Opinions and Relationships: Chicago Med "Speak Your Truth" Season Premiere

Chicago Med is back!!

In the season premiere, after the event of last season's season finale, the show picks up right back up with Dr. Charles and Kellogg on the ground after Kellogg shot him and himself. Goodwin gets there and talks to Charles through til they get into the ER where Rhodes comes in and takes him up to the OR .

The episode jumps three months, Charles is still feeling some pain but wants to get back to work. He's going to Kellogg's trial to testify. Mostly everyone in the hospital as the same opinion about Kellogg but Charles, who thinks that Kellogg deserves to be in a mental hospital where he can get help.

But of course, the one person that thinks that it's a total bull was Reese, who expressed her opinion about Kellogg. With that in mind, Reese took it in her own hands and testify against Kellogg saying that he's acting out for attention and gave examples but Kellogg gave the perfect example by showing his anger and tries to attack her.

Of course, Kellogg was found guilty and will be taken to prison and get treatment. But Charles what's the guy not in jail because he'll probably not seek the treatment that he deserves. For which he might be right but Reese was right to do what she did.

Meanwhile, April and Ethan's relationship is trying to be on the down low but some are picking up what they are showing, even some of the other nurses. Ethan wants to go public but April doesn't and sees that he's given her special treatment among the others by having her run test while others didn't and had to clean up and such.

Rhodes has his hands full when it comes to work and relationship as  Robin has been release from the hospital. Reese tells Rhodes that she may not be the same and experience some personal changes. Those changes happen to be sexual as she wants more and he had to get to work. As for work, Dr. Lahtam gives his surgery  to Dr. Bekker, who shows a bit of competition with Rhodes.

The one story that we all were looking forward to was #Manstead. Manning comes back to work after a three months off and got everyone thinking that she wasn't coming back. She gets back to work with Halstead, who misses her too, with a couple who got into a car accident. The wife needed to tell her husband that she's sorry but never got the chance as his injuries where too severe. After the shift had ended, both Halstead and Manning talked about that couple and as soon as they were to walk apart, Halstead opened up to Manning about why he broke it off with Nina. He tells her that he still has feeling for her and that it hasn't left him at all and soon Manning kisses Halstead to finish off how she feels about him.

"Speak Your Truth" was a really good season opener that really had some conversations to talk about, with the Kellogg case no doubt. The episode was strong in the writing that brought good haracter development and even some really good emotional moments. I thought Rachel DiPillo was really good in this episode along with Nick Gehifuss and Torrey DeVitto. I really enjoyed Norma Kuhling as Dr. Bekker. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Men Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Trial & Searching: Chicago Justice "Comma"/"Drill"

"Comma"

When a scavenger hunt becomes deadly, the one suspect that everyone wants to pin it on is the one that was trialed for murdered in another country.

"Comma" was another good episode that delivered what we thought would be the suspect but gave a very nice twist of who done it. And it answers the question that do we jump to the gun on who the suspect is quickly?

When a scavenger hunt goes wrong and a college student is murdered, the one suspect comes to everyone at the State's Attorney's office is the one that was in a high profile trail in Spain. But in this case, looks can be deceiving when clues comes in that she wasn't there at the time of the murder and the  murder weapon didn't have her fingerprints either.

But when learning of the victim was a gun advocate, they found someone who was with her who happens to be an anti-gun supporter. Putting her on trial, the ball really dropped at to what she believed and how she was more influenced by her professor about guns saying that he was like her father in a way someone that she has never had in her life before, being supportive and so.The jury founded the victim guilty.

After i do enjoy the conversation between Jefferies and Stone about how do college students get so stupid with how his daughter after coming home gets angry with him about fighting over at Vietnam and Stone was mad at his family for clearing out the Native Americans. After that Jefferies calls the Security of State's office to help clear the first suspect in the case to be free from having to go back to Spain after testifying against the suspect.

This was a very good episode. I thought the writing was good and the acting was there too. The meaning really does open up of how college students can be influenced by professors for a cause. It's a real touchy subject for me anyway. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

"Drill"

When a gun is turned in for buy back it turns out to be a murder weapon, but the twist comes down to who it belongs to during a trail.

When a man brings in a gun for the buy back project, it turned out to have blood on it and takes the man into custody about where he found the gun. The gun turns out to be a murder weapon for a trail that has an innocent man on trail.

