CBS Fall 2022 Schedule: SWAT And Ghosts on the Move

On Wednesday morning, CBS became the third network to release its fall 2022 schedule after NBC and ABC had done but not FOX (quite yet). So, what to expect in the new schedule?

SWAT is returning to its Friday leadoff spot, where it will kick off the new firefighter drama, Fire Country (starring SEAL Team's Max Thieriot). NCIS: Los Angeles will, in turn, move an hour later on Sundays, which will make way for the new cop drama, East New York.

The newest reality series, The Real Love Boat, will close out Wednesday night, anchored by the new seasons of Survivor and The Amazing Race.

And Thursdays look to be a bit different, with only two Thursday sitcoms now, Young Sheldon and Ghosts (moving a half-hour earlier), which will kick off into the freshman dramedy So Help Me Todd (Starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin). While CSI: Vegas' second season will close out the night.

Here's a look at the schedule:

MIDSEASON:

CANCELLED:

B Positive (ending airing May 26), How We Roll, Magnum PI, United States of Al, Good Sam

CBS made some changes and added more new shows to its fall schedule compared to NBC (two new shows) and ABC (three new shows). CBS has gone back to two comedies and two dramas for their Thursday night lineup (something they haven't done since the 2012-2013 season).

Fire Country and East New York look promising from the trailers, but I still have some doubts about So Help Me Todd.

The schedule looks solid, and I look forward to the new seasons of CBS' Tuesday night and Thursday night. I wonder if they will kick off SEAL Team's new season by airing on CBS for a couple of weeks and airing the rest on Paramount+ because I thought that was a brilliant move to kick off the newly rebranded streaming service.

NBC 2022 Fall Schedule: La Brea Takes This Is Us Time slot, The Blacklist Moved to Midseason

On Monday, NBC released their 2022 fall schedule as May Upfronts begin this week. The 2021-2022 top-rated freshman series, La Brea, will take over the Tuesdays at 9pm timeslot (which has been the home of This Is Us for the past six years).

The most significant buzz for any new NBC series, the Quantum Leap reboot starring Raymond Lee, has landed the network's most prominent real estate, Mondays at 10/9c leading out of The Voice. While the Night Court revival, which stars John Larroquette and Big Bang Theory alum Melissa Rauch, and has been ordered to series back in September, won't make its debut until midseason.

Meanwhile, Young Rock will be moving to Fridays for its third season, starting in Movember, where it will be paired with the new George Lopez sitcom, Lopez vs. Lopez. This will make The Blacklist's 10th season premiere held back to midseason.

Here's a look at the schedule:

MONDAY:

8/7c The Voice

10/9c Quantum Leap

TUESDAY

8/7c The Voice

9/8c La Brea

10/9c New Amsterdam (final season)

SUNDAY

MIDSEASON:

The Blacklist, American Auto, Grand Crew, Night Court (NEW). The Wheel (NEW), Million Dollar Island (NEW), That's My Jame, The Wall, and Dick Wolf's LA Fire and Rescue (NEW Reality Series about the LAFD).

TBD on the fate of the pilots for Blank Slate, Found, Irrational, Unbroken, and the untitled drama from Mike Daniels.

CANCELLED:

The Endgame, Kenan, Mr. Mayor, Ordinary Joe

While NBC has made some changes, mainly bringing back comedy in late fall. But I do wish that network could have renewed Mr. Mayor.

We'll see how La Brea can be when moving to Tuesdays and wonder if it will keep close to what the ratings would be in the first season.

And what the heck happened with some of the competition shows like AGT Extreme or Family Game Night? Was it renewed or put on hold until something goes wrong with the new series?

Overall, this first look fall schedule looks good. I look forward to seeing what the reboot of Quantum Leap will bring.

CBS 2021 Fall Schedule: FBI Tuesdays; NCIS Moves to Mondays

On Wednesday, CBS becomes the third broadcast network to announced their fall 2021 schedule and it looks like a big move is coming for NCIS.

After 18 years as CBS's Tuesday night lead-off, NCIS will be relocating to Mondays at 9pm, where it will lead into new spinoff NCIS: Hawai'i. The move allows CBS to rebrand Tuesday nights as an all FBI night. This will give the #OneChicago and Law & Order creator Dick Wolf three nights of primetime next season.

As for CBS's Monday night shake-up, Bull will be relocating to Thursdays at 10 pm. While The CSI revival will close out CBS' reality dominated Wednesdays at 10pm and the long-delayed second season of Blood and Treasure has been delayed until 2022.

SEAL Team will air its first four Season 5 episodes on Sundays at 10pm before jumping to CBS sibling streaming outlet, Paramount+. Meanwhile the former Wednesday occupants S.W.A.T. will then take over that Sunday slot following a brief run on Fridays at 8pm (the former MacGyver's timeslot will eventually be filled with an unscripted series soon to be announced).

