Parenthood: Chicago PD "Unforgiven"/"In Your Care"

"Unforgiven"

When the Intelligence Unit gets a case of a murdered Chicago police officer, the team tries to figure out whether he was killed as a dirty cop or a cop doing a good item. Upton and Halstead learn one of the suspects held a grudge against the cop, which later indicates that the cop was helping a domestic abuse victim and that the victim's ex-boyfriend was the suspect.

Meanwhile, Voight tries to get the Dupety Superintendent on board with the investigation while also trying his best to get the cop's family his pension. And while Upton and Halstead's relationship grows, she gets news of her father's health and tries to visit him at Med.

I enjoyed this episode; it's probably one of my rewatchable favorites with the extreme case of the week and whether or not this cop was good or bad. I admit I ate whatever from the Upton and Halstead scenes while enjoying Upton's battle to see her father. I think at the end (spoiler alert: she did see him), she'll regret not seeing him. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"In Your Care"

When the Intelligence Unit gets a case of a rash of carjackings and learns that the offenders happen to be teenagers who are part of a teen prostitution ring that is about to be aged out from the fostering system. While only capturing one of the teenagers, the rest would flee to where they were planning to go, Georiga.

Meanwhile, whether or not they are back in a relationship, Burgess and Ruzek seem to be in a good place. That is until during this case when Burgess reunites with Mykala at the foster building and learns that her foster mom is having difficulty taking care of her. Soon, the foster mom gives back Mykala, and Burgress jumps to taking care of her, which puts her relationship with Ruzek on hold (I assume as he had a different opinion on the idea).

"In Your Care" was an excellent episode, and while I thought the case of the week was good, it had its moments. This episode was one of Burgess's best, with her deciding whether or not to take Mykala in her care while taking on this case.

Marian Squerciati gives another good performance, along with Patrick Flueger and even LaRoyce Hawkins. Their character gave Burgess some excellent and heartwarming advice on whether or not to take care of Mykala.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

One Chicago Chicago Med "In Search of Forgiveness, Not Permission"/Chicago Fire "Funny What Things Remind Us"/Chicago PD "Unforgiven" Episode Preview

Here's a preview of Episode four of Chicago Med, Fire and PD.

Chicago Med "In Search of Forgiveness, No Permission"

Dr. Marcel and Dr. Manning lay everything on the line to assist a sick woman. Dr. Halstead faces an uphill battle in getting participants involved in his clinical trial. Dr. Choi clashes with a patient who demands absolute perfection of himself.

Chicago Fire "Funny What Things Remind Us"

While completing a task assigned by headquarters, Boden makes an unforeseen connection. Gallo is forced to make a surprise rescue of one of their own when the firehouse is called to the site of a construction explosion. And Mouch reignites an old feud.

A cop is murdered, and suspicion falls on someone who has been holding a grudge against the officer. Intelligence works hard to solve the case but Deputy Superintendent Miller is hesitant to defend him until she knows the whole story.

Looks like episode four of these shows looks too good not to miss out. From Halstead's clinical trial storyline to Gallo could be getting his big rescue soon. And Mouch in a feud with someone once again. Oh boy! And PD looks to be another intense episode. I just wonder if the suspect happens to be part of the Intelligence unit?

Chicago Med, Fire, and PD will return on January 6th at 8/7c with these episodes scheduled set for Jan. 13 on NBC.

Facing Life Challenges: This Is Us "Honestly" Fall Finale

The fall finale of This Is Us gave us laughs, a kickass dance move, not to mention being tough, and a past secret revealed. Here's a recap!

I thought this episode was really good. From seeing Kevin learning both young and in real-time learning to toughen up and find a way his way to learn and be the person that he wants to be from the quarterback for the school to give his new director what he wants out of him.

Then we have Randall and Malik. Malik was overshadowing Randall at his work to learn what a city councilman does for his district. While Malik was a bit late, tired, and even forgot to end Randall's live stream (more on that later).

We learn the reason why because he was trying to get things to plan not only for him but for his kid. While Randall completely understood where Malik is coming from, he learns of Malik's dream to be the first chef in Philly to get three Michelin stars.

As for the failure to end the live steam of Randall's daily video; that was pretty much the funniest moment in the episode. I think that we should name that dance move (if it even is a dance move) after Randall. I think I'll be doing that while making Thanksgiving (except for not having clothes on because I don't do that).

But the video could be the best thing for Randall to say; because this could be the thing to reunite with his birth mother as we see her husband watching the viral video.

I thought that Rebecca and Jack's story of dealing with Kevin and getting him to sleep was a good story. And we see the difference of styles of Jack and Rebecca's parenting style but knowing that each other does have the same quality as we see Jack about to go into Kevin's room until he stopped crying.

Pretty much the shocking moment of the episode was Kate and after seeing baby Chloe (which will probably be renamed due to the mother has hated that name for a long time). Kate learned that she almost had an abortion but stopped and decided to give her child up.

Well, that brought something painful to Kate and after talking to Kevin, she tells Toby the one thing that no one knew about. After her break up (or escape) from her abusive boyfriend, as Rebecca and family were to see Kevin in New York, Kate stayed home and learned that she was pregnant.  And from the promo for the next episode (Jan. 5th) this story is not done yet.

Could this be the start of Kevin going for his Oscar? I think so. It's been mention in the episode that he wants to take Rebecca to see the biggest award show of all. After this episode, I just want to see where Kate's backstory goes and I don't think it will go well.

This was a very good episode to close out the fall season (in a way). I know four episodes aren't enough to start but at least we got four episodes. The writing was as good once again with another good performance was the cast. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
