Beyond The Events Around Us: Weekend Catch Up Part 13

iZombie "Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blue

When a murder of a country singer is found strangled, takes on as a country singer and a very good one at that.

Not only does Liv get that country singer in her but she also wrote a song based on her relationship with Major, who I thought they were going to break their relationship off again. They asked the boyfriend and even the creepy bar owner who was hitting on her but in the end, it turned out that the victim was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Turned out to be a robber, who just pulled a robbery at a store and dropped the gun at the same neighborhood.

Not only does Liv rediscovers love, but Clive experiences it to with an FBI agent looking into missing high profile cases. Also I can't put more stress on it that I've very much happy to see Peyton and Liv back together as friends. And just thought Liv and Major were done for, they came back to each others arms, or should I say that Major came back to her arms.

I enjoyed this episode so much that some of the phrases that Liv keeps say stuck in my head, mostly the "well, butter my button and call it a biscuit

Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10

You can catch iZombie Tuesday nights at 9/8c on The CW.

Arrow "Beyond Redemption"

When a task force is killing and stealing drug money, its up to the Green Arrow and the team to stop them and get some help from Lance. Also Oliver makes it official on running for Star City mayor.

For an episode to tell this kind of story, it feels more like a fell in than anything. Yeah the criminals were cops trying to make more at what they are making. I can understand that. I feel like the only thing that got done in this episode was that Oliver and the team got new digs, Laurel shows Quentin that Sara is alive.

But probably the only thing that got the episode any taste was the head butting of Oliver and Quentin, not only asking for his recommendation for Mayor but talking about Quentin's relationship with Dahrk. I will say that this was Paul Blackthorne's best performance so far. He had a lot on his plate more than any other character in this episode.

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch Arrow Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Code Black: "Doctor With Borders"

When a epidemic of respiratory illness comes to the hospital, Neal and the team race against time to treat and figure out what this illness is. Also a patient comes in with barbwire in his leg.

This episode showed it's best for Raza Jaffery as Dr. Hudson. On top of the epidemic, finding out that his mother is suffering too. He deals with not only professional but also personal when his dad butts in as well. I was very astonished from Jaffery's performance.

It soon turned out that it's not a deadly virus but a chlorine based where it burns through the throat, creating air from getting out.

Also watching Angus and Mario butted heads again was once again okay. These two are a bit of a bossom buddies rivalry. I have to hand it to Angus that he stepped up and never backed down from what he thinks and believes.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

You can catch Code Black Sunday nights at 10/9c on CBS.

Heroes Reborn: "June 13th Part 1"

In this part one of the two part episode, there were questions that were answered in this stunning episode.

Noah and Hiro tracks back to the event of June 13th 2014 at the Submit. Mohinder receives a message from Angela about Erica's plan. Noah and Hiro try to find Claire until Noah relives some of the events that happen before the event.

Angela gets to Hiro and Noah and informs him that Claire had called her that she's in the hospital. Noah goes with Angela while Hiro stops Harris along with Mohinder. They couldn't stop the bombs from going off.

Meanwhile, Noah finds out that Claire has died not from the blast, but from childbirth. And here's another shocker for ya, they're twins, a boy and a girl. Noah finally understand why he couldn't remember the event that took place, because he was hiding the whereabouts of Claire's kids.

Both of the kids were gone to separate ways, Nathan went to a nurse and Malina went to someone else. Nathan is who we know as Tommy.

So the point of this season I'm guessing is Save the Cheerleader's children, save the world.

This was hands down the best episode so far. There were a lot of questions answered and even though there are still more, it was literally the best hour of television, along side with The Blacklist.

Overall, I give this episode a 10/10.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

The Player "The Norseman"

This show is more entertaining than any other new drama show. After watching this episode, I can't believe that a lot of viewers aren't watching it.

When a bet is on to take down a killer, Alex not only takes him down but does it twice. The killer is more of witchcraft kinda of guy that needs to kill for the spirit. But after Alex take him down once, the killer gets revenge and takes his niece to do the final task.

Alex is furious and goes after the guy. After a few bumps and cuts, he comes and beats the crap out of him. But doesn't kill him or take him into custody. Alex stop him from killing after midnight and won the bet. That leaves The Dealer to come and clean up.

Oh my god, Wesley Snipes is amazing. I can never tell if he's good or bad but that fight scene was superb the best fight scene in a while.

Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

You can catch The Player Thursday night's at 10/9c on NBC.

Wild, Wild Weekend: Weekend Catch Up Pt 11

iZombie "Zombie Bro"

Call it the revenge that went wrong. This week's episode had to be straight down hilarious.

