Peacock is heading back for another getaway.
According to Deadline, The Five-Star Weekend has officially been renewed for a second season after becoming the streamer's most-watched scripted original ever, reaching 2.1 billion minutes viewed since its July 9 premiere.
Originally planned as a limited series, the adaptation of The Five-Star Weekend left room for more stories, and that gamble has clearly paid off. Jennifer Garner, D'Arcy Carden, Regina Hall, and Chloë Sevigny all have options to return, while the Season 1 finale hinted that the friends' next reunion could take them overseas, with Greece emerging as the leading destination.
Created by Bekah Brunstetter and based on Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling novel, the series follows Hollis Shaw as she navigates grief, friendship, and self-discovery during a transformative weekend in Nantucket. Peacock credited the show's relatable themes and standout ensemble cast for its breakout success.
I'm not surprised by this renewal. The Five-Star Weekend was one of the summer's biggest streaming success stories, and the finale left just enough possibilities for another chapter. If Season 2 can recapture the heartfelt friendships, emotional storytelling, and gorgeous scenery that made the first season so enjoyable, this is one return trip I'll gladly take.
