Jay's Call: Chicago PD "Equal Justice"

Has Jay taken a play from Voight's playbook? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago PD.

As the Intelligence Unit does a stakeout, their cover gets blown when they spot someone who's taken a car full of heroin. They quickly learn that the man, Lateral Wade, is not only working for the gang but also trying to find his son's killer, who he believes is the gang leader.

Jay and the team try to work with the father, trying to get in with the gang, but they fail after the father sees the gang leader's car. After that deal has failed, Jay learns that the father's son might not have been killed over drugs but of a relationship with a young woman, who happens to be in a relationship with one of the gang members.

Just as the Intelligence Unit made an arrest, gunshots were heard, and they found their suspect dead. Jay spots the runaway car and learns that it's the father. As Jay talks with Voight about the situation, Jay decides to arrest the father, yet tells him to lawyer up and keep quiet.

"Equal Justice" was an excellent episode. Lawrece Gilliard, Jr. was fantastic as Lateral Wade, the father who seeks explanations for the death of his son. Even Jesse Lee Soffer was good, and the bond that the two characters had during this episode was delightful.

It did leave Halstead with a situation that you would think he would just arrest. Still, during that scene, when talking to him about fathers and sons, he had a whole different feeling that not only had him capture Wade but advised him to lawyer up and keep quiet.

Was it a play from Voight's playbook? We have seen it all the time. Had Jay become more like Voight? That's tough to say.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

I'm so excited to get this season really going in the new year to see where April and Ethan are going as it looks like he's pulling her off from taking care of COVID patients. I thought Lanik left Med? Upton has been getting packages from the FBI as they want her to join their team. Oh boy, Jay! You know what you got to do! And most of all how will Brett and Casey handle their relationship after knowing how each other feels about one another. And with the footage and shots, it looks like we could figure out how Casey got those scratches on his face.

How do you feel about the next episode? What are you most looking forward to as the shows come back in the new year? Leave a comment below!

Chicago Med, Fire, and PD will return Wednesday, January 6th beginning at 8/7c on NBC.

Feelings: Chicago Fire "That Kind Of Heat" Fall Finale

Well,

First, let me get this out of the way so I can talk about the ending to this "fall finale" episode.

"That Kind of Heat" was an excellent episode with intense emotional and memorable moments. Ritter steps up along with Gallo to help Boden and then stops when Herrmann and company fill up the truck with gas to help save a woman who had fallen on the L-tracks.

Kidd gets her Girls on Fire starting tremendously but is missing one person. He tries to convince her to return but understands that she needs to work to help her parents during COVID-19. That didn't stop Kidd as she saw an opportunity to help both the teen and Boden by giving her a part-time job at the firehouse. She accepts and looks forward.

With the Amblunce 61 totaled, Severide tries to hunt it down before it's gone for good. He saved the driver's door that had Leslie Shay's memorial on it. It also clarified Gallo and Mackey, who questioned being at 51 after the accident. She learned the connection between Mackey and Cruz as he's like her guardian or big brother to her father, who had died years ago.

Okay, now that I got that out of the way. Let's get to the main story of this episode: Brett and Casey. Well, from the recent recap about Mackey, both Brett and Mackey came out fine. Casey does some superhero stuff to get to 61. Soon after, Brett questions how Casey got there so fast and learns how it happened later that night at Molly's.

The next day, Brett couldn't make eye contact with Casey and tried to avoid him all shift. That is until later that night when Casey comes to Brett's apartment and asks why she is avoiding him. She replies with a kiss, and soon, the rockets blast off as they kiss and land on Brett's couch.

But Brett asked Casey whether, if Gabby came back, he would go with her and boy, he used the wrong words in this one. Even telling Brett that he doesn't know because it's complicated. You got that right! Soon, Brett asked him to leave, and it ended sadly.

While that ended pretty sad from Brett's point of view, let's look at the bright side: they finally have admitted their deep feelings for one another. This show does not go one, two, or three episodes to see if a relationship would go anywhere (like other shows). Still, we will see how they'll face this relationship and whether or not Casey could let Gabby "My Miracle" Dawson.

So, did I like the episode? Oh yeah, I loved this episode. This episode played with my emotions, and I'm glad I had the night off from work to watch this at home. During those Brett and Casey scenes, my heart was beating, and my hands got cold and sweaty.