When a college student gets murdered at a frat party. Olivia takes on the mind of a frat student and it's totally hilarious. Making skeletons in the lab doing some weird and embarrassing things, writing "FART" on Ravi's head and putting makeup too.

And it wasn't just Liv but Ravi and Major as well. They try to find the drug so they know what it feels like when taking it. Ravi goes wild, just wild and dances. Major just does the same thing until someone uses his phone and calls Liv to pick him up These three both get in a taxi and perform one hell of a scene talking how they got this whole zombie thing going.

The suspects in the case goes to the frats boys, another student with the same name as the victim, the girlfriend and the couple that rented the costume. It might have sounded like it could be the frats or girlfriend but it turns out it was the couple that rented the costume. The guy wanted to get revenge on the victim because he killed his father in a drug driving. That was until he learned that it was the wrong guy that he killed.

Blaine on the other hand tries to get things moving in his drug ring. Not to mention that Major is now hooked on the drug that he and Ravi tried at the club.

Overall, I thought that this was one of the funniest episodes. I would watch this episode over just to get some laughs out of it.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

Here's a promo for Tuesday's episode.

You can catch iZombie Tuesday nights at 9/8c on The CW

Arrow "The Candidate"

Oliver and Thea deal not only their own issues but a friend of the family's own as well. When Jessica Danforth and her daughter comes to town, they're not only in Starling City for a nice visit and chat. Jessica tells Oliver and Thea that she's going to be running for Mayor and that their mother influenced her.

That kind a leads to another attack against the candidate for Mayor. There was an air gun going off and a kidnap of Jessica's daughter all by Lonnie Machin or as he calls himself the Anarchy. He's working for Darhk and HIVE. Darhk doesn't like Machin's approaches to these situations but it did get Jessica to stop running for mayor after her daughter is brought back thanks to Speedy and Green Arrow.

As for Thea, she's been getting a bit too aggressive against the Ghost and it concerns Oliver to the point of retelling what happen against Al Ghul. Thea tells Laurel about what had happen and it gave her the idea to take her and go back to the pit but not with just the two of them but bring with them Laurel's sister.

As for Oliver, he's been thinking over and decides to run for Mayor of Starling City. If he wants to be a step ahead of the Ghost, why not?

Felicity meets with Curtis Holt and had to make some difficult choices for the Palmer Company. But saves the jobs and invest on whatever Holt has cooking in his lad. I think that Holt could be the Static Shock, but who knows. It was just a thought.

Oliver's flashback we see him back on the island and dealing with another military that have slavery of people working for them. He's working for them and looks pretty good with a nice haircut.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

Here's a promo for the next episode.

You can catch Arrow Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Heroes Reborn: "The Lion's Den"

Noah searches for the answers and tries to get them out of Erica. When Harris makes an entrance, things goes battle but Miko comes in and gets her sword back.

Tommy learns a bit about his past, that his mother isn't really his mother. This was when he was getting tested and put a microchip in his arm, so they know where he'll be when he disappears. He gets upset towards his mother, but the old man who comes in tells him that he's the one to help save the world. If I was Tommy I would freak out too.

Malina escapes from Harris and his men but a mentor/friend scarifies to help her. We seen The Shadow and it doesn't look like a pretty Evo at all.

Luke on the other hand makes some changes in his life. Gives his practice away and looks through his past. And then sets his house on fire and leaves like a total bad ass.

This episode was very good. I'm amazed at Robbie Kay's performance. And with Noah still searching, he know who he has to go to...to an old friend.

Overall, I give it a 8/10.

Here's a promo for Thursday's new episode.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

The Player "The Big Blind"

Could Ginny still be alive? That's the question that lingers into Alex's mind, while protecting a friend from getting taken out by her husband. The stakes have never been any higher and as Mr. Johnson said the odds should be much higher.

When an attack takes place against a high profile criminal Ray and his wife Monica, Alex comes to investigates. It turns into a keep the wife alive against the husband as she hired a hit-man to taken her husband out.

Alex takes on not just one but five guys. Alex takes Monica to a construction site of remodel hotel to stay safe, but they wouldn't stay safe for long. Alex takes things into his own hands and taken everyone out not just with a gun, but a phone, duck tape, propane and fire torch.

Monica gets away and Alex standoff with one last guy, until they shoot each other. Alex goes down but wakes up and sees a shadow figure a couple of feet from him. Soon he falls back asleep and flashbacks to when he first meet Ginny. Then wakes up with a cup on his right side just like Ginny use to in his dream.

Alex ask Monica about Ginny and the only thing that she tells him is that she was afraid of something. Alex and Mr. Johnson have a few nice heated chats. I enjoy watching these two butted heads. And also Cassandra is also in the same boat as Alex, as she's trying to find what happen to Ginny but comes short.

