Explaining and Sharing: Single Parents "Look, This is Obviously a Sexy Situation"/"A Night of Delicate Frenching"

Single Parents Review: Look, This is Obviously a Sexy Situation ...

"Look, This Is a Sexy Situation"

With the group knowing that Poppy and Doug broke up, Will, Angie, and Miggy try to be there for them but also try to fix it.

Angie has Poppy over at her house to talk about her feelings and learns that she didn't tell Doug about why they broke up. Angie tells her that she should tell him that Derek is there to take Graham, and Poppy sees the two hitting it off as if they're in a relationship. After an argument, both Angie and Poppy apologize, and both agree to face on with what they were afraid to do: Poppy tells Doug that she wants a baby (they still end up breaking up).

Meanwhile, as Will and Miggy try to help Doug, there's only one person who can help Doug, and that is President Ronald Regan at the Ronald Regan Museum. But soon, the kids found out, and as Rory knew where Doug was, he would murder him. But instead, the two talked and had a heartwarming moment.  While waiting for Doug, Will tells Miggy that having a relationship within the group shouldn't happen, but Miggy disagrees and tells Will that he's proud of them and that you should hold feelings about someone.

Later, Will drives to Angie's house to talk, and just as he is going to talk about his feelings for her, Angie drops the bomb that she will travel with Derek this summer. Ouch!

"Look, This is a Sexy Situation" was a hilarious episode from beginning to end, as the ending was more heartbreaking for Will. That moment when Will finds out about Angie moving with Derek for the summer, they got the heartstrings pulling. Meanwhile, the moment with Doug and Rory talking about how even though they never liked each other this past year, they've grown a lot to like each other. Overall, there was good writing and character development in this episode. I give this episode an 8.5/10.

Watch Single Parents Season 2 Episode 21 A Night of Delicate ...

"A Night of Delicate Frenching"

As Poppy and Doug move on from their breakup, their kids think of a way to get them back together. They devise a way to make them jealous of their relationship, with Doug getting an Instagram account and showing fun time photos, while Poppy requests and shouts out to her new relationship on the radio. Soon, Poppy and Doug catch on and punish them; the twins have to suffer watching Parent Trip.

Will's plan to keep Angie home backfires as Graham gets to go with Sophie to Lance Bass Space Camp. She also loses her job, and Will tries to get it back for her. That made Angie very upset, and soon the two argued about it. Shortly after the power went out, the two apologized while lighting up cheap candles and opening up twist cap wine to cheer for their one last night as friends. The following day the two wake up face to face in the room, freaking out.

"A Night of Delicate Frenching" was an excellent and hilarious episode. I'd enjoy this Rory and Twins storyline more than the Christmas episode. I even loved and agree that Parent Trip is such an evil movie. Could Angie and Will have shown their genuine feeling for one another during that night? I hope so and that the season finale will end up the beginning of their relationship. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

Do you think that Angie and Will be together by the end of the season? You can go to my Twitter page, where there's a poll.

You can catch the season finale of Single Parents Wednesday at 9:30/8:30 on ABC.

Connecting with Each Other: All Rise "Dancing at Los Angeles" Season Finale

All Rise Review: Dancing at Los Angeles (Season 1 Episode 21 ...

The season finale of All Rise finds a way to pull of an episode during the COVID-19 crisis and pulls it off very well. Here's a recap.

At the start off the episode, we see everyone zooming each other; while they're doing their exercises and trying to keep their mental status in check during this COVID-19 pandemic. Almost everyone is worried about the backlog of cases as the list gets longer and longer by the day; Judge Carmichael comes up with an idea of doing a test trial using Zoom and lives streaming it or the public.

The first live stream trial is about a man who's in jail for stealing a car and being aggressive with his brother. Lopez and Callan have a difference of opinion of a pled deal. After both brothers were arguing during the trial; Carmichael looks back and talks to her mother about a message that she tried to understand; that pretty much was suitable for the case. Soon the two brothers come to terms; with the brother that was in jail got to be released that day to be with his pregnant wife.

