Talk it Out!: Chicago Fire "The Solution to Everything

Will Severide open up before he gets himself killed? Casey and Namoi get a clue about their arson investigation, and the hunt is on for a photo from Boden's past. Here's a recap of the Chicago Fire.

Boy, this was sure a Chicago Fire episode to remember in one way or another. Severide, who's still grieving the loss of his father, gets in danger during a call when a chimney collapses. Casey and Otis got him in time, and Kidd isn't too happy about not helping because of Casey's orders. Severide opens up to Foster about not moving away in that fire, and that's when she opens up to him about how losing a family member messes with your mind. After that, Severide starts talking to her about his feelings, making Kidd jealous but happy.

Casey and Namoi get a clue about their arson investigation, not to mention a threatening voicemail asking them to stop investigating. Their investigation leads to a place in Indiana. They see something familiar there, and someone is watching them as they break in.

But the hunt for a photo from Boden's past really stood out in this episode. The hunt was for a calendar photo of Boden as Mr. September 1990. After looking around from the library to the Chicago Fire Museum, I realized I needed help. Even Herrmann goes to the last person that might know, Donna. She tells him she doesn't know where it would be, but she has one in her closet.

"The Solution to Everything" was another classic episode of Chicago Fire that balances out the drama, humor, and intense storytelling, mainly the Casey and Namoi investigation that could lead to something in the fall finale in two weeks. The episode had some excellent character development and writing, too. There was another moment with Casey and Brett; I think they could be a couple. It could be my mind playing with me. And Kelly and Foster talking was a good sign that he would be fine and talk with Kidd. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the fall finale of Chicago Fire on on Wednesday, December 5th,, at 9/8c on NBC.

Mind Think Different: Chicago Med "Playing By My Rules"

Will this be the end of #Manstead? Will Dr. Rhodes face the new rules for the hybrid OR? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago Med.

With Will facing pressure to stop treating Ray, instead of taking it out on them, he takes his anger against Natalie and their patients. He is trying to get Will to let his patient go so they can override the consent for his daughter to donate her organs, but he doesn't want to do it. But when Goodwin and the board decided to let the father go. Thinking that this could be the end of Manstead, as Will is up on the roof, Natalie joins him and asks if he wants the ring back. Instead of saying yes, he tells her he wants to marry her, and the two hug with emotion.

Rhodes gets word from Goodwin that the hybrid OR will be used for other surgeries. That news doesn't sit well with him, and it builds increasingly more of a battle with Lanik. After taking the OR back, Rhodes performs a dangerous operation that pisses Lanik, but in the end, the patient comes out okay. But when Goodwin heard of what happened with Rhodes, she told him that she was the one who authorized it, not Garrett. But she threatened him that if he ever did that again, she would fire him. That did turn Ava on and got her and Rhodes kissed in the prep room.

Maggie and April butted heads because of their way of managing the ED. With Maggie being Rhodes' top OR nurse, things have been relatively smooth without her when April takes over. After confronting, the two made up.

Ethan and Charles take on a case of the week when a veteran comes in with Vicki. The patient comes with a horrible head wound that's caused by itching. She tells Ethan that she can't stop itching, and it worsens.   But when Neurosurgeon sees her, he thinks that she needs surgery. But Charles doesn't think so and teaches Ethan how the mind can play horrible tricks on you. After leading the trick of playing with the mind, Ethan agrees that their patient doesn't need surgery and gets her to do a test. After looking in the mirror and scratching the other side of her head, her itching was about gone. Will it help in the long term? We'll have to wait and see.

"Playing By My Rules" was another fantastic episode. There were many intense and emotional moments in this episode, from Natalie and Will butting heads on their patients to Rhodes going rouge against Lanik again and Goodwin in his ED OR. The case of the week with Ethan and Charles was a strong story that kept the episode interesting as it went on. Here I was, thinking it was a bug. And there were moments of WOW! from Rhodes and Ava kissing to Natalie and Will staying together. But Ethan decides to ask Vicki out, with April viewing it too. Ouch! Drama, right?

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the fall finale of Chicago Med on Wednesday, December 5th, at 8/7c on NBC.

