A.P. Bio Renewed for Season 3; Set for NBCUniversal Streaming Service

Just when you thought school was out for real, think again! A.P. Bio has been brought back from the dead for renewal for season three, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

But that's not all, the third season will be showing on the upcoming NBCUniversal streaming service.

The series showrunner and creator Mike O'Brien said in a statement, "I'm so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the fans. The cast and I are thrilled that we get to make more, and I'm excited to work with the NBCU Streaming platform."

A.P. Bio stars Glenn Howerton as the embittered college professor Jack Griffin, who was forced to teach high school biology after losing out on his dream job. Patton Oswalt co-stars as the school principal Ralph Durbin, with Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn and Jean Villepique playing Jack's fellow teachers.

Season two's run this spring had an average of 1.9 million total viewers and just under 0.5 in the demo rating, which was a 30 percent drop from its freshman run. Ranking second to last in the demo beating out Abby's, which also got canceled.

The revived comedy has become the first original scripted comedy set to air on the NBCUniversal's streaming service, which is slated to launch next year with a library of hits like The Office and more, much, much more.

I'm pretty excited about the news. Just before the show was waiting on its fate, I really thought that they should not only renew it but adding it to their streaming service. And the best part of the renewal is we get to see more Paula Pell.

NBC Renews A.P. Bio & Loads Up on New Comedies

Image result for NBC AP Bio

Well, it looks like we're in for a second helping of Mr. Griffin's non-learning learning of biology.

It was announced Tuesday by TVLine that NBC has renewed A.P. Bio for a second season. The Howerton (It's Always Sunny i Philadelphia) stars as sweater-loving philosoph professor Jacck Griffin, who's reduced to teaching a high school biology after losing out on his dream job. It also co-stars Patton Oswalt as weak-willed principal Ralph Durbib, along with Lric Lewis Mary Sohn and Jean Villepique as Jack's fellow teachers.

Created and executive produced by Mike O'Brien (SNL) and executive produced also by Seth Meyers (Late Night) and Lorne Michaels (SNL).

A.P. Bio premiered in February with a sneak preview, then got a special ratings boosted showcase following the closing of the Winter Olympics. Last week's season finale pulled just 2.1 million total viewers with a 0.6 demo rating, but the overall numbers were probably enough for NBC to order a second season. The network says that A.P. Bio has "one of the most highly educated audiences" on broadcast TV, ranking third among adults 18-49 with four or more years in college. So sees kids, school really does matter.

Also on Tuesday, NBC has ordered to series two new comedies: Amy Poehler EP'd "I Feel Bad" and "Abby's."

The single camera I Feel Bad stars Sarayu Blue (No Tomorrow) as Emet, a most imperfect mom, boss, wife, friend and daughter. The logline says "She feels bad when she has a sexy dream about someone other than her husbad (played by Paul Adelstein), or when she pretends not to know her kids when they misbehave in pubic, or when she uses her staff to help solve personal problems. But that's OD, right? Nobody can have it all and it perfectly."

The multi-cam Abby's, stars Natalie Morales (Parks and Recreation, The Grinder and Powerless) as the titular owner of "the best bar in San Diego, home to good prices, great company and of course, Abby. This unlicensed, makeshift bar nestled in her backyard is the opposite of everything annoying about today's party scene. There are rules at Abby's: no cell phones- that een to "look something up"- and earning a seat at the bar takes time and losing a challenge means drinking a lime, sugary, "not-beer" drink. As the oddball cast of regulars (which includes Neil Flynn from The Middle) will tell you, hanging out at Abby's is a coveted honor. But once you're in, you're family. Josh Malmuth (New Girl) is the showrunner/writer/EP.

The two new comedies have joined the three new dramas, New Amsterdam, The Enemy Within and The Village on NBC's roster for the 2018-2019 TV season. You can catch the full lineup when it is unveiled at the NBC's upfront presentation on Monday.

"Okay" This Is Us "The Car"

Image result for This Is Us The Car

With the Super Bowl episode being such a tragic event, the episode is a remembrance of the man from the view of the family car.

"The Car" was a powerful eulogy of who Jack Pearson was as a father and a husband. It just had enough balance of emotion, inspiration, and humor to the previous episode. You see Rebecca and the kids still dealing with the loss but also remembering their father in bits and pieces in time that starts with buying the car and leads to that final weekend. With a bit of help from Dr. K, doing his wise man thing, reminding Rebecca that she's just as strong as Jack and letting her know how much he was scared, too.