After learning about this, the suspect on trail is released and when he gets dropped off, he gets attacked from other gang members because he was a snitch. Trying to find who used the gun, Stone uses the most powerful weapon he could do, shut off every gang member's social media counts. Apparently it worked and when it did, had someone testified and soon admitted that he was the suspect after showing how to use the gun that had a broken spring.

This was another good episode. There was some very good dramatic moments. But it was Stone boldly taken on people and their social media that really could be the conversation that everyone would talk about. Is it the right thing to do? Could it really serve a purpose on shutting down gang member's social media if they're gonna take down someone? Probably. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Unforgettable: Chicago Justice "Dead Meat"/"Double Helix"/"Lily's Law"

"Dead Meat"

When a cop is found murdered in a tub at a motel, the case leads to one of Stone's cases that he lost. But as they always say, the second time is the charm, right?

"Dead Meat" was a perfect episode story between Stone and the man he tried to bring down years ago but never did—a bit of cat and mouse at will.

When the State's Attorney's office gets called of a dead cop in a motel, it leads to them a butcher owner who had previous encounters with mostly Antonio and Stone. But for Stone, he feels like he has gotten him now and not only goes for the case but tries to bring the previous case to court as well.

When a knife from evidence is out, Stone goes by people's accounts and stories. After he questions the suspect in court about how he didn't know that a former worker was in the barn at the time of a fire, he was trying to save the pigs and told of the technique he uses for which Stone remembered how the latest victim had died.

Stone and Anna talk with the suspect and his lawyer and bring in the wife of the previous case to see him say that he killed her husband. Stone throws in a deal and tells them his theory of the murder went down, and after showing photos of the victim, the suspect takes the deal and admits that he had killed the wife's husband, too.

This episode was excellent as we learned more and more about how Stone works in the business and what he had learned from his father. I thought the writing was terrific, and the acting between Winchester was also excellent. Overall, I give this episode an 8/10.

"Double Helix"

In a chilling case, Stone faces an issue that's another flash from the past, and a mother tries to get her daughter back.

When Antonio inspects a warehouse, they find the dead body of a woman in a freezer. Later, they learned that the victim was pregnant, and her baby was stolen. The question relies on who took the baby and whether it is okay.

After searching around, they looked into the victim's workplace and even the yoga class, where a group of friends mentioned an ex-boyfriend. They headed to the boyfriend's apartment, where he explained that he was shut out of her life six months ago but always tried to get back together. They returned to his apartment when they found out that he had connected with her, but it was his girlfriend who linked and mentioned that the victim was with one of her pregnant yoga friends, Dawn.

When they get to Dawn's place, she has the baby, but after she lets them in and puts the baby down, Antonio sees that the baby's face is blue. They arrested her and tried her for murder, but it also opens up the case of genetics because Dawn is the daughter of a murderer that Stone not only convicted as his first high-profile case.

The considerable debate was about genetics and whether it must be passed down to the next generation. In this case, for Stone, it doesn't, and proved that she did. She wanted a child because she couldn't have any. She was convicted of two counts of murder.

Meanwhile, Dawn's father tries to get a new trial as new evidence has come out saying that Dawn killed the woman he was convicted of. When it was Stone's turn to speak, he didn't do much til he let a big got you on him with that if she had committed the murder, his plea deal was a whole lie and not to mention that four other murders were in Indiana that he did for which he asked that he would be tried there because in Indiana there is the death plenty.  He was sent.

"Double Helix" was an excellent episode; not only did it open up the genetics conversation (for which it isn't that old of a conversation), but it was an excellent debate on and off screen. Also, Joelle Carter's performance was amazing as we learned about her situation getting her child back and her history of her father being the cause of her pill-popping, which it wasn't. This would be another memorable episode. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Lilly's Law"

This episode might as well be the most conversational this season.

When one of the jury members asked to leave because it had become stressful, she was later found dead in the Chicago River with duct tape around her hands and mouth. This case will go Stone fighting for the victim like any before.

When investigating the victim's death, they found that her ex-husband had been text messaging her over 60 times in three days before she had died, with most of them very threatening and demanding messages about how a lousy parent she is and how she shouldn't be on the jury for the trial.

After reviewing everything they gathered, Stone and the team go after the ex-husband for all the bullying he's done to her and give her the thought of killing herself, which she did. Soon, Stone goes to the one person who would know all, the son. He asked him about his mother and if he loved his mother. Not to mention using his cell phone and showing the jury a video message to his mother about how he hated her and all that, but he confessed that it wasn't he that meant to say those words that it was written out for his dad to make him tell them.

