Unlikely Friends: Kevin Can Wait "Beat The Parents"
This week's episode of Kevin Can Wait was very funny. Funnier than last week's episode if I may say so as Ray Romano guest stars in this episode.
When Donna and Kevin thinks that their son, Jack, needs someone to play with, Donna goes out and finds a kid, Graydon, from school from a file at school as she's the school nurse. They may be excited when Donna found the one for Jack, but their gonna have a field day with his parents.
As Jack and Graydon plays, the kid's parents show up, Vic and Brandi, and things don't seem to be a pleasant good time with these two. Vic wears a man-bun which was hilarious to see Romano pull off.Vic and Brandi are like the creepy friends that want to hang out with you so much that you really don't and they'll do anything to make you do anything from dinner to even snowboarding.
Donna and Kevin decides to end Jack and Graydon's friendship by framing Graydon of stealing Jack's video game and bring his former friend that moved to Brooklyn. But the plan got derailed as when Vic tells Kevin that he sales hot tubs and that he could get them a great discount. That stuck Kevin in the head and aborted the mission and gets Donna on board to go for the hot tub.
When Kevin and Donna get to the hot tub store with the boys, things take another turn for them as Vic couldn't sale any of the better models and yet couldn't get them a good discount. He tells them that he's drowning, can't keep the house, about to lose his job and he doesn't want to break up the kid's friendship. At first Kevin and Donna left but after seeing Jack and Graydon, they went back and made a deal, even though the hot tub might be a bit bigger and can make you swirl around like a toilet.
I find this episode this to be hilarious and so simple to watch. There were a lot of funny lines and mostly seeing Ray Romano and Kevin James on the same screen again was amazing. I hope that Vic comes back soon. I thought the the scene where Kevin was on the phone with Donna telling her to abort the mission that they didn't need Jack's old friend, while that kid was in the car with Donna.
Overall, I give this episode a 8/10.
You can catch Kevin Can Wait Monday nights at 8/7c on CBS.

Family & School: Fresh Off The Boat "Coming From America" & "Breaking Chains"
In the season premiere of Fresh Off the Boat, they make a pretty good way of catching up from last season when Louis and his family have to get to Taiwan to attend to his brother's (Gene, played by Ken Jeong) wedding.
Louis is shocked to see that Gene is successful and is marrying to a beautiful fiancee, Margaret, and gets jealous of moving to America and had to start all over. Not only did Louis have issues but Jessica had difficultly dealing of how much has changed from what she remembered of her home country.
Trying to find the soup place that was all out and instead went to McDonald's to trying to make a deal on a new Air Jordan shoes that turned out to be fake ones for Eddie to wear.
Along with Eddie's shoes, he's find it difficult to find a fax machine so he could contact Alison.
There were a few that stood out, like when Gene and his fiancee made a video of how they met calling it Ghost 2: The Story of Gene and Margaret making a better spoof of the Ghost films. Emery had difficult with the mosquitoes has they kept biting or as he calls it "kisses" his face.
But Jessica realizes that she loves her life in America and that she even misses bagels. They both come to realize that they're Ghost, two people living in between separate worlds.
Louis comes to terms and wrote Gene a lovely message wishing him nothing but happiness.
As Louis and the family get home, they are overwhelmed. But when Alison comes over and tells Eddie it's over, he explained that he couldn't find a fax machine and couldn't send a message. But she understood that but she was talking about a newspaper headline "Lakers Hit the Shaq-pot."
This was a nice season premiere. It had laughs and a better version of Ghost, to be honest. There were some really good scenes like Louis and Gene messaging each other and Louis tells him how much he had spent to get back home for his wedding. Jessica struggles adjusting coming back.
In the episode, "Breaking Chains," as school starts, Emery starts his first day of middle school, but Eddie has a few rules for him to follow. Plus Louis thinks that Jessica needs some help around the house as she express she needs some help.
This episode seem to be an average one at that, some was funny and some just wasn't at times. The ones that stood out was Louis getting a house cleaner for Jessica.
I find Jessica to be hilarious expressing her anger about the situation also after accepting the cleaner and taking her home she asked her how she got the bleach stain off the coach. She replied that it's a family secret and Jessica locked the doors and demanded her to tell her.
The middle school storyline was okay. Not my favorite and but it did have a little bit of humor. The idea of how Eddie and his friends should tackle their first day in a fantasy was funny.
Loved the two songs playing while Jessica was given the cleaner a ride home, "Zombies" from The Cranberries and "Un-Break My Heart" from Toni Braxton.