Here's a look at the fall schedule:

CANCELLED:
All Rise, MacGyver, Mom, NCIS: New Orleans, The Unicorn.
SIDE NOTE: Evil and most likely Clarice will be airing new episodes on Paramount+.

I'm liking the new moves that CBS has made for this fall. I'm so looking forward to Tuesday nights with the FBI fam! Monday nights look good with NCIS and NCIS Hawai'i. Bull moving to Thursdays isn't that bad, it's been a nice rating sample for the network on Monday nights.

On Monday, Fox becomes the second broadcasting network to released their 2021-2022 fall schedule. There are a few changes with The Big Leap taking Monday nights after 9-1-1 (with 9-1-1 Lonestar set for Midseason) and Lee Daniels' new series taking on Prodigal Son's Tuesday slot.

Expect to see both 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lonestar to be separated this fall as Lonestar will premiere in midseason. The Big Leap, the Scott Foley-fronted ance dramedy, will take over Lonestar's timeslot.

Lee Daniel's new soapy drama, Out Kind of People, starring Yaya DaCosta (Chicago Med) and Morris Chestnut (The Resident), will take over the Tuesday night at 9/8c slot that was currently occupied by the just canceled Prodigal Son.

NBC 2021-2022 Fall Schedule: This Is Us get 2022 Premiere, All Law & Order Thursday, Brooklyn Nine-Nine Gets After Olympic Premiere

On Friday, NBC was the first broadcast network to unveil its 2021-2022 game plan and there's something funny about it. There's no sitcom for the first time(?) on the network's fall schedule. But there's a resurgent of Law and Order.

The fall schedule will have a big Law& Order Thursday with Law & Order: For the Defense will kick off at 8pm, followed by SVU and Organized Crime. Dick Wolf now owns almost 30 percent of NBC's schedule!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine's 10-episode final season will premiere this summer following the summer Olympics.

The Voice will only air one cycle next season, in the fall.

This Is Us's final season will premiere at midseason, but the delay contains a silver lining: All 18 episodes will air uninterrupted.

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and Good Girls are MIA as the networks are still deciding and will make an announcement in the coming weeks.

Here's the Fall Schedule:

MONDAY:

8/7c The Voice

10/9c Ordinary Joe (NEW)

TUESDAY

8/7c The Voice

9/8c La Brea (NEW)

10/9c New Amsterdam

WEDNESDAY

8/7c Chicago Med

9/8c Chicago FIre

10/9c Chicago PD

THURSDAY

8/7c Law & Order: For the Defense (NEW)

9/8c Law & Order SVU

10/9c Law & Order: Organized Crime

FRIDAY

8/7c The Blacklist

9/8c Dateline NBC

SATURDAY:

8/7c Drama Encores

9/8c Dateline Saturday night Mystery

10/9c SNL Encores

SUNDAY

7/6c Football Night in America

8/7c Sunday Night Football

Midseason: AGT: Extreme, American Auto, America Song Contest, Grand Crew, Kenan, Mr. Mayo, The Thing About Pam, This Is Us, Young Rock.

The fall schedule looks pretty good with the addition of For the Defense making Thursday night Law & Order night. It's kind of strange that there are no comedies in the fall. This Is Us final season holding back until midseason is a smart move and Brooklyn Nine-Nine gets the after Olympic premiere for its final season is another one too.

I wonder if with AGT Extreme holding for midseason, will it take place of the second cycle of The Voice? That's something to see and it looks like they're going to take what American Idol has done for the past 20 years.

NBC Fall Schedule; This Is Us and #OneChicago Returns in the Fall

And the final piece of the fall scheduling puzzle has been put into place.

After CBS and ABC announced their fall scheduling plans, NBC has released their own Fall TV premiere plan and it does include the return dates for This Is Us, #OneChicago, and Superstore.

Also included for the fall are The Voice, Law & Order: SVU, and The Blacklist. Along with new socially distanced comedy Connecting and the Jane Lynch-hosted Weakest Link.

Meanwhile, other returning shows will be held back after 2021 that includes Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Manifest, and New Amsterdam.

