Mind Think Different: Chicago Med "Playing By My Rules"

Will this be the end of #Manstead? Will Dr. Rhodes face the new rules for the hybrid OR? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago Med.

With Will facing pressure to stop treating Ray, instead of taking it out on them, he takes his anger against Natalie and their patients. He is trying to get Will to let his patient go so they can override the consent for his daughter to donate her organs, but he doesn't want to do it. But when Goodwin and the board decided to let the father go. Thinking that this could be the end of Manstead, as Will is up on the roof, Natalie joins him and asks if he wants the ring back. Instead of saying yes, he tells her he wants to marry her, and the two hug with emotion.

Rhodes gets word from Goodwin that the hybrid OR will be used for other surgeries. That news doesn't sit well with him, and it builds increasingly more of a battle with Lanik. After taking the OR back, Rhodes performs a dangerous operation that pisses Lanik, but in the end, the patient comes out okay. But when Goodwin heard of what happened with Rhodes, she told him that she was the one who authorized it, not Garrett. But she threatened him that if he ever did that again, she would fire him. That did turn Ava on and got her and Rhodes kissed in the prep room.

Maggie and April butted heads because of their way of managing the ED. With Maggie being Rhodes' top OR nurse, things have been relatively smooth without her when April takes over. After confronting, the two made up.

Ethan and Charles take on a case of the week when a veteran comes in with Vicki. The patient comes with a horrible head wound that's caused by itching. She tells Ethan that she can't stop itching, and it worsens.   But when Neurosurgeon sees her, he thinks that she needs surgery. But Charles doesn't think so and teaches Ethan how the mind can play horrible tricks on you. After leading the trick of playing with the mind, Ethan agrees that their patient doesn't need surgery and gets her to do a test. After looking in the mirror and scratching the other side of her head, her itching was about gone. Will it help in the long term? We'll have to wait and see. 

"Playing By My Rules" was another fantastic episode. There were many intense and emotional moments in this episode, from Natalie and Will butting heads on their patients to Rhodes going rouge against Lanik again and Goodwin in his ED OR. The case of the week with Ethan and Charles was a strong story that kept the episode interesting as it went on. Here I was, thinking it was a bug. And there were moments of WOW! from Rhodes and Ava kissing to Natalie and Will staying together. But Ethan decides to ask Vicki out, with April viewing it too. Ouch! Drama, right?

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Family Bonding: Chicago PD "Fathers and Sons"

Disco Bob returns but is he bad or good? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago PD.

"Fathers and Sons" was an amazing and thrilling episode that really put the character of Adam Ruzek on the fence. When he goes undercover to take down a top drug dealer, Ruzek sees a familiar face, his father. Getting pressure not only from Hailey but Voight too. Ruzek meets with his dad and learns that he's just being the dealer's security. When the deal with Intelligence was about to be made, Ruze's father comes in and helps Adam take down the leader and other members.

Later on, Ruzek visits his father and he tells Ruzek that he's broken. Not to mention that the reason why he took the job was to get enough money to pay on the house. And ends the episode with "what kind of father asked his son for money?" which was pretty chilling and heartbreaking.

This was an amazing episode and one of Patrick John Flueger's solid performance. His chemistry between Jack Coleman was outstanding.  Even with that ending moment, there are some strong moments like Hailey and Voight pressuring Ruzek on the case to do something about his father. Or the moment when Voight tells Ruzek that he filed papers that his father was working with the Intelligence.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Family that's Together, Stays Together: Chicago Fire "Thirty Percent Sleight of Hand"

When Severide saves a father and son, can he save the family too? The heat is on Boden to make a decision for a new lieutenant.  Here's a recap of Chicago Fire.

Tensions build on Boden as he has to make a decision to appoint a new lieutenant. Jerry gives him the perfect candidate Trey Jennings, who happens to be Jerry's brother in law. Whether he picks him or not, Boden makes his decision at the fire fighters fundraiser. When he makes the announcement, Boden appointed Chris Herrmann as the new Lieutenant.

I don't think that Jerry wasn't too pleased to hear and I don't think Trey is going to be crying spilled milk about it either.

Severide rescues a kid as him and his father crashed over a bridge. The accident seemed questionable when the wife/mother get to Med and thinks that her soon to be ex-husband is the one that did it. She gives some convincing points about how he would want to die and take his son along with him, but  after hearing the husband's side of the story Severide decides to look into the accident again.

Looking around with Kidd, Severide looks around even a few feet away from the accident to find a dead deer. Kelly makes it back to the hospital and talks to the mother about how he found a dead deer that caused the accident, not her husband. The mother/wife seems to be very grateful and dropping the divorce.

This was an amazing episode from the beginning to the end. From the case of the week storyline for Severide to help a family before an ugly divorce gets even uglier to the intense moments of Boden's decision. Herrmann is the perfect choice for Lieutenant, and since he took the test a while ago its time for him to shine. There other moments, mainly when Truck 81 gets the call of a magic show gone wrong was hilarious!