When the jury found the ex-husband guilty, in one of the most shocking twists, the judge changed the jury's verdict and let the husband go free because the jury let their emotions get in the way of this case. My jaw was down to the floor when I saw that happen.

Ultimately, Stone tries to change a law that makes text messaging a rule, calling it Lilly's Law. In the meantime, in the end, he goes to an old friend's place to make amends to her because he didn't speak up about the beatings she got in a previous relationship.

This was one of the most shocking and disturbing episodes yet. The ending to the case was a shock, but I think what Stone did, from proposing a new law to making amends to an old friend, helped settle the "oh my god" moment. I thought the case was terrific in this episode, as everyone played very well. Winchester and Carter's characters stood out in this episode very well. The writing was excellent, too. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice on Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Difference of Opinion: Chicago Justice "Friendly Fire"

When a solider is found murdered, it'll lead Stone and the team to one secret that the victim was trying to fix what was right.

"Friendly Fire" could be one of the most intense episodes so far as there's a divided line between what's right and what's not and that's mostly coming from Jefferies and Stone.

When a solider is found murdered, the State's Attorney's office investigates and as it goes interviewing a waitress to even the victim's fiance nothing really was coming together til it just fell right to their lap or in this case on the victim's chest. The autopsy showed a USB disk in the victim's body for which he had kept in there. After trying to see what was in it, they finally saw that it was a video taking place during a mission that went totally wrong, killing someone that they were suppose to rescue and ended up covering it.

Stone and the team learns more that the victim had a book deal and was going to write a tell all book of his experience. Even more that also he sent a check of a lot of money to the victim's family that was killed on their mission because of guilt he had kept for so long. But soon they figure that this might be a cover up and which lead to the arrest of the victim's best friends and also solider buddies that were also on the mission too.

With leverage, Stone's got a slam dunk case, even after getting a judge permission to use the USB disk on trail. But here comes Jefferies and ordering him to not use the video in the case and after telling Stone he's opinion about it and a very specific one at that (because he served in Vietnam), soon Stone stands his grounds and tells him that he should and they conversation ended with if Stone uses it, make sure he has his resignation papers ready.

During the trail things were going good, Stone gave one of the suspect's testimony about what had happen and why him and his partner killed their best friend. But soon word of the tape was mention and after Stone saw Jefferies in the room, he went on using the tape and after all of that the jury found the suspect guilty.

Later on, Stone walks into Jefferies' office to hand him his resignation paper but he wasn't really gonna take it at all. But later we see Jefferies walking into the victim's father's bar and shared a drink with him and talked about medals and their experiences as well.

This was a very good episode along with this being Carl Weather's first time that we get to see his character evolved this time was pretty darn good. As much as I enjoyed the case, I was more into the Stone-Jefferies face of which was just intense and daring. Those two are gonna to make some excellent intense moments down the road. The writing was so good in this episode. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

You Don't Know: Chicago Justice "Judge Not"

When a court judge gets gunned down outside a local bar and the only person that was there was Valdez.

After a case not going Valdez's way, and judge and her planned to met for dinner at a bar and after their meeting when they went to both their cars, the judge is shot to death. Valdez stunned and determine to help with the case but Stone wouldn't allow it.

As Stone and his team dig deep on who would want to kill the judge, they go through his family: a foster child that him and his wife were to adopt, but she gives them and the team a run for their money as she's a bit of a wild child. Also threats to the judge were looked at too after he ruled a raped case to give the defendant a lighter sentence.

Through the episode, Stone asked twice to three times to Valdez what was she doing at the bar, but doesn't give an honest answer, thinking that it wasn't a big deal in the case. Yeah it was! But when Antonio and Laura finds a lead that lead back to a rape victim that the judge had ruled, but she tells them that she didn't kill him but a gun that she owns put her towards the murder.

Well, the gun that they said she had, she totally forgot about it and left it with her ex-boyfriend's place. Antonio and Laura get there, asked a couple of questions and gets a vibe from him that this might be the suspect and it turns out that the motorcycle in the garage that had a sticker on the front of the bike window turns out to be the right guy.