Grievance in Pain: Chicago Fire "What Will Define You"

Image result for chicago fire what will define you

As preparation for Benny's funeral is underway, the hunt is on for one of his most priceless medals. Here's a recap of the Chicago Fire.

As Severide and his mother pack up Benny's things, they try to find one of Benny's most priceless medals that he wants to have in his casket. Stella takes the challenge as she's trying to help him. Getting Casey, Mouch, Hermann, and Otis to help her, they meet with all of Benny's ex-girlfriends, which keeps the show light and humorful. They even meet with Katie's mother but with no luck either.
But when Katie visited. she brought joy to everyone at 51 when she brought the medal they were searching for. Even she and Otis catch up and are happy with who they are within their relationship department.

Severide has been trying to get his dad the proper send-off. With the CFD not signing for a parade on his behalf, Boden tries to get some of the guys who knew Benny to do something special. Severide, who's in pain, hides his emotions. After talking with his mother, things settled things down until the funeral. Severide gives his speech by telling a funny story to a heroic tale. There were times to laugh and hard not to get teary. But when walking the casket out of the church, a parade of firefighters lined up from the four corners of the street and gave one hell of a proper send-off that would make you grab the tissues.

"What Will Define You" was one of this season's most decisive episodes. They balanced the episode perfectly with humor and emotions. Even bringing Katie was a real treat. I couldn't believe how long it had been. With what was happening with Stella and Kelly, Brett had an excellent storyline in this episode, too, trying to figure out if she should report the driver using a cell phone in an accident. As much as I enjoyed that, too, it seemed to be an underachiever. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire on Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Intense: Chicago PD "Trigger"

With bombs threats hitting Chicago, the Intelligence Unit suspects a religious group but a twist even shocks Halstead.

As there are bomb threats going on in Chicago, the Intelligence Unit has Atwater undercover at a religious group. They're trying to get the leader of the group, suspecting that he's the one ordering the bombs. But after a bomb goes off, the intelligence meets with an old friend from Homeland security which ruins Voight's undercover when the Feds take Atwater, thinking that he works with them and torcher him for information.

Halstead takes this case very personal from a point that he served in the army too. After meeting with someone who helped after the bombing; turns out to be the one that set off the bombing. Halstead finally comes around when their suspect is caught on tape buying supplies to make a bomb. Holding the moss hostage with a bomb strapped to his body, Halstead goes in along and reasons with him but takes him down with a shot to the head.

"Trigger" was a really intense and thrilling episode. The story had a really strong character development for Halstead and not to mention another bonding partnership with Hailey too. Jesse Lee Soffer gives another strong performance. There were many moments in this episode from Halstead and Hailey to Voight and the Feds, but the moment between Atwater and the Fed agent torching him and Voight comes into a screaming match with one another. And not to mention Atwater telling that agent that this isn't over that they'll duke it out later.

 Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago PD Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Lockdown: Chicago Med "The Poison Inside Us"

As the ED goes on Emergency lockdown, will chaos rule? Here's a recap of Chicago Med.

After saying goodbye to Emily and Bernie, Ethan deals with a patient who requested that he see him. But it turns out that he wasn't a patient but a widower of a patient who died under Ethan's care. Demanding answers from Ethan or will release a canister of an unknown substance. As Ethan tells him what happened with his wife, it just isn't enough, and he opens the canister, but as Ethan dives on him, it is too late.

The ED goes on an emergency bypass lockdown. Not only have patients moved to the ambulance bay, but Conner and Ava deal with a patient in the ED OR; Natalie and Charlies have to perform an emergency c-section on a bipolar patient. Will is feeling the pressure from the FBI, and Jay and April spring to the moment to save Ethan.

With the lockdown, Conner decides to keep his patient in his ED OR with Ava. When the patient's spleen wasn't healing independently, Conner decided to perform surgery.  But with no blood to transfuse, Ava gives her own to the patient to help Conner take the spleen out. Just as Ava is about to faint, he takes the spleen out and pulls the transfuser out of Ava.