While Ritter and Kidd had a powerful story in this episode, I think the little story that deserves is Severide getting Shay's memorial door back to the new ambulance 61. That would have bothered me so much.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

What did you think of the episode? How did you handle Brett and Casey's final moment?  Shay's memorial return? Ritter's rescue and Mouch's speech? Leave a comment below!

Chicago Fire Season 9 Preview and Thoughts

Could Brett and Casey share their feelings for one another? What drama could be in store for Kidd and Seveide? What's in store for Season 9 of Chicago Fire?

TV Insider laid out a preview for the upcoming season nine of Chicago Fire and talking with the Fire's executive producer Derek Hass. Hass told TV Insider there were going to be many changes that will affect both personal and professional.

"We are going to reflect what the world is like in 2020 for Chicago firefighters, pandemic and all," said Hass. "It will be a year of new challenges."

Changes like paramedic Sylvie Brett, who is breaking in yet another new partner now that Emily Foster will be returning to medical school. She'll be partnering up with a young medic Gianna Mackey, who grew up in the same rough neighborhood as Joe Cruz.

A heads up, look for Brett and Mackey to find themselves in harrowing circumstances. Hass tells, "Don't miss the premiere's last 10 seconds."

Oh boy!

But the one question that has everyone been wanting to know will Brett and Casey begin a serious romance? The first two episodes of the season will tell. Cross your fingers!

Looks like firefighter Stella Kidd will be heading in a new direction when Chief Boden asks her to take the lieutenant's exam. That could cause some tension between her and her boyfriend, Severide, and other members of house 51.

Last season, we've seen the candidates Darren Ritter and Blake Gallo become BFFs in the firehouse. They'll still continue to learn the ropes.

"Ritter has an epic rescue coming up," Hass said. "And he might be taking a break from (his boyfriend)."

While Gallo's efforts to impress EMT Violet Lin has fizzled, he'll now face an even bigger challenge: impress his boss, Captain Casey.

"Especially, if he decides to cowboy a call instead of following orders," Hass warns.

That could surely be another big problem.

I'm just eager to get the season started right now. While I might be excited to see where Brett and Casey might be going, I'm excited to see what's going on with Kidd and Severide.

Yeah, this summer I've been back and forth on whether or not Brett and Casey should be a couple. YouTube music videos have been very helpful. Thank you!

I think that if Kidd and Severide make it through this tension of her taking the exam. Could we be looking at a marriage proposal?

Heck, has Cruz and Chloe gone on their honeymoon between this long break? What has happened at Molly's during this whole pandemic? It can't be good.

The one thing true thing I can say is that once the show has started everything will be so much better now that our best friends are back and we get to hang with them.

What do you think about the upcoming season nine?  What are you looking forward to? Leave a comment!

You can catch the season premiere of Chicago Fire Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 9/8c on NBC.

Chicago PD Cast Empire Alumna For Season 8

On Tuesday, Deadline exclusively reported that Empire alumna Nicole Ari Parker will be joining NBC's Chicago PD for a major recurring role in the upcoming eighth season. She'll be playing Deputy Superintendent Samatha Miller.

Miller, originally from Atlanta, is a progressive, ardent proponent of police reform. She wants to help Voight and the Intelligence adapt to the new reality but will not tolerate breaches of the new police guidelines and protocols.

This past year cop shows have come under fire for their depiction of police work in the aftermath of George Floyd's death, which had triggered a nationwide protest against police brutality. The topic is expected to be addressed by most, if not all, cop shows in their upcoming seasons.

Chicago PD's central character  Detective Sergeant Hank Voight has been amazing those that have been singled out for his violent methods that include breaking fingers with pliers and putting guns in the mouths of criminals.

Parker's character is expected to rein in that behavior and hold Voight and his team accountable by imposing to the highly professional standards.

I'm looking forward to Parker joining the Chicago PD family and see where this will be going. PD has done police reform storyline before in Season Five but that turned out to be more of Voight's old friend getting back at him that sent Alvin Olinsky to his death at the end of the fifth season.

Chicago PD is set to begin production next week and the season premiere date is slated for Wednesday, Novemeber 11th.

What are your thoughts on the casting news? Excited? Leave your comments below and tell us your thoughts.

Telling the Truth: Chicago PD "Silence of the Night" Season Finale

Chicago PD season 7 finale takeaways: Silence of the Night

The season finale of Chicago PD really felt like a season finale as Atwater faces his biggest challenge yet. Here's a recap!