As the court case begins, it was going back and forth for the Stone and heading to a down fall after Valdez was gave her testimony as she was with the judge. But after a discussion with Dr. Charles, he figured what the motivate was for the suspect to do this crime...to protect his girlfriend out of jealously that she was with another guy, who are about to get married soon and he buster it out in open court in front of everyone before the it could begin.

:"Judge Not" was a pretty good episode. It pushed the characters between Stone and Valdez's relationship. The writing was pretty good as was performances from Monica Barbaro and Winchester as well.  The story did have some twist and turns and some doubts of what Valdez was doing with the judge but turns out that he was trying to help him with his adopted daughter move on the right track. All I have to say after seeing that child is may god be with her. Overall, I give this episode 8/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.

Chicago Justice "See Something"

On a very special episode of Chicago Justice, it's one of the most talked about conversations to date.

"See Something" could be the staple episode of what Chicago Justice stands on television and that is tackle the hard issues and headlines that make us think and literally talk about it. This episode just hits the nail on the head no doubt about it.

When the States Attorneys office tackles a sensitive case when a Muslim graduate student was found brutally murdered both Stone and Valdez tries to convict a fraternity student. But that all changed when Antonio and Nagel finds out that the student was set up and instead arrested the victim's best friend.

During the trial, it may look like a slam dunk for Valdez as they got the key eye witness but when that eye witness testified, things kind of went south as the defendant's lawyer asked her not only about her hijab but also her health as she's a Type 1 Diabetic, who's eye sight aren't good.

For Stone, he wasn't too happy as he called it "being naked out there." But when he redirected and asked the witness about her health and also got her to read the three fingers that the court deputy was holding up, it seemed to look good back to them.

But when the defendant testified, he not only admitted it to killing his best friend but also that he did it because his best friend was a terrorist. Damn, what a left turn that took! Hell, he even told about a video on his friend's phone that was for ISIS. Of course, State's Attorney Jefferies wasn't too pleased with this and told Stone to cut a deal, but the defendant didn't want it so Stone took the route and headed on.

Stone questions the defendant about how he killed the victim and really just got him to admit that he was jealous of him for getting a lot of rewards for his work in physics. And after that, Stone got to give is closing remarks that really is a thinker. And by that the verdict was in and the defendant was found guilty.

This episode was so good and a really conversation piece as well, something that a legal drama doesn't really show these days expect for SVU and This Is Us. There were moments that I though that this episode might go a completely the other way with Stone, Jefferies and Valdez talking about race and patriots. Te writing was so solid and the cast from Winchester, Weathers and even Monica Barbaro was great. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice on it's regular time, Sundays at 9/8c on NBC.

Chicago Justice "Uncertainty Principle"

In the series premiere of Chicago Justice, Dawson is faced with an unease case that involves a former partner from CPD.

"Uncertainly Principle" is the series premiere of the fourth installment of "Chicago" series that really has that old feel of Law & Order, but fresh and exciting.

When a case comes to the States Attorney's office of a man died in a jail cell, all signs show that the man's death was caused from a CPD officer, Kevin Atwater. With only video clips that put together of Atwater and the victim, Atwater would be charged with murder.

To help Atwater out, Voight calls on Paul Robinette, the former ADA on Law & Order, also worked wit Peter Stone's father Ben as well. Robinette and Stone meet and talked about the case and fathers as in Peter shouldn't leave bad terms with his dad, no matter what they were.

The trail didn't seem to go in Atwater's favor and what seems to be one last hope, Robinette talks Peter on a plead agreement, which was a year in prison (my jaw dropped). But something sparked when the conversation of the victim puking on someone in the jail cell.

Stone and Valdez speaks with the witness that testified and got him lying about it and that he was the one that killed the victim because he didn't get a cigarette from him. Later, Atwater was clear of all charges and Peter Stone not only gives his apologies to Atwater but also a word about justice, for which was moving and chilling as well.

This episode was outstanding, literally one of the best legal dramas on television in a while. The cast is another outstanding ensemble bunch that plays so so well with one another. Winchester and Seda give a very good performance as one tries to help his former partner while the other tries to prosecute him. The writing was so good as this seems to be a classic ripped from the headlines that was kind of bunched up into one great episode. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice on a special night Tuesday at 10/9c on NBC and on it's regular night Sundays at 9/8c on NBC.