As Natalie and Dr. Charles treat a bipolar and pregnant patient and take her up to OB, they get stuck on the rehab floor that wasn't done remodeling. With the lockdown and no signal to make a call, Charles advises Natalie to perform a C-Section. But Natalie gets worried and tells Charlie they need to find someone or get to someone fast. That's when he pulls the old "I'm on the phone" trick on her and as she performs the C-Section. There were some difficulties, but both mother and baby were fine.

After getting everyone out of the ED, Ethan becomes a victim of the toxic substance as he collapses. With both the suspect and Ethan experiencing the same symptoms, they only had one medicine that could help with their breathing. With the suspect getting treatment over Ethan, April returns to the ED for the same treatment. But when the suspect dies, April thinks that Ethan could be next til Fire and PD learn what the substance is: cyanide.

Will gets pressure from the Feds when he gets Ray to come to Med to get an MRI to rule out a stroke. Even Jay doesn't give any comfort advice. After the lockdown was over and Ray and his kids walked out, Will's abdominal pain worsened, and throwing up blood became an ulcer. Natalie treats him and asks what's happening, but he won't admit it.

As Ava recovers, she admits to Conner that she was the one who got his father to be the donor. But she acknowledged that she hadn't lost him, and soon after, they finally kissed. As Ethan will make a full recovery, April makes her way to see him until she sees him with his ex-girlfriend, Vicki, who happens to still be on his emergency contact list.

"The Poison Inside Us" was like a mini-crossover episode with many intense moments. The writing of this episode was strong and had solid character development. I'm finally happy for Ava and Conner for finally kissing. I don't think Ethan and Vicki are back together after this moment, but I'm worried about Natalie and Will; if Will doesn't tell her what's happening, it will bite him in the butt. And I don't want #Manstead to end. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

Life Decisions: Chicago Med "What You Don't Know"

Will things get better for those who know the truth? Here's a recap of this week's Chicago Med.

Things get dicey for Will when the FBI gets him to put a listening device in Ray's house. After returning to the hospital, Natalie can see something is up with him.  She sees Will leave the hospital, where he talked to Ray.  Ray tells Will that he hasn't been truthful about how he's feeling, and Will calms him down, as it's him who needs to calm down.  Later, Natalie confronts him about what's worrying him. He lies to her about how worried he is with the reception hall.

Conner tries to get Ava and everyone in the hospital to sign a petition for his ED OR to have a bypass machine and to get the name of the donor that made his OR happen. Ava, worried about him telling the truth, says he shouldn't need more as he should look at what's in front of him. He does, and I think that may open things up for them.

Ava, on the other hand, worked with Dr. Charles when a patient that they thought was trying to commit suicide had Huntington's disease. He wants no heroic measures to save him, but his son wants him to live. The father was hiding his illness from his son and tried to keep it a secret from him, but he could have the disease, too. So both Ava and Charles told the son after his father died, he could request an autopsy and learn from there.

After that, Ava tries to tell Conner about who the donor is, but he tells her that he doesn't need to know. He tells her that his eyes are wide open not only to the ED OR but also to them.

Natalie battles with a mother who wants her daughter to have a rape kit done. Natalie tries to explain to the mother that she can't do a rape kit without her daughter's consent. But the mother tells Natalie her own story about when she got raped, which she finally told her daughter, which later decided to have a rape kit done.

Ethan and Apil probably had one hell of an episode after seeing Emily's sonogram with Bernie.   With everything going smoothly, they get a visit from Bernie, who had a slip and needs surgery. But the shocker comes when they see Bernie's wife and daughter.

Ethan brings Emily back to the ED, and she sees him. But it doesn't go well when Bernie's wife meets Emily and soon runs off. Ethan hopes that Emily will leave Bernie, but she does not and will stick with him. Oh boy!

"What You Don't Know" was a unique and at times intense episode. There were a lot of moments that stood out from this episode. But my top three were Will's undercover and confronted moments, Natalie's helping a mother's secret, and Ava and Charles dealing with Huntington's disease.  It had some strong character development, mainly for Ava, which I enjoyed. I think this was Norma Kuhling's best performance as Dr. Bekker. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