Along with seeing Judge Carmichael bonding with her mother; we see how both her and Callan could never be in the same room for a trial. Callan and Amy talk about seriously moving in with each; Lopez and Watkins not only was dealing with the pandemic; but celebrated the night with dinner. But ended with a group dancing that got everyone from the cast, crew, and fans of the show that ended the episode on a high and happy note.

"Dancing at Los Angeles" couldn't have been better as it was such a good hour episode. I thought the overall episode was very good and the cast gives a good performance as they filmed this episode in their homes. The case of the week story was very good and had a good emotional impact. I think while the case of the week was good enough; being distracted and keeping busy was also another theme in this episode; along with thanking the men and women that put their lives on the line for us. That live stream DJ was pretty good and fitting throughout the episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

I hope that CBS would consider renewing All Rise for a second season. I very much want to see what comes next for this cast of characters that I very much got invested in.

You can catch episodes of All Rise available on CBS and CBS All Access.

Emotional Ending: Superstore "Sandra's Fight"/"Employee Appreciation Day" Season Finale

Image result for Superstore "Sandra's Fight"

The season finale of Superstore left us laughing, but it left us with a shocking ending that will not only leave you in shock but grabbing the tissues. Here's a recap!

In "Sandra's fight," Amy tries to deal with Sandra, as she fights and takes a stand for unionizing the workers. At Corporate, Jeff and the other heads aren't too happy with what's going on but Jeff tells Amy that if she doesn't stop Sandra that the executives will shut down and that the unionizing the employees will make it an automatic decision.

As Amy and Dina rush to Corporate, she leaves Jonah in charge to stop Sandra, but as she gets everyone in a union meeting it seems that everyone is on board, even Jonah. That wasn't pretty when Amy came back. As for Amy, she gets not only Corporate to decide which Cloud 9 store to shut down, but the manager at that store as well.

In "Employee Appreciation Day," started off as Amy tries to win her employees back by treating them with free stuff so they don't join a union. Things don't go so well and it even gets worst as Corporate sends in U.S. ICE to track any undocumented immigrants, which gets everyone in a crazy to try and get Mateo out. But as Amy and Cheyenne try to take Mateo out; he surrenders and was taken away in one of the most emotional and tearjerking moments of the season.

This hour-long season finale was as good as the previous season finale. But the second episode of the season finale (Employee Appreciation Day) that really won it; as it was the most powerful, emotional and tearjerking episode that I've seen this season on Superstore. I literally had to hug my grandmother after the episode; it was good and the performances were also brilliant and even the writing. This episode should get nominated for an Emmy at least. Overall, I give the season finale a 9.5/10 and the season 4 overall a 9/10.

You can catch Superstore this fall on NBC.

Finding a Way: Chicago PD "Confession"

Image result for chicago pd confession

As the intelligence unit tries to take down the top drug lord in Chicago, the Antonio incident case has reopened. Here's a recap!

As Antonio is at a meeting, a call from Voight and Ruzek had them discussing how Kelton has reopened the investigation of the suspect that Antiono pushed off a two-story warehouse building. Voight has a plan and gets them to meet with Atwater for a drug deal.

As Atwater and his CI make a deal with what seems to be a rookie drug seller, just as they make arrangements, the kid gets shot. The team investigates and takes them to the drug lord, Alex Del Toro. Antonio knows Del Toro, who had his partner killed years ago. They tried to arrest him for the murder but couldn't get anything stuck.

It soon becomes a two-case episode as Voight gets the top newspaper reporter, Katherine Bradley, to write a piece about Kelton. But their one source is MIA and Voight, and Ruzek tries to locate him. As Ruzek gets a location on their source, Voight meets with him and gets him to stand up against Kelton.
Soon, Antiono and the team find something that stuck with Del Toro, but just as they got something, he was on the move. They find Del Toro near the shipping yard and chase him through the abandoned warehouse. Antonio gets to him, and just when he is about to shoot, he grabs Del Toro and tries to push him off the edge of the building but doesn't and arrestedarrestsith everything looking good until the news conference that was supposed to be about Kelton dropping out; turns out to be Kathrine Brennen instead. Voight meets with Brennen to discuss this situation, and she tells him that she took the fall because he has dirt on her, and he has dirt on him, too. It seems like a war is coming to the intelligence unit.

