Bones: An End of an Era

Image result for Bones

September 13, 2005 would be a date that I still remember. I was just in my second year in high school, that was also the night of the season premiere of the second best medical show on television, House, MD. but mostly a new series premiered. Jumping to 12 years later, we say goodbye that's been a part of my life.

Bones was a show that really got my attention with it's series trailer, something that looked like a familiar crime drama but with a different take on it. Watching a Forensic Anthropologist on television seemed new and watching how this character could solve a murder by look at the bones was just completely a game changer in my book. And as soon after the pilot premiere, I was hooked to these characters, but mostly Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan.

Temperance (Emily Deschanael) is one of the most interesting characters that I've seen in years on television. She's different, new and she can really kick ass unlike any other female character. Watching her, I just feel connected to her even if I didn't know a lot of the science behind all of the science stuff. And along with her are some of the most interesting and so well balanced supporting characters. The balance and chemistry between Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) might looked the same to other crime series partners like Scully and Mulder but this was different as each of them learned from each other's strength and knowledge and learned.

If you look back at each season, you could really named each season a a chapter section. There have been many, many episodes that have been truly my favorite. The pilot really tops the list because it's where we are introduced to the characters.

Here's my favorite episodes from the show:
Season one: "The Man In the SUV", "A Man on Death Row", "The Woman in the Airport", "Two Bodies in the Lab" (this episode really got the ball rolling on how strong Brennan and Booth partnership), "The Man in the Morgue" and "The Woman in Limbo."

Season Two: "The Titan on the Tracks", "Aliens in the Spaceship", "Judas on the Pole" (my personal favorite).

Season Three: This my be one of my favorite seasons still to this day. "The Widow's Son in the Windshield", "Soccer Mom in the Mini-Van", "Death in the Saddle" (a hilarious episode), "The Santa in the Slush" (all time favorite Christmas episode), "The Baby in the Bough" (personal favorite), "The Wannabe in the Weeds" and "The Pain in the Heart."

Season Four: This was another great season and probably my second favorite. "Yanks in the U.K." "The Finger in the Nest" (such an emotional but beautiful episode), "The He in the She", "The Con Man in the Meth Lab", "The Bone that Blew", "The Hero in the Hold", "The Critic in the Cabernet" and "The End in the Beginning".

Season Five:  "The Bond in the Boot", "The Plain in the Prodigy", A Night at the bone Museum", "The Garner in the Grease", "The X in the File", "The Death of the Queen Bee", "The Witch in the Wardrobe", "The Beginning in the End".

Season Six: "The Mastodon in the Room", The Couple in the Cave", The Bones That Weren't", "The Doctor in the Photo" (Another personal favorite), "The Body in the Bag", "The Blackout int he Blizzard", "The Finder", "The Hole in the Heart" and "The Change in the Game."

Season Seven: "The Memories in the Shallow Grave", "The Male in the Mail", The Twist in the Twister", "The Crack i the Code", "The Prisoner in the Pipe", "The Bump in the Road", "The Family in the Feud" and "The Past in the Present."

Season Eight: "The Future in the Past", The Tiger in the Tale", "The Patriot in the Purgatory", "The Maiden in the Mushrooms", "The Pathos in the Pathogens" and "The Secret in the Siege."

Season Nine: "The Secrets int he Proposal", "The Cheat in the Retreat", "The Woman in White", "The Nazi on the Honeymoon", "The Fury in the Jury", "The Drama in the Queen" and "The Recluse in the Recliner."

Season Ten:  "The Conspiracy in the Corpse", "The Lance to the Heart", "The Geek in the Guck", "The Puzzler in the Pit", "The 200th in the 10th", "The Teacher in the Books", "The Putter in the Rough", "The Verdict in the Victims", "The Next in the Last."

Season Eleven: "The Loyalty in the Lie", "The Brother in the Basement", "The Death in the Defense", "The Murder of the Meninist", "The Fight in the Fixer", "The Secret in the Service", "The Movie in the Making", "The Jewel in the Crown" and "The Nightmare within the Nightmare."

Season Twelve: (So far) "The Hope in the Horror", The Brian in the Bot", "The New Tricks in the Old Dogs", "The Flaw in the Saw",  "The Scare in the Score", "The Radioactive Panthers int he Party", "The Day in the Life" and I'm saying this no matter what because I know they'll give us a great ending "The End in the End."