Here's a look at the NBC Fall Schedule:

Tuesday, September 1
10/9c Transplant (acquired Canadian series)

Monday, September 7
8/7c American Ninja Warrior

Thursday, September 10
8:20/7:20c Sunday Nighy Football season premiere

Sunday, September 13
8:20/7:20c Sunday Night Football (time slot premiere)

Friday, September 25
10/9c Dateline NBC

Monday, September 28
10/9c Weakest Link

Thursday, October 1
8:30/7:30c Connecting... (series premiere)

Tuesday, October 6
8/7c Ellen's Game of Games

Tuesday, October 13
9/8c Ellen's Game of Games (time slot premiere)

8/7c The Voice (two-hour premiere)

Tuesday, October 20
8/7c The Voice (two-hour Tuesday premiere)

Thursday, October 22
8/7c Superstore (season premiere)

Tuesday, November 10
9/8c This Is Us (Two-hour season premiere)

Wednesday, November 11
8/7c Chicago Med
9/8c Chicago Fire
10/9c Chicago PD

Thursday, November 12
9/8c Law & Oder SVU

Friday, November 13
8/7c The Blacklist

Held for Midseason:
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Good Girls, Kenan, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Making It, Manifest, MR. Mayor, New Amsterdam, Small Fortune, That's My Jam, True Story, Who Do You Think You Are?, Young Rock, and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.

I'm finally happy to learn when some of these shows will set their season premiere dates. While NBC's fall schedule seems to the lineup with what CBS, it looks like this fall season will start out light with not a whole lot to take in. I can dig it.

ABC Launches Fall Season with Reality Programs

Dancing With the Stars' Sets Season 29 Premiere Date at ABC — 'DWTS' | TVLine

Looks like ABC is filling in their fall slate with unscripted programming.

Looks like ABC is taking their scripted programs and pushing them to late fall and placing them with a heavily asterisked dose of the new season of unscripted shows that include The Bachelorette, Dancing With the Stars, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire along with the rebooted Supermarket Sweep hosted by Leslie Jones.

"We're fortunate to have such a strong unscripted slate to launce our first wave of programming this fall," ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said in a statement. "Presenting the new Supermarket Sweep with Leslie Jones alongside fresh, original episodes of returning shows that viewers have come to know and love is invigorating. And with our scripted series ramping up production, we look forward to announcing more premiere dates very soon."

Here's a lineup of the fall scheduling for ABC.

Monday, September 14
8/7c Dancing With The Stars Season 29 premiere (hosted by Tyra Banks)

Thursday, September 24
8/7c Celebrity Family Feud (new episodes)
9/8c Press Your Luck (new episodes)
10/9c Match Game (new episodes)

Tuesday, October 13
8/7c The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere

Friday, October 16
8/7c Shark Tank season 12 premiere

Sunday, October 18
7/6c America's Funniest Home Videos Season 31 premiere
8/7c Supermarket Sweep
9/8c Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Season 2 premiere
10/9c Card Sharks Season 2 premiere

TBA Fall Premiere Dates
20/20, American Housewife, Big Sky, black-ish, The Conners, The Goldbergs, The Good Doctor, Grey's Anatomy, A Million Little Things, The Rookie, Station 19, Stumptown

Held for Midseason
$100,000 Pyramid, American Idol, The Bachelor, Call Your Mother, Card Sharks, For Life, and mixed-ish.

It's just like what CBS had announced on Wednesday but I think that ABC will come out of this better than CBS. Due to the fact that not only with their original and unscripted programs but with the NBA playoffs the network looks to be in better shape until their scripted shows like Grey's Anatomy and black-ish.

Watch Star Trek: Discovery: The Terran Empire - Full show on CBS All Access

We knew this was going to happen.

On Wednesday, CBS has announced that they're juggling of the fall lineup with shows like Star Trek: Discovery and others that had been acquired to buy time unit NCIS and Young Sheldon return with new episodes.

CBS Entertainment chief Kelly Kahl said in a statement, "This is hardly a traditional fall season, but we are prepared with a strong slate of original content while our regular scripted series begin production. (We) hope to start rolling out our previously announced fall series as they become available in November."

Along with the beaming of Discovery's Season One voyage premiering on Thursday night lineup, CBS will use Season four of the acclaimed Netflix turned PopTV sitcom One Day at a Time to occupy some of the Monday lineups. Along with Manhunt: Deadly Games, a Spectrum's true crime anthology, will close out Mondays starting September 21st.

Here's a look at the premiere dates for the fall season lineup at CBS

Premiering in November

MacGyver, Magnum P.I., Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, The Neighborhood, SEAL Team, The Unicorn, and Young Sheldon

Midseason

Clarice, Survivor and Undercover Boss

With shows looking to begin production the end of August to sometime in September; this is what was expected to come with networks acquiring other shows from streaming services and other broadcasting networks to fulfill the network with fresh content.

The lineup for the beginning of the fall looks okay (in my opinion). The one thing I'm really looking forward to seeing One Day at a Time return to the original series' network. And maybe, just maybe I might check out Star Trek Discovery that people are so divided about.

NBC 2020-2021 Fall Schedule

NBC TV Network - Shows, Episodes, Schedule

On Tuesday, NBC becomes the latest network to announce their fall schedule and just like CBS, they took it as business as usual approach.

