All Alone: Blindspot "Hella Duplicitous" Season Premiere

Blindspot is back with some exciting new adventures this season!!

We jumped three months after the season three finale; Jane, Reade, Patterson, and the  Dot Com traveled to Tokyo to find a missing decryption key. They plan to meet Akiko, who has it in a safe, but it goes sideways when she picks off Dot Com, and the battle begins. With Jane's excellent samurai skills to fight and Patterson's drinking skills to unlock the safe and get the key, they all escape with no one hurt.

But when they get home, they still have to worry about getting the four other keys and figuring out who's running Hank Crawford Global. Also, Patterson learns that Jane's zip poisoning has progressed further than expected and will kill her. When Jane, or Remi, knows about this, she runs out to get some air but also sees her dead brother talking to her. But there is a cure; is it worth it, though?

Remi finally meets Dolan, the last person working for her, Roman, and their mother. She comes up with a plan to get money to allow the FBI to unlock a tattoo. When they head over there, Remi finds the vault, takes what she can, and calls on Roman and the team to take the rest.

Meanwhile, Zapata is with Blake Crawford, trying to get her focus on taking over her father's company. But when things go so well, it doesn't, and everyone on the board, including Blake, gets poisoned by Madeline Burke. She talks to Zapata, and after getting her ideas of what to do with the dead bodies, she keeps her on her team.

Later on, Remi, who thought everything was going so well, doesn't as they go after Dolan. Reade and Remi are on the chase. Remi pushes Roman off the street, but he gets to him just in time to crash Dolan's car and kill him. Remi still plans to take out Weller and the FBI.

"Hella Duplicitous" was a fantastic season opener! The action-packed scenes were mind-blowing, from the sword fights to the car chases. I couldn't leave out Patterson and Dot Com moments that were so funny and made the episode lighter. The moments of Weller and Jane/Remi were mainly chilling now that Remi is back in the world.  And with Zapata,  I think she's gone under to help them take down HC Global.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Blindspot Fridays at 8/7c on NBC.

FYI: I want to tell all the Blindspotters that I highly recommend watching the show live, rewatching it on DVR, getting people talking about it on social media, and more.  We were so lucky that the show got picked up for a fourth season, but with the numbers after the premiere, we should all do what we can to save the show and bring it to a fifth season. And when The Blacklist comes (in January), please do the same thing.

Partnerships and Surprises: Blindspot "Upside Down Craft"/"Gunplay Ricochet"

"Upside Down Craft"

After last week's episode, this one was really one to laugh over.

When Jane and Weller arrest a financial tycoon, his lawyer says that his client was framed by an anonymous hacking group known as the Three Blind Mice. When we learn that Patterson and Rich Dotcom were the former members of the group, but there's a third member out there, Kathy, who has been causing the hacks.

When the FBI questions Kathy, Patterson works her magic and uses a backdoor in the app that she created to help prove Loewe is guilty or corporate sabotage. But soon Kathy realizes that Patterson and Rich were the other Mice and kidnaps them and tries to force them to perform criminal hacks. But Patterson manages to get a signal to Weller's team to rescue them.

Even thought Reade has suspicion that Patterson and Rich were the other members of the Mice, he didn't go forward in pursing them due to lack of evidence and suggest that Jane's new tattoos were to intended to reveal secrets the teams needs to keep hidden.

Later, Patterson continues to investigate the tattoo that Stuart was working on and found out that it was a linked to Van Gogh.

"Upside Down Craft" might be one of my favorite Patterson-Doctom episodes with their rich and comedic chemistry of characters. The episode holds up to be very good in storytelling and not to mention keep you engage to their story. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

"Gunplay Ricochet"

"Gunplay Ricochet" was another good hour of television that had not just one but a few very shocking reveals about Jane when they meet a man that they're going after and the most shocking news of all: Jane has a child. And questions begins to ask about how loyal can Reade be when Zapata sees  him with Secretary of State.

Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

Rusty by Effective: Blindspot "Enemy Bag of Tricks"

Even with the old team back to work, things are a bit rusty.

"Enemy Bag of Tricks" is a really good episode and one that sets our characters up really well as the team gets a bit rusty with communication and mostly Weller thinking that he's still in command, but it's Reade's team.

When Reade and the team have to locate a black box that has the ability to disable a missile defense system is stolen from a crashed satellite. With the defenses down for the US, that could lead to a threat of a nuclear strike by North Korea.

But when Jane learns that one of the men that are working to get the black box happens to be something that she had worked with a while ago when she was on the run. That might cause some friction.

Meanwhile, Roman works his way and befriends a wealthy former solider, who he happens to kill and steal his identity. And it couldn't get any worst for Zapata if she was trying to get close to Reade again as she meets his girlfriend. But the chilling cliffhanger leaves us with Patterson finding her colleague Stuart (who I think was really good and both showed great chemistry) was found murdered in his apartment.

This was a really good episode that had the balance of humor and intense drama that had me interested from the beginning to the shocking moment at the end. I thought the cast played so well with each other as they go through some rusty moments with Weller taking command over Reade, even though he's the leader and learning about what Jane did while on the run was good too. The writing was so good in this episode. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.