How luck have we, the fans, have been to watch this show, (a little show that could) making it this long on television. Since the beginning I would compare both Brennan and Dr. House (from House) as a brother-sister type characters because they both stood strong and believed what they know and also they were on the same nights with each other (that's mostly why so please don't hate me on that).

But the reason why this show is so popular is not just the crime stories or the science (even though it's proven that this show has really given viewers inspirational to be someone like Bones), but mostly it's about family and how these characters learn and grow and they've have learned and grown in front of us. I'm proud to call them my family. And let's just say that every time I hear "Hot Blooded" I think of Bones and Booth.

As the hours tick to minutes and as the minutes tick to seconds til tonight's series finale, I would just want to finish this off by just saying thank you to the creators, the cast and crew of Bones. For the past 12 seasons there have been a lot of laughs, tears and memorable moments that I'll still remember after the show has ended. I know that tonight's finale will be a tear-jerking emotional one with I hope with a happy ending to say the least.

You can catch the series finale of Bones tonight at 9/8c on FOX.

Shows Coming to an End:
Bones (FOX): After 11 seasons the on air the hit FOX drama closes it's case for one last season. I've been a fan since the beginning, when I saw the first trailer for the show. Then when it came to the premiere I fell in love with these characters, mostly Temperance Brennan, because she was different than I've seen on television for a female lead. Plus it was on before FOX's other hit show, House, M.D. which during that time I called them the sister-brother combo of Tuesday night Fox ( I know it sounds weird but to me these two felt like they were siblings in a way). As much as I hate to see a series end, I'm glad that the network has given them a final run for us (the fans) to have a last go around. I'm sure these last 12 episodes will be their best ones yet.

Grimm (NBC): After five seasons, the book will come to a close on the hit NBC supernatural-cop drama.  Just like Bones, I fell in love these characters, a lot and if I'm not mistaken, it's probably the only show that hasn't really let go of it's actors. I enjoy watching Nick, Hank, Wu, Adalind, Rosealee and Monroe every week. And yes, even though some aren't into it, I'm on the bandwagon of #Nadalind. The series was so different that I loved tuning in on Fridays (and other nights it was one at the beginning). For it to end I hope there's a happy ending with 13 episodes get ready for the best of all.

Bones Final Season Teaser

Image result for bones fox season 12

Well, it's here.

TVLine has gotten an exclusive first teaser of the final season of Bones. And Booth is going to go all out to get his family back.

In the season finale, Brennan was kidnapped and in the surprising twist it turns out that kidnapper is Zach. Oh yeah!

Even if it's a 30-40 second teaser, it kind of gives me a touching moment when they put previous clips throughout the season.

Here's the teaser:

You can catch the final season of Bones Tuesday, Jan. 3rd at 9/8c

Wild, Wild Weekend: Weekend Catch Up Pt 11

iZombie "Zombie Bro"

Call it the revenge that went wrong. This week's episode had to be straight down hilarious.

When a college student gets murdered at a frat party. Olivia takes on the mind of a frat student and it's totally hilarious. Making skeletons in the lab doing some weird and embarrassing things, writing "FART" on Ravi's head and putting makeup too.

And it wasn't just Liv but Ravi and Major as well. They try to find the drug so they know what it feels like when taking it. Ravi goes wild, just wild and dances. Major just does the same thing until someone uses his phone and calls Liv to pick him up These three both get in a taxi and perform one hell of a scene talking how they got this whole zombie thing going.

The suspects in the case goes to the frats boys, another student with the same name as the victim, the girlfriend and the couple that rented the costume. It might have sounded like it could be the frats or girlfriend but it turns out it was the couple that rented the costume. The guy wanted to get revenge on the victim because he killed his father in a drug driving. That was until he learned that it was the wrong guy that he killed.

Blaine on the other hand tries to get things moving in his drug ring. Not to mention that Major is now hooked on the drug that he and Ravi tried at the club.

Overall, I thought that this was one of the funniest episodes. I would watch this episode over just to get some laughs out of it.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

Here's a promo for Tuesday's episode.

You can catch iZombie Tuesday nights at 9/8c on The CW

Arrow "The Candidate"

Oliver and Thea deal not only their own issues but a friend of the family's own as well. When Jessica Danforth and her daughter comes to town, they're not only in Starling City for a nice visit and chat. Jessica tells Oliver and Thea that she's going to be running for Mayor and that their mother influenced her.