After her talk with Dr. K, she takes the kids and Jack's ashes to Jack's favorite tree, which also holds a deep place for Rebecca. She tells Kevin, Kate, and Randall that they should live and not have to worry about who's the man or whose fault it is that leads Jack back into the fire. But the one thing that leaves with a powerful meaning is that Jack was a man who could see into the future, which Rebecca talks about before pouring some of his ashes by the tree.

In the last scene, Jack tells the car dealer he doesn't want to buy a used car. Still, the station wagon means he doesn't have much money to pay for it. Still, all he wants is for his family to be okay, and it ends with Rebecca driving the kids to a Bruce Springsteen concert that Jack bought a couple of weeks ago for them to go and also help her with her fear of driving through the bridge that we see at the beginning she fears.

The writing and the performance of this episode could not be any better. There was depth, and there were well-developed characters, mainly Rebecca, who we see grow a lot. Mandy Moore should be considered for an Emmy role, not to mention Milo Ventimiglia as well. The one scene that stood out was when Dr. K visited and talked with Rebecca, followed by the scene where she and the kids talk about Jack at his favorite tree spot. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch This Is Us on Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.

Leap into Faith: The Good Place "Chapter 22: Leap to Faith"

Image result for The Good Place Leap to Faith

Just when you thought that things could go wrong, it goes so so right.

Picking up from the cliffhanger from the previous episode, Shawn meets with Michael. Just when things start to intense, you would think that it's probably that Shawn figured out what Michael was doing, but turns out that he still thinks that phase two is a success. And gives Michael a promotion for his success.

Soon, Michael summons Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason and tells them (once again) that they're in he bad place in front of Shawn and a metal handcuffed Janet, who's drunk from the metal. Eleanor and the gang are pretty confused thinking that Michael went behind their backs but Eleanor thinks that Michael is still on their side.

With the town celebrating, Michael gives Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason a big celebrity roast, making fun of them one person at a time, and then throwing the biggest trash party in town, because it was going to be no more after. Soon, Vicky, who's been trying to get Michael to tell Shawn that she gets credit for the success, sees Michael talking into Janet's ear and tries to get Janet to tell her what he told her, not to mention trying to take the cuffs off her.

As soon as morning rise and the last song was to be played, Michael and Shawn sees that the gang is leaving on the train to the middle place. Upset about it, Shawn gets everyone on the train, that includes a troubled cocooned Vicky, who admitted that she tries to take the cuffs off Janet. When Michael gets Bad Janet to scan the place for the mortals, no one was found and soon the trains leaves.

As the train leaves, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, Jason and Janet were all underneath the train. Eleanor looks at Michael and gives one of the shocking most heartwarming moments of the episode as he was really with them. After a hug-fest, Eleanor explained how they, mostly her, figured out the clues that Michael left for them from mentioning Kierkegaard to Derek Borties, who's actual name is Blake Borites of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jason's favorite QB, as signs for them to do like get Derek to drive the train to Mindy St. Clair making Shawn and them feel that they left.

This is the genius of what The Good Place is all about with great creative writing and strong characters that really enjoying but also gives you those twist and turns of is this happening. "Leap To Faith" might be the best episode so far this season, as this season has been a home run. Ted Danson, once again, shines in this episode playing Michael that you really don't know if he actually turns on Eleanor and the gang or not until the very end. I very much enjoyed this episode a lot. Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

You can catch The Good Place Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

New Janet or Old Janet?/Uh Oh!: The Good Place "Chapter 20: Janet and Michael"/"Chapter 21: Derek"

Image result for The Good Place "Janet and Michael"

"Chapter 20: Janet and Michael"

As Michael figures out why Janet is glitching, we learn how both Michael and Janet first met.

"Janet and Michael" might be one of the most humorist and emotional episode of the season as we learn about Michael and Janet's past while Michael figures out what is wrong with Janet and why she's glitching.

Michael puts it all together that Janet's glitches are caused from lying, mostly about her feelings for Jason. Janet tells Michael the only way to fix it was to have her self-destruct. Michael tries but comes up with excuses for doing so and doesn't. But Michael gives one of the best heartfelt moments as he tells Janet that he wouldn't do it because she's his friend.