You can catch Fresh Off the Boat Tuesday nights at 9/8c on ABC.

And now for its next adventure, 12 Monkeys has employed someone with plenty of time-traveling experience as the series got Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd.
The actor will make a guest star during Season 3 of the Syfy hit series as the villainous Pallid Man's father, the network announced Wednesday.
Lloyd will play Zalmon Shaw, a charming but deadly cult leader who preys upon others' tragedies and losses to recruit new members into The Army of the 12 Monkeys.
Although synonymous with the Back to the Future franchise, Lloyd is also best known for his Emmy-winning work on the TV comedy series Taxi.
In Season 3 of 12 Monkeys, which also will feature co-creator Terry Matalas' directorial debut, "James Cole and Cassandra Railly embark on a research search across time to find the man responsible for the apocalypse, a time traveler who calls himself the Witness," according to the official description. "Killing the Witness will mean saving the world. But the journey will come at tremendous personal stakes for Railly and will call into question new alliances, old bonds, and the virtue of the mission itself."

Changes We Can Embrace: This Is US "Kyle" & "The Pool"
The show just gets better and better and these two episodes proves that it's literally the best new show of the fall.
In the episode, "Kyle" we dive into not only Randell's past but his parents as there's a secret on why his father never got to see him. Plus Kate has a hidden talent that Toby tries to make her show and Kevin comes to realizes that separation from his sister isn't a bad idea.
I thought that this was an outstanding episode, one that truly gives the meaning of family drama with one word theme change. Change of the name, with Randell, change of scenery for Kevin, the change of bring a baby or babies home with Rebecca and Jake.
There were shocking moment when Rebecca and William met but it turned out that it wasn't their first time meeting each other. That totally had me by surprise.
There were funny moments, like when Toby wakes up and hears Kate in the bathroom singing and when she opens the door she's surprise and punches him in the face. That shows him not to ease drop on her or anyone again.
Even thought that everyone was amazing in each and every way, there was one that stood out and gave a great performance and that was Mandy Moore. This episode was her best so far.
Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
In the episode "The Pool" this episode was another outstanding piece.
On a hot day, Jack decides to take Rebecca and the kids to the pool on one of the hottest day as their air conditioner wasn't working. This was one of my favorite story lines of the episode. It shows the idea of what going to the pool with the kids in the summer is all about and the reason why I stopped going. But Jack tries to handle things but isn't doing to well, mostly not paying attention to Kevin, who almost drown in the pool.
Kevin auditions in New York City and after gets the role, even though it pissed off the leading award winning actress, because he can sale tickets.
Randell and William storyline had the perfect balance of drama and humor. The one scene was when Randell took William cloth shopping and as he talks to him about the difference between him and William, he goes to telling him to try on a pair of pants.
Kate finally got to see what the real Toby, if he's not trying to make her feel good. After seeing his ex-wife, Kate goes her way to check her out and accidentally goes to the store, where she works, and gets a job as a researcher. That didn't sit well with Toby and he tells her how she hurt him by cheating on him and that his divorce caused him to gain a lot of weight.
This was another amazing episode, but not only did the writing and acting was great, but the music selection was outstanding and fit the tone of the episode so well. I just hope that they would come out with a soundtrack after season one.
Overall, I give "Kyle" a 9.5/10 and "The Pool" a 9/10.
