The wait is almost over! The Office spinoff has an official title and premiere month set on Peacock. Here's the detail.
On Monday, Peacock announced at the Upfronts that "The Paper," an extension of the Office universe, will premiere on the streaming service in September. A more precise date will be communicated shortly.
The series features Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, along with original cast member from The Office, Oscar Nunez, who will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez, now no longer serving as an accountant at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. The cast also includes Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and comedian Alex Edelman.
Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, the co-creators of The Office, The Paper finds the same documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin Scranton searching for a new subject. They ultimately find it in a historic Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller, and the eager publisher trying to revive it.
Danials and Koman will serve as writers and executive producers of the series, while the original executive producers of The Office, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, and Ben Silverman, will also reprise their roles.