Michael thinks of another way, this time sending Janet to Eleanor for her help. Eleanor advises Janet on a rebound relationship and turns out Janet made her own boyfriend, Derek, who happens to be not in a good mental state and gets easily distracted.

"Janet and Michael" was an excellent episode with such wit and emotions. Both Janet and Michael both shown a lot of character growth, mostly Michael in this episode, as he opens up his true feels for Janet as a friend. The writing of this episode was solid along with the performances from Danson and Carden. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Chapter 21: "Derek"

In the fall finale, Michael tries to fix the Janet and Derek issue, but comes with another surprise.

After meeting Derek, Michael gets Tahani and Jason away on a nice vacation, but later decides to get married. When news comes from Janet about the wedding to Michael, Eleanor and Chidi, they try to stop it and get Derek and Jason mad at each other.

After things were resolved, Janet takes care of Derek and is gone. Later, Eleanor, who still has the tape of her and Chidi sleeping together, finally decides to tell Chidi about it, but he response that he doesn't love her in this iteration.

But after another warming moment for Michael, learning that he's becoming a human being from Eleanor, he gets a surprise visit from Shawn.

"Derek" was another really strong episode. Great performance from the cast and even the writing was so strong and witty and not to mention leaving with a nice surprise visit from Shawn. Overall, I give this episode a 8.5/10.

You can catch The Good Place Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

New episodes returns Thursday, Jan. 4th at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

A Freight Train of Emotions: The Blacklist "Ian Garvey (No. 13)" Fall Finale

The fall finale of The Blacklist wasn't at any point a disappointment as it delivered a finale that will have everyone talking about through the hiatus.

With Tom Keen no where to be found, Liz is worried after trying to call him a lot. They soon pick up clues to where Tom has been around from the motel to the gas station. Liz thinks that Tom is trying to kind Nick's killer.

While Liz is searching for Tom, Tom, who happened to open the flood gates of trouble, is being held by Ina Garvery in the woods. Ian tries to make Tom talk about the suitcase but won't speak of it, not even when both Pete and his girlfriend's dead bodies in the wood clipper. Ian makes Tom call Red and telling where to meet, unaware that he and Dembe are a couple of minutes away but plays to their plan.

With Ian gone to meet with Red, Tom escapes along with the suitcase and runs into the woods, guns a blazing. As it looked like things were coming to an end, Tom runs into a car that has Red and Dembe and gets in even after getting shot in the back. The three rushed off.

Now with Tom being with Red, you know there's going to be some father-in-law/son-in-law bonding time happening here. As they find shelter for the moment, Tom and Red talk about not only the suitcase but the whole reason why Tom got the job to look after Liz and we see flashbacks of Tom getting the information about Liz and only interact but never to fall in love. Well, love is a powerful thing.

Soon Ian and his men get to the house that Red, Tom and Dembe are at, the three hide til when Tom's blood drips down from the vent. Red and tom get out but not without leaving a bit of a warm getaway package for Ian, burning their vehicles. As they stopped at the gas station, Tom asked again about what's in the suitcase, Red talks about how he heard about him and Liz getting married (the first time) and talked about how mad he was but know how Tom makes her happy.

After their talk, Tom makes a getaway with the bones and DNA results. He gets to the Union Station and looks at the results with an expression that quickly makes him call Liz to tell her to meet him at home alone (having the babysitter take Agnus somewhere safe). Red gets word about Liz gone MIA and gets word that the last call came from the train station. He makes a call to Tom at the station and tells him that he doesn't have to do this, but Tom won't stop.

As Liz gets home, she's with worried and excitement but that goes away when she sees him tied up and beaten. That's where Ian and his group surround them. Liz of course, punches Ian in the face. Ian makes Tom pay for what he had done, by stabbing him in the stomach. And again when he asked Tom to call Red but wouldn't. Liz gets punched and falls to the floor where she suffers a severe head injury. There Ian lets his guys clean the place up and to kill both Tom and Liz while playing "Southern Cross" playing in the background. But Tom grabs the knife that was left from Ian and free himself and goes after the guys and then Red and Demeb get there with their guns going off blazing. And when Red gets to Tom, he doesn't kill him, but kills the other guy behind him on the floor.

