Thoughts:

Med: I'm looking forward to this week's episode. With the promo for this week's episode, I really want to see what will happen after Scott argues with Archer about the E.R. not having enough beds. Also, I look forward to seeing how Scott and Charles will work together and Hammer working with Halstead, as we learned they have a bit of a history in medical school.

And I think that we'll see more Maggie and Vanessa time after that moment in last week's episode. I hope we get to see where Halstead is with that doctor that Goodwin wants to spy on.

Fire: I do look forward to this week's episode as well. I can't wait to see how Casey does with that viral video. Mouch brings a mini library to 51; they must be one of those "take a book, leave a book" programs. I wonder if that's how his and Brett's novel will come back?

And it looks like with Herrmann in trouble, Ritter could be the one to help him out of this situation. I wonder if Boden will be moving to his new office this week's episode or maybe in the 200th episode.

P.D.: I won't disagree that Burgess might have to work in emergency dispatch for a while. She needs to take it easy for a time, and with the aftermath of what she went through that, she's gonna need help dealing with the trauma, even if Burgess says she's okay.

I wonder if Halstead and Upton will announce their engagement to the squad. That would be something. Also, does anyone believe that Burgess took Upton's answer about not finding Roy? Do you think that she doesn't believe her?

An Intense Night of Drama: One Chicago: Chicago Med "You Can't Always Trust What You See"/Chicago Fire "Mayday"/Chicago PD "Closure" Season Premiere

The season premiere of One Chicago was this one-time week, and I'm still recovering from what went down. Here's a recap and thoughts!

Chicago Med "You Can't Always Trust What You See."

While the season premiere of Chicago Med wasn't at the level of what Fire and PD had, it still had me engaged for the entire hour.

Halstead returns to Med, but under the circumstances from Goodwin, he keeps an eye on a colleague, who she believes is scamming Medicare while putting his patients at risk. But the one thing I was happy to see have a nice closure was Will and Natalie as they said goodbye at the beginning of the episode. That started the waterworks for me.

Archer and Charles work together, putting their differences aside (at times), to help save a patient who happens to have a twin. But the catch is if the patient needs surgery, the twin also wants to have the same surgery as they want to do everything together. I think they would give a run with The Shining Twins.

We meet with the new residents, Dr. Scott and Hammer, who we see helping treat a girl with sickle cell anemia while her mother shows signs of arthritis. Hammer realizes that with arthritis at this early stage in her life, they must be living in the car.  Later, we see Hammer visiting her mother, who is homeless, helping her with what she needs.

While giving Vanessa space, Maggie tries to stay away but be professional with her daughter. At one point, a nurse needed a doctor to call the time of death of a patient. After calling it, Maggie confronts her. Also, while Crockett and Halstead might not have seen eye to eye in this episode with a difference of opinion on a returned patient who was part of Kinder, they come to reasonable terms at the end of the episode.

I enjoyed the season premiere. I see how others might not have thought it was at the level we're used to. The episode had to balance out the end of one story (Natalie) and the start of a new one (Scott and Hammer) and still have that Med medical feel we're used to. This is what I would call a peaceful premiere.

I loved the Hammer and Scott story in this episode, as Scott seems to be a fun but responsible character when treating his patients. At first, I thought, oh, a cop turned doctor. Didn't we see this with Jeff Clarke when he transferred from Fire to Med? But this seems different.

Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Chicago Fire "Mayday"

Think again if you thought I was on the edge of my seat when Fire started its 10th season premiere! I was on my feet, walking back and forth with nerves and screaming at the television.

The episode picks up right where we left off; Squad 3 is trapped in a capsized boat, and Casey makes a good to help bring oxygen tanks. But just as he gets there, Severide sets up to blow up part of the boat to escape. But after it blows up, Cruz is not moving, and Severide tries with all his might to get him to the surface. Casey gives CPR and comes through.

Cruz will be already, but when he gets back to work, he's starting to get PTSD when handling his gear. Also, the stress of postponing the baby shower for Chloe didn't help either, but when it comes to 51, they have their back no matter what.

Stella, who was so worried about Severide making it out alive, later confronts him about telling his mother about their engagement, only to get a response that Severide men don't stay married for that long. Ouch!  But she reassured him that things would be better than what his father was.

