Hug Time! The Blacklist "Mr. Kaplan (No. 4)"/"Mr. Kaplan: Conclusion" Season Finale

Image result for the blacklist season 4

It was season finale that we've all been waiting for: Red v. Kaplan who will come out victorious? Here's a recap!

As Red tries to make a deal by selling weapons to buyers, apparently someone else had taken them and put Red in a sticky situation. Later on, he's trying to find any ounce of money in his accounts but Kaplan apparently has sucked him dry, talk about a messy divorce.

With that going, Gale admits to Ressler that he knows he's working with Keen and the task force that's working with Reddington and will take down him and the team for working with a criminal while committing crimes. That lead to Aram getting picked up by the FBI and was subpoena to the court about the task force and Reddington. He was granted full immunity but he wouldn't take it because he doesn't want to betrayed his friends.

Kaplan tries to get into a secret government building that holds secret documents where Reddington's document of a full immunity was placed. She takes one of the officer's eyeball out and give it to a hutch man to get the document. Keen and Samar gets there and chases him for a while but is caught by the police. Keen takes him to Red for a chat and as the guy tells Red that he can kill him all he wants that he won't talk. But he also asked for something in return if he can get Kaplan to him for which Red offers him a paradise island of his own that he had kept at Don's place (Liz's grandfather place). But Red kills him after getting the information.

Red and Kaplan meet in a theater but it gets interrupted by Gale and his partner shooting at Red. Red and Dembe escape but when Gale comes back to talk to Kaplan, she offers him that she can testify against Red. She tells what she knows and asked a full immunity but also to be left alone for a while she takes care of something very personal. She heads off to a place where a tree is marked with the letter K and she talks to Katarina that she's doing this for Liz and starts digging out a suitcase and places it near a station.

With the Task Force on their knees now, Red hunts for a man who's also a cleaner and finds him after making one of his clients call him. He not only gets him but takes Ressler to his shop where he has the Reven Wright's body in a container. They find the bullet that killed her and used it against Lauren Hitchin as a chip to get the committee to stop the testifying of the Task Force and Reddington, which they did.

As soon as that happened Gale calls Kaplan and tells her about what just happen. He gets a nice visit from Red and takes his phone from him and kind of goes memory lane with him. It was one of the most funniest scenes.

As Red calls Cooper to trace the phone of Kaplan, Liz is in root to talk with Kaplan privately and as they do, Kaplan tells Liz that she'll tell her the truth and drives her until Red's team stops them. Liz gets out as she kind of figures what the secret could be. Kaplan was order to shut the car off but instead shoots and drives off. She's stop by Red on the bridge and the gang behind her. The two face off again and talk about how this is the end. Kaplan tells him when she's dead that Liz get the suitcase. Red tells her that he's not going to killer her and as soon as she tells either way Liz will learn the truth, she jumps off the bridge and dies.

Later on, Cooper gives Liz an envelope that contains test results of a DNA test that he has always wanted to do ever since day one when Red and Liz met. Liz tells Cooper about how she did the same thing but never really looked and after looking she heads off to talk to Red and shows the results and just asked why waited to tell her this long. Instead of running, she just walks up and hugs him like a daughter should hug her dad.

But this isn't over as Red and Dembe check the spot where that suitcase was buried and sees that it was dug up. Soon we see someone picking up the suitcase and guess who that person is...no other then Tom Keen (SOB!!!). Big Surprise!!!

This was one hell of a on the edge thrilling season finale that had some nice twist and turns, even at the end. I was stunned to see Tom coming back. I didn't think he would be back this season. But he's going to have a bigger role in season five. I'm so glad that Liz finds out that Red is her father. Now that that chapter is over let's begin something new and it looks like something big is coming. I was also stunned to see Ressler killed Hitchin by mistake or was it? That was a real OMG moment. It had a lot of great scenes from Ressler talking about Hitchin at the post office or when Liz and Kaplan talked near the lake or Red and Kaplan talking for one last time. The writing was very good and very much tied up the season. I can't wait for Season 5. Overall, I give this episodes 1 9/10. Overall, I give this season a 8/10.

You can catch The Blacklist when it returns this fall to it's new night and time Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.

A Twist for the Heart: The Blacklist "Alexander Kirk (The Conclusion)

Everything has been leading to this episode, this very season finale that not only had so much emotion but humor and never to mention the very twist that only The Blacklist can bring to this very finale.