The season finale of Chicago PD titled "Silence of the Night" was such a stunning; but thrilling at the end that left us with a nice cliffhanger. As Atwater goes undercover to take down an illegal gun seller; he bumps into a familiar face Doyle, the cop that shot a black man in front o Atwater during an undercover sting that happened a year ago.

The two teams up putting their differences aside and while they got the guy and his team; the worst was yet to come when Doyle makes a stop and profiles a black kid who was carrying a duffle bag thinking that it was drugs. He was wrong as he got shot to death for it. Both Intelligence and Doyle's team help track the killers; but what it comes down to was Atwater telling Voight what had really happened and after talking to Voight and Ray Price. Atwater decides to tell the truth.

The ending while Voight and Ruzek tell Atwater that they got his back no matter what; as Atwater goes home he sees Doyle's partner and tries to pick a fight. But instead, Doyle's partner leaves with his squad car light on along with many, many other squad cars driving by Atwater; as he tells them that he's standing and won't go anywhere.

Also, in the first few minutes of the episode, we see Jay talking with Hailey, who's still in New York at the FBI, and they are talking about how much they miss each other. I can't wait to see next season for them!

"Silence of the Night" of Chicago PD was out o the rest of the Chicago shows that had abrupted season finales, felt like a true season-ending.  LaRoyce Hawkins gives a stunning performance as this episode progressed to what I call a goosebump ending. I thought after Atwater talked with Price that he was going to not tell what really had happened but I didn't get it till after Voight told him that they got his back that I realized what he did. That ending was such a goosebump chilling scene that I thought was one of the best. Even that moment when Atwater was watching Voight and Halstead interview suspects were so good too.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD available on NBC.com, NBC app, Google Play, iTunes and more. Let's hope we see them back this fall!

Tough Decisions: Chicago Fire "51st Original Bell" Season Finale

Chicago Fire Season 8 Episode 20, "51's Original Bell" | Tell-Tale TV

The season finale of Chicago Fire had us questioning whether someone was leaving Firehouse 51. Here's a recap!

In the season finale of Chicago Fire Firehouse 51 deals with a chemical gas at a junkyard that put one of Severide's men in danger. That happened to be Capp, who took the worst of the hit with his eyes not looking good. Severide tries to look into it and even question the owner of the place; but that didn't turn out too well. After a talk with someone at the CFD about it, it looked like all those warnings paid off to getting the junkyard to shut down.

On the other hand, Capp skipped medical treatment at Med. Severide and Casey try to get him back before Will has to report it. After finding Capp at his home, Capp went back and after more than an hour for an eye exam, Capp will be fine.

Kidd's Girls on Fire is doing so well and with the help of Brett and Foster, it's getting Foster some life-changing idea. Foster talks with Kidd about how she reapplied to Med school and has an interview at Northwestern, but is worried about how Brett will handle it. The secret gets spilled when Will talks about it to Foster in front of Brett, who wasn't too happy.

Brett was also dealing with news about Scott deciding to take baby Amelia back to Rockford, Ill, but wants her to come over to be a part of her sister's life. After getting a bit of short advice from Casey about the partnership and all, Brett waits for Foste after her interview and tells her that they'll be lucky to have her.

Kidd gets worried about one of her students, who asked for the fire manual but didn't return to the program. We don't get a storyline ending but I assume that this will be addressed in the next season. Also, Gallo is dealing with tension with Violet, who he tells her that they should see other people. Taking advice from Cruz and others didn't help at all.

"51st Original Bell" was a good season finale that had the theme that someone might be leaving 51. Whether it might have been Capp or even Foster; I was leaning towards Capp. I just feel bad for Brett even more, who's seems to be losing everyone from her sister moving back to even Foster leaving too. I'm just hoping that she too isn't leaving. But this episode was Severide's for the taking as he fought tooth and nail to try to get answers to take down that junkyard that injuries his firefighter.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire available on NBC.com, NBC app, Google Play, etc. Hopefully, we'll see them return this fall!

UPDATE: As of yesterday, TVline had reported that Annie Ilonzeh won't be returning to Chicago Fire for Season 9. It's sad to see someone leave that's been so good for the past two seasons, Monica Raymund's replacement on 61. So Foster leaves 51, could she be going to Chicago Med? That would make Will excited to have on staff. Also, who could replace Foster? Violet? Oh man, that's gonna be fun to watch.