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

Gut Decisions: Chicago Med "Heavy Is The Head"

As Conner and Maggie put to the test of saving a patient while a med student is in questioned of her methods.  Here's a recap of Chicago Med!

As Conner's hybrid OR is almost ready, a patient comes in with a bad heart and is need of repair. Conner can't get him up to the OR in time and decides to use his hybrid OR, which upsets Maggie. With the typical OR nurse can't find anything, Maggie steps in and helps Rhodes. In the end, Conner and Maggie saved the patient and he thinks that she would be great if she works with him in the OR. That might come different for Maggie.

Natalie and Curry treat a woman, who's in the early stage of pregnancy, is suffering pain. All signs point out to be an ectopic pregnancy, but the mother won't consent to the surgery thinking that god will help save this baby. Even Charles talks to her but sees that she's talking and thinking clearly about her decision. Curry doesn't like it and misinforms the mother about that there isn't a heart beat and had got the surgery. But Charlies learn that the equipment didn't malfunction and confronts Curry and tells her that he's gonna look thoroughly  of her cases.

Ethan and April deal with a child, who's in need of a kidney transplant. But they learn that the father is red flagged as he kidnapped him and calls the cops. As he's arrested, his son gets worst and tries to look for a kidney. Seeing that the father is a match, Gwen orders the team not to do the transplant. But the father later shoots himself in the head and Choi had no other options but to do the transplant.

And when all things seem to go Halstead's way, after treating his father's old friend, he asked if he could rent out a place that he owns for the wedding reception. After agreeing to terms, he tells Natalie about the deal. As they are thrilled about it; it turns out when a visit from Jay turns things upside down. The guy is a mob boss, who's been under watch for a while now and ask Will to step away.

"Heavy is the Head" is not only a great song from the Zac Brown Band, it's also a really great episode. As much as Ethan and April's story in this episode was very powerful; it was very interesting to see Conner and Maggie work together. The Curry story was shocking and pushing Charles is something I would be afraid to see from now on. And I don't think Will will turn down the place. I don't see why not have a wedding at Molly's, right?

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Secret Is Revealed: The Blacklist "Sutton Ross (No. 17)" Season Finale

In the season finale of The Blacklist, the secret will be revealed one way or another. Spoiler Alert!

Let's recap it: We meet Sutton Ross as he pretends to be FBI agents and steals Data and information on someone as he tries to steal someone for money. He's the guy that Red and Liz are hunting down, because he has the duffel bag of bones. After both failing to get him, Liz finally got to Sutton with his own game, pretend to be a buyer.

Just as Liz demands answers from Sutton, he tells her that he'll tell her only alone, which happens but til he starts to hold her hostage. Red thinks that Sutton is bluffing, but Aram and Cooper can't take it and lets both of Liz and Sutton go. Sutton calls Red to demand to see him or he'll kill Liz.

After making an arrangement and distracting the FBI on where Red went, Red gets there tied to a chair in-front of Liz. With Red not talking, Sutton takes Liz to the other room and being beaten. It was until Red decides to talk til the FBI came in with Dembe and Red goes in rescuing Liz. He soon leaves with the duffel bag and shoots Sutton point blank in the chest. Red walks out and heads to Dominic's house to burn the bones, thinking that Liz doesn't know, but that's not true.

As Liz is standing over Tom's grave, she's talking to him like he's actually there and tells him what really happen that as soon as Sutton talked that he needed to get out and that the escapee was Liz's plan. Plus Liz meets with the person that helped along with this, Jennifer. They planned to get Red talking, even if Liz had to get hurt badly for it. But she finally tells Tom that she knows the secret of the bones that it's Raymond Reddington and that she'll take down Red one way for good.

So okay, this season finale was everything that I had hoped and more as it was exciting, dramatic, emotional (with Aram and Samar: ALL GOOD!). But the point that I really didn't believe was Liz taken hostage fro Sutton at the Post Office. I would know that Liz would kick Sutton's butt in that situation. Megan is a great actor, but Liz wasn't so much. But I will admit that I was shocked to see Jennifer there as I really didn't think she was involved. To see two half-sisters come together and working against Red was pretty creepy and shocking. This really sets up a terrifying season six, unless Red can figure it out before Liz takes him out with her soon to be assembled team. 

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10 and the season a 9/10.

Fight For Love: The Blacklist "Lawrence Dane Devlin (No. 26)"

The hunt is on, not just for the bag of bones for Red, but also for Samar as her life is in the balance.

Picking up where we left off in the previous episode, all hands are on deck to search and find Samar and her abductor and that includes Reddington to help too. Aram goes beyond, once again, to find Samar even if that has him getting answers from Moore, but in exchange for answers he wants his bible, for which Aram got him.