Red's plan is just as plan sight as his hat, take out Alexander Kirk and to do so he had Senator Diaz to indict him for questioning. Kirk sees the news coverage and doesn't take the bait. That's until Red has his team and FBI to switch illegal oil onto Kirk's company gas truck.

That my friend was one of many hilarious moments. As Red orders hot dogs that takes about 10 minutes or so, he's distracting the trucker as Tom and team switches the trucker's tank with the tank of oil.

As things went to plan, Red and Cooper had a chat about that Red's gonna kill Kirk. And gave this one of the most beautiful speeches in the three seasons of the show. So good that it felt like a finale.

The plan does work until Keen slips way from Kaplan and takes off on a airplane to Cuba. Kirk has a guy, who is a remembrance to Javier Bardem's character in "No Country for Old Men," following Tom and the baby. Follows him towards Cuba and tell Kirk about it. As Kirk's plane lands in the U.S., he heads to Cuba while his lawyer takes on the questions with the Senators.

That moment when Kirk wasn't there surprised Red as he was going shoot him in the head. Red calls Aram about it and he later finds that Kirk left on the plane to Cuba. While with Aram on, he asked what plane and company that Keen took.

As Red got the name of the company, he heads towards the owner, a friend, and slaps him with his own golf club. The guy thought that Red had ordered the plane, which he didn't, and told that Kaplan was the one who told him.

Kaplan betrays Red. It wasn't a pretty site to see when Red and Kaplan had a talk. He tells her that Kirk is on his way to Cuba and that Keen and Agnus aren't safe, until she responded with and someone else.

Keen gets to Cuba and heads towards a very nice place. He walks in with Agnus and as the camera cuts to the white curtains, who other than Liz pops out. Just to let all of you know I was still in shock, even though with all the talk about she's alive and all.  The three are together for now.

Red and Kaplan are on the plane and Red ask her how this all happen. Kaplan explained that she had to do it to protect her, that she and the baby wasn't protected under him. She talked to the doctor and he had a way to make things look like she was in need of an emergency. He gives her a dose to have her stop breathe for two minutes and after she was taken away in a body bag, he relived her.

My god Kaplan! My god!! She broke his heart. She broke my heart too.

Tom comes back from the store and sees the window broken. He looks around and finds a man in the baby room and kicks the crap out of him until  the big guy knocks him out.

As Red and Kaplan get there, the place is empty. There's broken glass and bottles, there was no sign of anyone. Red comes up to Kaplan with his hands and gun on her head and ask her what should he do with her. In a way, it felt like that scene from The Godfather Part II where Michael grabs Fredo.

In the final scene of the episode, Liz is in an empty room tied to a chair. Kirk comes out and walks towards her and the only thing she's asking is where is her baby and Tom and are they safe. Kirk calls Liz by her real name and tells her that she knows him. He tells her that he is her father. SHOCKING TWIST!!!

What a great finale this turned out to be. IT had enough humor, along with so many twist and emotional turns that writing this took me a day and a half to grab my thoughts together.

This was literally the best season finale that the series has done throughout it's run. The executive producers and writers have done a splendid job that not only answering some questions there's a whole lot more that is asked. Spader, Lennix and Klattenhoff gives a great performance.

I couldn't get those scenes with Red and Cooper along with Red and Ressler out of my head. I kept watching those scenes that still was so beautifully performed as well. It's great to see Megan Boone, because let's face it, it's not The Blacklist without Liz and Red together.  It's so great to see her once again.

I give this episode a 9.5/10. And overall the season a 9.5/10.

What did you think of The Blacklist season finale? Was it good? Was it bad? How excited are you for next season? Any thoughts?

The Blacklist returns this fall same night, new time: Thursdays at 10/9c. It's part of a great new line with with Superstore, The Good Place, Chicago Med.

The Change in the Game: The Blacklist "Masha Rostova" Season

Holy crap! That's what came to my mind after watching the season finale of The Blacklist. After what we've been through this season, it's a totally game changing next season. But first let's take a recap what happen here.

Liz is wanted for the what is murder of the senator that was infected with the virus that she carried that the Cabal set up. With that going on, Red tells her that she needs to leave the Post Office but she wouldn't do it until she over heard Cooper and Connolly arguing about Liz and all of this mess they're in.

Just as Lix overheard she started t leave but by the time she gets to the the floor, she's caught by Connolly and the FBI. Liz is being questioned and is taken a blood test to see if she's psotivie for the virus. They ask her questions about her life like where she was born and her real name.

