Birthing stories to Having Babies: Single Parents "Oh Dip, She's Having a Baby"/"A Night At Camarillo"

Preview — Single Parents Season 2 Episode 18: Oh Dip, She's Having ...

"Oh, Dip, She's Having a Baby"

Just as Poppy and Doug adjust to living arrangements at Doug's place, Sharon comes over as she's beginning labor and needs help finding Ron. Poppy, Doug, and Miggy get Angie and Will over to help and tell their birth stories.

We learn that Miggy delivered his son at a 76 gas station; Doug was sitting outside the delivery room; Poppy was upset with Ron for naming Rory after the smoke monster from Lost. Angie delivered Graham in Las Vegas while Will told three stories, one confirmed as it involves Regis Philbin.

Sharon delivered her baby at the same 76 gas station, and Ron arrived at the hospital after picking up a Shaq shoe from Arizona. Poppy sees the bundle of joy and thinks about maybe wanting another baby but with Doug.

"Oh Dip, She's Having a Baby" is probably one of my favorite episodes of the season, maybe even of the series. This episode had everything from solid character development to hilarious and emotional moments as they told their birth stories. Hell, who knew that Miggy could step up like that for a birth at the 76 gas station? Holy crap! The cast did such a fantastic job in this episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Preview — Single Parents Season 2 Episode 19: A Night in Camarillo ...

"A Night at Camarillo"

When Miggy finds out that Poppy has been ordering baby books, she tells him she's been thinking about having another baby and wants one with Doug. During their dinner that night, she was going to talk to him about the idea, but the restaurant had something different going on that got Doug's attention and battle with Dan Marino.

As soon as they got some alone time, Doug was evident with this vision of the future of not having kids, as she still hadn't told him about her idea. She talks with Graham, who watched the other kids at Doug's house. As Doug returns, Poppy tells him they might need to break up. Uh Oh!

I mentioned that Graham was in charge of the rest of the kids. They didn't think Graham could be bossy; he showed his good Italian side and got them to behave. He even needed to take five minutes as Poppy came back.

Meanwhile, Angie and Colin are hitting it off well. Colin is a bit creeped out by Will being around and copying off his clothing style. After Will hears from Colin's ex-wife that they still have an affair together, that sent Will to get to the bottom. Will sees from the air B&B hotel sign-out books that Colin had been with his ex-wife a few days ago.

As Will tells Angie the truth, Will kicks him out, and the two talk and enjoy the room Colin paid for. They even said that maybe Will has feelings for Angie, but they dodged that question again. But in the end, they got Colin back with the sweet revenge of putting the goose he hated in his car.

"A Night at Camarillo" was an excellent episode once again. While the Poppy and Doug story was sometimes weak, maybe the whole restaurant scene felt off. Maybe both Doug and Poppy should break up. Do I think that Doug would change his mind about having more kids? If he can change for her this season, he could change. The Graham story was so funny and different, as we've seen him build his anger and emotions this season. But the Will and Angie story was another winner for me again. I wish that these two would say what they want to say. I understand their friendship means the world, but they make that perfect couple. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Single Parents to return Wednesday, May 6th at 9/8c with a particular one hour on ABC.

Relationships: Chicago PD "Buried Secret"

Chicago PD season 7, episode 19 takeaways: Buried Secrets

When Ruzek witnesses a kidnapping late at night, while the team searches for the victim secrets will be revealed. Here's a recap!

After calling it a night, the team heads home but Ruzek heads to a bar to what seems to try to take his troubles away. But when he's about to have a night with a woman; he witnesses someone getting kidnapped and tries to pursue until he crashes, while he's under the influences.

As the Intelligence identifies the victim, Voight and Ruzek visit the victim's parent's home to talk with the family; but apparently, the father had already known about it since the kidnappers had called for a ransom. But things take a twist when Voight and team learned that there something about the victim's father.

It turns out that the kidnapped victim's father had killed the kidnapper's son; because of a special relationship that he didn't want to be out in the world. Ruzek talks with the kidnapper but dies after Halstead took a shot. The victim's father on the only hand was charged and taken away.