Hang on Tight: Chicago Med "Just a River in Egypt"

Chicago Med season 5, episode 19 preview: Just A River In Egypt

Welcome to the rapid river that is Chicago Med. Here's a recap!

This week's episode of Chicago Med had a lot going on, so let us get into it right here. Maggie and Ben have been with that little boy for a few weeks, and will soon be adopted. But the kid's health takes a turn for the worse, and to make matters even worse, the DCFS turns down the kid to have a procedure. After the kid's health was hanging in the balance, he finally got the procedure, but the adoptive parents backed out. Not to worry, Maggie and Ben will adopt him. Yes!

Will and Hannah's relationship could be severe after spending the last few weeks at her place. They treat a pregnant patient but risk her life to have a baby while battling brain cancer. Her condition worsens with time and treatments; Hannah and Will follow the patient's order to help save her baby no matter what, even if that's against her husband's wishes. Not only did the pregnancy have to be terminated, but the mother had also died. Curry sees the relationship between Will and Hannah and wonders if their relationship is clouding his judgment. I wouldn't deny it.

Sharon gets good news about her son staying in Chicago and working at Med. But he worries about the job after seeing him trying to figure out how to be friends with the other doctors, what they like, and such.

The main event deals with Ethan, April, and Crockett. When two patients come to the ED, Ethan questions whether or not his patient jumped off the bridge to the other patient's car. He and Dr. Charles try to deal with the parents, but the father doesn't come to see eye to eye. Ethan makes a drastic move by awakening Crockett's patient to get her word if that patient jumped or was pushed off the bridge. That upsets Crockett and lets Ethan take a swing at him.

After that happened, Ethan talked with Dr. Charles about their patient and came to terms with the fact that it was not Crockett he was mad at but April. At home, he awaits April's arrival and tells her he'll be at a hotel until she finds a new place. Ouch!

"Just a River in Egypt" was an excellent episode. I felt that this episode was on overdrive at times with Ethan/April/Crockett, along with Will and Hannah. I think I'm with Curry about how Will's relationship with Hannah might have jeopardized their patient. Could there have been another outcome? Probably. I thought Ethan had a powerful storyline in this episode dealing with the patient who may or may not have jumped off the bridge and a controlling father. Plus, figuring out who he should be mad at turned out to be April and not Crockett.

We have had a lot of drama going into this season with Ethan and April in the relationship department. Something tells me that there might be one last effort to save this relationship, and coming into next week's episode, what looks like Ethan puts himself on the line.

Maggie and Ben was something that I saw coming, but it still made me happy for the characters to step up to help this kid. I mean, in the previous episode, you knew that after they skipped their honeymoon to stay with that kid, they were going to adopt him.

The episode had good character development with Ethan, Maggie, and Ben. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch the last episode of the season of Chicago Med next Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC.

Believe: Chicago Med "The Ground Shifts Beneath Us"/"Leave the Choice to Solomon"

Image result for chicago med ""The Ground Shifts Beneath Us"

"The Ground Shifts Beneath Us"

When Med gets a call about a plane crash, they get unexpected news that one of them was on the plane. Ethan and Marcil treat Dr. Abrams when he's suffering from third-degree burns. When Abram's wife comes, she wants her husband to be taken off life support, but Ethan doesn't think she should make that decision. After being turned down by the ethics board, Ethan goes outside for air and sees Abrams outside the hospital that just got in. It turns out the patient was a drug reparative.

April and Noah deal with two families whose embryos were switched. The idea of IVF gives April hope that she still wants to have babies with Ethan and wants to provide IV with a try.

Gwen is in trouble for leaving her eight-month-old baby in a cold car; to make matters worse, she is going through a divorce with her husband. Goodwin tries to bond with her and to get her to tell the baby's father the truth. Instead, she doesn't, and Natalie says with the circumstances for Gwen away, Will's plan proposal for an on-site for those that need a drug fix can be supervised.

"The Ground Shifts Beneath Us" was a good episode that kept me on the edge of my seat at times. I thought that the character Gwen lifted the shield to see her softer side, but later on, she put it back in use. Halstead will be in deep water if someone finds out about this illegal offsite for drug users. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Image result for chicago med leave the choice to solomon

"Leave the Choice to Solomon"

In this episode, we see Marcil as we've never seen him before. When a school bus crashed, Natalie and Marcil were there; they helped two kids who were trapped with an iron bar through their bodies. Marcil takes the risky approach of cutting them out and moving them back to the Med. There, Marcil gets the boy removed from the bar, but soon, both the girl and boy suffer some complications that put his judgment to the test. Natalie questions why he's playing safe with the boy and soon saves the boy like Marcil only can risk

April and Ethan deal with another student crash victim suffering from respiratory issues. Soon, Ethan learns that the child's father is vaping, which means the patient is also vaping. After running some tests, it shows that the patient's lungs have suffered pretty damaged from vaping and that there's no new treatment since it's unique.