#OneChicago Chicago Fire "Deathtrap"/Chicago PD "Emotional Proximity"/Chicago Justice "Fake"

Image result for Chicago Fire, Chicago PD Chicago Med Chicago Justice crossover

Talk about one hell of an emotional roller-coaster ride!

Wednesday night was the epic four-show crossover of all four Chicago series. It started with the Chicago Fire in "Deathtrap," which opened up with Firehouse 51 getting the call of a warehouse fire that called for every firehouse and ambulance to get there. It was a hands-on-deck situation.

Image result for chicago fire pd med justice crossover
For the first 30 minutes of the episode, it felt like an hour, and that was because it felt so raw, emotional, and movie-like episode. I mean, I was getting teary eyes at times, and my heart was pumping fast. Severide tries to get everyone out as he tries to bust the locked door, and soon, both Squad and Truck go in there.

They get others out, and even Mouch had an accident as well. But the moment comes when Al, from PD, comes to Bowden and tells him that his daughter lives there. He first searches and sees if Dawson has seen her, but no signs at all. Al begs Bowden to go back in there, which Bowden does. He and Severide find her and another person, and with the fire growing and growing, their hearts race, but they make it out.

Both Fire and Med share the hour, treating patients but also treating Al's daughter, with Will and Natalie on hand. Al's daughter was burned 60 percent of her body, and her lungs also suffered smoke burns. Things looked hopeful for her. The episode captured the realness of emotion and shock as Casey and Bowden look at those who didn't make it and wonder who the hell would have done this.

The warehouse owner shows up and soon gets attacked by grieving families and friends. They took him to Firehouse 51 to talk with Bowden and the Fire Deputy about the situation. He tells them that he didn't know it was going to be that many people and the reason why he let people live there was that other places were so high on rent. After hearing the death count up to 36, the owner asks for the bathroom and seconds later blows his head off with a gun. Severide and Susan inspect the warehouse and spot the origins of the fire and that it was arson.

Soon, Chicago PD jumps on the case in the episode "Emotional Proximity" when Voight tries to see Al and his daughter and gets word from Bowden that it is arson. Quickly, Al's daughter takes a turn for the worst, and Will and Natalie jump. In and cut the burns around her chest so her lungs can expand. Things didn't look so good for her, and it didn't as later her condition worsened to the point that her organs were failing.

Voight and the Intelligence Unit pulled everything they had into searching for the suspect. You can cut the emotional intentions with a knife. It was sometimes overwhelming, even in the scene when Erin takes Al's daughter's photo and places it with the others who have died, making in 38 people.

Like insignificant episodes like PD, they balanced out the drama and humor along with an incredible chase scene with Halstead jumping over the hood of a car, which was a nasty ass and one of my favorites. With suspect after suspect, things picked up when they got a video of the suspect leaving the warehouse party and soon figured that he'd be there at the memorial, which he was.

Erin, Halstead, and Ruzek get him moving the alley and right into Voight's hand, or should I see Voight's gun? If you think that would be intense, it was when he and the suspect wrecked in the cage, and he demanded answers, even with a knife to the neck, which didn't do much. But Al storms in and demands to have a word, for which Voight wouldn't allow it. But soon, Antonio gets word from Al that the suspect told him he did it, which wasn't what had happened.

Now, taking the suspect into custody, we jump to Chicago Justice, the first full episode, and look into the series since its pilot episode last season on CPD. Antonio finds out that the suspect didn't tell Al or Voight anything that he had caused the fire and soon tells Stone about it a day later, which doesn't help.

The suspect's lawyer plays Stone like a game and tries to get the trial dismissed. With the fake news report to even that the suspect was even raped by his uncle, but it all comes down to one victim from the fire that triggered him to do what he did.

This whole thing was all about a girl he liked, and asked her out for coffee, but she declined and told him she was busy with other things. He stalks her on Facebook and sees how much fun she's having with other people; he wonders why not him, and so it was all about if he can't have her, then she can't have anything else.

Stone makes his case one last time, and with the suspect's reaction, he is guilty of all charges, from the fire to even the 38 counts of murder. While we hear about the count of Al's daughter, the last scene shows Al in tears as justice is finally done.

This event was one hell of a #OneChicago crossover. It felt like a feature film. The performances from everyone were terrific. Even Bradley Whitford was great. The writing was so solid. I couldn't find anything wrong with it except that I wish it had limited commercial interruptions; that would have been much better for Fire. But Dick Wolf and the gang know what they are doing, and I leave it up to them to do whatever they want. Overall, I give this TV event a 10/10.

