The Capture Season 1

If there's one excellent original series to check out on the Peacock Streaming Service, it has to be The Capture!
The Capture is a brilliant and on-the-edge-of-your-seat crime drama thriller that asks yourself repeatedly whether the person you are pursuing is guilty. Season one opens up with a former U.K. Special Forces solider, Lance Corporal Shaun Emery, acquitted of a war crime in Afghanistan; he finds himself in hot water when accused of kidnapping and murdering his lawyer CCTV.

Detective Inspector Rachel Carey, who was fast-tracked to the homicide and serious crime unit, begins to uncover a complex conspiracy surrounding Emery. This conspiracy puts the footage into question, whether it's him or someone else. The season ends with a concussion that's more right than wrong.

Since first encountering the trailer last year, I have eagerly anticipated viewing this series. I was delighted to learn that NBC Universal has acquired the rights to stream it on its platform. I watched all six episodes in a single day and found them thoroughly enjoyable.

The series is characterized by its compelling character development, notably featuring Holliday Grainger in the role of DI Rachel Carey, whose performance is exceptional. However, Callum Turner’s portrayal of Lance Corporal Shaun Emery captivates the audience. His representation of the character causes me to oscillate between suspicion and doubt regarding his role in the crime. Additionally, the performances by Ron Perlman and Famke Janssen are commendable. Although the conclusion of the first season resolves Emery's narrative arc, I eagerly anticipate the developments in season two and the challenges that DI Carey will encounter.

Overall, I give this series a 9.5/10.