Maggie reunites with a friend about to get a new bone marrow; when the donor has the flu, Maggie jumps to action to get everyone tested. After Goodwin stops the staff from donating blood, people in the waiting room do their part, and after many, many blood samples, there is a donor for Maggie's friend, but it is too late. In the uplifting moment, Maggie learns that what she has done has saved many more lives.

Dr. Charles and Will's work relationships are tested as Will tries desperately to get his patient a new heart valve, but with the history of drug use, it's unlikely. Will does the unthinkable and gives Dr. Solomon a false diagnosis, but the surgery would go even if the patient's partner sneaked him some drugs. I will apologize to Charles and even try to leave the off-site and get a gift from a patient who almost overdosed at the client earlier.

"Leave the choice to Solomon" was a good episode with some interesting cases and an excellent character development of Crockett Marcil. I think he might have lost a child he once had with someone or that he could have lost his family in an accident years ago. The story with the vaping was perfect, and the Halstead and Charles were intense. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Sing of Your Troubles: Chicago Med "Guess it Doesn't Matter Anymore" Winter Premiere

Image result for chicago med "Guess it Doesn't Matter Anymore"

Chicago Med returns with a powerful episode. Here's a recap.

As the episode opened up, Dr. Charles has lost his wife and tries to keep himself busy in his office. That is until Curry needs help on a patient that has severe panic attacks and she thought that using an app to sing your troubles way would help. But Charles was curious about the patient after she had left and suffered another panic attack after taking another anti-depressant; which leads to a different diagnosis.

April and Marcil battle it out over a patient that doesn't want surgery; but got it anyway when his stomach was big as a balloon. The two also try to make that the kiss meant nothing and that it's water under the bridge. Later that night April gets a surprise visit from Ethan and he proposes to her with only one reception that she couldn't have children, but says yes to his proposal.

Natalie and Will look to be back as friends and when a case of an injured boy and a mother that was high earlier; Halstead learns that the mother was a former patient of his and that he was the one that prescribes the pain meds that she's addicted to. Will tries to find a way to help her and keep her son together and using a rapid detox was the only way. After a day or two later, the detox worked but CPF came and took full custody of her child; in which she ran off and overdosed and died.

In the end, Dr. Charles proves to Curry that singing can take your troubles away and sings a song at Molly's on karaoke night.

"Guess It Doesn't Matter Anymore" was a very powerful episode; that opens up the story arc of Will and the pain pill addiction that's been going on for the past few years. I thought that Oliver Platt gave an amazing performance. The writing was good with great character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Decide and Love: Chicago Med "Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings"/"Too Close to the Sun"

Image result for chicago med who knows what tomorrow brings

"Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings"

Let the party begin!!

"Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings" was an okay episode from start to finish. Dr. Charles and Will help treat a patient who believes he's a vampire, but it turns out he's got Hepatitis B. While Natalie and Elsa try to treat a daughter who was in an accident but died due to respiratory issues. Dr. Choi, April, and Marcil try to help a military amputee but get blocked by the army officers because of her status as AWAL. But as Maggie starts her chemo treatments, she meets a man she brings along for Dr. Marcil's crawfish party, which ends with April and Marcil kissing.

This was a good episode. Dr. Charles and Will's story was exciting and weird, but in a good way. This could have been a good Halloween episode. The story about the military soldier was a tough one as she was trying to get to her brother's wedding—good episode, well written and well-performed. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Image result for chicago med too close to the sun

"Too Close to the Sun"

Sometimes things come back and bite them in the butt.

Noah gets attacked, and April and Marcil learn that he's been keeping that patient they helped treat a few episodes ago. At the same time, Maggie discovers that Ben has measles and has to suspend his treatment to get treated for the measles. Will and Curry treat a patient whose transplanted kidney is in trouble.

But the story to take away from here is when Dr. Choi and Charles treat a patient who happens to be a live-streaming star who lets his viewers decide for him. It causes tension between one another, and the patient comes to his senses.