The only answer he would give was of a prolific killer that he had hired to kidnap the girl and Aram took that information and went with it. From searching they wind up finding the suspect Lawrence Dane Devlin, who happens to be a man who likes to kill and feed mother nature of them.

Finding the guy's hide out and lab, missed Samar and Lawrence, who happen to be driving Samar to another location to kill her. But she tries her best to stop him by stabbing him with a broken metal rod from the van but the final blow was for Lawrence was a bear attacking and killing him (thanks bear!). But as Samar grabs Lawrence's phone, the bear knocks the van that she's trapped in and it rolls down to the river, where she quickly calls Aram. Aram thinks of where she could be and when driving up he stops and after looking around seeing dead body and drag marks, he sees the van and runs down there. There he tries breaking in, finds and searches for the right key and as soon as he finds it he gets her out as quick as possible but would she be alive or dead? So far she's alive and on a breathing machine where Aram talks to her about getting married and that he won't leave her side while playing her song.

In the meantime, as Red goes out to searching for the bag of bones, he learns of where it might be at an auction under another crime boss. Red tries to arrange a meeting with him but turns him down til Red shoots the place up and demands to see the man. After they talk and asked about the bag and Ina Garvey but the guy never say a bag til they search at the video tape and see that Ian met with a man that Red thought was dead, Sutton Ross. After looking, he bumps with Liz as she too got the same information as Red did.

The two are at a stand still as both says that they'll find the bag of bones before they do, and leave it left it at that. Red leaves Liz there without given her a ride back home on his plane.

This felt like an episode that deserves a two hour time slot instead of a separating a week apart. As much as Red and Liz's story arc this half of the season has been a thrill ride and unlike any other Red-Liz relationship that we've ever seen, this episode was definitely an Aram and Samar episode. Showing hoe much they each love one another. It's a touching love story for the characters. Even the song playing while Samar is at the hospital was enough to be grabbing the tissues.

Anyway, the season finale is coming next week and with the news coming less than 12 hours before the NBC fall schedule was released the show gets picked up for a six season. And with that calming my mind, I believe that the finale will be unlike anything the show has ever done and that's just watching the promo and where we are at with everything on the line with Sutton Ross.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

NBC Renews The Blacklist

Well, it looks like the mystery will keep unfolding for the bag of bones at NBC as it has renewed The Blacklist for a six season of 22 episodes.

The Blacklist this season is averaging a 0.9 demo with a 5.7 million weekly total viewers, just off half a tenth in the demo versus last season while up eight percent in audience. Among all the NBC dramas, the series ranks seventh in the demo just behind This is Us and all the Dick Wolf shows and Good Girls.

The show's current fifth season has been an eventful one for the FBI team. After losing her husband in a deadly shootout, Liz has spend the much of the second half of the season on the hunt for his murderer, Ian Garvey, who she successfully tracked down and killed in the April 25 episode.

Meanwhile, Red is in the pursuit of a duffel bag that contains unidentified human remains. According to the series creator Jon Bokenkamp, "we are going to find out the truth that is in this duffel bag and the identity of these bones: in the May 16th season ender.

With the news of The Blacklist getting renewed, there's still no word about Timeless (as both show are produced by the same company). Timeless serves up a wonderfully crazy finale on Sunday night and it's NBC's last remaining "bubble" drama that will either get picked up or dumped.

Clever Play Dad! The Blacklist "Nicholas T. Moore (No. 110)"

If there's one thing to get Liz to take a Blacklist case, that's to fool her pretty well, and this week's that one.

His doctor sidelines reduce the after suffering a concussion from the car accident that Garvey had caused. Red and Liz discuss searching for the bag for their purpose, but Red puts away a newspaper with a headline about a child found in the forest. Liz thinks it contains Red finding the bag of bones, but it is his clever way of getting her to take a case and for him to meet with his long-lost daughter.

The case that Liz and the FBI take on a cult is that an author has people believing that the events in it are actual. If someone escapes and is found, they must be burned due to the virus they have contained. But when the girl gets kidnapped from the hospital, Samar gets close enough to the suspect, but instead of taking down the guy, she's taken too. Aram is in full worried mode and tries to get Samar back, but after taking down Nicholas Moore and his cult, there is no sign of Samar, which means she is still kidnapped.

Meanwhile, going against his doctor's advice and Liz's, too, Red tries to meet with Jennifer, but she doesn't want to meet with him. But that all changed when she arranged a meeting with him, and in exchange for the location of where Gravey might have done with the bones, she wanted answers to why he left her and her mother. He explains the best he can how he was trying to go against the criminal organization The Kabul. But after all that, she doesn't believe it to be to save her and her mother as she tells him about Naomi, who had died a couple of years ago, and takes him to her grave. After taking him there, Red learns that Garvey went to Costa Rica and booked a flight there, but instead of going, he gets stopped by Liz, who not only wants to go but asks for his help to find Samar.