That kind a leads to another attack against the candidate for Mayor. There was an air gun going off and a kidnap of Jessica's daughter all by Lonnie Machin or as he calls himself the Anarchy. He's working for Darhk and HIVE. Darhk doesn't like Machin's approaches to these situations but it did get Jessica to stop running for mayor after her daughter is brought back thanks to Speedy and Green Arrow.

As for Thea, she's been getting a bit too aggressive against the Ghost and it concerns Oliver to the point of retelling what happen against Al Ghul. Thea tells Laurel about what had happen and it gave her the idea to take her and go back to the pit but not with just the two of them but bring with them Laurel's sister.

As for Oliver, he's been thinking over and decides to run for Mayor of Starling City. If he wants to be a step ahead of the Ghost, why not?

Felicity meets with Curtis Holt and had to make some difficult choices for the Palmer Company. But saves the jobs and invest on whatever Holt has cooking in his lad. I think that Holt could be the Static Shock, but who knows. It was just a thought.

Oliver's flashback we see him back on the island and dealing with another military that have slavery of people working for them. He's working for them and looks pretty good with a nice haircut.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

Here's a promo for the next episode.

You can catch Arrow Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Heroes Reborn: "The Lion's Den"

Noah searches for the answers and tries to get them out of Erica. When Harris makes an entrance, things goes battle but Miko comes in and gets her sword back.

Tommy learns a bit about his past, that his mother isn't really his mother. This was when he was getting tested and put a microchip in his arm, so they know where he'll be when he disappears. He gets upset towards his mother, but the old man who comes in tells him that he's the one to help save the world. If I was Tommy I would freak out too.

Malina escapes from Harris and his men but a mentor/friend scarifies to help her. We seen The Shadow and it doesn't look like a pretty Evo at all.

Luke on the other hand makes some changes in his life. Gives his practice away and looks through his past. And then sets his house on fire and leaves like a total bad ass.

This episode was very good. I'm amazed at Robbie Kay's performance. And with Noah still searching, he know who he has to go to...to an old friend.

Overall, I give it a 8/10.

Here's a promo for Thursday's new episode.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

The Player "The Big Blind"

Could Ginny still be alive? That's the question that lingers into Alex's mind, while protecting a friend from getting taken out by her husband. The stakes have never been any higher and as Mr. Johnson said the odds should be much higher.

When an attack takes place against a high profile criminal Ray and his wife Monica, Alex comes to investigates. It turns into a keep the wife alive against the husband as she hired a hit-man to taken her husband out.

Alex takes on not just one but five guys. Alex takes Monica to a construction site of remodel hotel to stay safe, but they wouldn't stay safe for long. Alex takes things into his own hands and taken everyone out not just with a gun, but a phone, duck tape, propane and fire torch.

Monica gets away and Alex standoff with one last guy, until they shoot each other. Alex goes down but wakes up and sees a shadow figure a couple of feet from him. Soon he falls back asleep and flashbacks to when he first meet Ginny. Then wakes up with a cup on his right side just like Ginny use to in his dream.

Alex ask Monica about Ginny and the only thing that she tells him is that she was afraid of something. Alex and Mr. Johnson have a few nice heated chats. I enjoy watching these two butted heads. And also Cassandra is also in the same boat as Alex, as she's trying to find what happen to Ginny but comes short.

So is Ginny really died? Does anyone think that Cassandra's real name is April?

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

Here's a promo for Thursday's episode.

You can catch The Player Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Bones: "The Doctor in the Drink"

When a body is found in a pond, Booth and Brennan are back on the case. Brennan who misses much of the excitement while Booth is going through some stuff the begins at home and ends up at work.

The team dives into solving the case. They come up with that the body had it's organs taken away. Aubrey and Booth checkout suspects like Nadia who talked to Aubrey about harvesting organs for the good to save a life. Yeah but in this case it really wasn't in anyway good.

When Brennan and Wendell check over the bones once again, they find that the angle of the damaged face doesn't meet. So Angela gets her hands in it and find out that the car safety guard was the weapon and that it was the victim's best friend.

In this episode, Booth is going through other tough time when his brother's ashes haven't arrived. Even though I thought Aubrey had it, when it wasn't I think that Booth was at this point still grieving for the lost of Jared. But I think what could make that a little better was that Booth got his old office back.