With Tom and Liz severely injured, Red and Dembe rush them to the hospital with the help of Cooper and the FBI escorting them there. Just before they get to the hospital, Tom and Liz try to tell one another to stay alive and make sure that Agnus remembers her. As the rush in the ER, both in the same room, Liz is put on a tube and gets her head drilled of fear of a brain bleed while they try to get Tom's heart going and fixing up his wounds, but in the end....Tom dies.

We jump to with Red reading off a lovely verse from the bible and gets shocked when Liz wakes up. She asked how long she's been under and Red informs her that it's been 10 months and the next question was about Tom and he tells her that he'd died. And we see Tom's body in the morgue with Cooper as witness being put in the cooler in spite that he is really gone.

This episode was a freight train of emotions and such memorable moments that it still as I'm writing this had me choking up. I had a feeling Tom was going die, he did open the flood gates to trouble, but did it for the all the right reasons, love and the truth for Liz. I thought that performance between Spader and Eggold was solid and special watching these two in their character moments of the past and present. Even Jonny Coyne's performance of Ian Garvey was thrilling as well. Boone's Liz carries a lot of the emotional scenes through part of the episode til it was between Liz and Tom at the end. The writing was so strong, the directing captured so many great moments from the character's prospective. Even the song choices were should I say memorable and yet very emotional as well.

As for what will happen in the second half of the season, I think Liz is going to probably have a tough time getting back to business. Hell, I can't wait to see how Ian is going to use the bones and DNA results against Red. I do think and I'm saying that I think that maybe those bones are those of Liz's mother.

Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10.

You can catch The Blacklist when it returns Wednesday, January 3rd at 8/7c on NBC.

The Night Shift "Resurgence" Season Finale

Last night's season finale of The Night Shift delevered not only thrilling and intense moments but moments that seem that it was wrapped with a great big bow.

With a shooting taking place at a nearby college, TC, Jordan Drew and Amria head out and gets into a deadly sitauation with a shooter that hated the speaker that was speaking at the graduation. It gave such a thrilling story when Jordan and Amria get caught by one of the shooters after they thought she was one of the cops. Not to mention when TC and Drew along with one of their fellow combat program trainee gets inbetween a sticky situation when both shooters were coming in the room.

Meanwhile, with the combat program in process, Scott gets word from Paul's father that he doesn't want this program at all and want to shut it down. But Scott goes above and beyond to tell Paul's father that he knows that this will be great for SAMH. After a well reciveced approval, it looks like SAMH will be helping a big part of the Troops in training.

With things changing, Shannon doesn't really enjoy what she's been seeing and doesn't want to be part of the new program. She informs Jordan that she applyed back to her old resident job, but Jordan gives her the opition to go for six months and see if she wants to come back to SAMH. Not to mention, Paul is having that same feeling but this time he wants to help and lend his hands. He goes to TC and tells him strongly that he wants to do this and TC comes through and gives his spot with Amria in Syra.

The final moments of the episode gave a nice bow tie to the season. During Kenny and Bella's engagment party, Jordan gives an emotional speech about how two people can become one that'll whether anything it comes in front of them no matter where you are together or half way around the world. And during that speech we see what the future holds with our characters, Paul and Amria helps rescue people in Syra, Drew gets hurt in Ranger training, Kenny becomes Paul's father right hand man. But the one ending shows Jordan and Scott about to get the trainees ready and on the bus and TC shows up. He tells Jordan that he's staying in San Antonio.

"Resurgences" was an amazing season finale that gave us thrills, drives and moments of why we love this show so much. Even thought I'm hoping for a season five, this episode does give a satisfying series finale. The writing was strong and moving at times. The cast did such a great in equal part of their roles. The one thing I'm happy is that TC and Jordan are together working again. I feel that's a sign of improvement for the two of them. Overall, I give this episode a 9.5/10 and the season a 9/10.

You can catch The Night Shift Seasons 1-3 on Netflix and NBC.com.

The Night Shift "Land of the Free"

This week's episode of The Night Shift was action packed, dramatic and even given a second chances. When TC and Jordan are accompanying a SWAT team on a raid, they wind up with a pill of emergency room full of sickend immigrants, an injured ICE officer and one that has murderous intentions.

In the line of a standoff with Romano, a criminal who's about to get a deal withthe Feds, tries to bust out of immigration prison but intead gets taken down with bullets and crashes the cop car that he was taken.