"Nicholas T. Moore" was another fantastic episode, mainly the story between Red and Jennifer, which was solid and asolidlling but ended with a heartbreaking note of the death of Naomi. The performance between Spader and Fiona Dourif was terrific. Also, Amir Arison gave a strong performance, seeing his character jump out of his shell to save Samar. As much as there have been a couple of times Aram has done that kind of thing, it still reminds me of when he was protecting Liz from The Director in Season 3. I wonder if this guy who has taken Samar is just a random person or is part of a known criminal organization that, for some reason, got a tip from Garvey about the bag of bones. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10,

Gut-wrenching: Chicago PD "Allegiance"

With Al arrested, does Voight have one more card up his sleeve to help his old partner?

Just like the previous episode, "Allegiance" puts Voight in between situations one being the case of the week of a undercover gun take down and Al getting arrested that puts much stress to his ability. With Atwater and Halstead going undercover to take down a gun deal that left Atwater in a tight situation between brothers, who one of them had to kill in order to make their boss accept and do the deal, but when telling Voight about it, he just replies to Atwater to whatever you had to do to get it done. For which, they did.

But it was the Al story that might have stolen the episode and Voight trying his best to get him out and drop the charges. Using one last card, asking Tommy Wells to take role of the judging for Al. With Al staying in jail, his wife trying to get him to tell the truth and not stand by the code, and the meeting between Voight and Al's wife wasn't pleasant at all. But by the time the bail sentencing, Wells was a no show, knowing that Woods had something to do with it.

Back at the Intelligence, Voight returns stunned and being asked by Antonio about what they could do, but Voight provokes and pushes him and them away while he goes to his office and takes a drink and thinking. It leads to him walking up to Woods' home and wanted to talk. But by the time he get there, Al gets a surprise of someone stabbing him in the stomach multiple times leaving him to bleed out and to be continued. 

"Allegiance" was a strong character driven episode arc for Voight of his downfall from Woods, who's power is taking him to greater lengths than anyone before. The episode really accelerate to intense and emotional moments, mostly to Voight whether it's trying to take down this gun deal with gang members or dealing with Al's case. I would be surprised if Voight really confess to his doing of that suspect, mainly because I think he might have one last move, but what would I know it's been five seasons and I'm still surprised at times. The episode lives to the hype after the previous episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Stand Off: The Blacklist "Ian Garvey Concussion (No. 13)"

It's the episode that we've been waiting for since the midseason finale and it does it in a classic Blacklist fashion.

It's the episode that we've all been waiting, but the question lays to this: who will get to Garvey first. With the thrills that this show has taken between Liz, Red and Garvey, it couldn't be any better when Red arranges a meeting with Garvey to get his secret bag, but of course you think that Liz will let that go? Nope. When word about how Garvey was going to ambush Red, Red didn't take the bate from Liz and the FBI but arrange form a Blacklist friend, Sinclair for help.

Thinking that Red would get his own double turns out to be the complete opposite as it turns out to be a Garvey double while Red has Garvey tied up. But the man wouldn't be in Red's custody for long when he get the car to crash and escapes.

Meanwhile, Liz has been busy talking to her long lost half sister about how Garvey killed Tom and all. Learning that Red lost Garvey, she asked her for help on where the bag would be, but when Garvey gets to the bar, Liz is there to demanded answers and the bag. But soon Red gets there and it turns into a three gun stand with Liz pointing a gun to Dembe. But it's Garvey that takes the shot at Red, which both Liz and Dembe shoots Garvey multiply times in the chest.

But Red shoots Garvey multiply times, while Liz shoots Red. Red and Dembe escapes when the FBI shows up. Liz tells Garvey that he will not die and comes with him to the ER, where she tries to get answers from him, til it was too late (if you take that by hand).

This episode, after coming back from a couple of weeks on break, was marvelous in the best possible way. It had it's classic Blacklist moments of Red and Garvey stand off, thinking that Red is a fake Red but was just the real Red and Garvey was the fake. It had the intense moment after moment where it's the scenes with Liz and her half sister, Red and Garvey or the stand out between the four at the bar.  This had Liz character driven on high speed throughout the episode, showing that she will do anything to get her answer. I don't know how the relationship between Red and Liz will do after this episode. But I know the hunt is on for the bag of bones and probably the one person that might know is Red's daughter, Jennifer.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Twist and Shocks: The Blacklist "Anna-Garcia Duerte (No. 25)"/"Zarak Mosadek (No. 23)"

With a new episode of The Blacklist tonight, here's a quick recap of the last couple of episodes.

"Anna-Garcia Duerte (No. 25)" 

As Red get in contact with an associate of the Nash Syndicate, he gets shot and killed while on the phone with Red. Thinking that it was Garvey, Red sets Liz and the Task Force on the case in order to recover the evidence that's they need to bring down him.