"Confession" didn't match the episode a year ago when Al got stabbed. Still, it closely matches it as it was an episode focusing on Antiono from the week's case, facing an old enemy and even confronting his demons of pushing a suspect off the building. Jon Seda gives his best performance since the fall finale. And when things were looking suitable for Antiono, we can see how Seda will be leaving the series. The writing seemed to have been on the wall since the fall finale. Excellent writing, strong character development, and overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the season finale of Chicago PD on Wednesday, May 22, at 10/9c on NBC.

Finding The Connection: Chicago Fire "The White Whale"

The search for the arsonist is on for Severide; will anyone believe his leads from Benny? Plus, a firefighter steps up for a retired firefighter in need. Plus, are there sparks between Brett and Casey? Here's a recap!

Severide tells Boden and Casey about what Benny had in his case notes about this arson, but Boden can't believe what he thinks or goes with his gut about it because he needs more information. That goes for Lt. Hubble, who's not taking Severide's data seriously. Even though Casey is behind him, Severide goes out there and tries to get information. Severide spots this guy who's not helping clean up the salon and confronts him and believes that he's the guy. More later...

A retirement party has been called; it's not for Mouch. (Phew!) It's for another firefighter, Russ LaPointe (played by Abraham Benrubi, "ER"). When Herrmann and the gang visited him at his firehouse, they invited him to have his party at Molly's. Ritter gets to talk with him and, after a couple of minutes, really enjoyed him and his tip. But when the party was going on, LaPointe wasn't himself as he was drinking pretty heavily and talking about moments that had haunted him. After seeing that, Ritter asked Herrmann to make a wellness check and learned that LaPointe and his wife had separated. Ritter tells Herrmann more in-depth about his uncle, and that he killed himself, so they got the troops together and talked to LaPointe and got him to join a support group.

Brett confronts Kidd and Foster about what her friend said about her and Casey's date. After having a coughing fit when Casey walked in, Kidd and Foster agreed that she should date Casey. We get just little snippet moments: when Brett aids Casey's wound after a call, gets on Casey for not cleaning and changing the bandage, and Casey asks Brett to change his application so she doesn't yell at him. There's something there, but no one's pulling the trigger, not just yet.

Getting back to Severide, after taking a photo of that guy, he meets with the eyewitness, Carol Spears, who was at the fire the arsonist set. After making a positive ID,  he calls, but as he leaves a message, Severide notices Carol looking through his notes and asks her not to look. But as she was getting him some coffee, Severide spotted a piece of wire and even looked in the box for items of the bomb. Severide calls Casey and tells him and Boden that the arsonist is Carol, and her next building is a church.

As Casey and Boden get there, Severide guides Casey to search for the bomb. As Casey finds it, it goes off. Herrmann rushes in as Casey tries to break the lock just in time for Herrmann to take out the fire before things get worse. Later on, Severide, Casey, and Boden meet with Hubble to talk about what's next for Carol. Something tells me that it's going to get worse.

"The White Whale" was not only an excellent episode with action and suspense, but it had some of the most potent story moments that we could learn right now. The Ritter and LaPointe story was moving and was a PSA about reading the signs that someone needs help, even when they don't ask for it. It got the waterworks for me, even if it was Benrubi, who I grew up watching as Jerry, the desk clerk on ER.

I still feel that this arson case is the one thing that will give him the closure he needs from his father. I wonder how dangerous this person can be compared to the one from Season 3 that killed Shay. Also, I wonder what Kidd would tell Kelly just before Hubble interrupted.

The Casey and Brett thing is still in slow motion, but by the end of the season finale, she'll confront Casey and go out on a date. I want this to work!

This episode had strong writing, character development, and even some good performances from the cast. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the season finale of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, May 22, at 9/8c on NBC.

Realizing: Chicago Med "Forever Hold Your Peace"

Here's a recap of Wednesday's episode of Chicago Med.