I enjoyed this episode. Love that Bones and Booth are back but I do mess seeing these two solve crime together. I miss the teamwork between Booth and Brennan, that chemistry that made this show awesome and unique. I'm not saying that I don't like what they're doing, all I'm saying is that at least have a couple of episodes of Booth and Brennan solving crime instead of having Booth and Aubrey doing some of the work.

Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

Here's a promo for Thursday's episode.

You can catch Bones Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend "Josh Just Happens to Live Here"

It's smart, crafty, bright and witted. These are some of the words that I can best describe the new CW series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend."

Starring Rachel Bloom, she plays Rebecca Bunch, a girl who was once a happy girl when she was at a summer camp with a boy named Josh Chan until he broke up with her. Ten years later, she's a successful lawyer about to become junior partner at a firm until she spotted Josh.

They catch up pretty quick and heard that he was moving back to West Covina, California. Rebecca soon declined her job offer and moved to West Covina, where it's only two hours from the beach (NOT!). She gets a job at a local law firm for Darryl Whitefeather. She meets Paula Proctor, a person that's worked extra harder to get where she is today.

Paula doesn't seem to like Rebecca at first due to how she's acting. That all changed when Paula confronted Rebecca about everything and after a bit of a reality check, Rebecca thinks she's crazy for what she had done. Moving over to try to connect with Josh. Paula doesn't think so and is willing to help her achieve that goal.

This series has a mixture of everything. I couldn't get some of the songs out of my head from West Covina to "Sexy Ready Getting Song." Bloom is stunning and astonishing in the pilot. The chemstiry between Bloom and Donna Lynne Champlin, who plays Paula, is impressive.

Overall, I give the pilot a 9/10.

You can catch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend tonight and every Monday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

Thursday Night Drama

Heroes Reborn "The Needs of Many"

After learning what EPIC program is about, Noah tries to get back in and get Molly,  Tommy tries saving his mother and Joanne finds the truth of why Luke has been acting awkwardly.

With project EPIC, Noah and Quentin need to get back and find Molly that's been held captive to use her and other Evos powers thanks to Erica Kravid. Thanks to her daughter, who learned the truth about her boyfriend, she help Noah get in, but it didn't go the way Noah hoped when Molly killed herself.

But Molly says that he mustn't look to the past but the future, the future needs to be saved. That's probably what the mysterious color lights that everyone saw. It must be a call to arms kind of thing.

Luke has a whole lot different perspective when he's powers show when he's in front of the sunlight. After watching Joanne kill another Evo, who had a family. Soon he tells her or showed her his power. She almost shoots him but doesn't and walks away.

Meanwhile, Miko is on her way to the United States and gets help from fan of her video game. And Tommy tries saving her mother by teleporting her to the ER and given her blood. But after testing his blood to see if he's a match, it turned a red flag and the cops where there.

And Malina heads down south to get help with whats probably going to be the biggest event that needs more than one hero to stop it.

Overall, I give this episode 8/10.

Here's a promo to next week's episode.

You can catch Heroes Reborn Thursday nights at 8/7c on NBC.

The Player "L.A. Takedown"

Alex and Johnson makes a deal to work together on finding what happen to his ex-wife. But Alex seems to have trust issues and have a friend do some digging. That did not go well with Johnson, who drugged Alex's friend and grabbed the copies and made some false paper work for Alex to look at and listen.

Alex's next job was to rescue someone from a drug cartel, but is more like Alex Kane. Trying to find this guy, realizing that after rescuing the guy was going after his son. I couldn't get enough of Alex and Cassandra's chemistry between these two,w ho work like Jack Bauer and Chloe from 24 expect there's a lot more humor.

I couldn't get enough of that helicopter scene when Alex and Cassandra where looking to snipe the guy befor ehe kills the client's son.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode much. I give it a 7.5/10, for which the run and shooting scene blew my mind, Johnson getting stuff done and Alex and Cassandra teamworking is amazing.

Here's a promo for next week's episode.

You can catch The Player Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC.

Bones "The Brother in the Basement"

The search for Booth continues, the suspects go left and right. But the most part is that at the end the dynamic duo are back to action .

Brennan makes it official that she's back to work. She was shocked that the Lab lost it's title as the best Medical Exam Lab in the country.

