Recap: Ghosts "The Devil Went Down to Woodstone" Season Finale

This week's season four finale of Ghosts saw a book celebration spiral into chaos as Sam and Jay navigate ghostly disturbances and a shocking twist involving Jay's agent, which brought a new meaning to soul searching. Here's a recap!

When Sam mentions to Jay that they have an invitation to a book event celebrating her and Isaac's exciting new vampire book, they learn that the event will take place in New York City, where Isaac unfortunately can't attend. However, after sharing the news enthusiastically with Bela (thanks, sis!), Isaac hears about it, and they manage to bring the book event over to Woodstone!

Everything seems to be going well, that is, until Patience returns, sensing a troubling disturbance in the atmosphere. While they try to divert her attention with Albert's fondness for Pete, the book party carries on. Just when Patience discovers that the celebration is still in full swing, she arrives with bloody walls (which, surprisingly, excites the guests).

So, what troubling issue had Patience all flustered? It turns out it's Elisa, Hetty's husband from the underworld, who has a rather sinister arrangement with the devil to show up in living rooms to claim other people's souls. However, they discover that he is Jay's agent, responsible for securing some excellent press coverage for his restaurant. And guess what? He's got Jay's soul in an agreement! Shocker! So, from now on, Jay must watch his surroundings, for it's going straight to hell for him.

Meanwhile, as I mentioned earlier, Patience was shaming Alberta's feelings for Pete. During that time, Pete happened to overhear their conversation. When he left, we learned that he had ended his relationship with Dana and started a new one with Alberta, which blossomed beautifully with a lovely kiss!

"The Devil Went Down to Woodstone" was an excellent episode. Although some moments were predictable, the characters and story felt exciting and solid. It was expected that Elias's reveal would take place, but seeing Sam and the others discover that Jay has sold his soul to him for help with the restaurant was not just hilarious but also quite exciting! We should listen more to Patience when she feels an evil presence. Jay might be in bubble boy status until Sam and the ghosts can figure out a way to sort this out, right?

While we could talk to Jay about this situation without mentioning it to Sam, let's be honest: The ghosts really should have kept Sam in the loop regarding what Elias was up to during his visit months ago. Now, Jay has to be extra careful to avoid dangerous situations, all for some positive PR for his restaurant.

And of course, Alberta and Pete finally revealed their true feelings for each other! It's about time, you two! I'm so excited to see where this relationship will take them!

Overall, I give this episode an 8.8/10.