Maggie's sister Denise visits with her boyfriend; but things take a real turn when Will sees that the boyfriend slapped her in the face, knocking her down. As Will bring her in the ED, Maggie starts asking questions and even got it by looking at Will. Maggie tries to tell Dennis that she needs to leave him for good, but she's not because she loves him. Well, Maggie and Will took care of things, mostly Maggie, as she went to talk to Denise's boyfriend and warned him to stay away, even slapped some sense into him. But it looks like Denise isn't on speaking terms with Maggie now.

Dr. Charles and Natalie deal with a pregnant patient, who's dying of cancer; whether she should have surgery to remove the tumor in her brain. As much as the husband wants it done, he gets second thoughts about the idea and I'm guessing that she's not gonna have the surgery but keep her on the ventilator to keep the baby alive.

Even Dr. Charles deals with something of his own, letting go of someone. He learns that Cici is moving back to Minneapolis, Minn. to take a job there and continue treatment. Charles tries to find ways to keep her in Chicago, even tries to get her an interview for another job. It was after talking to the husband of the pregnant woman; Charles realizes that he needs to do something and that he did as he gives Cici a letter to resign from Med, but she tells him that the reason why she's moving is that her cancer is back and wants to be along. Charles won't let that happen as he somewhat proposals to her to stay in Chicago and let him help her.

Ethan and April are taking care of Vincent, while Emily is trying to have some time but that leads her disappearing. With all of her clothes gone, Ethan and April get close and take on taking care of the baby. That is until  Emily finally shows up after traveling to St. Louis and back and tries to take Vincent but April and Ethan tell her to stay and think up a plan. My guess is that she's either going to take her baby and run away or leave her baby again and rush off.

The bigger story in this episode happens to be Conner as he deals with fathers. It's Conner's birthday and while he checks on his dad, he wishes him a happy birthday but soon starts the crap about how his mother wasn't at his birthdays because of her illness. That got Conner to leave. He soon deals with a young patient that might have broken his arm from a state board; but after smelling alcohol on the kid's father. It got even more suspicious when the kid was still in pain and wasn't taking the pain pills. After accusing the father; we learn that the kid was trying to help his father's pain problem and soon things got settled. That is when Conner saw the birthday photos from his past and not see his mother; he sees his father to tell him he's right till he sees him die.

"Forever Hold Your Peace" is a fine episode that deals with decision making on trying to say something that you should say before it's too late like for Dr. Charles and his ex-wife. Or being late to say that you're right and I'm wrong as we saw from Conner and his father. I did feel bad for Conner; but when someone like your father calls out your mother, who was ill at the time, that's not right at all. The Maggie/Dennis story was good but the moment between Denise' boyfriend and her was amazing and even Will steps in just in case.

I feel like Emily is heading back to her old ways and maybe leaving her baby with Ethan and April. Even though she's back now, who's knows if she can change or not, I'm sure Ethan feels like he's gone through the washer again with her. The writing was good and the performances were good too. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

You can catch the season finale of Chicago Med next Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC.

Oh man! Could Dr. Charles be leaving Med for good? I'm not quite sure that will happen. I think that Conner will be dealing with some powerful stuff this week that not only with that kid and his father in the clip but probably losing his dad too. Maybe Will could take some lessons from Ethan and April in relationships. Anyone think Emily will bail on her baby? Two more episodes left! It's so hard to believe that we are coming to the end of the season.

Missing His Presence: Fresh Off The Boat "Under The Taipei Sun" 100th Episode

Image result for Fresh off the Boat Under the Taipei sun

In the 100th episode of the series, with Eddie on a living exchange in Taiwan; will the family miss him or not? Here's a recap!

As Eddie is ready to set on his exchange living in Taiwan; he doesn't take any advice seriously from Louis and Jessica. But as soon as Eddie gets there, things look amazing and fun for him; until he blows his money on gifts for the family and loses his stuff on the way back to his aunt's house.