Along with him heading to the hospital, TC looks at an ICE officer that was attacked from the same guy but soon gets pulled when a kid, Angel, ask for his help in need as his mother was having a hard time breathing. This lead to the first standoff with the head ICE officer and TC as he wants TC to move on but TC decides to not only take the mother and son, but the entire prison of immigrants.

Of course, this upsets Scott for only a couple of seconds, but thought it was the best thing to do. Scott and Shannon takes Angel and his mother and finds out that Angel's mother has meninigitis, but Angel is healthy. That changed when Angel takes matter in his own hands because he doesn't want to leave without his mother and overdoses on pills from another patient.

Shannon and Scott treats Angel and got the drugs out before they would take effect and told him later that he needed to trust them that they are not going to go until his mother is healthy. More with Angel and his mother to come as it has a touching ending.

Paul and Drew treats the ICE officer that got stabbed a couple of times from Romano. The Officer and Paul didn't get along in their first impression after saying "those people" in a conversation. Paul learns about the officer's having one kidney and losing the other when he was 12 years old. The officer tells Paul about the things he had to do as a ICE officer and arrested a child and mother that really didn't deserved and got to meet the kid while moving to another room. After the officers surgery, Angel comes in and ask him why he arrested him and his mother and soon Shannon told Angel that an unknown officer made a call and dismiss the arrest and he and his mother are free.

Meanwhile, the main event was Romano and Jordan and TC as during a CT scan, Romano escapes and runs in the events. SWAT comes in and tries to find him, Rene goes after him and gets shot leaving TC to do what TC does best, get in there, move Rene out and take down Romano. Talk about a different take of Die Hard I would think. After a couple of seconds of fighting, the vents collapse and Romano is taken away and TC is taken to get treated by Jordan.

Along with that going on, Kenny asked Paul if he could have his blessing to marry his sister, even though she said yes. And it looks like we might have seen the last of Cain, so far as he calls Jordan to tell her that he quit. This would have to do with someone looking for him and saw him in a news report a couple of weeks ago. He runs off but gets picked up by a cop that turns out to be helping the guy that's looking for Cain and drives off.

And the Combat Training Program at SAMM goes well, even without Syd there because of family reasons. So TC has Amira come, even after she had arrrived in town and offer her the spot. But one thing is for sure that it ended with a couple of surprises: 1. Amira worked for the CIA and 2. the program will be up and running next week instead of in 90 days.

I thought "Land of the Free" was a real good episode that not only dived in the issuses of immigration, but also that there are second chances when a wrong had been done. I thought the Angel and the officer story was really good and had me feeling heartfelt and fuzzy at the end. And of course, TC and Romano battling it out was just another on my feet thrills. Even though that TC and Amria are a thing, I still have hope with TC and Jordan. Next week's episode is the season finale (I hope!) and it looks like someone is coming in that we are going to hope pulls through.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch the seaosn finale of The Night Shift this Thursday at 10/9c on NBC.

Hackers and Shcoker: The Night Shift "R3BOOT"

After battling my emergency situation last Thursday, I finally got a chance to watch last week's episode of The Night Shift and it not only delivers on it's on the edge thrill but there were a few bombshells coming to out hero characters.

The hopsital of SAM geta hacked and this time it seem more serious than the previous kind that other medical drama has done. With no machines the doctors are going back to the old school way of saving lives from treating a diebatic with an alcer to a kid dealing with a brian bleed and even an officer caught in an explosion during a take down of a criminal.

With a bad evulation from Jordan, Shannon proves that she's a good doctor and tells Jordan about how a friend could write something like that, even if Jordan is her boss. Drew has a job oppuritny at Ranger school and hasn't told his partner yet and when he finally does you can guess that it not any welcoming news even after he tells Drew about  maybe adopting a baby.

Paul finds out about Kenny and his sister have been spending time together and doesn't take it so well. Scott works with Paul's father after he paid the hackers and tells Scott about how he asked for money from other people and doesn't have any to pay them back and might need to close some hospitals.

After a wild night and saving an officer's life, Jordan and TC discuss the future if he'll stay or go back. Jordan tells him an idea of teaching combats at the hospital, after telling her he'll think about it, he gets a call from the doctor that he worked with in Syra and is imformed that she's seprated from her husband and coming to see TC.