But the case takes a total left turn when learning that the associate's daughter happens to be his wife (now widow) and it doesn't end there when other "husbands" have been killed as well. The killings have been of the hands of Anna-Garicia Duerte, who was one of the girls that she helps killing their husbands. The one person that talked Anna to turn herself in was Samar, who might know a bit about what she's gone through.

In the meantime, Liz figures out that Red was the one that ordered the witness to disappear, but tells her that the witness isn't reliable for them to take down Garvey, but the guy is safe. But one thing is for sure, Liz will learn what's in that suit case one way or another.

The episode was very good as well as given a stunning twist to the case of the week. Also the build up to Liz getting Garvey has been breathtakingly good when it put the relationship with Red and Liz to another level. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

"Zarak Mosadek (Mo. 23)"

When Red gets the information about someone who knows Garvey, he tries to get Liz and the Task Force to come to Paris, but only getting the Task Force. There Red and the team try to get to one man who's son has been held hostage. Call it what you want, Red has one of the best times hanging and dealing with help to get to the guy. When saving the man and his son, Red get him to make a phone call to someone who knows Garvey, his boss.

Meantime, with Liz not going with Red and the team, she goes on her mission with Aram. They spy and steal documents about Garvey from another federal officer. Liz and Aram spy on Garvey at a pub, who doesn't do anything but eat and enjoy his time, but spots someone that he talks with and hugs when he leaves. There Liz takes her and asked her questions about Garvey, let alone show her the whole evidence board. She tells her that Garvey has been a good person to her, but tells Liz the shocking moment of the episode....that Garvey told her to keep away from her father.....Raymond Reddingotn.

Fun, suspense and most of all shocking when it comes to the final scene of the episode. It goes to show you that The Blacklist is still on it's game when it comes to shocking storyline moments like this one. I just can't wait to see how this Family Reunion will go now. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

Powerless: Chicago PD "Saved"

If you think that someone was going to be saved in this episode in this episode, think again as it holds another meaning and one hell of an hour for one member of the Intelligence Unit.

The episode starts off with Voight getting a call from a girl named Hannah that he remembers from the past, she asked about getting help but wouldn't tell him what it was about. When she leaves for the restroom, she actually leaves and Voight sees her get abducted by someone and drove off. Voight and Ruzek chase until they hear gun shots at a local bank where a couple of robbers where there stealing and shooting.

After the crew were gone, they see that it was the same vehicle that took Hannah. The Intelligence Unit work to find the car and find whoever knew Hannah. You can see throughout the episode that Voight was eager to find this girl and help her, even if she was later caught on camera holding a gun during an arm robbery.

But the truth comes out as Voight tells everyone that Hannah got his card from his wife, who was her school teacher at the time. Explains more that his wife thought could help her who wasn't going on a good path (the same thing what he did with Erin but making visits). But after Justin's death, he didn't hold up on his promise of visiting her and finds that being with this boyfriend of hers is the one leading her to the wrong path.

After finding the members from the shooting, they search and find where Hannah and her boyfriend where located at a car dealership. There it become a stand still and Voight decides to go in and try to talk them down, but it didn't turn out the way he wanted it as the boyfriend walks with Hannah outside and the cops shoot them both dead.

If that wasn't enough for Voight to handle, things aren't looking good for Al when it comes to getting the investigation off of his back. Voight is certain that he can get this fix and tries to get one of the Assistant  State's Attorney to help but really, Woods was just a step further to him and wants him to confess to his doings. Voight realizes that things are coming down pretty bad and even powerless to say the less. As he comes home, he views several of his family photos and picks up one with him, Al and Erin and just breaks it along with the rest of the photos.

"Saved" goes from the causal start for any Chicago PD episode to fast character driven and well developed episode that brings the emotions from the screen to my heart and mind. Whether it's Voight searching for Hannah to save or trying to help Al with the investigation, you would think that with Voight being Voight he would get the job done and celebrate with a glass of whiskey, but in this case you seem him become powerless to do anything. The performance from Jason Beghe's performance was amazing, probably one of the best episodes in a while to watch.

After this episode I don't know what comes next, will Voight come clean and help Al out of this serious investigation? I really don't think that Voight will take things to another level and take out Woods.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

What's your Breaking Point? Chicago PD "Breaking Point"

What is your breaking point? That's the one question that's asked in this episode not just to capture a suspect but also during an investigation for a member of the Intelligence Unit.

When an Alderman is found murdered, Voight and the team try to investigate but gets pressure from the victim's family, due to their political status in the neighborhood. But as their investigation leads to the victim's son's doing, he gets shot in the process and gets Voight to realize that what they have is a drug business problem with local gangs.

The team gets a tip about a shooter and takes a suspect in, but instead of talking he doesn't give a whole lot. Voight and Al think that the suspect is covering for someone, which Voight gives the guy the boot but followed and placed a microphone in his coat and when he calls someone talking about how they are close and informs his cousin Lamar about it.