Meanwhile,  Jessica, Louis, and the family are living an Eddie-free life; riding bikes through the park and singing from The Sound of Music to eating a big dinner and saving a lot for leftovers. But as time goes, the family starts to miss Eddie, but not Jessica. Louis and the boys try to get Jessica to admit that she misses Eddie with heartfelt cards and finally did it.

As Eddie tries to find a way back to his aunt's house; a gang threatens him until a nice guy comes in and help. That is until Eddie stood up and the gang left in fear of how big he is. Eddie helped the nice guy with deliveries; used his phone instead of calling his aunt, Eddie calls his parents on a long distance, and everyone is thrilled to hear one another.

"Under The Taipei Sun" was another terrific episode for this milestone. This was such a well-written episode; even some spots from past moments in the show that really felt the episode special. But the dynamic was about Eddie and Jessica; being separated and realizing that they miss each other as a mother and son would be. There was such a strong character development between Eddie and Jessica and even Grandma, who has a Cheers tattoo of Norm. I would admit that the bike ride in the park was probably one of my favorite moments besides the phone call between Jessica, Louis and Eddie, and Jessica reading cards. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch Fresh Off The Boat Fridays at 8/7c on ABC.

The Palace of Love: Life In Pieces "Video Piercing Model Hangover"/"Sixteen Spanish Car Leak" Season Finale

Image result for Life in Pieces "Sixteen Spanish Car Leak"

The season finale of Life In Pieces was, at times, what you would think, and some came off as a complete shock. Here's a recap!

The first half-hour of "Video Piercing Model Hangover" was hilarious, with moments you would want to rewatch again. Whether trying to get a "Thank You" card from Matt and Colleen that turned into a video message or Sophia making a solid case for her parents to get her ears pierced, which would lead to having Tim outdo her.

But the winner for this episode would be John being the model for the senior citizen's latest gadgets, from the chair lift to the blood pressure monitor that alerted John's high blood pressure. And Jen and Greg, waking up after a hangover from a school auction, see their daughter doing stuff by herself, from making her cereal to getting water for them. It leads to Greg and Jen to have more time, which leads to Jen being pregnant.

Image result for Life in Pieces "Sixteen Spanish Car Leak"

The second half hour, "Sixteen Spanish Car Leak," was just as hilarious as the first and probably even better. Matt and Colleen won this episode with their storyline of having a baby after learning their surrogate is pregnant (and it's not theirs). The news leads them to buy a new car, which opens up to having a baby, and they announce after Sam's sixteen birthday that they're going to adopt, but Jen's pregnancy announcement from Lark ruined but brought the family together.

Speaking of Sam's sixteen birthday, when Sam thought that her family had forgotten her birthday, she spent the day with her boyfriend, after a lovely day was about to turn into a night of first. But her parents and family caught every word as she entered the dark house to surprise her. I guess the surprise was on both of them, But just before the party, Joan wanted to explore the world with John and tried to get them to learn to speak Spanish for their Spain trip. Instead of just using an app to help translate, they wanted to know it the old-fashioned way, which became a nightmare when buying stuff at a Spanish market. They went with the translating app.

The season finale was just as hilarious and memorable as the previous episodes. It will also explain why this show is one of the best family sitcoms on television, with fantastic writing and an ensemble cast. The ending of the episode, with everything playing to the song "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers, with all the love each other brings, makes you satisfied with smiles. I couldn't be more happy with what the next season will bring (even if it's coming in mid-season next season).  Overall, I give this episode a 9/10 and the season a 9.5/10.

You can catch Life In Pieces, as they'll return for a fourth season next year.

Fight For Love: The Blacklist "Lawrence Dane Devlin (No. 26)"

Image result for The Blacklist "Lawrence Dane Devlin"

The hunt is on, not just for the bag of bones for Red, but also for Samar as her life is in the balance.

Picking up where we left off in the previous episode, all hands are on deck to search and find Samar and her abductor and that includes Reddington to help too. Aram goes beyond, once again, to find Samar even if that has him getting answers from Moore, but in exchange for answers he wants his bible, for which Aram got him.