Meanwhile, Boden gets word that he'll be the new deputy chief commissioner, but while everyone is thrilled about his recent promotion, Stella isn't, as she is afraid to see changes to 51. Boden tried to see if his office could be at 51, but that wasn't the case due to politics. But after a call, he sees that his firehouse can handle things without him.

Meanwhile, the story we've been waiting for, Brett and Casey, while they try to keep their relationship under wraps, everyone knows they're a couple, even before they know. We had gotten many good Brettsey scenes in this episode that I would assume kept the fans happy.

But during a call, Brett gets a non-emergency call that she and other medics believe is taking them away from the actual emergency calls, and that starts Brett to maybe thinking of something. While on call, Casey bravely saves a kid swinging from one building to another like he was Spiderman or Batman, which was fantastic industry for Brett.

And let's not forget Firehouse 51's Three's Company duo, Ritter, Violet, and Gallo, who are trying to come up with an idea to make some extra money. Gallo and Violet didn't make it easy for Ritter, as watching them argue about each one's vision wasn't helping. But soon, just as they were about to work it out, the idea of Gallo's beer (that he made) might be the ticket.

"Mayday" was electrifying but had all the feelings we wanted in a Chicago Fire premiere. While changes are coming to 51, it's hard to see Boden moving out of 51. Who's going to take his spot? Casey? Do you think Casey is ready to give speeches to his crew? We had seen it a while ago, and it didn't turn out well.

I read many stories from Stella-Severide, Chloe-Cruz, Brett-Casey, and Ritter-Gallo-Violet. I can't wait to see what will happen with these characters this season. I wonder if Cruz will continue to suffer from PTSD from the boating rescue.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Chicago PD "Closure"

If Fire had an "On My Feet" premiere intensity, PD was another.

"Closure" was such an intense going in with the awaiting on if Burgess would come out or not. Ruzek battles whether or not to bring Makayla to visit the unconscious Burgess, but rest assured, fans, Burgess will be okay.

Meanwhile, Upton and Voight try to hide the fact that they killed Roy while hunting down Roy's partner, who both have evidence of them killing Roy. It's eating up Upton pretty poorly; Roy's partner, holding a hostage, gets shot in the neck and dies at Med.

Voight tells Miller, who doesn't know that Roy is dead, to get the Feds to help find him. Good luck! Meanwhile, after Upton asks Jay to marry him, Jay returns the favor after asking why she wants to marry him now and soon proposes to her (as he's an old fashion) with the answer "yes."

I enjoyed this episode very much from beginning to end. While we know that Burgess will have a tough time returning to work, something tells me she won't let this one go either, like Miller. Could this come back and bite both Upton and Voight by midseason? I just got that feeling!

I thought Ruzek's storyline was so good and well-performed, along with Upton as well. Looks like we're going to get a CPD wedding! I hope it doesn't turn out to be like Will's wedding.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Chicago Med Up Steven Weber to series regular; Adds Two to Cast

Looks like Dr. Dean Archer will be staying at Chicago Med for a while.

Deadline is reporting that Chicago Med has added Weber to series regular as the series enters its seventh season this fall.

Also,  there will be two new doctors coming to Med as Guy Lockard and Kristen Hager have landed to series regular. The new cast additions come after the casting departures of Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto.

Lockard will portray Dr. Dylan Scott, who left a career as a Chicago police officer to become a doctor. Whether the doctor has any connections to characters in Chicago PD is as yet unknown.

Hager will play Dr. Stevie Hammer, a brilliant and scrappy emergency room attending physician.

After what the season six finale brought, I didn't think that Archer would be back but never say never. Weber did do a great job this past season and I look forward to seeing what his character will do in season seven. Meanwhile, I always look forward to new casting additions and the additions of Lockard and Hager sound interesting.

What do you think of the casting news? Excited? Leave a comment!

Chicago Med returns on September 22 on NBC.

Still the Best Drama: The Blacklist Season 6-7 Review

The Blacklist episode 13, season 7 Every details you need to know ...

Season 6

After the shocking moment in the fifth season finale, the sixth season took off with exciting thrills and drama that pushed the level of Liz and Red's relationship. As Liz knows that her father, Raymond Reddington is dead and someone is impersonating Reddington, she betrayed him by setting him up to get arrested.