The case went left and a bit right, but it was until a broken finger appeared that help the case to go on. Soon they found two dead bodies and one of the clues that help solved the case, the the killer used brass knuckles in the head, but suffered a broken wrist which turned out to be the ultimate clue to who it is, which was the guy that came in and help.

But after a tough time, Booth is saved and both him and Bones are coming back to do what they do best, solve crime and catch bad guys.

Overall,  I give this episode a 6/10. It wasn't as dramatic as it was last week  but it was okay.

Here's a promo for next week's episode.

You can catch Bones Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX.

The Seen of the Unseen: Bones "The Loyalty in the Lie" Season Premiere

A new season starts off with a strong emotional case. What the hell is Booth up to and why did he fake his death?

The season jumps six months, we see the Bones family all together and get to see the new bundle of joy. Booth goes off to teach his class and gives Brennan and the family one last look like he was going to do something life or death.

That leads to when the Cam and the team to a burning van where they found a body that has the same body built as Booth. Everyone thought it was Booth, until Brennan came in and took over to find out that it wasn't Booth due to a bullet wound that didn't injured one part of his bone.

I do love the montage of clips from the past years between Booth and Bones when Brennan was looking and feeling the bones. But it's not Booth but the sad part is that it's his brother Jared. I had a feeling it might be from the computer imagery that Angelia came up with.

So the hunt is on to find Booth but it doesn't seem to be a search and rescue at all but as a wanted fugitive. Seems like Booth is in a group that's stealing money and the team found his blood in someone's mansion.

Kim Raver, who's one of my favorite TV actresses from Third Watch to Lipstick Jungle, plays such a bad ass FBI agent who turns this team on their feet and is determine that Booth is going to get arrested for this doing. Give Brennan a run for his money when fighting for her man.

The show really starts off very well and ends on a cliffhanger. Booth is injured but for how long will he survive?

I know that this was a storyline to deal with David Boreanaz health scare this summer. It fits so well and gives a great tone to this season.

Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.

Here's a promo for next week's episode.

You can catch Bones Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX.

Bones: Brennan and Booth are Having a.....

And it's a boy!!

For Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Borenaz) will be having a son in the upcoming season of Bones, as Entertainment Weekly learned it exclusively. The boy is the second child for the couple who have a daughter, Christine.

"I won't say a name, but Brennan is going to have a boy and were going to have fun with (her) as a mom," executive producer Michael Peterson telling EW. "Brennan is going to become the homeroom mom for Christine, which is just very fun for us- the stories about what it's like to have Brennan be involved in school that way."

Deschanel is a mother herself, with two boy and both of her pregnancies have been written on the show.

She tells EW that she's excited of the new to the series and that she loves boys and expects to help alter the family dynamic.

"When a new child is born into a family, it always affects the whole family," Deschanel says. "It's a huge change for everybody-parents and other siblings. They were the center of the universe for a while and now they have to share, and that's a challenge. Whether they show that directly or indirectly, it'll affect the other child.

"Even with all the help that I get, I find it very challenging to have two kids," she continues. "Trying to make sure you have the time for both of them, and juggling all the different things.  You have another child who has activities and school and all that. I think you'll see storylines revolving around that as the season goes on."

Entertainment Weekly added that when the show returns that it "will pick up about six months after the season 10 finale."

You can catch the season premiere of "Bones" Thursday, Oct 1st at 8/7c on FOX.

An Ending that Leads to a New Beginning: Bones "The Next in the Last" Season Finale

I'm going to keep this short. The season finale of "Bones" aired tonight, and as we all knew ahead of time, this would feel more like a series finale than a season finale.

With everything changing, Angie and Hodgins moving to Paris, and now Brennan and Booth are thinking of packing it all up to be one big happy family.

When Pelant returns, it gives Booth a perspective that this will be his and Brennan's last case.

I will say I'm a massive fan of "Bones." I've been watching it from the beginning, and yeah, there were times when I might miss episodes, but I always caught up with reruns or DVDs.

I won't give away what happened. I'll let you figure that out on your own.

With this being the series's tenth season, I figured that this series would maybe come to an end. The only reason is I always think of the story's characters, and not to mention that I want to leave the show out on top when you can.

After watching this season finale, I would have been satisfied if this was the series finale. With everything that has happened, it just seems right.

But we got season 11 to look forward to in the fall, and with new showrunners in charge of the show now, who knows what will happen. The ending is undoubtedly not the end but a new beginning either way.