The both capture both Lamar and his cousin and try to get them to spell. None of them do, Lamar doesn't take the blame and his cousin does but Al and Voight pulls off the question" what's his breaking point?" Which happens to be that the cousin has sickle cell anemia and needs special pain relief but holds it to him to talk or he won't get it, so he talked blamed it on his cousin Lamar.

Meanwhile, Al is being questioned and investigated about how a witness seen him and another woman, Erin, dumping a body at a construction site. Al asked Voight for help with money but he wouldn't help due to the money being a trust fund for his grandson. But Voight gives his word to help him out no matter what, but when it comes down to the end of the day the question that hangs to Al is what's his breaking point? That kid they got to talking was his sickle cell, for Voight it's Erin, but what's Al's?

"Breaking Point" was a very good episode with exciting drama, mainly between Al and Voight as Woods tries to bring down Voight for anything. Hell, even Ruzek can't get anything from Woods, as his talking goat. But the case of the week was good but not as strong like the others, but given the car chase scene was a killer to watch. I can't wait to see where this is going how Voight and Al will handle this and if their partnership/friendship will be in jeopardy. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

A Trouble Friendship: Chicago PD "Payback"

When a robbery turns into a homicide, the intelligence unit will investigate to find out that the suspect is someone close.

When Ruzek and Atwater meet up with Ruzek's CI, Ray, who happens to be a former cop, trying to get information. They get a call of an apartment robbery that also turned homicide when a little boy got shot in the head while just laying on the couch.

The investigation lead to a Latin gangs, but it seems that the Intel that Ruzek and Atwater got was false and questioned Ray about it. But the investigation lead to another way that all of this could be connected to a dirty cop, who happens to be in the narcotics unit, who's had records of making connections to gang members. But it turns out that the cop happens to be set up after she realized that she let her Intel use her place a couple of times. That Intel happens to be Ray. 

Ruzek and Atwater try to stop him as Ray was packing up at his boat but Ruzek crashes his party and the two meet face to face as he tries to get Ruzek to shoot him. But that wasn't going to happen as Ray was bluffing to Ruzek about having a gun thanks to Atwater tough tackles.

Meanwhile, it seems that Al's luck isn't going the way that he or Voight was hoping for as Voight got inside information about the witness who saw Al and Erin dumping that body. Al remembers him, who was trying to break into his car that night, and wants to see him. But Voight won't let that happen as he doesn't want him to jeopardize this.

Voight meets with the witness, who thinks that he was selling drugs but was just lending some money from a friend and not to mention spotted him at an addiction group meeting. Al gets worried and tries to call their bluff by filling out his retirement papers, but later on Al battles with demons as he plants drugs in the witness' car and gets busted for it. But word gets to Trudy and Voight that Al's pension has been on hold.

"Payback" was a good episode from start to finish. It may not be one of the best episodes this season but it sure was entertaining and satisfying to watch. I find the character development between Ray and Ruzek okay as there wasn't much to go on but just that it seems that they were former partners but never really give why Ray was like this to Ruzek. Overall, I give this episode 8/10.

Search and Get: The Blacklist "The Capricorn Killer (No. 19)

With ever so close to catching Tom's killer, Liz gets called to a cold case from her past that has reopened.

After the death of the detective that was helping Liz in the case, an eye witness has come forward and identified the man who did it as Ian. It's just one step close for Liz to bring that man to justice for Tom. But instead of bring the witness back to D.C., she gets assigned to a cold case that asked for her personally to help on.

Known as The Capricorn Killer, it's one of Liz cold case that she has yet to solve and dives back in thinking the the killer has returned. But looking at the evidence of the sword and where it was made, gave that they are messing with a copycat.

As they got close to the suspect, but escapes, Liz believes that the copycat is a former officer and gets help from Red on getting documents of former officers. That would lead to one officer and has Liz follow him til he spotted her and taken her to a cabin in the woods where she meets with her own therapist. She tells Liz how she's been trying to find a way to get her into her side of things, in a way like Reddingotn. But that quite ended when the FBI showed up and she escapes with Liz following her. But Liz let her get away and in hopes that they would work together as part of her network team (like father, like daughter, right?).

In the meantime, Red tries to get to Ian to make an exchange waver, for which Ian wants Red to stop the witness to make it to D.C. Red did that as Aram transfers the man but gets ambushed and taken. Aram feels terrible and tells Liz that he's working to find him til she tells him that the witness is already dead, but really isn't as Red still has him for control over Ian, but mark his words that soon things will get small for him and when he figures out who Ian is, he'll strike.

Of course, with the witness gone Liz is upset and mad at what happen and when she talked to Red about it, she asked him if had anything to do with it. We all know that he did and that soon, maybe in the next episode that she'll figure out and the boiling point between them will go another high point.