Throughout the season, as Reddington's trial goes underway, Liz has a change of heart with Reddington as she learns the truth about what really had happened between him and her mother. Soon as Red is free, both Red and the task force are put against the United States of America President and his staff, the way that Red and the team helped get Liz out of custody against the Director back in season three.

The season ended well enough to have a cliffhanger of Reddington meeting with Liz's mother, who kidnaps Reddington at the end.

Season Six was one of the best seasons so far in the series. The season elevated to another level with brilliant wiring, character development, and performances from the cast. While Season three and five were the top two best seasons of the series, this one ranks right along with them. Overall, I give this season a 9.5/10.

Season 7

The Seventh Season of The Blacklist was as good as it could have gotten. The season saw Liz learning of her mother, who happened to be staying across the hall from her. Liz is divided between Red and her mother on who is telling the truth. Still, with Red not telling what she needs to know, she leans more towards her mother by the end of the season as she finally embraces the evil power that she's been feeling this season during the season finale.

This season we saw Ressler's backstory dealing with his brother, who helped him get rid of a dead body of a cop that had killed their dad twenty years ago. And the team takes on a new team member, Aliana Park, who has a history with Reddington and is not the good one.

The seventh season of The Blacklist has proven that it's not running out of gas. The show still brings the best out of these characters. Week to week, episode after episode, the series still shows it's got teeth, and there are times when shows do show that they're running out of gas. Brilliant writing and character development, along with another season of great performances from the cast, mostly Megan Boone, who's given such a strong performance this season. Al Roker deserves an Emmy nomination for his guest-starring role this season in the 150th episode. Overall, I give this season of The Blacklist a 9.5/10.

You can catch The Blacklist available now on the NBC app. NBC.com and Netflix.

Growing and Laughing: Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7

Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7's teaser out; Trailer to release on ...

The seventh season of the NBC comedy literally delivers the goods, laughs, and moments that make you grabbing tissues.

The seventh season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine had really turned up not only the humor but the character development with these stories. We see Amy and Jake push their plans to have a baby, and while they try, they have some issues conceiving. Watching these two dealing with that was just brilliantly well done. But they ended up pregnant and having a baby boy in the season finale, which fits perfectly well for these two.

Meanwhile, Holt deals with his demotion from Captain to patrol officer and has a partner named Debbie (played by Vanessa Bayer), brilliant this season. And while we see Holt dealing with Madeline Wuntch's punishment, he does get his Captain position back after the death of Madeline. Rosa deals with her breakup from her girlfriend, yet her relationship with Amy grows so well this season. But it was the annual Halloween heist that happened to take three different times; it ended up her winning all three, making her the first three-time winner.

This season brought back many familiar faces from Adrian Pimento, who believed that he was being killed but forgot his memory. Doug Judy returns and has a bachelor party with Jake but has to pull a reverse heist before getting caught. Teddy returns as both he, Amy, and Rosa compete for the best stroller, but Rosa loses, but their friendship grows. J.K. Simmons comes to B99 and blows away in "Dillman," who's one of the best detectives that Holt worked with back in the day. Simmons needs to have a cop comedy series right now.

This season had a lot to give and take in as well. The writing was brilliant, and the performances were amazing as well. Melissa Fumero gave such a great performance in the episode "Trying." Vanessa Bayer was so good this season as Debbie, a patrol officer who didn't want to get into danger; but later stole drugs from the lockup for a well-known drug dealer. I felt so bad for her character. And as much as I loved the Halloween heist episodes, The Jimmy Jab Games II might have topped this season as it was just hilarious balls to the wall. Overall, I give this season a 9/10.

You can catch Brooklyn Nine-Nine available on NBC.com and other streaming platforms.

Relationships: Chicago PD "Buried Secret"

Chicago PD season 7, episode 19 takeaways: Buried Secrets

When Ruzek witnesses a kidnapping late at night, while the team searches for the victim secrets will be revealed. Here's a recap!

After calling it a night, the team heads home but Ruzek heads to a bar to what seems to try to take his troubles away. But when he's about to have a night with a woman; he witnesses someone getting kidnapped and tries to pursue until he crashes, while he's under the influences.

As the Intelligence identifies the victim, Voight and Ruzek visit the victim's parent's home to talk with the family; but apparently, the father had already known about it since the kidnappers had called for a ransom. But things take a twist when Voight and team learned that there something about the victim's father.

