge on Kelton for what he did but not give her after helping him too.

When Halstead realized that Voight was going to talk with Kate, he and Upton decide to see if Kate would turn herself in; but with Voight leaving alone they both went in to see Kate about to end her life. Voight gets upset with him for not trusting him.

While the case was going on the whereabouts of Antonio was getting worrisome; thinking that he had ended his life after getting back on the pain pills. We soon understand that he seek help not only from his sponsor; but also called Voight for help and took him to an undisclosed rehab location.

"Doubt" was such a good episode from beginning to the end that keeps you on your toes. After this episode, I think that the relationship between Voight and Halstead will be very complicated. I was leaning towards Kate killing Kelton. I was so impressed with what Anne Heche has done on the show. The writing was so good and the character development was as too. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago PD Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