You can catch Chicago Justice tonight at 9/8c on NBC, followed by the premiere of Shades of Blue at 10/9c.

Chicago Fire will return on March 21 at 10/9c, and Chicago will return on March 22 at 10/9c. Chicago Med will be following this week at 9/8c on NBC.

Chicago Fire "Scorched Earth" & "Nobody Else Is Dying Today"

Image result for Chicago Fire

"Scorched Earth"

In this episode, the heat has been turned up as word gets out about Louie, and Dawson isn't happy; Casey tries to handle it but figures something that fishy, and one firefighter tries to help a sick, runaway kid.

When Dawson gets a phone call regarding that, they get an anteroom someone about "someone" (Casey) using political leverage to get Louie's adoption faster for her. That leads to Dawson being distraught while Casey tries to handle it with help from Susan.

After dodging the Sun-Times, Casey meets with Susan again about the situation as it was done and sealed. But that gave Casey a thought about how all of this went down. He goes back to the reporter and learns word that Susan is also part of another politician who threatens Caseyn with the situation. And well, that led to telling Susan to get the hell out of his life, threatening her pretty good.

Meanwhile, when the house gets a call of an underground fire, the kids live there and rescue them. Stella recused one, who happened in the back, and had to detour out of there. She talks to the kid and leaves him with Dawson as she returns to get his backpack, but by the time she returns, the kid is back at 51; she checks through the kid's backpack and finds comics, an ID, and even medicine for Hep. C. She goes to Antonio for help, and when he returns with information, let's say it's not good and that she should find the kid before CPD gets a hold of him. She goes to Bowden for help and pulls off probably a cheap shot, but in the, after waiting for the kid and bringing him back, a deal from Goodwin and Jefferies, everything again.

Also to note: Severide learns about how a gooreasonablerson, his new "friend," is when it comes to being such a high social media star after a lady was found OD and he dropped her off on the bench at Med. Britt and Antonio's relationship sparks even more, and she makes the first and last move to get the ball going. At the beginning of the episode, we learn that Jimmy has been moved to a new hospital for special treatment, as he has a long recovery.

"Nobody Else is Dying Today"

In this type of story, Casey tries to save two people from an acid spill, while Dawson is angry not only at Casey but also at a home care provider. And Ogoes to space?

Given that this is a Casey stand-alone episode, like what Severide had in season 2, it has to be one of the most on-the-edge-of-your-seat episodes of the fall season.

Casey and Dawson had a heated moment when it came to watching Louie, even though Casey had to have a warehouse and play golf with several influential people. With one look, he can cancel but goes to inspect the warehouse. As he meets with the owner, an accident occurs, and a spill of sulfuric acid. He pulls the driver out and into another room, where the guy's daughter is i

They wait for help, but when Casey looks around, he sees that the owner must have returned to get rid of papers and got caught in the fumes. So now Casey must try to get into the next room and make the call, but with one option turned to another, and the last one came when he had to break through the brick wall and create a hole big enough for the driver's daughter to get out and call for help.

Meanwhile, Dawson, who's made at Casey, deals with a home care service when a patient who fell denies going to the hospital, saying that it's her refuseth refuse service. But when I came to the next call, the patient had a few cuts, and Dawson decided to take her to Med, but she wanted to go to a hospital that's 10 minutes away as Med is shorter. Dawson went against her orders and took her to Med.

Does anyone know of Otis going to space? Sounds like something Ernest would do. But eating astronaut food and training appeared impossible until we learned it was a joke from Cruz. Otis knew it was a joke when he gave him a thing of cricket protein powder, which put him into Cruz's drink.

Dawson gets worried about Casey afterhdoesn'tn't pick Louie up. But by the time Sher and Britt were about to head out, they got a call, and it was to the warehouse that Casey was at. Things got out of control when the electricity was sparking all over. The squad gets in there but can't do anything til the power is shut off. The Truck gets to the power and shuts it off, but the main line has to be pulled off. After that, Casey and the driver were saved,d and Dawson and he had a moment when they saw the driver and his daughter happy and laughing.