This episode was another good one with it building up to where Red and Liz's relationship will go again after this episode but also even though it might be far now, but closer to Ian as well. Anyone thinking that Ian could be a long lost brother of Raymond or Liz's mother? He must be someone that's high on the crime rate to try to take down Reddington. But that scene with Aram and Ian was not only intense but when Aram tells him to back the hell off I jumped off my seat screaming "hell yeah!" Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

#OneChicago Chicago PD "Profiles"/ Chicago Fire "Hiding Not Seeking"

Not only is Chicago PD celebrating its 100th episode, but also, why not make it big with a two-night #OneChicago crossover with Chicago Fire as well? Go big or don't go at all, and they sure went big for this crossover.

Chicago PD: "Profiles"

When PD and Fire are about to watch Platt talk on a morning news program, a bomb goes off in the middle of the interview. Platt seems to be okay and tries to save one of the journalists who's badly hurt by moving her to another room til Severide comes in and takes them to Cruz to lead them outside.

The Intelligence Unit dives in with a lead of a journalist leaving the building after dropping off a package. When they meet Uhim, he gets blown up from aAbomb'smailbox. Another lead led to a suspect who knows about IEDs. He is brought in, not involuntarily, and is kept in their custody until he's clear, even though he's getting killed on social media.

The suspect hunt leads the unit to a Chicago newspaper that fired a journalist, Sheppard, for wake news that the victims wrote Describing the suspect's house; he wasn't there, but Voight walks into the rooms where he sees photos and plans for his next move.

Upton soon gets a lead where someone has a connection with their suspect, and he points Voight and Antonio to ask for help from Boden and House 51. Boden thinks they will need Severide, but they need Brett and Gabby, who happens to have a connection with George. But Boden says no and leaves with a cliffhanger for Chicago Fire.

Chicago Fire: "Hiding Not Seeking"

Picking up where CPD left off, Voight and Dawsontrys tell teBoden that Gabby and Brett will have to do their thing while they sneak in and upload the guy's computer. Boden gives the okay and tells Voight that he wants to be there when it happens, which he agrees.

Gabby and Brett make their way to George's house and tell the guy that they're doing a health reassessment for all heart condition patients, which gets him to agree to let them in. While they take his pulse and ask him questions, Ruzek sneaks in and uploads the guy's computer. But when George gets a visit from someone, Brett and Dawson get out in time along with Ruzek.

Both Ruzek, Dawson, and Brett get out safe. Soon after,r House 51 gets a call of an explosion, where Severide and Boden meet with the knight riding Halstead coming in on a motorcycle. Severide shows Halstead the piece that blew up and got Voight on call.

Later, Boden and Severide know where the suspect might be hitting his places. Their lead lends them to a house where they find Sheppard's supplies and bombs. They searched all over his place and computers, and as soon as a new message was intercepted by Burgess and Upton, the CPD and CFD headed to what they thought was the newspaper building, but the place was the translation station.

Casey and Severide's team get there and try to get everyone out safely and find Sheppard. Soon, they spot him, and along with Voght, Halstead, and Boden, they rush to Sheppard and stop him from killing the editor of the Chicago newspaper that fired him. 

Things went pretty smoothly; everyone celebrated at Molly's, and not to mention that Brett and Antonio got the spark again and made out in the car. Also, Kidd and her boyfriend ended their relationship as she didn't want to meet his sister. But I also couldn't stop talking about Severide as well.

This crossover event was fantastic and had everything you would want in a crossover. This was probably one of the best since "A Dark Day" and "8:30 PM," not to mention "Three Bells" and "A Little Devil Complex." I couldn't get enough of the Voight and Boden scenes, which you don't get to see a whole lot. Not to mention, Jay Halstead riding a motorcycle was awesome!!! The writing and the performance of the cast were terrific. It felt like a movie event, not to mention a bit of tribute to Chicago for the milestone episode for CPD. Overall, I give this crossover event a 9/10.

Stand By Their Partners Chicago PD "Ghosts"

When a drug deal goes wrong, a blast from the past comes to one of the Intelligence Unit member.

When a drug deal goes wrong, Upton sees someone that she had worked with before, who happens to be working with one of the biggest case before joining the Unit. She decides to take on and bring her undercover character, Kelly, back from hiding and try to make a deal with the top drug boss, Booth, but it gets pretty intense when Booth questions her and Halstead to make sure they aren't lying.

We learn the reason why she left the case when Halstead confronts her about it with photos of her beat up from Booth. She wants to take him down no matter if Voight told them to shut it down or not and does and goes on with the plan. As the plan comes together, Booth takes advantage on Upton in front of Halstead but things get dicey when Booth's nephew sees Halstead about to grab something. Upton breaks away from Booth and chases after him. As Booth takes her to town, she finally gets the chances to beat the crap out of him and almost killing him, but Halstead stops her just in time.