"Too Close to the Sun" was a good and powerful episode. Marlyne Barrett gives another strong performance as Maggie sacrifices to help fulfill Ben's wishes.  That story was the best out of the rest in the episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Chicago Love and Respect: Chicago Fire "A Chicago Welcome"

Image result for chicago fire a chicago welcome

This episode might be my favorite out of this season.

When someone is in need of help, Chicago is there. That's what I took out of this Chicago Fire episode, "A Chicago Welcome" as Firehouse 51 saved a married couple that had moved to Chicago not too long ago. While the husband survived, his wife didn't and their cat goes missing; but with Brett and Casey being there for him by finding his cat and even pulled a few strings to get more than a few people to come to the funeral. It was enough to make you grab the tissues and as a #Bresey fan, it just makes both Brett and Casey's relationship grand.

Meanwhile, while Froster is throwing a party at Cruz's apartment; Cruz felt that he was left out when he tried to come to the party. Froster apologies and makes it up for him to throw a better party than that one. Truck 81 gets a new truck and Herrmann isn't too pleased about it. Mouch pushes too much on Herrmann that puts a string on their relationship, but not too long.

But it was Grosh that comes back to bring even more hell on Chicago. As he was the reason he gave Truck 81 the new truck. Boden and Severide don't think he has crawled over a new leaf and investigated it. It turns out that Grosh has been scamming the city and in return gets fired.

"A Chicago Welcome" was such an amazing episode. This episode had played a lot in my emotions. Brett and Casey's story won me over so much. We even get the start of Brett's new story arc as she's wondering if she should meet with her biological mother, who sent her a letter. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Tension in the Air: Chicago Fire "Hold Our Ground"/"Where We End Up"

Image result for chicago fire hold our ground

"Hold Our Ground"

In the winter premiere of Chicago Fire, Severide's life is on the line, plus tension between two colleagues builds, and 51 takes down a robber. Here's a recap!

Picking up where we left off, Severide and the arsonist suspect are in the basement and are fighting to get out due to being a lit fire there; Severide saves him and is reprimanded back to Firehouse 51, but the partnership with Wagner is put in question with Kidd, but Severide takes care of that.

Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 learns they'll be sharing districts with Firehouse 20, and some aren't too happy, like Gallo. But after a call of an accident, Truck 81 lost its tool and learned that someone had stolen it to use it to break into ATMs. Gallo and Casey work together to figure out the guy; it turns out that they would meet that guy after being diverted on a call thanks to Firehouse 20. More on that later!

After the first accident, as 51 returned to the station, Mouch had a letter stuck to his boot and tried to bring it back to the post office but wouldn't take it. Mouch tries his best to figure out how to get an address, but with the help of Ritter, Mouch gets that letter delivered home to the wife of a falling soldier.

The tension is building out of the blue between Froster and Brett. It gets so wild that it even brings the atmosphere at Molly's down. Kidd gets them together and tells them to make amends. After their wild chase, Froster tells Brett about how she's been feeling looking at photos of her classmates, making it as doctors and somewhat.

Now, the wild chase to catch a robber was probably the episode's highlight, as it was like Fast and Furious meets Chicago Fire. I'm sure the Ambulance 61 could have taken down that truck alone.

"Hold Our Ground" was entertaining, dramatic, and exciting. The Mouch story was so good and funny but ended in a heartwarming moment. The Gallo was fun, and Brett and Froster were good too. This episode had good writing and character development. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
You can catch Chicago Fire on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Image result for chicago fire where we end up

"Where We End Up"

The tension between Firehouse 51 and Firehouse 20 builds even further.

The issue of overlapping districts for Firehouse 51 and 20 continued during a car accident that put even more tension between the firehouse. Things took a real turn for the worst as everyone at Firehouse 51 had to leave on behalf of bedbugs. Throughout the episode, while quite fun (mainly with Gallo, Brett, Kidd, and Froster), most were quite severe with Casey and the Captain at 20. But that all subsided after a fire rescue at dry cleaners where Casey and Gallo helped save a life, and Firehouse 20's Captain, in return, got significant respect.

Boden had to be at a meeting where he spots an old friend who happens to be the speaker. The discussion was about firefighters battling cancer because of the ashes, etc, which can cause down the road. In the spirit of Chicago Fire, Gallo, who's running in the marathon, runs with full firefighter gear in support of fighting cancer for firefighters.