In the end, Ruzek opens up to Burgess, who's been trying for the last few weeks, and go out to dinner.
"Buried Secret" was a very good episode and one that I very much enjoyed Adam Ruzek's character perspective. Mainly when he's drunk and about to have a night of fun; but goes full police mode even when he's drunk. It's fun and hilarious but all in all heart. That story in this episode was one that had me going with the twist and turns. I think all in all we can all agree that the ending with Burgess and Ruzek left us on a very good note. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Celebration: Chicago Fire "Light Things Up"

Watch Chicago Fire Episode: Light Things Up - NBC.com

When in doubt, never go to work on your wedding day. Here's a recap!

Wednesday night's episode of Chicago Fire was crazy and emotional and ended happily. But one thing is sure: if it's your Wedding day, never do what Cruz did. It's Cruz's wedding day, and to get the jitters away, he decides to work the shift. That might have been a bad idea as residents from another side of Chicago decided to take a stand by protesting at Firehouse 51 about their firehouse station being closed.

Things escalated when more protesters took over Firehouse 51; even the CFD PR guy couldn't calm the situation. Casey goes to the alderman of that community and gets him to come down to talk with the protesters. But when one of the protesters suffers from crushed syndrome, Foster saves him by making an incision in the guy's arm.

Soon, things go from bad to worse when a brawl occurs, but the CPD comes in to make arrests. But Cruz is found on the ground and knocked out with a cut on his head.  Back at Med, Cruz is cleared and gets ready for the wedding, but the rest of the 51 meet with the protester to show what Gallo and Ritter had done on social media that made both share their message of one community.

Meanwhile, during the chaos at 51, Brett is grieving the loss of her biological mother, and Casey, Kidd, and Foster are there to help her. She gets a surprising visit from Julie's husband to tell her that he can't take care of the child and tells her to either take her or give her up for adoption. Brett tells Casey about the situation, and he confronts her, telling her that when Brett decides, he'll support her. After the chaos ends, she sees Julie's husband and advises him on whether to give her sister up for adoption or not.

Chicago Fire's Joe Minoso on How Cruz's Wedding Episode Honors ...

With only minutes to spare in the episode, we finally get to the wedding, and what a wedding it was for the Chicago Fire. As Chole walks down the aisle, she sees Cruz's cut and tells him she loves him as he tells her to.  As they said their "I dos," the celebration began, and everything ended with smiles and maybe future engagements.

"Light Things Up" was the episode that didn't disappoint. Yeah, we knew a wedding was coming into this episode, but in the Chicago Fire style, we must deal with drama before celebrating with happy tears. This episode had so much balance with humor, emotions, and thrills that it felt like a bottle episode but, in a way, didn't. I wish there were a digital clip or episode of what Cruz's bachelor party was like. I want to know what Severide pulled off.

But the message or theme in this episode was as good as it could have been, and it's still a message we need right now. It had that decisive moment like in the "A Chicago Welcome" episode.

While Cruz's wedding and protest situation was good and all, the Brett storyline was so good as well. That storyline was so influential for even Brett to deal with her baby sisters. But I think that her talk with Julie's husband had changed his mind. Plus, I just ate up that Brett and Casey scene. Whether or not they end up together, I love their friendship. And I expect new music videos on YouTube of those scenes will be up by the weekend.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the final episode of the season of Chicago Fire next Wednesday at 9/8c on NBC.

Hang on Tight: Chicago Med "Just a River in Egypt"

Chicago Med season 5, episode 19 preview: Just A River In Egypt

Welcome to the rapid river that is Chicago Med. Here's a recap!

This week's episode of Chicago Med had a lot going on, so let us get into it right here. Maggie and Ben have been with that little boy for a few weeks, and will soon be adopted. But the kid's health takes a turn for the worse, and to make matters even worse, the DCFS turns down the kid to have a procedure. After the kid's health was hanging in the balance, he finally got the procedure, but the adoptive parents backed out. Not to worry, Maggie and Ben will adopt him. Yes!

