"The Bachelorette Party"
When Alberta's great-grandniece is celebrating her bachelorette party at the mansion, things start to feel slightly off when the ghosts overhear a conversation between the groom and the bride's maid, which gives them the wrong idea about cheating. Sassa taps into his dream powers to warn Alberta's niece that her husband-to-be is being unfaithful, but wait a second, everyone- here's the twist: the bride's maid is actually the groom's sister, and they were just planning to catch up on their favorite show, Night Sugar! That sounds like a fun series to dive into. Get on it, Paramount!
Alberta tries to fix their mistake by sending a message to help her niece decide whether her fiancé is cheating by singing. As the niece knows the song's humming, she knows that her fiancé isn't cheating, and quickly enough, the two sing.
Meanwhile, Jay is worried about the first critical review of his restaurant, but Pete gets the inside scoop that the review is positive. That is, until Trevor gets his finger on helping Jay by bribing the critic with money to get a better review because he wants to be there like Jay was when he pretended to be him in the previous few episodes. Jay fixes the issue and gets the critic to rewrite an honest review of the restaurant, which turns out positive—that is, until an unavoidable accident occurs.
Of course, that accident happened to be the stripper Sam rehired from Issaic's bachelor party for Albert's niece's party. He jumped off a plane and flew down, but didn't open his parachute to land in Jay's restaurant. Well, the ghosts have a new member.
"The Bachelorette Party" was a delightful episode filled with memorable moments, like Alberta and her niece harmonizing. We discovered Alberta's feelings about her niece's fiancé, noting her disappointment in his music career, as she hurt her own lover's heart to pursue singing in New York City. Plus, I couldn't help but chuckle at how Flower humorously explained the terms for sex to Sass and Hattie- that was just too funny! It looks like the ghost might have a new member. I wonder what this will do for them?
Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.
"St. Hetty's Day"
It's the episode we've all been waiting for...what is Hetty's ghost power?
It's St. Patrick's Day, a time when Sam is reveling in the joyful spirit of the Irish! Meanwhile, Jay has his cousin staying over, trying to support him after a tough breakup that has him feeling a bit down. That is, until the incredible Hetty walks in, leaving him utterly amazed.
Hetty has this special power that allows her to be seen on St. Patrick's Day! However, since she is still a ghost, she can't physically interact with anything just yet. Jay's cousin quickly finds himself smitten with Hetty, enjoying a lovely lunch together. But when they're hanging out in the TV room, he suddenly remembers she's a ghost and completely freaks out!
Sam and Jay are surprised by Jay's cousin's words (nice acting guys, you're gonna win an Emmy!). Hetty expresses to Jay's cousin that she feels special for the first time in a long time and thanks him. She advises him not to lose sight of what he sees in people since he is an old soul.
Meanwhile, Chris, the stripper who fell to his death in Jay's restaurant, is learning to be a ghost. Isaac, trying to act like someone else, takes on the name Ice- more like melted ice than cool as ice. He believes he and Chris are meant to be, but Nigel also bonds with Chris and shares this belief. Chris quickly learns his ghost power: flying without returning to the mansion, allowing him to see the world and attend a soccer game. This leads to a moment between Isaac and Nigel, despite Isaac's lie about it.
"St. Hetty's Day" is another fantastic episode that might become one of my favorites this season! Although Hetty's power only shines once a year, it carries such a beautiful meaning for her character to discover her own specialness- a lesson she hasn't embraced throughout her lifetime. This development truly deepened my appreciation for her! Plus, the dynamic between Isaac and Nigel in this episode was so touching. They found love with Chris, the stripper who broke off their engagement, and when Chris left, it brought Isaac and Nigel closer together for a heartfelt moment when Isaac told a little lie. Does anyone think that these two will get back together?
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