"Where We End Up" was a moving and intense episode. While the tension over Firehouse 51 and Firehouse 20 was pretty good, while Brett, Kidd, and Froster worried about what their chief would do to them was hilarious. The main thing from this episode was about how firefighters are diagnosed with cancer, not being aware of cleaning their equipment correctly, and that there needs to be an awareness. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"You Mean the World to Me": Chicago Fire "Best Friend Magic" Fall Finale

CROTIS FOREVER!!!!!

The fall finale of the Chicago Fire was one to remember for all the right reasons and more.

While cleaning up the firehouse, Cruz finds an old drone that belongs to Otis and is determined to fly it once more. But as Cruz tries to fix it, he tells Ritter that the reason why he's doing this is that he was the one who hid the drone. After repairing the new part, something was still wrong, and when he checked it on the computer to find a video of him and Otis about to fly the drone with "Best Friend Magic."

The story that we've been waiting for since the rumors and news broke was the return of Dawsey. Let me say that this episode wasn't a disappointment. Dawson returns to Chicago for a fundraiser but stops at Firehouse 51 to see Otis' memorial. After Casey and Truck 81's skyscraper rescue, Casey and Dawson have a moment to talk, but he gets invited to a charity event she's attending to get donors.

After thinking it over and asking advice from Brett, Casey went and had a ball dancing and learned that Dawson wanted to come to Chicago. As Casey and Dawson danced away, the two returned to her hotel and had a one-nighter. Just before she leaves, Dawson leaves a message for Casey, offering to come to help her out. It doesn't look like it's the end for Dawsey. That worries me.

Kidd shows off that she can handle the workload of driving Truck 81 and being at the academy. But it does have a toll, and it shows when Brett and Foster order her to go home to rest, and as she drives off, she hits a van with a mother and daughter inside. After learning that the mother and child are okay, Bowden sees the effects both jobs have on Kidd and tells her that he's going to help change that for her and the rest of the future trainers.

Severide opens up another arson case that proves a guilty man innocent that involves a company burning down their property for insurance.  After getting Casey's input on it, Severide and the team get the help of the SWAT and CPD detective to raid the suspect's whereabouts at an abandoned warehouse, where Severide finds the suspect in the basement. And we leave the episode with the suspect holding a firestick and Severide one-on-one in a dangerous basement.

"Best Friend Magic" delivered more than what I had expected. This episode was well written, with character growths packed with suspense and emotions. The Dawson and Casey might have been the episode's highlight, but I give Cruz's story the winner as it was powerfully well written, mainly at the end when Cruz sees that video of him and Otis.

While the Casey-Dawson gave me chills and emotions, that moment when they danced took me to breathe away in more ways than one. And I think this won't be the last time we see Dawson. And the Kidd storyline was good and, I believe, an educated moment as well. And Severide is leaving with an intense cliffhanger. OMG!! Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the winter premiere of Chicago Fire tonight at 9/8c on NBC.

Standing Up for What's Right: Chicago Fire "Welcome to Crazytown"/"Seeing Is Believing"

"Welcome to Crazytown"

When 51 is called during a hostage situation; a fire breaks out and Kelly and Severide perform the Batman and Robin rescue. But during a high stakes situation, Herrmann and a cop have a beef with one another that doesn't go so well with Herrmann. The cop writes a report on Herrmann that might end his career.
Herrmann tries to make amends with the cop by apologizing and offering him a free beer at Molly's. But that didn't end so well with him. After talking to Severide about the situation, Severide, who's been offered a job but turns it down. But when Severide sees an opportunity that could help Herrmann and that was to take the job and make the report go away; which it did.

Brett goes out for lunch but doesn't think it was a date; while everyone else thinks it is. When she goes after having lunch the guy was about to kiss her until she stopped him. Turning him down, she thought it was a friendly lunch outing and not a date. After using her method during a call, Casey bought her wine and told her that he's gonna bet money that she'll find that special someone.

And not to mention Cruz is about to give his slamigan public marker, for the wedding. After getting a spot by the bathroom; there was another firefighter who had the same model. After getting everyone from 51 t-shirts, Cruz hoped they would come to support and not only did they do but the firefighter's ripoff model broke down and Cruz made a big sale.