Thoughts:

"Scorched Earth" was a good, average episode that probably won't be remembered again, but one that you can enjoy and move on. Casey and Dawson's story was good, but the one moment that stood out in that storyline was when Casey threatened Susan to get out of their lives; just the look and the tension were enough to believe he could do what he said he would. And not to mention Stella, which goes a d episode for her to stand alone and do something she believes in doing. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

"Nobody Else is Dying Today" is the show's best on-the-seate episode in a while. We finally see Casey doing something independently, and it stands out. I think not only did you give Spencer a no excellent performance, but also his knife. The way he handles that knife in this episode makes me laugh at times when he pops it out and uses it. Overall, I give this episode 9/10.

Actress Exits Chicago Justice

When Chicago Justice premieres in midseason the team of lawyers will be slightly different from what we seen.

It was announced on Thursday that Nazneen Contractor, who played ASA Dawn Patel in the backdoor pilot on Chicago PD, has left the series.

Contractor won't be out of work for long as the actress has joined an upcoming CBS drama Ransom, from executive producer Frank Spotnitz.

This isn't the first time that the Windy Cit franchise has experienced casting changes. The Walking Dead alumna Laurie Holden apperared in the backdoor pilot for Chicago Med but left last July due to family reasons. And not to mention Scott Eastwood, Tania Raymonde, KElly Blatz and Melissa Sagemiller were originally to star in PD.

The Justice cast features Phillip Winchester (The Player), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Joelle Carter (Justified), and newcomer Ryan-James Hatanaka.

Chicago Justice premieres midseason of the 2016-2017 season.

A Split City: Chicago PD "Justice"

This week's episode of Chicago PD is the backdrop pilot to the next spin-off series in the Chicago series, Chicago Justice. And this case that brings in the PD and Justice together is a case that's too far familiar that we've see almost everyday.

As we jump in, Burgess and Roman make a stop and talk about their relationship as a coupe, after the events of last week's episode. A mysterious person wearing a hoodie walks towards the squad car and starts shooting at Burgess and Roman.

Scared and emotional, Burgess gets out and chases the suspect but after dogging a couple of shots from the suspect, she runs around the corner of the building and sees someone in the hoodie walking pass a car. She yells at him and he runs but not long enough she shoots him and arrested him.

The Intelligence unit gets there and talks with Burgess through the events that had happen. Al tells her that they couldn't find the gun anywhere and with that in mind everyone gets worried and even further that the person that is prosecuting the case is the man who put Hank Voight in jail, Peter Stone (Phillip Winchester).

Stone and his team plan their own investigation. They interviewed the suspect that made a case that Burgess shot the wrong guy and that it's just another wrongful shooting from a cop.

The team interviews the suspect's girlfriend and coworker. The coworker gives them some idea that the suspect had it in for cops. Later, back at the station, Ruzek finds a photo of the suspect in his girlfriend's Instagram page holding a gun. And soon a phone call comes in from a witness that he had video of the suspect throwing the gun in the river. This seems to be the perfect evidence to find him guilty but Stone and his boss DA Mark Jefferies (Carl Weathers) want the motive so the case can really stick.

When at trail things don't look well for the prosecution. Even Burgess testify and that wasn't easy as a viewer and a fan. She's gone through a lot from being removed from duty to even having to confront her relationship with Roman. And that scene when Platt tells her that she's proud of her just got me in tears. Even the walk towards the court was hard enough to watch as she was walked with the Intelligence Unit with Voight by her side.

Everything that Stone throws out there always seems to be taken away from the defendant. But after the first day of trail, Stone and the tea get somethings that will give the suspect's motive. The suspect lost an uncle that was in prison because of confrontation with a racist cop that Platt worked with. He wanted to seek revenge on the cops.

As the decision went to the jury, the defendant's attorney wanted to make a deal but Stone doesn't. Until he had a talk with Jefferies and even after three days of the jury still deciding, it was best to make the deal before there might be chaos. Stone agrees but wants to talk with Roman and Burgess about it and they agreed on a deal.

This was such a great backdoor pilot of another Chicago series. Winchester and Weathers shown a great performance. These two characters have a very good prospective of justice and the first face off between Voight and Stone was chillingly awesome.

And let's not forget, Marina Sqerciati, who gave her best performance by far in this episode. From the moment the episode begins to the end, my emotions were going on a roller-coaster ride. The writing was brillant and the cast too. I'm really looking forward to Chicago Justice, whether it will be picked up for series.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch Chicago PD Wednesday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

UPDATE: NBC has announced on Thursday that Chicago Justice has got a series pick up.
