ABC has finally revealed its fall game plan, and the biggest shock isn’t what’s airing; it’s what’s being saved for later.
On Tuesday, ABC became the fourth broadcast network (after CBS, NBC, and Fox) to unveil its fall TV schedule. Which shows are on the move, where did the new ones land, and what’s being held for midseason?
One of the biggest surprises on the schedule is ABC’s decision to hold High Potential until 2027, alongside dramas The Rookie, its newly ordered spinoff The Rookie: North, and Will Trent. Taking High Potential’s place this fall will be Season 2 of R.J. Decker, airing Tuesdays at 10/9c behind Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars.
Scrubs will be back in the fall, once again leading out of Abbott Elementary, while Shifting Gears is being pushed to 2027. New seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise are also being reserved for next year.
Here’s the schedule:
Sunday
7/6c America’s Funniest Home Videos
8/7c The Wonderful World of Disney
Monday
8/7c ESPN Monday Night Football
Tuesday
8/7c Dancing with the Stars
10/9c R.J. Decker
Wednesday
8/7c Scrubs
8:30/7:30c Abbott Elementary
9/8c Celebrity Jeopardy!
10/9c Shark Tank
Thursday
8/7c 9-1-1
9/8c 9-1-1: Nashville
10/9c Grey’s Anatomy
Friday
8/7c Celebrity Wheel of Fortune
9/8c 20/20
Saturday
7:30/6:30c College Football
Midseason – Scripted: High Potential, Shifting Gears, The Rookie, The Rookie: North, Will Trent. Unscripted: The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise.
With High Potential, The Rookie, Will Trent, and the Bachelor franchises all waiting in the wings, ABC’s real drama might not start until 2027. Do you like this strategy, or does it kill your excitement for the fall? Tell me what you think, did ABC nail this lineup or fumble the ball? Leave a comment.