The only answer he would give was of a prolific killer that he had hired to kidnap the girl and Aram took that information and went with it. From searching they wind up finding the suspect Lawrence Dane Devlin, who happens to be a man who likes to kill and feed mother nature of them.

Finding the guy's hide out and lab, missed Samar and Lawrence, who happen to be driving Samar to another location to kill her. But she tries her best to stop him by stabbing him with a broken metal rod from the van but the final blow was for Lawrence was a bear attacking and killing him (thanks bear!). But as Samar grabs Lawrence's phone, the bear knocks the van that she's trapped in and it rolls down to the river, where she quickly calls Aram. Aram thinks of where she could be and when driving up he stops and after looking around seeing dead body and drag marks, he sees the van and runs down there. There he tries breaking in, finds and searches for the right key and as soon as he finds it he gets her out as quick as possible but would she be alive or dead? So far she's alive and on a breathing machine where Aram talks to her about getting married and that he won't leave her side while playing her song.

In the meantime, as Red goes out to searching for the bag of bones, he learns of where it might be at an auction under another crime boss. Red tries to arrange a meeting with him but turns him down til Red shoots the place up and demands to see the man. After they talk and asked about the bag and Ina Garvey but the guy never say a bag til they search at the video tape and see that Ian met with a man that Red thought was dead, Sutton Ross. After looking, he bumps with Liz as she too got the same information as Red did.

The two are at a stand still as both says that they'll find the bag of bones before they do, and leave it left it at that. Red leaves Liz there without given her a ride back home on his plane.

This felt like an episode that deserves a two hour time slot instead of a separating a week apart. As much as Red and Liz's story arc this half of the season has been a thrill ride and unlike any other Red-Liz relationship that we've ever seen, this episode was definitely an Aram and Samar episode. Showing hoe much they each love one another. It's a touching love story for the characters. Even the song playing while Samar is at the hospital was enough to be grabbing the tissues.

Anyway, the season finale is coming next week and with the news coming less than 12 hours before the NBC fall schedule was released the show gets picked up for a six season. And with that calming my mind, I believe that the finale will be unlike anything the show has ever done and that's just watching the promo and where we are at with everything on the line with Sutton Ross.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the season finale of The Blacklist Wednesday, May 16 at 8/7c on NBC.

Gut-wrenching: Chicago PD "Allegiance"

Image result for chicago pd allegiance

With Al arrested, does Voight have one more card up his sleeve to help his old partner?

Just like the previous episode, "Allegiance" puts Voight in between situations one being the case of the week of a undercover gun take down and Al getting arrested that puts much stress to his ability. With Atwater and Halstead going undercover to take down a gun deal that left Atwater in a tight situation between brothers, who one of them had to kill in order to make their boss accept and do the deal, but when telling Voight about it, he just replies to Atwater to whatever you had to do to get it done. For which, they did.

But it was the Al story that might have stolen the episode and Voight trying his best to get him out and drop the charges. Using one last card, asking Tommy Wells to take role of the judging for Al. With Al staying in jail, his wife trying to get him to tell the truth and not stand by the code, and the meeting between Voight and Al's wife wasn't pleasant at all. But by the time the bail sentencing, Wells was a no show, knowing that Woods had something to do with it.

Back at the Intelligence, Voight returns stunned and being asked by Antonio about what they could do, but Voight provokes and pushes him and them away while he goes to his office and takes a drink and thinking. It leads to him walking up to Woods' home and wanted to talk. But by the time he get there, Al gets a surprise of someone stabbing him in the stomach multiple times leaving him to bleed out and to be continued.

"Allegiance" was a strong character driven episode arc for Voight of his downfall from Woods, who's power is taking him to greater lengths than anyone before. The episode really accelerate to intense and emotional moments, mostly to Voight whether it's trying to take down this gun deal with gang members or dealing with Al's case. I would be surprised if Voight really confess to his doing of that suspect, mainly because I think he might have one last move, but what would I know it's been five seasons and I'm still surprised at times. The episode lives to the hype after the previous episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch the season finale of Chicago PD next Wednesday at 10/9c on NBC.