Will and Hannah's relationship could be severe after spending the last few weeks at her place. They treat a pregnant patient but risk her life to have a baby while battling brain cancer. Her condition worsens with time and treatments; Hannah and Will follow the patient's order to help save her baby no matter what, even if that's against her husband's wishes. Not only did the pregnancy have to be terminated, but the mother had also died. Curry sees the relationship between Will and Hannah and wonders if their relationship is clouding his judgment. I wouldn't deny it.

Sharon gets good news about her son staying in Chicago and working at Med. But he worries about the job after seeing him trying to figure out how to be friends with the other doctors, what they like, and such.

The main event deals with Ethan, April, and Crockett. When two patients come to the ED, Ethan questions whether or not his patient jumped off the bridge to the other patient's car. He and Dr. Charles try to deal with the parents, but the father doesn't come to see eye to eye. Ethan makes a drastic move by awakening Crockett's patient to get her word if that patient jumped or was pushed off the bridge. That upsets Crockett and lets Ethan take a swing at him.

After that happened, Ethan talked with Dr. Charles about their patient and came to terms with the fact that it was not Crockett he was mad at but April. At home, he awaits April's arrival and tells her he'll be at a hotel until she finds a new place. Ouch!

"Just a River in Egypt" was an excellent episode. I felt that this episode was on overdrive at times with Ethan/April/Crockett, along with Will and Hannah. I think I'm with Curry about how Will's relationship with Hannah might have jeopardized their patient. Could there have been another outcome? Probably. I thought Ethan had a powerful storyline in this episode dealing with the patient who may or may not have jumped off the bridge and a controlling father. Plus, figuring out who he should be mad at turned out to be April and not Crockett.

We have had a lot of drama going into this season with Ethan and April in the relationship department. Something tells me that there might be one last effort to save this relationship, and coming into next week's episode, what looks like Ethan puts himself on the line.

Maggie and Ben was something that I saw coming, but it still made me happy for the characters to step up to help this kid. I mean, in the previous episode, you knew that after they skipped their honeymoon to stay with that kid, they were going to adopt him.

The episode had good character development with Ethan, Maggie, and Ben. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch the last episode of the season of Chicago Med next Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC.

Guns and Politics: Chicago PD "What Could Have Been"

Guns and politics never do go away. Here's a recap!

As Burgess waits for Blair, her boyfriend, for their date night; she waited so long that she had his cell phone pinned on his location but by the time she gets there, he's dead. As the team investigates; we see Burgess hide her emotions for a guy that she's been enjoying for a while but was going to end their relationship. That is until she learns that he was seriously planning on staying to be with her. Thinking that's gotta be drugs or money thing that got Blair killed, there was another connection with another victim.

It didn't get good until the investigation started to turn towards Ray Price and his family. As Burgess dug deeper and the team searchers on Ray's daughter's social media; they found what is the evidence that ties this only thing up. Voight talks with Ray about the video of his daughter, but Ray doesn't want to say anything. Soon as he tries to tell Voight, Ray's wife comes in and tells him the entire thing that she had killed Blair and the other guy as they were blackmailing them to resign from the mayor race.
Voight gets a confession from Ray and makes a deal with the AD of a seven-year sentence for him. In the end, Voight and Ray have one last drink in the holding cell thinking about what could have been if this didn't happen. I know what would have happened, Chicago would be getting a great mayor.

"What Could Have Been" might be one of the least enjoyable episodes of the season and that's only in the first half of the episode; while the second half was very good with such a twist that really shocked me. As much as I enjoyed the character of Burgess, this was one of my least favorite episodes of hers. Burgess was so out of character in a way that I just didn't believe what she was doing, let along saying to everyone from the team to even Blair's sister. But I guess the one thing we got out of this episode was Burgess and Ruzek working together.

But the Wendell Pierce's performance was very good; it was his character's story that made me watch this till the end; even though it wasn't his great as his other performances in other shows. I still think it was a shocker that Ray's wife did the killing; as I didn't think any of Ray's family would have done it. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Fun and Stressful Time at Cloud 9: Superstore "Scanners"/"#Cloud9Fail"

Image result for superstore scanners

"Scanners"

Another fun episode with games and even setbacks. Here's a recap!