This was a really good episode, it not only brough an intense but so good drama between characters. I think this episode would be a beginning point of another change for out characters. There wasn't anyone that really stood out as it everyone did an equal part of actiing. With only tonight and next week, how will this season go out in.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch The Night Shift tonight at 10/9c on NBC.

The Night Shift "Keep the Faith"

If there was one word to discribe this week's episode of The Night Shift, it would have to be honorable. That's the first word that pops into my head after just watching it.

"Keep the Faith" is a special episode of the medical drama that really shows the hearts and souls of those that have and are serviing in the US miltary. The story starts with the funneral of Mac after he died from an attack from a trouble solider in the previous episode.

A protest breaks out into a fight at the funneral, which has a few people coming into the ER with the doctors that along fought against. One that was attacked happens to be someone from Drew's past and it was a sure engaging to watch as this former soilder was running for office. There was a former P.O.W. that cames in with a headwound, asking for the doctors to take out the piece of shrapnel in his head.

There were many emotional moments throughout the episode, mostly watching the P.O.W. soilder dealing with PTSD to a momnet when he was telling Scott, Paul and Shannon about the triadition of how to remember those that lost their lives during a meal.

Another moment was when Drew steps up helps another former soilder photographer on getting a job with the senator, for a free. Her story was emotionally powerful too.

This episode really does carry a massive heart of emotion. It's example of why we should give back to those that protect us the suppor they need. The writing of this episode was so beautifully done and even the performances from the cast and guest stars as well. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch The Night Shift Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

The Night Shift "Burned" Season Finale

In the season finale, everyone is put on the line.

After being trapped in a rapidly wildfire, Scott and Jordan are forced to perform surgery in a farm. Jordan tells Scott that Annie stole the pills. The group gets turned around because of the fire. Mac takes his chance to save them while distracting the fire into another direction and when Scott gets back gets word that Mac has a brain tumor and Jordan knew that Mac had it and wasn't going to make it.

Scott confronts Annie about the pills and tells her that she needs to go back to rehab. But she doesn't want to go but he offers him going with her for support.

Paul's father comes into the hospital and hopefully will get the hospital and the staff won't get fired. But Paul and his father budded heads after a bad judgment on a patient treatment that lands him in surgery. Rick really was going to stick it up to the guy after confronting him about it.

Meanwhile, Drew and Rick go the distance to keep Brianna from her bio father and find some dirt on the guy and soon he drops the custody lawsuit and Drew and Rick takes Brianna home.

TC does what he can to not only get the supplies but to save Syd. He offers the officer to save the his son so he can walk again in exchange to getting the supplies. Syd's condition gotten worse when performing surgery for the boy and TC had to step up and perform.

Paul's father announces that he has bought the hospital, but with good news there's always bad news and the bad news is that Topher gets fired. With Paul about the celebrate on the good news, he hears the news from Topher about firing and takes a huge stand against his dad and walks out along with everyone else, expect for Shannon because she doesn't want to go back home.

Shannon and Paul confess their love for each other and Paul asked Kenny for the money that he gave to him back because of his father's cutting off money from him.

And near the end, it ended with another season finale cliffhanger as TC and a well healthy Syd decides to go their separate ways but soon a bunch of missiles strikes the camp and leaving them hurt and unconscious.

This was a very good finale, kind of closed up chapters and opened up new ones. Overall I give this episode a 8/10 and the season 8.5/10.

The one thing I'm glad is that tonight (June 22 at 10/9c) The Night Sift Season 4 will begin and we get to see what happens next with these such really good characters.. But with any good news there's bad news and the bad news is that Topher won't be back this season.

You can catch the season premiere of The Night Shift tonight at 10/9c on NBC.

Last Chance of Savior: The Night Shift "Trust Issues"/"Emergent"

"Trust Issues"

With TC and Drew in ail, Brianna getting another heart and weird loves comes in different ways. It was one heartwarming, funny episode of The Night Shift.

As TC and Drew watch a game at a local bar, Drew accidental gets into it with a guy that he thought was hitting on his girl. TC steps in and finishes the job, leaving them in jail, while Brianna is about to have her new lung put it.

