Thoughts:
This is like Christmas and the Super Bowl all wrapped into one night: the return of One Chicago, with our favorite characters returning and new ones making their debut. The excitement is real, guys!
For Med, the big question everyone's curious about is who the father of Hannah's baby is. Most of us suspect it's Dean, especially since there's only been one night they were together: Captain Church. Then there's Riply, whom I've been rooting for to be the father. However, it would put a real damper on the new relationship with the patient he had helped rescue and her daughter, because they seemed to have something special, even if it had happened during an emergency.
Of course, the absence of Maggie will be disappointing, but Dolories will take over the role until she returns. Halstead is set to return, for what would be anyone's guess, but I hope it isn't a sad return. With Halstead returning, I hope to see more original cast members return to the show later this season. We sure got some adorable surprises last season.
For Fire, will we jump a few weeks into after the finale or jump months ahead? From the promos, it looks like we're going to see Kidd and Severide going through the pregnancy from beginning to the end in this season. It will be exciting to see how they navigate the transition and balance their work and personal life when Baby Severide is born.
Any newcomer always puts us on guard, whether we like them or not; they can leave a lasting impression, either good or bad. I'm looking forward to the new guy arriving, and there might be a spark with Novak. As for the drama surrounding the budget cuts, I know it would be sad to see Herrmann get cut, but if it happens, would it be for the best for him, given his guest-starring role working at Molly's?
For P.D., after the exciting season finale, I'm looking forward to seeing how Voight (seeing him in officer's outfit is a bit werid, right) and his team return to Intelligence (after being disbanded by Reid) and of course, encountering the newly officer Namoi Kerr, and pretty much off the gate with her first impression with the team calling them "The Brady Bunch" in the promo which really won me over. I'm hoping we can keep her for more than a season.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the newlywed couple, Burzek, has been up to since their lovely (short) wedding! Will they just come off their honeymoon? I'm guessing the new season starts just a few weeks after the finale, which makes it even more exciting to watch their journey continue.