With the the Unit at Molly's to celebrate, Upton stays home and gets a visit from Halstead, who is there for her in a time of need. She tells Halstead that her partner that Booth killed was someone she was very, very close with and the two drink their sorrows.

"Ghosts" was such a strong, intense, thrilling and such well developed character for Hailey Upton. This was Tracy Spiridakos best performance since joining the show as it gave such an emotional and intense background story of her past. Not to mention Jesse Lee Soffer was amazing in this episode too. This was definitely the perfect #Upstead episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

CPD will be off for the next couple of weeks.

Be Prepared: The Blacklist "Pattie Sue Edwards (No. 68)"

A deadly outbreak is spreading in a way that's uncommon, while Liz and the FBI team up with Singleton to find Tom's killer. The ending of this episode will leave you in a thrilling state of mind.

The FBI is dealing with a mass outbreak biochemical weapon, but what they figure out about this Blacklister is that she is out for information and revenge for the death of her husband. Pattie goes after one of the men who had her husband killed and get him to confess about it by threatening him with the deadly virus. But at one point, her plan fails and the two have to travel together to get the antidote, but Ressler and Samar are standing in their way.

After understanding Pattie's actions, Ressler comes close to them and try getting the guy to confess on his wrong doings. Soon after he confesses, they are taken in and treated.

Meanwhile, Red must deal getting audit and tries to get the auditor to turn around and walk away, even helped the guy's son get into the school of his dream. But that all turned away when another auditor comes and when you think that things were going to burn for Red's business, it goes the complete opposite. The auditor comes the next day and tells Red that they'll have to wait due to their office burning down.

As for Liz, who teams up with Singleton to find one of the men that help kill Tom. Singleton gives some information on the syndicate and helps Liz spy on one of the men, but things get complicated and Liz turns to Aram for help to trace the call that the man was on with that turned out to be someone from Singleton's office. Liz calls Singleton to tel him about it and that she was calling them. Singleton locates the phone in Ian Garvey's desk and soon Liz gets a notified about a dead body that turns up to be Singleton.

I thought that this episode was another good one from start to finish. The case of the week was another good one with a deadly virus and a very understanding purpose for the character to do so. I thought the Red situation with the Auditor was suppose to go the other way with Red burning down his business instead of burning down the auditor's office and not to mention Singleton, who I thought was another bad guy, turns out to get killed from Garvey after the trace to his phone from Liz. The Liz story arc as been nothing but amazing with piece by piece of thrilling moments and unbelievable twist. We're coming to where Liz and Garvey might be head on facing one another, but I think Red will be the one in between trying to make a deal, mostly with Garvey. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Cooking and Making: The Blacklist "The Cook"/The Invisible Hand"

"The Cook (No. 56)"

As Liz continues to search for Tom's killers, she gets help from Red, which leads to the service from one of the most innovative tech guys he knows, a kid. As the kid hacks into the eye, it has information and triggers a GPS of their location. Red gets everyone out, including Liz, who wants to take them on, but he wouldn't let that happen.

Liz thinks that Red is helping because he wants to hide something. Of course, he denies it but then later tells her that the suitcase contains a secret that he must keep secret. But if Liz will help him, she will know that secret.

Meantime, the task force is looking for the Cook, a Blacklister who happens to kill people by setting arson fires in homes.  They get help from a known arsonist, who's up for early release. With his help, the clues led to someone they had no idea, someone who worked in the Catholic church. As soon as they head off to the latest victim's house, instead of killing his victim, he kills himself by setting himself on fire.

"The Cook (No. 56)" was an excellent episode. I thought the storyline of Red and Liz was good and developed very well. I can't understand how Red doesn't know Star Wars and such. And not to mention, given the kid's mother's four pet spiders, the number four means death. Oops! Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"The Invisible Hand (No. 63)"

The FBI gets help from Reddington to take on the group known as The Invisible Hand, who targets and buries them alive in a known abandoned chemical planet. When they capture the leader, one of the members, Reddingtot, talks to him about the whereabouts of a man known as The Toy Maker. The Toy Maker has helped with the man who killed Tom, let alone helped build that glass eye.

Meanwhile, Liz goes after a man Tom was hunting before he died, who turns out to be her grandfather. Butt she doesn't know that still, and he plays her pretty well.

But Red gets a tip about who the man that killed Tom is and might be part of an avastste group of federal or state cops. Pretty much on the money when it came to that when that detective breaks into Liz's apartment and calls his boss about that Liz isn't backing off the case. The man who happens to work for Ian Garvey is a U.S. Marshall.

"The Invisible Hand" is another well-written and best-directed episode. I couldn't get enough of the shots from the field that kept creepy at the time and unique simultaneously—I got to credit Andrew McCarty for directing the episode. Also, the episode kept me excited and left me shocked at the end to see that Ian is a U.S. Marshall. And not to mention the Liz and Red scene with Toy Maker and Liz threatening him not to call her sweetheart. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.