Liz's real name is Masha Rostova and she was born in Russia. They keep pushing her to give them the right answers. In the meantime, Cooper who was leave of his duties of the taskforce because he wouldn't do what Connolly ordered him to do, talks to Red about Liz and all of what happen.

Of course, Red always has a back up plan when it comes to getting someone out of this kind of mess. The power was off for 45 seconds which gave Liz plenty of time to get out quick. With the help of Cooper of getting out, she runs into Ressler who stands there and talks her down but lets her go.

Liz meets with Red and Cooper and discuss of what to do next. Tom calls and talks to Red about what he could do: take Liz and runaway on his boat. Of course Red doesn't think that's a good idea and doesn't require his service anymore. But Liz would anyway.

Liz and Cooper looking up footage at the Union Station where Liz got knocked down by the bio-scientist who transferred the virus into Liz. She get there and sees the guy there and we flashback of how it happen.

After seeing the footage, Cooper tells Liz that his wife is being indited for sharing classified documents. So Liz was on her own, not! She went to Tom at his boathouse and the two investigated an apartment where the scientist was staying at. When they got there, there was a laptop with a flash drive that Liz too.

But the guy was running away. Tom and Liz chase him til he was stop by two guys that clearly shot and killed him. Liz was upset. This hasn't been her day at all and with  everything that has been going down,

As Tom cleans Liz up, they start talking. Liz has regrets not saying yes to him. And one shocking moment came when we see them making out. But it was a great scene that went back and forth which was really good. It cut the time of talk and love down a full good scene.

After that night, Liz wakes up wand finds the flash drive in her shirt. She uploads it on the laptop and finds documents that say that Harold Cooper wasn't really sick. Boy did that give Cooper one hell of a scene to show his temper. HE went full Thor on that guy.

In the meantime, Red sets up this one time meeting, he had his men pick up the best investigative journalist around the country/world. He shows the files of the fulcrum and explains of it and the outcome of having the knowledge.

Cooper and Liz met with Connolly, who is a member of the Cabal, and try to threat him with everything they have on him but the guy wouldn't budge at all. He even threats that everyone will be in trouble by sending Samar back to Iran, and Ressler losing his job of his drug addiction. So Connolly called out their buff.

But Liz with a last attempt pulls her gun and points it at him. Cooper talks her down but it didn't do any good. Liz shot and killed Connolly. Now Liz Keen is wanted fugitive. By the way, Tom Connolly is on the blacklist at No. 11 so just to inform you all about that. There was a blacklister that has been taken down.

But then, as Liz shot Connolly, she had a flashback. It was that of the night of the fire. She calls Red and he meets with her at a location. Red calls for the Traveler and as Dembe drops him off with Liz. She tells him that she remembers it all. That she killed her father after seeing him and her mother fighting. So that probably gives in that Red isn't Liz's father. But I think there's a catch. We can't assume just yet.

Red, who looked sad, tells her that he failed to protect her from that. He mention that he's the sin-eater, which eats the sins off of others so they can be good. But in the final scene where Rocket Man was playing, Liz and Red get in a van and take off to wherever they are going. They are now on the run.

The Director got a surprised when he saw the newspaper of their investigation of a secret government.

And just before the scene cuts out, we see Ressler picking up a photo and walks past the crew. He places the photo of Liz on the board , noting that she is now the most wanted person in the country. Li also got her face on the FBI most wanted board in the FBI office.

And then we see Liz lay her head on Red and just watch them looking on.

This episode was simply amazing. It picked up from where we left off and it never stop going until near the end. There were times that I had to hold my breathe.

There were so many good scenes, Cooper's temper at the doctor, Liz escaping from the Post Office. But it was that near to last scene when Liz told Red that she remembers, when she tells him about it and the look on Red's face was just so sad and yet emotional too.

The song choice at the end was perfect. It was enough to give us a taste of what's to come. This was a game changer now. Red isn't the most wanted anymore, it's Liz. Now whatever will happen next season should be excited to see.

I give this episode a 10/10. It was simply incredible. Megan Boone was just phenomenal in this episode. It's one of her best performance this season.

Overall this season, it started off strong and it ended strong. This season so far was at it's best. The writing, the characters and production couldn't have been any better. I literally can't wait for season three to start. I'm dying to know what the trailer would be.

The Blacklist will return in fall.

What's your thoughts? Did you like how the story changed? Looking forward to season three?