"Welcome to Crazytown" was a very good exciting episode. It was intense at times between stories from Herrmann and Severide. The Cruz story might have been the humor story but it had a good story that if Cruz didn't win against the other firefighter, things will be thrown. And the Casey and Brett just seem to be like Manstead in away building slowly. Overall I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Seeing Is Believing"

When Herrmann and the team go to a house fire; they learn that the fire was started by a lit candle that was too close to the couch. It just so happens that happens to be made by the factory that killed Otis. Herrmann goes far and beyond to talk to the CEO of the company to tell him that their products are dangerous.

Herrmann protested along with 51 to meet with the CEO outside the building. A week later Herrmann had a plan and needed the 51 team's help; which was to show the CEO what their furniture can do near flames. Later that day the CEO came down to show his respects to Otis with his kids and told Herrmann that things will change.

Severide begins his new job and looks into an arson case that turns out to be accidental. But it's his partner that could be an interesting tag team, even though she might have a crush on Casey. Stella had a difficult time balancing out work and her new training class session that even not Casey upset during a call. And while Foster is in need of money, Brett gives her the solution of being the bike instructor at the local spin cycle gym. Even though Foster was rough, she got the company to have signups that crashed their website.

"Seeing is Believing" was such a great and powerful episode; mainly Herrmann who deals with the mattress factory that killed Otis. Not only was the scene when Herrmann and everyone from 51 in front of the company building were powerful but that scene when Herrmann talking to the CEO and liting the couch on fire was so damn good. I think Stella will adjust to her jobs, at first it might be overwhelming but she'll pull through. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Hang On to Your Butts: Chicago Fire "Buckle Up"/"What Went Wrong"

"Buckle Up"

After a rough but heroic crossover week, firehouse 51 deals with strange car accidents that have been occurring and more. Here's a recap!

After being called to multiple car accidents, one of which Mouch is in trouble for getting an independent worker to help, Seveide investigates to which comes to learn that the independent car towing company is the one causing the accidents.  Of course, Halstead comes in and busts them out of the business.

Stella goes off to fire training camp, at first it seemed to be like a new kid at school with no one bonding with her. But that all changed when she showed off how good of a firefighter she is by answering the questions correctly and even thinking that she's got a future.

Mouch comes up with an idea to have the firehouse informed more by creating The Burn Notice, the weekly newsletter. Well, that idea didn't turn out the way that he had hoped as Brett and the others get involved to be more informed. When Bowden sees whats been going on he had ended the letter altogether. All Mouch wanted was some cake for his birthday.

And not to forget, was last week the end of Cruz and Chloe? Oh man, I'm glad it wasn't and thanks to Brett by talking with her about the life of a firefighter; I'm so glad that she went back to Cruz with a lovely cake pops to ask him to ask her.

"Buckle Up" was a nice easy episode after an eventful week. Yes, it was fun, even with the newsletter storyline. The Stella story was very good of showing how she's the better firefighter than the others that are a bit higher up. And the mystery of the week was good but not as solid as the others. I don't blame the writers to come up with something light, I can understand. But that ending was so well damn good! Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"What Went Wrong"

When a house fire kills a family member, was it an accident or on purpose?

When 51 gets called to a house fire that kills a grandmother; Severide and Cruz question the fire as it might have been set up by the grandmother's son-in-law. Soon after looking through and bring in CPD, it was the grandmother's daughter that did it.

Meanwhile, during that house call, Galo was ordered to open the backdoor to vent and not to go in. Well, after seeing the kid who lived in that house come running, Gallo goes in but almost gets burned from the backfire when Cruz and Severide went in. Casey knew after seeing him what had happened and asked him for his perspective of what had happened.

But instead, he tells how it went but Casey doesn't believe him. After being ordered to do a whole bunch of chorus around the firehouse, Gallo finally opened up to Casey about that night he was rescued and his family died in the fire. Turns out that's what Casey wanted to hear from the beginning and talked to him about talking about those moments will make him a better firefighter.

Oher around the episode: Brett, Foster, and Stella take on the idea of a female lounge. While it seemed like a good idea turns into a disaster with other female firefighters trashing the place. Also, with everyone knowing about Cruz's engagement (thanks Brett), he asked Severide to be his best man. All I got to say is watch out.

"What Went Wrong" was a very good episode from beginning to end. Loved the storyline between Casey and Gallo, while things start off good turns bad after Gallo's bad decision making; in-which got him to tell Casey the events of that fire that killed his family. That was som great writing right there. The case of the week was pretty good; as I thought it was the son-in-law and not the daughter that killed her own mother. And the female lounge was a nice humor story, didn't win overall the best one but it was good. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