NBC's pandemic-era fall slate will boost the return of 16 programs from Sunday Night Football (which will kick off with Cowboys and Rams Sept. 23), the top-rated This Is Us and the #OneChicago will return too.

"With the reopening of the Universal lot for select productions this week, we are confident that our schedule will premiere intact later this fall," said entertainment president chairman Paul Telegdy in a statement.

The new Elliot Stabler-centric Law and Order Organized Crime will lead out of SVU on Thursdays. While the recent renewal of Zoey's Playlist will return in the fall. And with The Voice returning, Gwen Stefani will return taking Nick Jonas' chair.

Here's the fall schedule:

MONDAY:
8/7c The Voice
10/9c: Manifest

8/7c The Voice
9/8c This Is Us

9/8c Dateline

SATURDAY
8/7c Dateline Saturday Night Mystery
10/9c SNL Encores

SUNDAY:
7/6c Football Night In America
8/7c Sunday Night Football

MIDSEASON: Ellen's Game of Games, Good Girls, Kenan, Mr. Mayor, Small Fortune, That's My Jam, True Story, Young Rock, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist

CANCELED: Blindspot, Bluff City Law, The Good Place, The InBetween, Indebted, Lincoln Rhyme; Hunt or the Bone Collector, Perfect Harmony, Sunnyside, and Will and Grace.

It looks like the network is staying to what CBS is doing but only adding one new series to the fall schedule. I'm super excited about the new Law & Order spinoff and even more than it's teaming with SVU on Thursday nights. After the reveal of the fall schedule, I'm a little confident that we'll see new episodes this fall. The one thing that worries me is how will the new standard be like.

CBS 2020-2021 Fall Lineup

It's been almost a week since CBS announced it's renewals and cancellations of their 2019-2020 shows and on Tuesday they announced their fall lineup with the only expectation that they haven't got a date yet. Like The CW and Fox, CBS is not saying when it's the new season will launch, the fact that its very stable new schedule is being billed as a "fall" lineup that's been suggested by the execs, who ae somewhat optimistic.

Along with the news, The Amazing Race will follow Survivor on Wednesday, which bumps S.W.A.T. to midseason. Chuck Lorre's new sitcom B Positive has scored the Thursday's post-Young Sheldon perch, sending The Unicorn to 9:30pm.

Also, The Queen Latifah-lead Equalizer reboot will follow 60 Minutes on Sunday, replacing the called God Friended Me. And the new Silence of the Lambs sequel series Clarice is being held for midseason. And the network is looking into a second spinoff in the FBI series.

Here's the fall schedule:

Monday
8/7c: The Neighborhood
8:30/7:30c: Bob Hearts Abishola
9/8c: All Rise
10/9c: Bull

Tuesday:
8/7c: NCIS
9/8c: FBI
10/9c: FBI: Most Wanted

Wednesday
8/7c: Survivor
9/8c: The Amazing Race
10/9c: SEAL Team

Thursday:
8/7c: Young Sheldon
8:30/7:30c: B Positive (New)
9/8c: Mom
9:30/8:30c: The Unicorn
10/9c: Evil

Friday
8/7c: MacGyver
9/8c: Magnum P.I.
10/9c: Blue Bloods

Saturday:
8/7c: Crimetime Saturday (drama encores)
9/8c: Crimetime Saturday (drama encores)
10/9c: 48 Hours

Sunday
7/6c: 60 Minutes
8/7c: The Equalizer (New)
9/8c: NCIS: Los Angeles
10/9c: NCIS: New Orleans

Midseason: Clarice, S.W.A.T., and Undercover Boss

Canceled: Broke, Carol's Second Act, God Friended Me, Man with a Plan and Tommy.

It looks like CBS is keeping their lineup close to the vest and hoping that they can get their fall lineup by September or so. We will just have to wait and see where things will stand since production starts around June.

The CW 2020-2021 Fall Schedule: Scripted Series Pushed to 2021, Supergirl set to Midseason

On Thursday, The CW becomes the second network in this wacky unconventional for the May Upfronts with its fall schedule. But the thing is that they're planned fall schedule will have an asterisk because their series won't premiere till January 2021.

With the acquirements of series, the network will be airing those along with unscripted programs and the reaming episodes of the final season of Supernatural. In 2021, the new rebooted Walker Texas Ranger series Walker will take Supernatural's timeslot.

With that in mind, Supergirl will be pushed back to midseason sometime around spring or summer due to accommodate Melissa Benoist's real-life pregnancy. Charmed will take Supergirl's Sunday timeslot. Superman and Lois, the new series, will get the 9pm slot following The Flash in 2021. And still no word on Katy Kane's renewal status yet.

And the Arrowverse crossover won't be as big as it was the last few seasons. Expect a smaller group with Superman and Batwoman.