As Amy announces that Corporate wants everyone to cut down on their hours per week. With a whole lot of bad feedback, Amy tells everyone that it's Dina that settled the schedule because she can take all those sad stories and throw them away; but not this time as Dina suffers from back pain every time she hears sad stories. She finally snaps and gives everyone all the hours that they need, even talking with Amy about it they agreed about cutting others employees' hours like Jonah.

It's a fun time at Cloud 9 when the store gets new digital scanners. It soon becomes a game between Team Yogurt vs Team Soup and the winner who can scan everyone from their opponent's team wins. After making some moves, Jonah and Glenn fell for Cheyenne's injury as they got scanned, but what Garrett scanned was their own tags.

I very much enjoyed this episode, from Jonah vs Garrett battling who can scan the most to Amy and Dina dealing with the hourly cutbacks. I just love that scene when Amy is down on the floor with Dina and not only help pull her leg, but also asking about what she watches and it was YouTube. Why? Because it has everything on it that you ever need. That's a classic scene right there. Very good story and character development. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Image result for superstore #Cloud9Fail

"#Cloud9Fail"

Not only does Cloud 9 deal with more hourly cutbacks but deals with social media shamming that even bring HR. Here's a recap!

With more hourly cutbacks, Cloud 9 is not only dealing with shorter hours but also one hell of a messy story that even customers post photos and videos of it on social media. When Amy talks to Corporate about it, she learns that they can give her more hours if needed. With that in mind, Amy and Jonah decide to do more on social media to get more hours but it turned into a visit from Luanne (guest star Chrissy Metz), from the HR department.

Luanne knows that it was an employee because they used the passcode WiFi at the story. That lead her with Dina to look at the security cameras but the only thing that they saw was Garrett releasing Dina's birds. Don't worry I'll get to that later. Soon Luanne talks with Amy and Jonah about the person's pass searches and soon Carol shows up tell Luanne that it was Sandra because she saw Sandra with her boyfriend in the previous episode and wants to get back at her.

Sandra gets fired and not only is sad for a bit but gets pumped from the staff who cheered for her to fight the power of Corporate. We see Sandra doing something that we've never seen her do before and it was fantastic!

Also, Dina pulls Garrett aside and get him to see something...it was his sneakers collection in flames. She gets even with him and tells him that she knows what he did to her birds. Not to mention that the employees try to use their time to have a garage sale; someone needs to tell them what Superman #1 is worth and Micky Mantle rookie card too. Crazy!!

"#Cloud9Fail" was another fantastic episode from beginning to the end. Chrissy Metz's performance was very good and even the scene with Dina was hilarious. Welcome to Cloud 9, Chrissy!! The Amy and Jonah story was very good; I couldn't get enough of it as they try to figure out how to get out of the situation. And not to mention, Dina finding out about her birds. That really bit Garrett in the sneakers. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Superstore Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.

FYI: Next week's episode is Sanda's Fight. I kind of wonder if we're gonna see Sandra like we never have seen her before.

Love in the Air? Chicago Fire "No Such Thing As Bad Luck"/"Until The Weather Breaks"

Image result for chicago fire no such thing as bad luck

"No Such Thing As Bad Luck"

Boden meets a blast from his past during a rescue, while Cruz gets an award for his service with the CPD. Here's a recap!

During a house fire call, Boden meets a high school friend, but Casey and Severide think she might have set it up. Well, Boden got to the bottom of it and, later on, learned that her son was the one who set the fire as he was addicted to drugs. Boden gets between him and her, sees him drop the gun, and offers help at a drug rehab center.

After his heroic duty with Chicago PD, Cruz was awarded a commendation for his work. But after he learns about the award, he ignores Severide's orders during that house fire call. Later, when heiss about to get his commendation, he knows that Severide will be the one to give it to his play and sing it on his jacket.

Kidd and Otis thought they had made a colossal mistake when they learned that the dog statue was Molly's good luck charm, and giving it away had caused lousy luck. Herrmann gets word of the IRS auditing the bar. Kidd and Otis try to get the statue back, but when they bring it up at the firehouse, the figure is broken, and later that night,t Herrmann tells them that things are good to leave the statue broken.

