TV Corner Notes: Week of Twists, Premieres & Holiday Binge Picks

From shocking twists to holiday premieres, this week’s TV lineup is full of drama, laughs, and must-see moments.

Welcome to this week’s edition of TV Corner Notes! We’re diving into the latest reviews, previews, and highlights from across the small screen. From the latest twists in The Lowdown to the premieres and finales setting up the holiday viewing season, there’s something for every TV fan to catch up on.

The Lowdown "Old Indian Trick"

Picking up immediately from the previous episode, Lee confronts a jealous Donald, who warns him to stop investigating, believing a local street artist had manipulated his brother, Dale, into suicide. As Lee is dropped off in town, he unexpectedly runs into his ex, Samantha, at a bookstore. She reveals she has called off her wedding, and they share a brief, lingering kiss before quickly pulling away.

Donald meets with Pastor Mark Sternwick, a member of Frank's coalition, and is shocked to learn that Mark's church is actively trying to buy his family's land. When Frank gets upset, Mark threatens to uphold the sale or face a fate similar to Allen's. Meanwhile, Lee gets help tracking down the street artist, Chutto, and uncovers a shocking family history with Arthur, who reveals the Washbergs' land originally belonged to his grandfather.

This episode was well-written and well-performed, blending humor, intense consequences, and shocking reveals. The late Graham Greene’s final performance as Arthur was memorable and bittersweet. I give this week’s episode an 8.5/10.

It’s been a week since the news that The Kitchen will officially end this December after 11 years on Food Network. Honestly, that one hurt. Later this week, I’ll be sharing a full reflection on what made The Kitchen so special, why its cancellation stings, and how the show became a Saturday morning staple for so many of us. Stay tuned.