Everyone wonders where TC and Drew are at, especially Brianna who doesn't want to go until Drew get there. But Paul steps up and tells her how much they all care for her and he'll be with her through the surgery and even lied to her about him coming, but he makes it just as the new lungs are put in.

It could have been a touch and go, but she pulled through and with Drew, Rick and Syd there, Drew tells Brianna that they have a good chance of adopting her.

Meanwhile, TC goes through some self pity and deals with Jessica as she tries to apologies for her actions. But instead, he sees that Syd is putting flyers in the hospital about doing some volunteer work overseas and offers his services.

Love can be a defining word to describe this episode as not only Scott talks to Annie about his kiss with Jordan as well as Jordan had to bring her date to the ER and learning that he's in a four way relationship.

"Trust Issues" was a good episode and had some very good comedic moments from Jordan's date event some light heart moments of Paul telling Brianna that they all care and will be with her in surgery. All in all I give this episode a 7/10.

"Emergent"

As news of the hospital rocks the staff, a fire spreads through San Antonio forest and TC puts everyone on the line with deadly illness.

As a fire breaks out in San Antonio, Paul and Shannon have difference of opinion on a patient that literally puts their relationship in jeopardy. The patient came out good.

Kenny and Topher tries to figure out who has been stealing pain meds from the drug lockup and the one suspect is Annie. Topher not only dealing with this and the hospital, he tries looking into staff's locker room. But after getting a call, things don't look good at all. But Paul tells Topher that his dad was coming to help, maybe be the buyer of the hospital.

Jordan and Scott head out in the field to help with the fire. They're on a rescue mission when someone is hurt and trapped. Jordan finds a bag of drugs in TC's jacket and doesn't tell Scott about it.

And if that wasn't enough to deal with, Drew gets word that Brianna's biological father wants to take his daughter back into his life.  Even though both Drew and Brianna thinks it stinks.

Meanwhile, TC puts everyone in jeopardy after allowing a group of unknown people come into camp and soon an outbreak of typhus is spread, including Syd. When a package of supplies comes, it lands on the other side of the fence and hell breaks loose.

This episode ends on a cliffhanger as Scott, Jordan and the fire rescuers are trapped in the fire and have to  take shelter in the fire tent until it passes. This was a very good episode and intense at times from Paul and Shannon's medical judgement to TC and Syd's situation and even at the end with Scott and Jordan in the last second of the episode with the fire. I think it might be safe to say that maybe Annie was the one who took the pills. Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10.

Terror at Home:The Night Shift "Unexpected"/"Between a Rock and a Hard Place"

"Unexpected"

When working in an ER, you expect the unexpected and this episode was one of those episodes. With a nurse's strike on the hospital, the staff tries to get it together while treating patients but when a bomb goes off everything is put to side and join together as one while unit to get through this ordeal.

"Unexpected" was not only written so good but the visual of the camera on capturing the emotional stake of the aftermath of the explosion. After that the performance from the cast was really good.

Jill Flint puts on another good performance as she finds out that she was the one that caused the bomber to bomb the hospital because she let her live and not die along with her family in a previous episode or time. Not knowing who she was til her name was heard, talking to the suspect and shockingly enough watching the suspect pull out her chest tube and dying.

Wallace Shawn makes an appearance as as Mr Neville, who brings so much humor in the episode making awkward moments for Paul and Shannon.

And Kenny had a very good storyline has he deals with trying to save his athlete in training, who got caught near the explosion but also finds out that she has a tumor in the her lung and also tells Kenny at the end of the episode that she really doesn't like soccer at all.

And with one last moment another shocking news comes to Topher and the hospital as the hospital is being sold to another company.

All in all, this was a very good episode. There were emotions left and right, humor in all the right spots and some really good performances from this ensemble cast. Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

"Between a Rock and a Hard Place"

It's kind of what the title of this episode says.

When TC and Paul arrive at an accident site, they had to pronounced one dead brain but TC saves a teenager who was trapped in a sinkhole and saves him. Paul tries to get the mother's consent about donating her son's organs but after a first couple of times, she finally gives her consent. The lungs from the boy goes to helping Brianna.

Meanwhile, Scott gets a second chance to help a family that he ruined a while back, Malik comes back in the ER from missing his dialysis. The father would not want Scott to take care of his son turns out that he needed help as his aorta was about to burst. After saving malik's dad, Malik tells Scott that he forgives and tells his dad that he needs to move on.