Severide and Kidd's relationship takes an awkward turn as some think that Severide has stayed at the bar until Kidd leaves. Foster is in it and tells Severide that maybe he will give her space.

The episexcellentery is good. I thought that Boden's high school friend was going to go after him in a fatal attraction meets fire t, but it wasn't and well written. I couldn't get enough of the humor storyline of the hunt for the dog statue. And I think Severide is learning not to be so protective as he could win Kidd by not being always there. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

Image result for chicago fire until the weather breaks

"Until The Weather Breaks"

Chicago Fire is back with an exciting new episode that will not only play with your heart but leave you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed the episode "Until The Weather Breaks" as it's probably one of my favorite episodes of the season; I could reach up there in bottle episodes on this show. Firehouse 51 gets a surprise visitor, a kid hiding in the firehouse. Everyone tries to comfort the kid from Brett, Casey, and even Tuesday, but the reason is the real thriller as the kid was a witness in a murder, and one of the shooters happens to find him and looks for him.  But that got stopped when Otis called out on his game, and everyone tried to get him out and away from the kid, but thanks to Severide and Brett, the guy was caught.

Also, in the episode, there is more Severide and Kidd drama, leading to Kidd learning that Foster helped Severide deal with his feelings for Kidd. Casey wants to take an adventurous trip around the world, while Severide doesn't like the idea; Brett thinks it's fantastic and cute. She even asked Casey if he was down for a group trip. Why not?

"Until The Weather Breaks" is probably one of my top ten episodes of this season. It had an outstanding balance of dramatic and humorous moments that I can't get enough of. We get some good character development with Casey and Brett (not a lot), but Otis is affected by the gunman coming into the firehouse. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

A Father's Love: Chicago Med "Never Let You Go"

Image result for chicago med never let you go

What a father does for the love of his child and girlfriend puts the ED in a hostage situation. Here's a recap!

"Never Let You Go" is an hour full of on the edge of your seat, grab the tissues episode. When a pregnant teenager comes in about to give birth and give him up for adoption, the father shows up and gets kicked out by the father of the patient. It soon turns into a hostage situation when the baby's father comes back with a gun. While Natalie and Will try to help the pregnant patient, Conner not only tries to save the pregnant patient's father but his own as well.

Soon the pregnant patient is about to give birth but is also suffering from a ruptured uterus; both Conner, Natalie, WIll and Maggie all help to deliver the baby but also save the mother. As soon as both the mother and baby are okay, the boyfriend wants to take them out of the ED, but Goodwin takes the baby and walks the boyfriend towards her so the sniper can shoot him. The boyfriend dies instantly in front of Conner and Goodwin. The mother decides to keep the baby after telling her father that she loves him. Conner's dad got the surgery thanks to Ava and Natalie talks to Will but learns that he and Agent Lee are an item.

I thought that this was literally one of the best action pack, thrilling episode of the season. It literally had me on the edge of my seat. Even though the cast gives a great performance, S. Epatha Merkerson gives her best performance in this episode as it really did focus on her character in the hostage situation, because she did try to help the boyfriend with the situation earlier in the episode. It was literally a powerful episode and I can't find any more words to describe it. Highly recommend watching this episode before this week's new episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Lessons from Carrie: Fresh Off The Boat "Rancho Contento"/"Vice Mommy"

Image result for fresh off the boat rancho contento

"Rancho Conteno"

To set for retirement or not that is the question!

After celebrating a special anniversary, Louis gave Jessica a gift of retirement papers. Not liking the idea, Jessica turns down Louis' plan, but he won't give up. As Jessica signs up to take classes at a college, Louis shows her the place "Rancho Conteno" a place where retirees make something of themselves, but Jessica still turns it down. Louis finally understands the reason when Jessica tells him that the reason that she doesn't want to retire is that she hasn't accomplished and wants to make a legacy as principal.

Meanwhile, Eddie tries to improve himself by writing in a journal. He asked Trent what his sister, Tina, is into and learns that she's a fan of Sex in the City. He learns to put his friends first and does that for the Dance, Dance Revolution. That wins him Tina's heart and when she asked him to hang out, he declined because of his plans with his friends but a raincheck was applied.