So is Ginny really died? Does anyone think that Cassandra's real name is April?

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

Bones: "The Doctor in the Drink"

When a body is found in a pond, Booth and Brennan are back on the case. Brennan who misses much of the excitement while Booth is going through some stuff the begins at home and ends up at work.

The team dives into solving the case. They come up with that the body had it's organs taken away. Aubrey and Booth checkout suspects like Nadia who talked to Aubrey about harvesting organs for the good to save a life. Yeah but in this case it really wasn't in anyway good.

When Brennan and Wendell check over the bones once again, they find that the angle of the damaged face doesn't meet. So Angela gets her hands in it and find out that the car safety guard was the weapon and that it was the victim's best friend.

In this episode, Booth is going through other tough time when his brother's ashes haven't arrived. Even though I thought Aubrey had it, when it wasn't I think that Booth was at this point still grieving for the lost of Jared. But I think what could make that a little better was that Booth got his old office back.

I enjoyed this episode. Love that Bones and Booth are back but I do mess seeing these two solve crime together. I miss the teamwork between Booth and Brennan, that chemistry that made this show awesome and unique. I'm not saying that I don't like what they're doing, all I'm saying is that at least have a couple of episodes of Booth and Brennan solving crime instead of having Booth and Aubrey doing some of the work.

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

You can catch Bones Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend "Josh Just Happens to Live Here"

It's smart, crafty, bright and witted. These are some of the words that I can best describe the new CW series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend."

Starring Rachel Bloom, she plays Rebecca Bunch, a girl who was once a happy girl when she was at a summer camp with a boy named Josh Chan until he broke up with her. Ten years later, she's a successful lawyer about to become junior partner at a firm until she spotted Josh.

They catch up pretty quick and heard that he was moving back to West Covina, California. Rebecca soon declined her job offer and moved to West Covina, where it's only two hours from the beach (NOT!). She gets a job at a local law firm for Darryl Whitefeather. She meets Paula Proctor, a person that's worked extra harder to get where she is today.

Paula doesn't seem to like Rebecca at first due to how she's acting. That all changed when Paula confronted Rebecca about everything and after a bit of a reality check, Rebecca thinks she's crazy for what she had done. Moving over to try to connect with Josh. Paula doesn't think so and is willing to help her achieve that goal.

This series has a mixture of everything. I couldn't get some of the songs out of my head from West Covina to "Sexy Ready Getting Song." Bloom is stunning and astonishing in the pilot. The chemstiry between Bloom and Donna Lynne Champlin, who plays Paula, is impressive.

Overall, I give the pilot a 9/10.

You can catch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tonight and every Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Thursday Night Drama

Heroes Reborn "The Needs of Many"

After learning what EPIC program is about, Noah tries to get back in and get Molly,  Tommy tries saving his mother and Joanne finds the truth of why Luke has been acting awkwardly.

With project EPIC, Noah and Quentin need to get back and find Molly that's been held captive to use her and other Evos powers thanks to Erica Kravid. Thanks to her daughter, who learned the truth about her boyfriend, she help Noah get in, but it didn't go the way Noah hoped when Molly killed herself.

But Molly says that he mustn't look to the past but the future, the future needs to be saved. That's probably what the mysterious color lights that everyone saw. It must be a call to arms kind of thing.

Luke has a whole lot different perspective when he's powers show when he's in front of the sunlight. After watching Joanne kill another Evo, who had a family. Soon he tells her or showed her his power. She almost shoots him but doesn't and walks away.

Meanwhile, Miko is on her way to the United States and gets help from fan of her video game. And Tommy tries saving her mother by teleporting her to the ER and given her blood. But after testing his blood to see if he's a match, it turned a red flag and the cops where there.

And Malina heads down south to get help with whats probably going to be the biggest event that needs more than one hero to stop it.

Overall, I give this episode 8/10.

Here's a promo to next week's episode.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

The Player "L.A. Takedown"

Alex and Johnson makes a deal to work together on finding what happen to his ex-wife. But Alex seems to have trust issues and have a friend do some digging. That did not go well with Johnson, who drugged Alex's friend and grabbed the copies and made some false paper work for Alex to look at and listen.

Alex's next job was to rescue someone from a drug cartel, but is more like Alex Kane. Trying to find this guy, realizing that after rescuing the guy was going after his son. I couldn't get enough of Alex and Cassandra's chemistry between these two,w ho work like Jack Bauer and Chloe from 24 expect there's a lot more humor.