It turns out that the kidnapped victim's father had killed the kidnapper's son; because of a special relationship that he didn't want to be out in the world. Ruzek talks with the kidnapper but dies after Halstead took a shot. The victim's father on the only hand was charged and taken away.

In the end, Ruzek opens up to Burgess, who's been trying for the last few weeks, and go out to dinner.
"Buried Secret" was a very good episode and one that I very much enjoyed Adam Ruzek's character perspective. Mainly when he's drunk and about to have a night of fun; but goes full police mode even when he's drunk. It's fun and hilarious but all in all heart. That story in this episode was one that had me going with the twist and turns. I think all in all we can all agree that the ending with Burgess and Ruzek left us on a very good note. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD season finale Wednesday, April 15th at 10/9c on NBC.

Past Friends: Chicago PD "Lines"

Chicago PD season 7, episode 18 photos: Chicago PD Lines

When the Intelligence Unit tries to do everything it can to build a case against the administrator of a drug ring, things get dicey for Rojas as one of the sellers happens to be a longtime friend when Rojas sees footage of her friend selling.  Soon, after deleting the footage, Rojas tells Upton about it after learning that the evidence would still be used.

But Voight learns quickly and tells Rojas that when the drug deal goes down, her friend will be arrested, too. After capturing him, Rojas tries to get him to help but won't. The ASA tells Voight and Upton they don't have a strong case. That leads to Upton getting Rojas's friend to help with the boss' car. That led to Upton witnessing the drug ring leader arrested for having the position of drugs in the back of the car. She meets Voight and talks about how the ASA has enough to take the guy away and give Roja's friend a deal.

But it doesn't end there as Voight tells Upton that what she did was wrong and that she has been crossing many lines that she can't keep straight. Of course, Upton tells him she's OK, so Voight tells her that the New York FBI task force needs help with a case for a couple of weeks, and he decides to send her. While she didn't like it, things got heated after she told him that she did what he would have done, and that's not what he wanted her to do. Soon, Hailey Upton is heading to New York City.

"Lines" was such a better episode than the previous one. I thought this would be about Rojas's episode, but twist and make it an Upton episode. The scenes of Voight talking to Rojas were excellent and meaningful to the character. Also, that scene at the end of Voight and Upton was perfect; it left me in shock. And yes, Upton will be on the CBS series FBI, which is part of the Dick Wolf universe. That should be good! Overall, I give this episode an 8,5/10.

You can catch the season finale of FBI tonight at 9/8c on CBS with special guest Tracy Spiridakos as Detective Hailey Upton.  And Chicago PD returns Wednesday, April 8th at 10/9c on NBC.

Personal Struggles: Chicago PD "Intimate Violence"/"Before the Fall"

Chicago P.D." Intimate Violence (TV Episode 2020) - IMDb

"Intimate Violence"

When an armed robbery goes homicide, the Intelligence Unit relies on the witness, who happens to be the wife of one of the armed robbers. Jay and Hailey work together to get the suspect's wife to bust their next heist, but it turns into a bust when Jay overhears her getting beaten by her husband. While the suspect is arrested, they try to get him to turn over his team, but he won't.

Hailey learns that their suspect was let go and calls Jay to find the suspect's wife beaten once again. Jay not only kicked that guy's butt and took the wife out of the house and got her and her child a flight to Pheinox, Az. Jay learns from Hailey that what he did was very good and tells him how she dealt with the abusive father hitting her mother over the years.

"Intimate Violence" was an excellent and one of the best Halstead-Upton episodes. Both characters had some good to solid character developments, mainly Hailey Upton. The writing was good as well. Soffer and Spiridakos work so well together, and their chemistry
is so good. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Chicago PD season 7, episode 17 synopsis and promo: Before the Fall

"Before the Fall"

"Before the Fall" was a good episode; sometimes, it felt boring in the middle of the episode. The episode depicts Voight getting the help of a reformed gang member to help get a confession from a suspect that killed his boss and an innocent little girl. But homicide gets on it, and as they get close to a confession, all hell breaks loose, and Voight's friend and reformed gang member gets seriously hurt. But that homicide detective gets a goodbye gift he'll never forget.

