A tense, emotional finale that finally lets Lucky step out of her father's shadow.
The Lucky finale sticks the landing with a satisfying mix of action, betrayal, and emotional payoff. Anya Taylor-Joy once again owns the episode as Lucky prepares for one final dangerous meeting, while Annette Bening delivers some terrific work as Priscilla. But what makes the finale work so well is that Lucky finally stops playing by her father's rules. After spending her entire life being pulled back into John’s world of cons and manipulation, she gets the last word—and the final con is perfectly suited to her character.
The desert showdown quickly spirals into chaos when Lucky reveals that she knows Wayne Whittaker has an inside man within the FBI. The revelation turns the carefully planned sting into a violent confrontation, but the biggest emotional bombshell comes when Lucky reveals that Cary was Wayne's biological son. Wayne's cold reaction pushes Priscilla over the edge, and her decision to kill him provides a fitting end to their toxic relationship. Bening gets some of the episode's strongest moments as Priscilla finally allows Lucky and John to walk away.
Of course, John can't resist being John. Even after everything they've been through, he steals the crypto and the teddy bear containing the seed phrase, believing he's finally gotten the better of his daughter. But Lucky is ready for him this time. She anticipated the betrayal, changed the seed phrase, and leaves him with nothing but a recording explaining exactly what she did. Instead of keeping the nearly $10 million for herself, Lucky sends the money and the correct information to Agent Rand, choosing freedom and an honest life over another fortune built on lies.
It's a perfect ending for Lucky—not because she wins the money, but because she finally breaks free from the person who has shaped her entire life. Taylor-Joy gives the character both vulnerability and confidence, making Lucky's final decision feel earned rather than convenient. After seven episodes of running, scheming, and surviving, Lucky finally gets to choose her own future. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.