I couldn't get enough of that helicopter scene when Alex and Cassandra where looking to snipe the guy befor ehe kills the client's son.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode much. I give it a 7.5/10, for which the run and shooting scene blew my mind, Johnson getting stuff done and Alex and Cassandra teamworking is amazing.

Here's a promo for next week's episode.

You can catch The Player Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Bones "The Brother in the Basement"

The search for Booth continues, the suspects go left and right. But the most part is that at the end the dynamic duo are back to action .

Brennan makes it official that she's back to work. She was shocked that the Lab lost it's title as the best Medical Exam Lab in the country.

The case went left and a bit right, but it was until a broken finger appeared that help the case to go on. Soon they found two dead bodies and one of the clues that help solved the case, the the killer used brass knuckles in the head, but suffered a broken wrist which turned out to be the ultimate clue to who it is, which was the guy that came in and help.

But after a tough time, Booth is saved and both him and Bones are coming back to do what they do best, solve crime and catch bad guys.

Overall,  I give this episode a 6/10. It wasn't as dramatic as it was last week  but it was okay.

You can catch Bones Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX.

The Player "Ante Up"

What happens when the best doesn't go down the way it should? This episode explains that concept.

When a group of military men steal money from casinos, and Alex's next job deals with this but also dealing with a familiar face as well.

The man behind the heist is a long time military partner who's following a job that he's doing. There next job is to steal a rare diamond. He's just like Alex except that he's bad. When the bet is set for Alex to take down this job in a day, Alex looses the game.

But there is a double or nothing rule that the stakes are even higher. Alex will have to stop his friend within the hour. There was amazing fight scene that took place on the plane that was unbelievable and not to forget the scene where both Alex and his friend jumping off the plane.

But course, Alex wins the bet.

We do get to deal that maybe Alex's ex-wife isn't dead and Mr. Johnson wants to help him on that quest. Also I couldn't get enough of the chemistry between Alex and Cassandra which is like Jack and Chloe from 24. I LOVE IT!!

Overall, I give this episode a 7.5/10. It was good.

Here's a promo from next week's episode.

You can catch The Player Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

The Stakes Are Higher: Thursday Night Premiere Night

Heroes Reborn: "Brave New World" & "Odessa"

We've been waiting for this premiere since the surprising short trailer came out during the 2014 Winter Olympics. Heroes was a breakout hit when it premiered 10 years ago but dwindled in ratings after being on the air for four seasons. Now the show is back with a reboot look too it.

The series starts out with both humans and Evos ( people who are evolution with powers) coming together until a bomb was drop and destroyed humans and evos but it caused a lot of trouble when a year later that anyone who's an Evo are being hunted down.

We get a familiar introduction to the Evos and other characters just like the first season of the series. Noah Bennent is back with a fresh new life but lost his daughter in the bombing. Seems to have forgotten the things that happen before Claire's death (or is she really dead?). When Quentin follows Noah and discuss about the Evos and how they need to save the world. They soon work together to try to get information on one person Emily Walker.

There are some characters that are interesting to watch. One is Tommy Clark who has powers to teleport  people to where he is thinking . Along with his crush interest Emily. And also Miko Otomo who has almost the same storyline as Hiro from the regular series of how she's meant to save the world and that she's a character in the comic book as a ninja.

I shouldn't forget that Zachary Levi is playing a great bad ass character. Levi's character Luke Collins, is a dark and seeking revenge the Evos that have killed his son. Hunting down with his wife shooting them down one by one.

This series brings in how one society hates the other and wants them gone for good. And with an event that's soon to be coming, the world will need these heroes soon.

I was amazed from the characters at times. This show seems a lot better from when I last watched the series.

Overall, I give this two hour premiere a 9/10.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC

The Player: "Pilot"

The buzzed about series, The Player gives a lot of action pack adventures of the criminal world of how it's about one thing gambling.

When a cool, edge and handsome FBI agent becomes a security expert, Alex Kane, stops an attacker from killing a high profile resident and soon loses his ex-wife because of a set up. But when a the Dealer Cassandra King comes to his rescue not once but twice and takes him the Mr. Johnson, the pit boss.

Mr. Johnson played by Wesley Snipes, offers Kane a job to be the player in a high stakes crime stopper. There are people that place bets on whether he succeeds or not. The only issue that he can't use any help expect from Cassandra who by the way is one of the best characters in the series along with Snipes.

As I said this series is a high stakes action crime drama. There's more action and some dialogue and some mystery to whether who killed Alex's ex wife and adds to what does Cassandra have any connection to being with his ex.

From the pilot, it was very much enjoyable and very entertaining. I love awesome action scenes in series and this one doesn't hold back at all.

Overall, I give the pilot episode a 8/10.