Speaking of moving on, Scott and Jordan share a quick romantic moment that's mostly just the heat of the moment and moved on.

Topher gets word from Jessica that even though it looked like she was trying to help save the hospital but eventually she was working for the buyer who's buying the hospital. For which, not only upsets Topher but breaks up with TC after he found out too.

Even though Drew had such high hopes for the lungs transplant, but it wasn't a good solid match fo Brianna and offers her to stay with him and his husband after she gets out.

"Between a Rock and a Hard Place" was a good episode. The moments that shined were Jordan and Scott dealing with the angry father, Drew and Brianna's high hopes for the lung transplant and Paul and the kid's mother who donated the lungs to another person. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

Great News "The Red Door"/"Celebrity Hacking Scandal"

"The Red Door"

When it comes to Carol and telling them not to do something, she does it anyway.

In this episode, Chuck asks Carol to go to his home and let the cable guy in to do some work and instructs her not to open the red door. Of course, we are all just wondering what is inside that door. Carol tries to do her best; even looking at Portia's hacked emails helped a little until when the cable guy left and shut the door, all of a sudden, the red door opened.

Carol looks in and sees Chuck, but as she talks to him, apparently Chuck loses his head, literally, and she runs screaming. She tells Chuck what didn't happen, but he realizes she opened it and looks. Chuck tells a story about how he was once going to be lead anchor at Nightly News and was such a big shot that he had a wax figure of himself put up (which is what Carol saw), but all things come to an end when he gets a call that he was passed over and they took his wax figure. The only two people who care about their wax figure are Chuck and Scott Baio. Chuck asked Carol to take the wax figure and dump it in the garbage.

In the meantime, Portia informs the staff that her computer was hacked, and everything from photos to emails is shared on the internet. Katie and Greg do their best not to look into it, but they do and read Portia's email saying that Katie and Greg were boning each other. It got into their heads that everyone must think they're a couple, but no one believes it.

One of the funniest scenes came when they try to explain that they're not a couple, but they could be, and Beth tells Greg that she thought he said to her that he had no gentles, for which he defines that he had and still kept saying he has gentles to Katie and she tells him that it's creepy to keep repeating it.

The two show the staff the email, and soon, Portia comes in pretty mad about it.  But she clears that email up, telling everyone that she thinks that Katie and Greg are dull and blames auto-correct for it. Soon, the camera guy runs in, saying that Chuck is on the roof and thinks he might jump. Everyone rushes outside, and Carol wonders and soon discovers the wax figure of Chuck that she placed on the roof. She runs to Chuck and tells him, and they rush up. Soon, Katie., goes up there, and as they talk it out, she tries to move the figure away from the edge, but it falls over and lands in the parking lot. Everyone was relieved and upset.

"The Red Door" was not its best episode, but had some hilarious moments. Watching Katie and Greg try to make a point that even though they are not together, they could be. Also, that scene with Beth telling Greg that he told her he had no gentles was hilarious. Also, just watching Andrea Martin and John Michael Higgins in this episode was funny, too, and draws some excellent chemistry. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

"Celebrity Hacking Scandal"

Who can deliver, and who can not? Carol wants to move up in the news business, while Katie thinks she has the story of the century.

"Celebrity Hacking Scandal" stood out pretty well, with Carol trying to help produce a story for Portia. At the same time, Katie thinks she has the story of the century about the hacking of celebrity photos and other stuff.

When Katie tells Greg about it, he doesn't think she has something, and when Katie investigates why he gives her a hard time on this, she finds out that Greg once had a big scoop on the Loch Ness Monster, but it turns out nothing. But Katie has the source, who turns out to be an 11-year-old who did it, but it all led up to the online game Biscuits Blitz that's very popular.

Speaking of famous, Chuck and Portia fight over each other roles and spaces. Portia gets Chuck to play Biscuits Blitz, who gets addicted because he wants to get in touch with the younger people. But the scene with Chuck and Portia arguing was a hilarious part of the episode.

I enjoyed this episode, mostly watching Higgins and Richie go at it at times, as the two are hilarious. I was watching Greg and Katie go at it again. It is pretty good. I thought the writing was pretty good. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch the season finale of Great News on Tuesday, May 23, at an earlier time, 8/7c before The Voice Finale on NBC.
