The Waiting Game: Parenthood "The Waiting Room"

We all have those moments when someone in our family, who's about to have surgery and don't know if they're going to make it or not. That's what we were dealing with this week on "Parenthood."

Zeek is soon to have surgery the next day, the family is coming to see him and cheer him up a bit. Only the Braverman kids are there, including Amber. With all of them there, Zeek tells that he'll be back and that he has amazing kids, grandchildren and excited for his great grandchild. Given the secret out that Amber's going to have a baby.

Classic grandfather moment!

There was a moment or two when Zeek was in the hospital. One being the day before surgery, him and Camille were at his room, looking at the grave yard. The nurse tells him that he has place to put his things and that he needs to take his wedding ring off.

Zeek didn't like that and gets very emotional, even if he wasn't shedding tears. You can tell it from his eyes and voice. Another is when the family sees him before surgery, he talks to everyone and when it was time he told Camille that he was scared. Something so real just makes you wan to hug someone right now.

The Braverman family goes through the emotions during that time when Zeek is having surgery. Camille is worrying, seating by herself just hold Zeek's wedding ring.

Adam worries too much and gives out stats of how many people could die from this surgery. Crosby is watching the Oakland A's play, trying to take his mind off his father's health.

While Sarah and Julia talk and Julia gets a package from her "boyfriend" of stuff that her dad brought to her when she was at Stanford, "Go Cal" t-shirt and a bunch of Twizzlers.

Meanwhile, Amber talks to Drew about going to see Ryan and telling him that he's going to be father. Drew decides that he's going with her and drives her there. When they get there they see a trashed up yard and see Ryan sleeping.

Ryan wakes up and sees Drew and Amber at the door. Drew can see that Ryan has not changed. Still on painkillers and a bit of a mess at this point. Amber finally tell Ryan that she's pregnant and he's reaction is excited as he could be.

Drew waits by the car, Amber and Ryan go for a walk and talk about the situation. As soon as Amber gets back to the car, she tells Drew that she's staying to figure stuff out. Drew disagrees and argues that he's not going to change even if she's having his baby.

Amber than goes back and talks to Ryan. They sit and talk about how he needs to start changing.

Later on, we see Adam a bit angry and grabs Crosby's phone and goes into the "bad room area" to tell him that their artist hasn't shown up to perform. Adam tells Crosby that he needs to do it. Crosby get's pissed off so bad that he talks on the phone to the singer and get's so angry that he throws his phone to the ambulance and drives on his motorcycle.

It's never a good idea to drive when you are mad or upset, because Crosby drove with anger, like his father and slid on his bike, twist or tweaking his knee.

As soon has he get's back, the doctor comes out of the room and tells Camille and the rest that Zeek is fine. And that they could see him. They walk down the hall, Zeek is just right down the hall from them, like you can walk into a straight line. They see him on a ventilator and as soon as Camille comes in and sit down, grabbing his hand, she puts his wedding ring back on. Soon he opens his eyes.

This episode once again is a bit of an emotional episode. You see it from Zeek and the Braverman family at the hospital.

I would hope something of the worst to happen in this episode with the clue that a family member will die. I don't want to think about that at all with this family. This family has suffered enough as it is throughout the series.

But that's life and I will admit that in the first five minutes of the show that I was already in tears.

You can catch "Parenthood" Thursday nights at 10/9c on NBC