"Rancho Conteno" was another hilarious episode. There was plenty of character growth in this episode with Jessica, Louis, and Eddie, who might have had the best in this episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Image result for fresh off the boat vice mommy

"Vice Mommy"

Vice Mommy" was a good episode but it had some moments that was lagging at times. Louis awards Eddie for his work, but Eddie isn't quite liking it and tries to give it to someone who deserves it. As Jessica is going to school, Even takes on the responsibility when she's gone but also tries to still have their mommy and son time, which doesn't turn out well for Evan.

I couldn't feel where Eddie storyline was going at times and but I did enjoy the ending the episode when Eddie confronts Tina about how he wants to ask her out so bad; which she says yes. The Evan storyline was very good and hit its mark with hilarious moments and memorable moments when Evan tells Jessica the truth after Grandma threw a party. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

You can catch Fresh Off the Boat Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.

Searching for Answers: Supergirl "Shelter from the Storm"/"The Fanatical"/"Dark Side of the Moon"

Image result for supergirl shelter from the storm

"Shelter from the Storm"

The hunt is on for Reign as she's trying to find Ruby.

Reign attacks Lena and James in search for Ruby, after Lena uses her man-made kryptonite on her, she runs away. After telling and showing Kara, it doesn't put them on good speaking terms until the it helped take down Reign.

Lena tells Kara and Alex where Ruby is staying: Lex's mansion that's been protected from the world. Alex heads over there and stays with Ruby, until Ruby makes a phone call to her mother which brings Reign over.

Just before Kara moves in, Mon-El and Brainaic comes back to help and finish the mission. Mon-El and Kara stops Reign with the help of Lena's kryptonite that Mon-El uses in the machine gun.

After the capture of Reign, Alex confronts Ruby that what she saw wasn't her mother, but tells her that she won't lie to her to protect her anymore. It looks like Kara forgives and thanks Lena for the help but even though it looked like things look well for them. That is until Kara meets with Lena on their way to see Ruby and Lena tells her that Supergirl crossed the line and can't trust her.

We are left with a cliffhanger of Tonya, a Conville follower, taken the Coville's journal.

This was another amazing episode. There were many moments from Lena and Supergirl back and forth on what's right and wrong to the moments of when J'onn ask for his father's help, most of his memory is almost not there anymore. Even coming up with Coco Coffee, which I'm up for.

Overall, I give this episode a8/10.

Image result for supergirl the fanatical

"The Fanatical"

As Kara talks to James about Lena's mistrust in Supergirl, Tonya brings them Coville's journal to give to Supergirl. But when Olivia comes in looking for Tonya, she plays James and kidnaps her. Guardian chases them and fights them til James gets shot blowing off his mask and the cops come, but escapes with Tonya.

Olivia demands James to release Tonya or they'll release video that he's Guardian. It brings a bit of fear and deja vu to James as he tells Lena about his first time getting handcuffed by the cops.

Kara and Mon-El investigate Coville's cult place and seeing remnants of a nuclear explosion. They look into Coville's journal and Kara realizes that the cult is trying to make a new Worldkiller using Harun-El ( a small black krytonite staute).

After coming to terms, Tonya gives herself up to the cult and brings Mon-El. Soon, Olivia starts the ritual to transform herself into a Worldkiller, Mon-El sends a signal to Supergirl to locate where they are at.

After a brief fight, Kara reasons with Olivia enough for her to give up the desire to be a Worldkiller. But when the statute couldn't come off her hand, Kara uses her leaser vision to take it off and ice breath to cool her hand.

Later on, Winn and Lena find more about the Harun-El, which can be used to help Sam, on a meteor. But when Reign's power over the kryptonite is overpowering, Kara and Mon-El deiced to take J'onn's spaceship and headed over there as fast as they can.

Also Alex tries to cheer up Ruby, who's still dealing about her mother. When nothing seems to work, both Alex and J'onn take Ruby and J'onn's father to an arcade place. After things not going so well, Ruby and J'onn's father bonded while playing Foosball.

I thought this episode was simply amazing. The one moment that really stood out was the Ruby and Alex but Ruby and J'onn's father too. It was just a beautiful performance and so well written.

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.