While this episode had some moments that were slow and boring at times, I understood it as it dealt with old blood vs new blood. In the way, it's almost like Godfather 3, with Voight's friend helping and trying to act like the boys in the drug business. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

You can catch Chicago PD on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Personal Search: Chicago Fire/Chicago PD "Off The Grid"/"Burden of Truth"

Watch Chicago Fire Season 8, Episode 15 live: Chicago PD crossover

It's another One Chicago Crossover with Fire and PD coming together to help find a missing person from an old friend. Here's a recap!

After multiple calls of students overdosing on a new drug, Roman returns to Chicago to search for her missing little sister, one of those students dealing with the nedrugug. Roman and Severide team up to search for leads. But just when they learn of the suspect, Severide checks with the Intelligence Unit, who's been doing their investigation but knows that Roman is in the city.

After 51 gets a call of a basement fire, where Roman happens to be to get information, Roman meets with Voight, Burgess, and Ruzek and teams up to search for the suspect. Roman and Burgess do some catching up while searching for his sister but locate her dead outside a shack. As Roman deals with his upset parents and plans the funeral, Burgess realizes that Roman has killed the suspect and planted false clues to Voight and the team.

Just as everyone heads to the funeral, the Intelligence Unit and Firehouse 51, among others, are there, and as Burgess listens, she understands what he said in his eulogy to Voight. Voight tells Roman that they couldn't find the killer and will keep in contact with him for any updates, knowing what happened.

Other things: Casey helps Brett drive her to meet her birth mother but comes up empty when someone tells her that no one lived there by that name. She did and came to visit Brett at 51, apologizing and saying that she was expecting a baby. Also, Burgess wants Ruzek to let out their anger and blame her for losing their child, which he doesn't.

"Off the Grid"/"Burden of Truth" was an excellent crossover episode for Fire and PD, better than the previous one last season, which felt a bit flat. This crossover had a lot of meat to the bone, with solid character development from Roman and Burgess's strong writing in the story. Also, I couldn't get enough of Brett and Casey, but I loved it when Brett met her birthmother at Firehouse 51, which had emotions. Overall, I give these episodes 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Fire and Chicago PD on Wednesdays at 9/8c and 10/9c on NBC.

The Hunt is On: Brooklyn Nine-Nine "Manhunter"/"Captain Kim" Season Premiee

Image result for brooklyn 99 manhunter

"Manhunter"

In the season premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, both Jake and Holt have a difficult time adjusting to the new ways. After being called to investigate an assassination attempt, Jake tries to hunt down the suspect but Officer Holt tries to help out more and more and ruining Jake's time to shine, even stealing a few lines from Jake too. As Jake gets Holt and his partner to look around on another street, Jake and Charles get the Weiner Squad, Scully and Hitchcock, to help locate hot dog stands, due to the suspect was selling hot dogs. When they learn that one corner street doesn't sell hot dogs they knew that's where the suspect was and Holt and his partner found that out literally.

Meanwhile, Rosa helps Amy with the issue that she might be pregnant and while trying to take a pregnancy test; Amy couldn't pee. That is until Terry, who's been a bit jumping on judgment, helps Amy after pissing her off which made her pee. But by the time she had to go they all had to go stop the suspect, which was hold both Holt and his partner up as hostage. Long story short...Amy knocks the suspect out and goes to the bathroom. Later she tells Jake about she thought she was pregnant and tells him that she's not but the idea of having a baby is a go show.

"Manhunter" was a hilarious season opener with all too many good things. From the Jake and Holt dynamic to Amy/Rosa/Terry scenes were just too funny. The Jake and Amy story plot was really good and opens a possible baby down the road, maybe next season. Vanessa Bayer's performance was amazing. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Captain Kim"

There's a new Captain at the 99, will the gang be accepting?

When the new captain comes to the 99, Jack and the others have differences of opinions of what kind of person they might be. Turns out that she, Captain Kim, is nice. But both Jake and Holt don't believe a thing that she says and at a dinner party tries to find dirt that she's has a connection to Madeline but turns out that she join help fill in Holt's seat till he gets back. After that, she left the 99 and Terry becomes the Sub-Captain.

"Captain Kim" was such a fun episode especially with Jake and Holt trying to figure out about Kim and Amy trying to stop them like the hall monitor. And even Charles acting up unlike himself was just hilarious as he wears Rosa's jacket. The episode was witty and fun. While it might be the greatest episode of all time, this is sure an episode that will be great rewatching. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch Brooklyn Nine-Nine Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
